Something about this admission taking place by itself, and not in the midst of the LW reveal or afterwards when it could have been misinterpreted as a lie or an attempt at manipulation makes it better.

Penelope’s standing in a church, before Colin and god, in bright daylight admitting that she has always loved him, even when he was oblivious to her feelings and she was sure he would never choose or want her, makes it feel somehow truer and more meaningful.

Colin’s insecure nature immediately kicks in and he basically vows right then and there, to spend his life striving to be worthy of her love and it is so sweet, but the way Penelope sincerely tells him that the fact that he’s chosen to love her is enough to make her happy for the rest of her life, is simply gorgeous.

Awww...ok, there is my Eloise.....

I love the character of Eloise but hate the direction they took with her since the fight. I am still not going to like her much next one or two eps but she'll be spending less time with Cressida and I'm hoping we get back to the character I love who is flawed and but whom I still enjoyed onscreen.

At least here you get a brief moment where she is not embracing a woman she doesn't really like (cressida) and actually letting her real feelings show. She misses her friend and despite cutting Pen out of her life for months I think probably deep down thought maybe wouldn't be forever and now things aren't going to be the same even if they make up. Her entire world just got uprooted here.

Now she will fall back on again blaming Pen and asking if just used her to get close to Colin because Eloise has trouble accepting blame for not being observant or listening to Pen often or might have known Pen had feelings long before...but at root like book Eloise she took comfort in an idea she would have a partner for life even if never married and just realized that won't happen and she will never have her best friend to herself again.

I don't know who is season 4 but things like this was why I wonder if it's Eloise. Because while I don't think she has behaved maturely this season which makes it difficult for me to see as a step mother, her loneliness and isolation at her brother and best friend married is what led her to Phillip in the book. I'm not sure I am really sensing same change in Benedict's story. Only difference with Benedict I guess is I don't think he really needs much build up to prep his season as far as story.
