At last... The final mount unlock.
Scarlet can have an extra fluffy skyscale, as a treat.
#GW2#Guild Wars 2#Scarlet Briar#i technically unlocked it like 2 days ago#i just kept forgetting to actually announce it HDHFDHGDFH#anyway she gets a lunar mane and there's a story behind it#where the hatchling was a rude little thing that kept nipping its siblings and gorrik could Not figure out what to do about it#and the Commander was zero help and none of Taimi's suggestions were working either#so. he RELUCTANTLY asked Ceara; at that point they don't know each other well yet and she's only Kind Of turned her life around#so she's like. hm. irritable little baby creature. doesn't seem to like its siblings. doesn't respect authority. hm. mood.#she separates it from the other hatchlings and decides to let it take the lead and show her what it wants#she notices it keeps messing with and chewing on its leg. takes a look: it's angry at the tracker (which is why it doesn't like Gorrik)#apparently the critter remembered where he put it and decided it Does Not Like That. so she ignores his protests and removes it#and. it calms down. just like that. it still avoids the other hatchlings and glares at Gorrik occasionally but can be fairly friendly#but the final detail that seals the deal#is that it looks a lot like a minotaur calf when it's young#and one of my many headcanons is that Ceara has a soft spot for minotaurs (hence why her first steam creature is one)#so she decides it's extremely cute and keeps spoiling it with treats#and then. surprise. it keeps Following Her Home#so everyone just kinda decides. yeah that's her problem now.#it's a very soft and fluffy thing but if you're rude it Will take your fingers#anyway. that's all for the lore hours. //scurries away

Hey Nasty hope you're recovering from your dentist scare lol ( Same honestly, my dentist is always telling me to relax and calm down before they do the x rays because I freeze up😭)
But your red dead reblog(Arthur is so fine in that gif🥵) has me thinking about the"through the briar" aftermath again😫 Specifically after Micah kicks the bucket(Rest in Pieces Jerk lmao) With John bumping into the reader a few weeks after he killed Micah and seeing what a bad situation she's in. I can just imagine it goes something like:
Reader your still here? What happened to y- *sees the gaggle of blonde haired, blue eyed children running around behind her and the oldest son looks a lot like a certain someone he blasted a while ago* Ahhhhh shiiiiit💀💀
Honestly I think even John would feel pretty sorry for her and want to help at least a little, cause lets be real, reader and her kids are probably all half-starved and wearing nothing but rags. And also maybe for the fact that John probably noticed how much Arthur cared about the reader before the relationship fell apart, and feel some type of obligation to help her out of respect for Arthur's memory idk
But either way I am still choosing to believe John finds reader and gives her 3 gold bars to start over🥲
Hi!! That's so sweet of you, thanks! It's such a paradox when I go in for my own appointments because on one hand, that typical dentist office smell is so comforting to me because I like what I do, on the other I always have the cost of everything in the back of my head 😂 I guess I'm just scared of getting a big, fat bill fhdjshefdj Right?? His bad fucking stomp in that gif has me squirming in my chair lol 😳 I could stare at gifs of him all day
I think even John would feel pretty sorry for her
Oh my god, absolutely. If he sees you with three little mouths to feed, a shadow of the woman you once were - that is definitely going to sting, especially when he does the math and realizes that at least the oldest kid is Micah's brat. I mean, John grew up with that gang, with Arthur, Hosea and Dutch - and the way you've gone from full-cheeked and fat, with a timid demeanor and a sweet laugh, to haggard, dirty and utterly exhausted is just another reminder of how things have turned to shit. You're the living, breathing proof of how his life came crashing right down. He probably doesn't recognize you at first but when he does, he'll make sure that you at least have enough for dinner that night, flustered at the way you smile at him despite everything that has happened. (Because you're still so sweet to him just like years ago - and it's a great injustice that you aren't married to an honest, just as kind, man.)
Honestly I think even John would (...) want to help at least a little, cause lets be real, reader and her kids are probably all half-starved and wearing nothing but rags. And also maybe for the fact that John probably noticed how much Arthur cared about the reader before the relationship fell apart, and feel some type of obligation to help her out of respect for Arthur's memory idk But either way I am still choosing to believe John finds reader and gives her 3 gold bars to start over🥲
I think so, too. John is a little hard-hearded, not the smartest and plenty selfish, sure - but he also has a good heart. He won't save you and the kids by moving you into Beecher's Hope on his dime (he has his own shit going on, haha) but you can't tell me he wouldn't find a way to help you start a new life somewhere else. You've never been the closest friends but even he can see what Micah did to you and how rancid it all is. He'd find a way. Hell, maybe Charles is kind enough to take you up to Canada to find a place for you and your kids (maybe a new husband, too, after passing you off as an American widow - no one knows you up there and with marriage being less about love and more about convenience maybe there is an older bachelor who can support you and the kids and doesn't mind them all that much. Not a pretty fate, still, but everything is better than Micah.)
Reader your still here? What happened to y- Ahhhhh shiiiiit
fhjhsd I had to laugh so hard at that because I can HEAR him saying that, exactly like this, too. The way he'd need a solid minute to realize what's going on only to swear immediately afterwards bahaha
#ask#sodaequalsbubbles#if you wonder about the math thing... just trying to keep reader vague -- i for example can't have blond children haha#through the briar#i usually think of my readers as my age so she'd be early maybe mid 30s... that's still young enough for a new husband#oh my god i feel so sorry for her 😭#/rdr2

Well, here we are! After my head cannons about giving them a rock, and it might be some way to propose to fae, I’m here to deliver!
Request rules and Masterlists
Accidentally proposing by giving him a rock (Malleus)
Being friends with fae is confusing sometimes. Of course, they’re great! But their culture is new to you, and you’re trying to learn. Of course there’s bound to be misunderstandings and mistakes every so often! It’s part of the learning process.
Well, this is probably the biggest misunderstanding that could’ve possibly happened.
You’d simply wanted to give Malleus a gift to help express how much you care about him. So when you found this nice smooth black rock with specks of gray and green, you thought it was perfect for him. Who doesn’t love rocks anyway? From what you’ve learned about fae, they’re very in tune and connected to nature. So surely Malleus would appreciate the rock!
So when you see him next, you told him had a gift for him. But when you held the rock out to him, he was…stunned to say the least. The ever so calm Malleus Draconia had wide eyes when he saw it, and he’d gone completely stiff and silent. In hindsight, that definitely should’ve told you something was wrong. But at the time, you naively thought he was just stunned you gave him a gift. You were well aware he hasn’t gotten to experience friendships like the average person first most of his life. So it made sense why he’d be surprised when you gave him a gift. He’s not used to receiving gifts.
“Child of man…do you truly mean this?”
You’d smiled at him, and nodded, “Of course. I wanted to give you something to show I care and how much I appreciate you. This rock reminded me of you with the spots of green on the black.”
Just like that, the biggest smile grew on his face. One of his hands moved and gently held onto the bottom of your own hand that held out the rock, and the other carefully picked it up. He held the stone close to his chest, and looked down at you with such softness.
“Words cannot properly express how grateful I am to receive such a gift from you. I am delighted to accept this treasure. Rest assured, I will keep it safe and make the proper preparations for everything.”
It was hard to question what he meant when he said he’d make preparations when he looked so happy and held onto the rock like it’s sacred. He probably meant that he’d set something up to protect the rock, like a place for it to sit on display or something. Yeah, that seems like something he’d do.
You thought it was odd when Sebek was at the door to Ramshackle the next morning. He seemed rather upset, and he woke Grim up with his shouting, but he insisted that it was his duty to stick around. In your freshly woken up state, you didn’t quite process everything he’d said. Something about the audacity of humans, how Malleus is so humble and kind, and that regardless he would fulfill his duty to Malleus at all costs. But all that was pretty normal talk for Sebek.
It was a lot easier to let Sebek just escort you to your first class than to try and argue about being able to get there on your own. It was a lot quieter after he left to go to his own classes. Grim actually fell asleep during class, claiming that he woke up too early from Sebek’s yelling.
Around lunch time, Lilia had stopped by your table (Scaring Ace in the process). He’d greeted you with a big smile, and arms outstretched.
“Congratulations! Young people sure do move fast. But I’m glad to see Malleus so happy. He told us all about it when he came back to Diasomnia yesterday. It seems Briar Valley’s future is looking rather interesting, and more accepting of humans.”
Okay, now you were very confused, and so was everyone else. Unfortunately, when Ace asked what was going on, Lilia just laughed.
“Ah, it is hard to keep up with younger folks sometimes. Anyway, I will be off. Much to do, things to help arrange.”
He disappeared before anyone could get another word in.
It’s safe to say you were now thoroughly confused. All you did was give Malleus a rock, and now you have Sebek acting like he had to escort you places, and Lilia congratulating you? Was the rock some magical item? It wouldn’t be the first time you accidentally came across something magical. Maybe it was Malleus just being protective? He did have a habit of going over the top a bit to protect those he cares about.
Either way, the only way to know what was really going on would be to ask Malleus himself. So after classes were over, you and Grim made your way over to Diasomnia to find Malleus.
You’d never seen Diasomnia so…scattered. Several students were moving around quickly, some even avoiding eye contact or going still as you walked past them. And sitting in the lounge was the dragon prince himself, Malleus, with a big smile on his face as he spoke with Lilia.
As soon as Malleus saw you approaching, his smile grew again, and he looked at you with such joy and affection.
“Ah, Child of man, how lovely it is for you to visit. Everything is going smoothly.”
You blinked up at him in confusion, “What’s going smoothly?”
At that, he seemed surprised for a moment before answering, “The preparations for our marriage of course.”
…
What.
Grim practically squeaked beside you at the revelation and began shouting, “Marriage?! Who said you could marry my hench-human? You didn’t even ask for permission to propose to my minion!”
Malleus laughed softly, “There was no need for me to seek your approval. Child of man proposed to me themself. It was quite the honor.”
The small direbeast looked quickly between you and Malleus in shock, and slight offense that you didn’t tell him. Malleus wasn’t a mage he wanted to provoke, but you were his hench-human! How could you propose to him without even consulting or telling him first?!
In the pause, Malleus continued, “I have taken great lengths to ensure the precious stone is safe. It is a symbol of our engagement, and will be a fine piece at our ceremony. Grandmother has already received word, and will be welcoming you to Briar Valley by my side.”
Oh great seven. The Queen of Briar Valley knows you somehow proposed to the Prince by giving him…a rock?? This must be some part of fae culture you’d yet to learn about. Courtship wasn’t exactly a priority when learning about their culture, so you hadn’t gotten there yet.
Snapping out of your shocked daze, you had to ask, “We’re…engaged??”
Malleus nodded, “Of course. Was that not the purpose of your gift of stone?”
Part of you wanted to clarify that proposing was very much not the intention, but he looked so happy and Lilia was giving you a look beside him. Malleus even told his grandma, made Sebek escort you this morning, and now all of Diasomnia is treating you like some sort of royalty. He was so excited about it. How could you tell him that you weren’t proposing when he was so excited? That might break his heart.
Unsure of what to say, you stayed silent for a moment. Lilia, ever the protector of Malleus’ feelings, laughed lightly, “Ah young love. Proposing and yet being so flustered about it. It’s relieving to see the future rulers of Briar Valley being oh so in love. Humans and fae coming together after so long.”
Malleus smiled again, and stepped by your side, “I am honored to be your chosen partner. Now, we must set up a time for you to meet Grandmother before the wedding.”
Oh yeah, you’re done for.

HEAR ME OUT. Sebek/Malleus/Silver bring the girl home/dormitory. Lilia: *draws out a huge photo album with the most embarrassing pictures* so when he was 3 he accidentally knocked over his potty.... *long paternal recounting of the boy's childhood*.
DIASOMNIA X READER
Where Lilia shows you embarrasing photos of the boys as children
Where Silver, Malleus and Sebek invite you to Lilia's house to formally introduce you as his partner… but Lilia is faster at taking out the photo album
You’re honored (and slightly terrified) to be invited to Malleus’s castle. It’s all cal until a familiar giggle echoes down the corridor.
“Oh~ what’s this? Malleus brought someone special~?”
Malleus doesn’t even flinch. He smiles, polite as ever. “Yes. I hoped you would meet her, Lilia.”
“Excellent!” Lilia spins into the lounge, dragging a wheeled cart stacked with five albums. “Let me share the legend of Briar Valley's Heir: Baby Dragon Malleus.”
Malleus sighs softly. “Do we need to—”
“Oh hush. This is important heritage. Now, look here, lady—this was Malleus when he got curious about human inventions. He once tried to sit in a refrigerator because he thought it was a portal to a cold realm. He was twenty. Just a toddler in fae's age. And his little horns were growing and he was getting stuck in a lot of places, so…”
You stare at the photo. Malleus is curled up inside a fridge like an overgrown cat, the door unable to shut.
“I was… investigating dimensional storage,” he explains calmly.
"He once asked some frogs if they would crown him. Some frogs! He told me "If I am the future king of these lands, all the animals will be under my rule." SOME FROGS!! In the end, we gave him a coronation with toy frogs. He got so angry that the real frogs were struck by lightning-"
You cover your mouth, snorting.
Malleus looks at you, utterly unbothered. “I have always embraced whimsy.”
Lilia beams. “Best boy.”
You barely make it through the front door before you hear it.
“Oh~ Sebek, my boy! You brought someone home~?”
Sebek instantly stiffens beside you. “Master Lilia!”
Lilia floats into view with the speed of someone who’s been waiting for this moment since forever. He claps gleefully, disappearing into a side room and returning with a massive album covered in glittery frog stickers.
“Oh, you’re gonna love this,” he says sweetly, flipping it open.
“This one’s Sebek when he was five. He was trying to prove how brave he was—stood on the edge of the pond in the backyard and shouted, ‘I fear NOTHING!’ and then fell straight in. Cried for twenty minutes because his favorite boots got soggy.”
Sebek looks like he’s going to combust. “L-lilia, PLEASE!”
“Oh, and here’s one where he’s yelling at a squirrel for ‘mocking the young heir Lord Malleus’!”
You try not to laugh, really, you do.
But Sebek’s bright red face and Lilia’s absolute joy at recounting every high-volume disaster of his childhood?
Impossible.
“I think it’s sweet,” you say, smiling at Sebek.
Sebek hides behind his hands. “Please… don’t listen to any more of his lies…”
Lilia smirked searching for another photo “I never lie. I only... embellish lovingly.”
Silver brings you with that serene air of a man who thinks everything will go peacefully.
He is wrong.
The moment the door opens, Lilia peeks around the corner, eyes gleaming.
“Oh my~ you brought a guest, Silver~?”
Silver nods. “I wanted you to meet her.”
“WONDERFUL!” Lilia yells. “SIT DOWN. I HAVE STORIES.”
Silver gives you a look that says, you can still run.
But you sit.
He sighs and accepts his fate.
Lilia slams a pink binder onto the table.
“This boy—this sweet baby—once slept through his own birthday party. We made a lovely picnic in the woods. He woke up the next morning and asked why there were balloons.”
Silver groans quietly. “You said you wouldn’t tell people that…”
“And here’s a photo of him as a toddler hugging a tree because he thought it was a ‘very patient person’.”
You gasp. “That’s… kind of adorable.”
Silver: 🧍🏻♂️“…”
“And this one—he was ten, and he fell asleep mid-sentence. He said, ‘Father, I wish to go out and explore the wooorrr—’” Lilia pantomimes a faceplant. “Straight into the soup bowl.”
You’re cackling by this point, while Silver tries not to die of secondhand embarrassment.
“He still does that sometimes,” Lilia says fondly.
Silver mumbles, “I can hear you.”

Hello! I was wondering if it's possible to request Lilia reacting to GN! Reader, despite being magicless, managed to uses magic using the language of the fae?
Hope this makes sense!
Thank you!
❥· This Is My Family, Lilia Vanrouge × S/O
Character(s): Lilia Vanrouge (🦇) A/N: This reminded me of Luz Noceda from The Owl House so strongly, so I used her for a backdrop of the Reader. Hope that's alright, and I hope you enjoy this, @beawesome04! Thank you for the amazing request! ✎ Summary: When someone tries to attack you and your husband, Lilia Vanrouge, a shock emerges when you use the hardly-known language of the fae to defend Lilia, Silver, and yourself.
┍━━━━━━━━━━━━━☽【❖】☾━━━━━━━━━━━━━┑
🦇 Being born a human in Briar Valley wasn't very fun, since the fae there and the humans never had a very good bond. Because of this, when the relationship between you and Lilia emerged, many were outraged.
🦇 Lilia didn't care, you were his love. You were his other half, your species didn't matter. As he said at your wedding, "It doesn't matter if you were a beastman, a mer-person, a fae, or even a magicless human, I still love you. You are you no matter what, and that is what's important."
🦇 Hugging your husband, he felt the best he ever did. Even when he defeated humans in battle and secured the safety of his family and the people he swore to love until death, he never felt the amount of love that he did then and now.
🦇 As the years passed, and you were blessed by the previous Queen of Briar Valley, Queen Maleficia, with the same life as a fae. Unknowingly blessing you with an extremely old magical ability as well.
🦇 It was years since then, and now you finally got to walk around your hometown with your adopted son, whom you both named Silver, after his shining hair. The young boy smiled and sun cheerfully as he skipped around with you two beside him, just in case he randomly fell asleep again.
🦇 "Excuse me." A voice said from behind, which you turned around to put a face to voice. There, standing behind your family, was a fae man, his small fangs and pointy ears being the parts that showed that off.
🦇 "I couldn't help but wonder, are you Y/N and Lilia Vanrouge?" He asked. You cocked an eyebrow and looked at Lilia, who was picking up Silver to hold -- since he had fallen asleep.
🦇 "...Yes? Why?"
🦇 "Good."
🦇 Raising his hand, you noticed a blade. Lilia looked up and saw the unknown man try attacking you. But, before he could defend you, he heard a yell, one filled with the words of the ancient fae, emerge from your mouth.
🦇 "Silentium!" You screamed.
🦇 The fae slammed into the nearby wall, alerting all in the area. Lilia yelled for them all to evacuate, to which everyone did as he said. Silver was still in Lilia's arms when he pinned the man down with his foot, digging it into his back.
🦇 "Y/N, take Silver. I'll handle him." Lilia said. You blinked out of the stupor and nodded, taking your son in your arms as Lilia grabbed the fae and began to demand to know who he was and what he thought he was doing.
🦇 But, the sight of you using such an expired way of magic never left his mind. He knew he needed to ask Queen Maleficia what the side affects could be of your blessing.

Kingdom Dance : Malleus Draconia
Summary: After being invited to Briar Valley's Festival of Roses by Malleus, you can't help but notice how exhausted he gets whenever he's out and trying to show you places and food of his homeland. People always try and vouge for his attention, but you have an idea that'll make his experience even better.
A/N: honestly, I found the scene very cute and decided to write something similar for Malleus
Inspired by the song, Kingdom Dance from the Disney movie, Tangled
unedited

"Hey, Malleus I have an idea," You spoke up suddenly, the rumbling of thunder echoed in the distance. You were in some sort of carriage that took you to and from the castle that you were residing at.
"I have noticed that you seem a bit," Wincing, you try to think of something to not offend your horned friend, "stressed, whenever we go to town for the festival, yes?"
Malleus who had been staring out the window, had turned his head and focused on you with a curious look. "It is true, I have been a bit stressed."
It was the last day of the festival and Malleus wanted to show you everything. But alas, on the first day, the residents of the town heard of their future Kings arrival to the festival, they all bombarded you as soon as the carriage door was open.
"Your royal highness, please! Have theses goods, free of charge!"
"No, your highness! Please have some of mine instead! I even brought extra for your guest!"
"Your highness, I assure you that these products of mine are of the highest quality!"
Clicking your heels together in excitement, you scoot your bottom closer to Malleus. "What if I told you that instead of announcing yourself, we sneak our way inside?"
Malleus hums, thumb and pointer finger on his chin in deep thought. After waiting for a good minute or two, Malleus lowers his hand and gives you a smirk. "That doesn't sound too bad, [Name]."
Grinning at each other, Malleus scoops your hand into his and with his other, opens the door with the carriage still in motion.
ੈ✩‧₊˚
"MY LEIGE! WHERE ARE YOU!?" Sebek shouted into the lively town, eyes frantic and scanning every face that past him. Lilia floats next to him, a giggle leaving his lips.
"Sebek, maybe you should leave Malleus be," Silver sighs which causes Sebek to spin around at Silver's words.
"I CANNOT JUST LEAVE MY LEIGE! WHAT IF HE'S IN DANGER?"
This time, it was Lilia who spoke up. "Sebek, you need to give it a rest. Malleus might want some alone time with [Name]."
"THE HUMAN?!" The green haired half fae squawked. "I KNEW IT! I KNEW THAT HUMAN SOMEHOW SEDUCED MY LIEGE."
Placing a fist over his heart, he continues he rant. "I SWEAR TO RESCUE MY YOUNG MASTER FROM THIS HUMAN." And charges through the crowd, on a mission to save his liege from the seductive human.
Lilia sighs.
Hopefully, Malleus evades Sebek long enough to have his time with you uninterrupted.
ੈ✩‧₊˚
With a hood over his horns to keep them hidden, it didn't you drag Malleus by the hand to whatever stall that had caught your interest.
"Oh, what are these?" You asked, drooling at the sight of some food. The lady who owned the stall smiled and quickly made her way over to you.
"These are Briar Valley's traditional sweets," She explained, lifting a muffin towards your face. "Made with the finest ingredients."
"They look amazing!" You dug into your pocket for some change. "How much for two?"
"That'll be 4 thaumarks please."
Pulling out your cash, Malleus quickly covers your hand with his own and brings out his own money. "Please, [Name], allow me."
After failing to convince the fae prince to allow you to pay for both of desserts, the lady wraps the treats and sends you off with a wave. Once you were far enough, you ripped the packaging and quickly bit into yours, nearly moaning at the taste.
Malleus holds his treat in his hand, a smile on his face after watching you gush about 'never trying anything like this,'. Then the peace was shattered by a loud voice that you knew belonged to a certain half fae that seemed to hate your very existence.
"MY LIEGE! I FINALLY FOUND YOU!" Sebek cried and quickly ran towards your location, not caring about the people he ran into.
"Oh shit! It's Sebek!" Panicked, you looked around to try and escape when Malleus grabs your hand and bolts. Confused at this action, Sebek pleas with Malleus to remain still so he can rescue him, but Malleus continues to run and run, until he gently shoves you both in between two buildings.
Heart pounding from how close you were and from the chase, you wait for Sebek to pass by.
"My Liege? MY LIEGE!?" Sebek's voice fades away as he runs into the opposite direction.
Breathing a sigh a relief, you turn your sweaty head to the side to gouge at Malleus's reaction only to realize he's already staring at you. No panting, no sign of sweating, nothing.
Then you burst into laughter, Malleus soon joining you.
ੈ✩‧₊˚
"Oh? What's going on over there?" You pondered, walking ahead of Malleus to the center of the town. Loud music and laughter echoed filled the air, in the middle were folks dancing without a care in the world; twirling, skipping, and they would swap partners after every 10 beats or so.
The melody was catchy, and you soon find yourself nodding your head to it. Malleus takes notice immediately. Smiling his big smile, you love very much and extends his hand out, bowing slightly.
"May I have this dance, [Name?"
Oh. My. Goodness.
He had no idea how badly you're holding yourself from cupping his face and planting a fat kiss on his lips. Maybe let him nibble on your lips with his fangs for shits and giggles-
WOAH WOAH WOAH
RELAX [Name]!!
Giggling nervously, face hot from both the thought and from the way Malleus used his princely charms. Putting your hand in his, the fae pulls you to his chest, and leads the both of you into the crowd.
Moving in sync with everyone else, Malleus twirls you around and tries to catch your other hand in his when you're tugged away from the fae prince. Another person had pulled you away and began to dance with you.
Eyeing Malleus from the stranger's shoulder, you hold back a snort at the fae's pout before he allowed himself to be dragged by the hand to another dancer.
Allowing yourself to dance with many different people, you once again look for Malleus only to find his green gaze already on you. Perking up, you take lead of the dance and try to get closer to Malleus, who notices your plan and does the same.
Twirling the woman who was your partner a few times, she moves on in search for her final partner for the last minute of the dance, you make your way towards Malleus.
Malleus takes long strides towards you, arm stretched out in some sort of desperate attempt to have you in his arms before the song ended.
On the final note, both you and Malleus finally end up in each other's arms again, chests pressed together, panting. Mostly you though, Malleus never seems to be out of breath.
The crowd cheers, for the fun they had, and for the musicians for playing the music.
ੈ✩‧₊˚
Messing with the fabric of the mini-Briar Valley flag in your hands, you peak at Malleus's smiling figure next to you. He seems to be in a good mood.
"So..." You began, tucking the flag into your pocket. "How did you enjoy today?"
Malleus chuckles at your question. "Shouldn't I be asking you that?"
"Yeah, probably, but I've noticed you haven't been enjoying the festival." You bumped into his shoulder gently. Leaning against the stone wall of a random building, the moon shined brightly. illuminating Malleus's features as he stared into the star covered sky.
"Yes, I did enjoy the festival," He leans tilts his head, hair spilling over his shoulder. "thanks to you, [Name]."
The softness in his voice made your heart skip a beat. Staring into his green eyes was becoming too much for you. If you were to keep looking into those eyes, you'll never find your way back.
Malleus cups your cheek, and you jump, not from the contact but from how close you two have gotten without noticing. Are you about to kiss?
Bending down to your level, Malleus glances at your lips before returning to your eyes, like he was asking for permission. Instead of giving Malleus a vocal response, you wrap your arms around his neck and connected your lips the together, surprising the fae prince from your sudden action.
Luckily, he doesn't hesitate to wrap his arms around your waist and pull you into his warm body. Deepening the kiss slightly.
Unfortunately, good things don't last forever.
"H-HOW DARE YOU!" A voice screams, breaking the romantic moment you had. "YOU DARE PLACE YOUR HUMAN LIPS ON MALLEUS?! RELEASE HIM FROM YOUR CLUTCHES AT ONCE!"
Maybe you should've taken this a step further and ask Malleus if he wanted to sleep in your room to escape Sebek's onslaught of questions.
Knowing him, he just might take that offer.
━━━━━
[Name]: Wait, Malleus, how in the world did people not realize you were at the festival? I mean, your horns weren't that well hidden...
Malleus: Simple, I used a spell to conceal my presence.
[Name]: YOU CAN DO THAT?
Malleus: Of course, I learned it from Lilia when I was younger.
[Name]: Huh, no wonder I don't notice Lilia when he scares me...
━━━━━

- Warning: None really. Gender-neutral reader.
- Characters: Malleus Draconia, Lilia Vanrouge, Silver, Sebek Zigvolt.
- Summary: You work a minimum wage job when a fae takes an interest after you jokingly asked him "will you adopt me?"
- Note: I planned for this to be a platonic yandere thing, but really it's only silly thoughts so I don't really plan to continue this unless y'all want. I don't even have a name for it.

Thinking about an AU where...
You were born a regular magicless person in Twisted Wonderland. Which was a travesty, but not too uncommon, as there were plenty of beings in this world that were incapable of magic. It was considered a privilege to be born with such capabilities. A privilege.
Which was likely why the world seemed catered specifically for magic users. Magic users were the cream of the crop, the best of the best. In the social hierarchy, magic users reined on top. That's just how things were. It wasn't discriminatory. It was merely the nature of society. If a company was looking to hire, of course they would inquire if potential employees could use magic. And of course, they were more likely to choose magic users to fill the positions. That explained why you could only find work as a minimum wage telemarketer, but it was better than nothing.
Random numbers generated and numerous attempts, scripted greetings you've said so much you could recite them in your sleep. As soon as you get an answer of "mmmyello?" a casual and exaggerated hello, you go off on the scripted greeting to advertise the product.
Shockingly, the person on the other end doesn't immediately hang up. They merely hum at your words, occasional shifting heard on the other end.
By the tone and voice, you've deduced that it's a rather relaxed guy. A conversation ensues, and although he doesn't sound all that interested in making a purchase, he doesn't get annoyed by your call. In fact, he continues to chat, seemingly amused by you and willing to share details such that he had a son and two others he fondly cared for.
The man, whom referred to himself as Lilia, mentioned he lived in Briar Valley. How odd, as it was common knowledge that the valley didn't have the best connection with technology due to their preference towards magic. He spoke of his well-mannered son and the other two boys he helped raise, one was a loud son of a dentist and the other was a quiet son of longtime family friends. By this time you were imagining an older gentleman with three young boys no older than ten.
He seemed to care so fondly for them that in the middle of the pleasant conversation, you couldn't help but jokingly ask, "Will you adopt me?"
The line was silent and you were mortified as you remembered this was supposed to be business talk, and your calls were likely being recorded. After what must've been shock, he began to laugh on the other end, and you immediately ended the call in your panic.
Why did you say that? You shouldn't have said that– Damn it, right when you were just gonna test the waters to see if he wanted the insurance package! Well, there went your big catch of the day. The rest of the evening was failed attempts, either deadlines or potential customers just hung up as soon as you spoke. Things were looking bleak.
Eventually, not even a week later, you received a letter. A letter, not an email, that was written much like how you expected the contents of a letter from the medieval ages to sound. Starting with: Salutations, Telemarketer–– and after several paragraphs, ending with ––That is why I am now interested in your deal! I will need your assistance, because I have not a single clue about how insurance works.
There was no number, and you couldn't recall the one you had reached him through, so there was no choice but to resort to the old fashioned way. Through letters. Although it would be a hassle and an interaction that would likely last for weeks just for one deal, a customer was a customer, and this would be your first one in so long. However, when you agreed to speak to him, you didn't actually expect him to show up at your doorstep. The voice you recognized, but he was not what you had in mind. He looked to be your age, short with magenta highlights in his black hair and wide red eyes accompanied by a fang-toothed smile. And pointed ears, the sign of fae. Of course he was a fae, that made total sense as to why he spoke as if he were older. He probably was older, much older than you previously thought.
Lilia wore a constant smile, listening but also not listening when you tried your best to explain what insurance was to a fae that had never once needed it.
"Do you get it now...?" You asked finally, after a lengthy explanation to which he barely asked any questions. All he did was nod up and down.
There was a brief pause. "Yesss..." That sounded uncertain, but he didn't appear to care too much as he noticed your bag with only the minimum in it like keys and a thin wallet. Along with the time. "Shouldn't you be on your lunch break now?"
"Yes, but... I don't eat lunch. I'm not hungry." A lie. You were hungry, but it wasn't easy to get lunch on a minimum wage salary alone. You'd eat something for dinner.
Lilia seemed to sense this, somehow detecting your lie. "Hm... Well, I like you. And I'm not about to let a child starve on my watch."
"A child...?" You stared at him incredulously. This fae was practically the same size as you, maybe even shorter. "I'm over––"
"Uh-huh, just nod and come along." He instructed, holding up a finger to gently shush you as he waved you along to follow beside him. "If your age only has two numbers in it, then in my eyes, you're like a toddler."
Lunch was surprisingly nice, as Lilia was quite eccentric but excellent at holding a conversation. He seemed wise and witty, making a great combination. However, you couldn't help but wonder what a fae from Briar Valley was doing here, as it was known that most faes preferred not to leave the valley.
"It's getting late, I do have to be going..." Lilia sighed, before turning to you and his smile softened. "Would you like to see my boys I told you about? It won't take long."
Did he live close by? That was the only plausible explanation you could think of, since Briar Valley was a whole continent away. It only made sense that he lived nearby if he were here now. Maybe he was one of the few fae that chose to leave the valley.
This was quickly disproven when he held your hand and told you to stay still, when it felt like you were hurled through space. A gust of wind slapping your face, your eyes momentarily seeing a kaleidoscope of colors, you felt sick when suddenly your surroundings were darker.
Dark brick walls like black, candles lighting the space, gray stone floors... definitely not the outside of the cafe you were just standing in front of moments ago. Teleporation magic...? He was a fae, and all faes had magic. You only had milliseconds to recover and swallow the rising bile in your throat, as Lilia pulled you into an open space like a courtyard where light filtered in. However, in this space there were training dummies and swords instead of flowers and butterflies.
"Come, come, meet my boys. The ones I've told you about!"
You immediately paled. When you heard boys, you were expecting young children no bigger than half your height. Instead you were met with three towering men with forbidding expressions.
Two of which were dressed in dark metallic armor and lowering sharpened weapons. The one on the left was a bit taller, with green hair and sharp eyes that pierced you like a blade. The one on the right was the shorter of the two, but that didn't make him any less intimidating with his gray hair and aurora eyes on an expression as cold as ice.
And the last, the last was recognizable anywhere. Black robes and majestic black horns like a crown with slitted green eyes that seemed to glow and peer into your very soul. That was the prince of the valley, a fae with unrivaled and frightening levels of magic.
"This is Sebek, Silver, and Malleus. They've so looked forward to meeting you ever since I told them about you after our pleasant telephone chat yesterday!"

MAKE THEM PREGNANT!!!!! (especially nurse and cow)🥺🥺🥺
As much as they would look super pretty pregnant they would not be good parents 💔 I just went off an a shpiel about why they would be TERRIBLE dads.
Yuuto would be so neglectful, he would put on a good daddy performance while you’re present but immediately pull back when you leave. Your child would probably have a lot of trauma from him, because honestly, none of my OC’s would be good parents for ALL reasons.
Will probably speak to his child about not getting an abortion when he could. Really only kept his pregnancy because you asked for a family.
will be all “Look at how much daddy loves you!!” In front of you and when you leave will be “Can you go away? I don’t want you near me.”
Will totally plead for you to send your kid to a boarding school that is COUNTRIES away. He just wants that child as far away as possible from the both of you.
Would have a fight with you about suggesting adoption.
Yuuto WILL compete with your child for your love and attention. Yikes.
Now what about Briar?? Well, he still has cow in him, and he will have maternal urges because he is part female. His anatomy pleads for him to have children even though he doesn’t necessarily care about them.
he will still care for your child for the first few years but when the child hits an age like 3 or 4, he will slowly begin to become uncaring. Cattle grow fast, and like it or not he is still a bit of a cow deep down, so by a young age he will recognize naturally that they are ‘adults’ even if it doesn’t work like that for humans.
Briar will still protect and serve your child though, reluctantly. But he will kinda show outwards that he doesn’t really like them, also! He refers to your child like an it. That’s how much he cares about them.
he thinks the only good thing about his pregnancy was the breast milk, the other part was..eh.
Mind you, Briar is meant to be bred, but would suggest abortion too. Will get jealous of you and your child’s relationship, will be jealous because you are giving your love to another. And he can’t have that.
if he finds it inconvenient he would probably murder his own.
wow! That got dark so quick!! Well, thank god they can’t really can pregnant haha.. or can they?

Hi hi hiiii!!!
May I ask for: Diasomnia or Heartslabyul, This is non negotiable, and Comedy?
(Idk why I thought this but if you feel stumped, its okay if you ignore it x'D thank youu)
i love making random stuff up so works for me!
Friendship Ritual || Malleus Draconia
For the Holiday Event! || Prompt: "This is non-negotiable" ; Genre: Comedy
Malleus’s eyes gleam with seriousness as he listens to you explain the “ancient and sacred friendship ritual” with the solemnity of a knight swearing fealty. "This is non-negotiable," you declare dramatically, hands on your hips, barely suppressing a grin. "You have to do it perfectly, or it doesn’t count."
And because it’s you, Malleus nods with grave determination. If this ritual is what it takes to be your best friend, then he will conquer it without fail.
The ritual? An elaborately choreographed handshake that involves finger guns, twirls, and ending with jazz hands. Malleus throws himself into the task with the same energy he’d use for a duel, and while his form is… enthusiastic, his execution is clunky at best. But when he completes the final jazz hands with a flourish and looks to you for approval, your heart practically melts.
“You nailed it!” you cheer, grabbing his hand and shaking it. “Congrats, Malleus. You’re officially my best friend!”
The pride that fills his expression is enough to light up a room. “It is an honor,” he says earnestly.
Lilia, who’s been eavesdropping from the sidelines, saunters over, cackling. “What’s this? A best friend group without me? Outrageous! I demand to join!”
Before you can respond, Malleus nods. “It is only fair. Come, Lilia. I shall teach you the sacred handshake.”
Watching Malleus—future King of the Briar Valley—patiently guide Lilia through the nonsensical ritual is pure comedy gold. Lilia, of course, hams it up, spinning unnecessarily and over-exaggerating the finger guns. At one point, he “accidentally” jazz-hands too hard and smacks Malleus in the face, causing the prince to blink in mild confusion.
When Silver and Sebek pass by, they stop to watch the spectacle, Sebek horrified and Silver mildly amused.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING, YOUNG MASTER?” Sebek bellows, looking as though his entire worldview has shattered.
Malleus turns to him, unbothered. “A sacred ritual of friendship, Sebek. It is non-negotiable.”
By the time everyone’s involved, including a reluctant Silver, you’re doubled over in laughter, tears streaming down your face. The “ritual” has devolved into chaotic nonsense, with Lilia taking the lead and adding increasingly absurd steps.
As the shenanigans wind down, Malleus looks at you with the faintest of smiles. “I trust our bond is now unbreakable?”
You nod, grinning as you wrap an arm around his shoulder. “Absolutely. You’re the best best friend I could ever ask for.”
And if the future king of the Briar Valley looks just a little smug as he says, “Likewise,” who’s going to call him out?

what’s the isles inn?
Sorry for the late response! I was trying to think of how to word this without writing you a ten page essay.
The Isles Inn is a campaign I play with my friends! Basically, an infection breaks out in this town called Fidem, in which all of the players are gathered for the Summer Festival. The infection makes its victims murderous and ravenous, so all hell breaks loose and people run for cover as others are dying on the streets. It starts to storm to the point of unnatural flooding. They all run inside this inn- The Isles Inn!
Unfortunately, 4 people are infected, the most unlucky being my character, Atlantis Windsor!
Lots of murder and terrible tragedy later, they end up in the afterlife, which is what most of my current drawings for the Isles Inn are about. Think of it as purgatory where they're all forced to act out a play. Hence, Atlantis becomes THE ANTAGONIST.
There are so many other players and characters with super complex lore, if you want to give the tag a quick sweep-through. If you want to hear more I'll gladly write something up!
Oh, and thanks for asking!

"Since when was this marriage valid?!" Piece 2

Malleus's segment
This with Malleus, who as a young child was able to evade his caretakers and find himself in the forest near the palace. Hood over his head, he explored the area, admiring the wildflowers and trees. He was saddened when the small woodland creatures would run from him, but he didn't let it dampen his mood.
As he walked, he eventually came across a semi small clearing. In the middle of it, sat you as a child, making flower crowns and trying (along with failing) to climb trees in order to get to the birds on them. He wasn't sure if he should approach, thinking back to the times earlier when the animals evaded him. Before he could make a decision, you spotted him.
Instead of running, you eagerly approached him. You talked about how you couldn't see his face, but that you didn't care and asked him to join you. He nodded, very happy that you didn't run away out of fear.
For the next hour or so, you taught him how to make flower crowns, how to get the birds to come to him (which did not work), and other trivial stuff. Eventually, he took off his hood, expecting you to run away in fear or embarrassment because of his status. Your actual reaction made him so, so happy.
You stared wide eyed before excitedly going on about how "pretty" he was. How he must be a prince (you didn't recognize him????) for him to look so cool. How you were so glad to have him as a new friend now. Malleus was awestruck as he watched you flutter around him excitedly.
At one point, you claimed that you wanted him to marry you. When Malleus asked why, you said it was because you were never going to let him forget you, and that marriage was the only way to ensure that (you were a kid, give yourself some slack). That made sense to him, so he agreed.
You both picked a wild flower that you liked best and used some magic to preserve it. Then, you exchanged it with each other, you giving him a smile.
You two had been playing for hours, and it began to get dark. You heard your mother call out for you to come home, along with Malleus hearing footsteps coming from behind him. You both said goodbye, you telling him that "you'll know I'm home if the chimney is on!".
The week that followed was a very happy week for the both of you. You told your parents about your new "husband", which they laughed off and joked that you would have to bring him home eventually. Malleus told his caretaker about you, who seemed to already know and cheekily asked if he had fun. You would meet everyday, you bringing him snacks for him to try and him bringing his favorite book for you to read.
All was well, until one day you came to him in tears. You told him about how your parents were going to take you far away, and that you wouldn't be able to see him anymore. You confessed that they talked about how you had a "bad memory", and that you were scared you were going to wake up one day and not remember him. He comforted you as best he could, and assured you that it was ok. "I can remember for the both of us." he said, which cheered you up a bit.
With that, you waved him goodbye for the last time, promising him that you would come back. As your family packed up, you gave the preserved flower a hug before putting it away in your luggage. By the time night fell, your family was gone.
...
Many, many years have passed since then, and Malleus was newly appointed as the king of Briar Valley, after his grandmother stepped down. He was prepared all his life for this, and his grandmother deemed him ready.
Growing up, he always looked out his window. He was keeping an eye out for smoke in the forest near his castle, looking for any sign that you came back. He kept his flower preserved over the years, keeping it on his bedside table next to him while he slept every night.
One day, after his duties, he retired to his chambers. It wasn't quite late in the day, but he was still tired. At that moment, his advisor (the cheeky one that used to be one of his caretakers) suggested that he looked out his window. As he did, his eyes widened. There was smoke.
You had come back, albeit a few weeks ago. Many years have gone by and your parents let you have the small cottage that you grew up in, after you expressed interest in returning to Briar Valley. Soon after, you packed up your stuff and moved back. Nostalgia flooded your mind as you walked through that forest, through the small clearing, and up the steps to the cottage door.
You placed the preserved flower on your bedside table, in the same spot where you put it as a kid. Due to your now diagnosed memory problem, you couldn't remember exactly why you had it, just that it was given to you by someone you cared about. In fact, this mystery person was the reason you even came back. You were always someone that trusted your gut, so you went with that assumption.
The first weeks you were back home were spent cleaning up the place. It had been unoccupied for a really long time (by human standards at least), so it needed a little tidying up. By the time you had finished, a few weeks went by and you decided to enjoy the newly cleaned space by lighting up the old chimney and sipping some tea you bought in town.
Life went by peacefully...until one day when you were trying to make bread yourself, there was loud knocking at the door. You had half the mind to give the visitor hell, and you were ready to do that until you opened the door and came face to face with two royal guards.
At first, you freaked out. You thought you were in trouble somehow, because why else would the royal guard be at your doorstep. Before you could freak out further, the louder of the two guards opened a scroll, loudly proclaiming that your attendance was urgently requested by the newly appointed king, so that you may be formally crowned as his spouse.
See? He told you that he could remember for the both of you.
A/N: Here's Mal's piece! Funfact, his, Leona's, and Idia's segments are the only ones that take place in the original twst universe. Happy reading!

Summary: Malleus goes missing. Lilia panics a little (a lot).
“We can’t find him.”
The blood in Lilia’s veins froze. He stared at the two worried knights before him.
He straightened in his seat, “Knowing Malleus, he might have gotten distracted on his way back.”
The look the two sent each other sent a slight rush of anxiety through him.
“Father, we asked around and no one has seen him. We tried calling but…”
But his phone is probably broken. That boy. Causing me trouble even at this age.
Lilia looked at the young knights before him, “Go. Ask the Shrouds if they have footage of his last known location.”
Silver and Sebek nodded before heading off.
He knew he told Silver and Sebek to handle it, but he couldn’t leave it.
He felt unsettled.
Anxious.
He knew Malleus could take care of himself. There’s little in this world that could take him out.
Still.
Where is he?
Back in Briar Valley, he always knew where Malleus was: the castle or the cottage.
Their world was small and he knew he preached to broaden their horizon and meet others.
But…at least he’d always know their location. One way or another.
Even when Malleus thought he was sneakily running off to visit the nearby town, he knew.
But now…
Where did he go?
“Far Cry Cradle.”
The magic that reflects his soul, the reason why he manifested it, it doesn’t escape him, the irony of why he uses it now—this time to find Malleus.
Azul stared at the entity before him.
Living in the sea made him aware of dangers no man on land were aware. Tales told to keep mermans away from the darker depths.
Azul knew the dangers of the sea, but he had never known the fears of land.
Before him lay darkness incarnate, shadows moving with every step; crimson eyes bright as fresh blood.
He resisted the urge to press the panic button. He doubted he’d even have the chance with the slithering of vines on the floor.
“Let’s have a chat, Ashengrotto.”
“I found him.”
Sebek let out a sigh as Silver relaxed his tense shoulders.
“Where is he father?”
“Having a marriage ceremony with the Prefect and others.”
Silence.
“What?!”
Lilia’s shoulders shook at the response he received.
That boy…he better call soon.
It is forever funny to me how Malleus just left without letting anyone know. He said his time as the master of the dream world is over and now he’s going to go off to a wedding because he was especially invited. Bye family. 😂💞
You know, as if he didn’t wreck us all for over two years for said family lolol
I couldn’t stop thinking how would Lilia and the others react? I mean we’ve already seen how Sebek and Silver runs after him, but Lilia? He always seems to know where Malleus is (book 6) or he sent him off with others (events). This time he didn’t know at all. 😆😆
I feel Lilia would be happy and yet have mixed feelings. He’s happy because Malleus is being independent, going out, making friends and memories, etc.
But mixed feelings because…where is he? Why wasn’t he told? He always knew where he was before or he had an inkling. Lilia never that far away or Malleus under the watchful eyes of others. But this time? Nothing. Nothing at all.
So I feel he would pout just a little. 😆🤣💞💞 maybe feeling a little bit of empty nest like he did in the beach event. Happy but also pouty 🥰🥰💞💞
(I really like how I wrote Lilia here. I always love describing him as a different entity or something unnatural or different. It’s one of my faves to make him more darkness and creature like.)
[Using this as my summoning circle to hopefully get a cute Malleus story and voice lines. I hope we get something related to souvenirs or a phone call back or something. At the very least, I hope we get a beautiful Malleus groovy 💞🙏]

Mother
Yuu = reader = female. Yuu is over the age of 20. The events take place after book 7
Silver's life was never “normal” from other people's point of view. His non-blood father was a fairy with a perpetually young face, a former general feared by enemies and all Briar Valley. Growing up Silver in the forest, deprived of all the benefits of civilization, he trained every day to become a knight and protect the king and his father. Together with his father, they used their own hands to find and prepare food.
And when he entered the school, you could say he was learning to live again. For Silver, all this modern technology was magic, although he lived in a house where magic was something ordinary. Silver was surprised by many things at first, but he soon got used to it.
Now new changes were taking place in Silver's life, or rather not by the white-haired man himself, but by his father… But the young knight himself was indirectly affected. Lilia began to meet Yuu, a young woman from another world, who did not possess a single grain of magic. This girl appeared out of nowhere and immediately attracted attention. First of all, Yuu was the only girl in the school. Secondly, being in her first year, she was the oldest, no one knew exactly Yuu's real age, and the girl herself said every time: “It's not proper to ask a lady about her age!” But everyone agreed that Yuu was definitely over 20 years old. Simply because only an adult complained about taxes, lack of time for everything, and expensive medicines.
Silver had crossed paths with Yuu a couple times before the events with Malleus. Silver was uncomfortable recalling those events. It came out that Silver ended up calling Yuu 'mom'. It was just that Yuu's demeanor and voice was somehow more motherly. A little later, at the riding club, Silver learned that many people called Yuu 'mom', and some guys complained, “Just when I thought I had finally gotten rid of my mother's guidance, a second mother appeared at school. A nightmare! The quiet school life is over.” Silver didn't know what a mother's love was, he only had his adoptive father, but deep down he was happy that he had touched at least a little bit of his mother's so-called “mother's guidance”. And in his father's dream, Silver kept calling Yuu 'mom'. By the way, Sebek also called Yuu “mom” a couple times. And the girl herself reacted each time, “Are you kids okay?”
In Lilia Silver's dream, it seemed that Yuu's main fear was if he or Sebek or Grim got wounds. After each fight, the girl would look at the boys, treat their wounds if necessary. Grumbling and if necessary, she could argue with Lilia to protect the guys. Silver remembered the moment when it was finally over. Everyone was rejoicing, dancing and laughing. Malleus had given Silver his father's last name and they were finally a complete family. A slap rang out, it was Yuu hitting Lilia. Lilia's head was turned to the side and his eyes were widened with shock.
“That's for making your sons cry,” was the only thing Yuu said, and as if nothing had happened a second ago, continued to celebrate further. And towards the end of the evening, Lilia walked over and asked: “Yuu, do you remember that dialog we had?” “Which one…? And you about that conversation, to be honest, I forgot about it,” Yuu said sincerely, but everyone could hear some trepidation in the girl's voice. “It's mutual,” Yuu looked at Lilia with shock in her eyes, and in the next second, his father kissed Yuu. Everyone was shocked.
Lilia and Yuu started dating. Silver's father went off the rails. Lilia became more clingy, greedy, and reluctant to leave Yuu. At some point, everyone began to think that Yuu was now living in Lilia's room. The young woman often spent her free time with the Diasomnia boys. Watching movies with them, having tea parties, just chatting. And a huge plus was that Yuu knew how to cook. Silver, Sebek, and Malleus ate Yuu's food with tears of happiness and begged her to cook more often.
Lilia was happy, and Silver was happy for his father. And the young man himself was happy, he had a mom. A mom who praises him. A mom who scolds him for his carelessness that led to his injury. A mom who treated his wounds and asked, “Does it sting?” and gently blew on the wound. The mom who helped brush his hair. The mom who covered him with a blanket, kissed his forehead, and wished him pleasant dreams. The mom who hugged me, stroked my head and said: “You're doing great.” Silver, realized what a complete family was and his heart was overflowing with love. “Yuu, can I call you mom?”

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ making amends(?)
summary: the flirty regular at your work is someone you used to know tropes: coffee shop au, hurt/comfort (BARELY), exes to lovers characters: lilia additional info: romantic, gender neutral reader, reader is not yuu, fae!reader
When one finds a number on an empty coffee cup, they expect it to be from the barista, and not the customer.
But here you are, an empty, lukewarm cup in your palm, phone number written at the bottom.
"For cashier - call me ;)"
You really have no use for this- or time. It's trash, number or not. And, so, there it goes, along with the empty syrup pumps and the stirring sticks.
Of course, on Tuesday, it's an email.
On Wednesday, it's a gamertag.
On Thursday, it's a home address.
On Friday, it's a number again. This time, with a note:
"uninterested or playing hard to get?"
You let this one sit on the counter, teasing the customer who had so brazenly handed it back to you, drained of its bitter contents. This one seems to like the taste of black coffee- he calls it sweet.
On Saturday, "you should know I don't give up so easily"
And on Sunday, "dinner?"
This one, you take home with you. It sits on your lap, cold and empty, but stirring something warm within you. And you call the number. And it's him.
"You work an awful lot, don't you?" he says, holding his chin in his palm and leaning against the table.
"You're there every day of the week."
You take a deep sip of your drink, tart and sweet, something he'd ordered for you.
"...It's more of a hobby,"
"Oh?" he asks, tilting his head to the side. "And how's that?"
There's something familiar about him. His mannerisms, his fanged smile, even the way the candlelight catches in his dark hair. And yet, you're sure you've never met this man in your life.
"I'm retired," you shrug. "I have an inheritance, so I don't need money. I just need something to do during the day."
"And you chose making coffee?"
"I enjoy watching people,"
He hums, as if approving of your answer. He hasn't touched his drink or his squid ink pasta (a suitably strange choice for him), taking to studying you instead.
"It's refreshing to meet a fae who's open to the human way of living," he says. "I'm fond of it myself. I've taken quite a liking to online gaming."
You raise an eyebrow. "That's a bit different from a job, isn't it?"
"Oh, sure, but I've already a human job. I'm raising a human son,"
Your eyebrows raise at that, and you set down your drink. "Have you? Now, that's not something you hear every day,"
He nods. "Oh, yes. He's grown to be quite the studious and serious young man,"
"You must be very proud,"
"I am. And you? Any family?"
You clear your throat. "...None, no. I left Briar Valley some time ago. Never settled down,"
"And why's that?"
"Ah... war," you offer. He frowns. "Your family was killed?"
"They were in the army,"
"Army... army..." he mutters, drumming his fingertips on the table. "Hm. I suppose my memory isn't what it used to be- your surname doesn't remind me of anyone I served with."
"You served?"
He chuckles. "Oh, yes. I was the General,"
Oh... NO!
In the dark of night, the flickering candlelight of the restaurant, you can almost make out the long-haired, haughty, high-and-mighty General Lilia Vanrouge.
You stand, . "It's YOU!"
Lilia blinks his big eyes, near innocently. "Me? Have we met?"
"You changed your hair," you scowl. "And you look much less... mean without your armor. Don't you remember? When my family-"
Some foreign sense of familiarity flickers across Lilia's face, and he stands just as abruptly, jolting the table.
"You were the- ah, ah! Your brother was- and your father-"
You cross your arms. "Died while serving in your brigade! And when you came to offer your condolences to me-"
"-I seduced you- ah, how awful of me!"
"Yes- NO! Don't agree with me! I should be furious!"
Lilia sits back down, waving off the stares from the other tables. "Are you?"
You follow suit. "Well, I would like an apology,"
"Oh- yes, of course," he mumbles, "I am terribly sorry. I tried to look for you after the war, while I was traveling, but... you must have already left the Valley. I can't imagine the hardships you faced as a fae in that time."
You glower, almost angrier that he's sympathizing with you than you were when he was giving you that doe-eyed look of surprise.
"It must have been awful," he goes on. "I only had a taste of the hatred, but you lived in it- and with no one to come home to- oh, how very, very awful. I would be beside myself if I could speak to the younger me..."
You let him wear himself out, rambling on about his travels, his misadventures, and some good chicken he ate in the Scalding Sands, and then you wave him off.
"That's enough," you say. "Though it hardly fixes anything."
"I'm not sure paying for dinner will cover that, either," Lilia sighs.
He doesn't seem particularly sorry about it. But you're not particularly mad. Not anymore, at least.
"You may as well," you say. Lilia perks up at the proposal, and he digs through a hot pink wallet for thaumarks.
"Whatever else I can do to make amends- I've been working on that, lately. I decided I shouldn't die with so many regrets-"
"Please. You're not that old,"
"Heh. You'd be surprised at what years of war and children can do to a man," he says, almost smiling. "I'm sure you have your fair share of mistakes, too."
You roll your eyes. "We all do. What's important is that we live-"
"In the moment," he finishes, folding his wallet and putting it in his pocket. "So, you forgive me, then?"
You ponder on that. It was an awful long time ago, and though you do hold a grudge, it wasn't any more traumatizing than anything else...
...Moreover, this man- this petit, pink-haired fae in a pinstripe bowtie and board shorts- is someone you haven't met yet. You knew the General well, too well, but Lilia Vanrouge?
A complete stranger.
And perhaps one worth knowing, at that.
"...I'll think about it," you decide. "You'll have to earn it, though. It'll take many dinners to make up for this."
Lilia perks up and the promise, standing to help you out of your seat with a gentlemanly offering of his arm. You take it.
"Ah, then I look forward to my punishment,"

Love you all. You are appreciated and your are worthy. Treat yourself with care. 💖
It starts to get dark but there are voices still. You haven't bothered going to dump your plate in the bin in hopes of avoiding another awkward encounter. Usually, you can wait these things out. Not tonight.
You swat another mosquito before it can bite your neck. You grunt and look at your hand. You wipe the guts on the stone beneath you. Ugh.
You yawn. You can probably sneak by. You're pretty sure no one would notice. When do they ever?
Well, your dad notices everything you do wrong. Or your brother calls attention to anything that might suddenly become an offense. Or there's Nick. He noticed you. Why, you can't say.
A gassy belch draws you from your indecision. You look up in disgust as a shadow lumbers around the pushes, grumbling as the thorns scrape their arm. The man smacks the roses and yipes, rubbing his hand from another jab.
"Bastard," Jethro garbles and burps again. You can smell the liquor on him. "Eh, there she is," he stops, swaying as the lamplight from further up the lawn peek through the vines. "I knew you been hiding from me. Uncle Jethro gets no hug?"
You stare at him dumbly. "Uh, sorry, no I don't..."
He staggers towards you and spreads his arms wide. "Come on. Just one hug for Uncy."
You scrunch your nose. He's not your uncle. You wish he'd stop saying that.
"Please, I don't like hugs." You lean away from him.
"That ain't nice, is it? I'm always nice," he snarls and grabs your arm. "Mm, you're really growing up. Good thing you don't look like Charles."
He yanks you and as you resist, you slide off the rock. The sudden shift in your weight teeters the drunken man and he falls on top of you. He cackles as you writhe beneath him.
"Eh, gettin' frisky," he laughs as his hand crawls up your side. You whimper and whine as he crushes you. "I won't tell if you don't--"
His words are choked from him as suddenly the pressure lifts off of you. Jethro coughs as another figure holds him by the scruff of his shirt. You push yourself up on your elbows as Nick holds him like a puppet.
"What are you doing? That how you treat young ladies?"
"She was asking for it--"
"Didn't sound like it," Nick spins him and shoves him into the roses. Jethro jowls as he recoils and pulls a thorn from his cheek. "Get the fuck out of here, Briar."
"Fowler," the other man slurs bitterly. "Fucking upstart."
Jethro stumbles away in a slew of grumbles. You stare after him, your heartbeat receding to a less thunderous temp. Nick turns to you and offers his hand.
"Never liked that guy," he says. "You alright, princess?"
You gulp and take his hand. He pulls you. Easily. You're not that surprised, not after you saw his arms. You try not to think of that in the moment.
"Thanks, I... I think," you let him go and fold your arm across your chest. "I... I'm sorry."
"You're sorry? For what?" He wonders.
"I don't know, I guess... causing trouble."
"Don't think it was you," he intones. "Just glad I heard that idiot. You sure your okay?"
"Uh huh," you nod.
He steps close and you flinch. He shows his palm. The shadows pool and keep him obscured. Only his silhouette is limned by the faint light drifting between the buds.
"You just..." he touches your hair. "There, got it." He pulls away the long strand of grass. "Better." He tilts his head. You feel him looking at you but can't see his eyes. "Perfect."
You look down. Your cheeks pinch and burn. "Thanks."
"No problem," he flicks the grass away. "You should go inside. It's dark out here."
"Um, sure." You turn and pick up your plate. You stand straight and face him again. "I'm sorry."
"Princess, no more sorrys," he drawls. "You just go inside and take care of yourself. That's what you can do for me. Take a hot bath and get yourself tucked in."
Something about his voice, about the air around him, makes you quiver. His words are nothing special and yet they feel like more. Like he's even picturing you in the bath. That thought makes you squeak.
"You alright?" He asks a third time.
"Fine," you insist. "I-- I gotta go."
You flit by him. A twig snaps under him as you brush by and he lets out a surprised grunt. You hurry away, too mortified to look back. You're so stupid. You know it's all in your head. That he wasn't really saying anything but what he said. Stupid, stupid, stupid. You know better than that. He's too old and too handsome. And you shouldn't even think that last part.
💜
You sit on the back deck, your textbook cradled in your lap, notebook leaning on one side. Your dad never liked you taking notes on your laptop. You don't remember when you do it that way. He read that somewhere. Besides, he paid for that computer so you better take care of it.
The sun beats down as you hunch over your work. It's one of two summer classes you're taking. Everyone else you know in your stream are on vacation but you're plucking away. Dad says if you take a half-load in the off-season, you'll finish sooner and can start on grad school sooner. That means you'll be on track before everyone else. You're in no rush but it would probably get you out of his house quicker and that's likely just as much his reasoning.
The gate squeaks. You don't look up. You assume it's Austin sneaking in after another bender at Colin's place.
"Good book?" They stop on the top step.
You sit up so fast it makes you dizzy. You blink away the silver stars. Nick smirks as he grips the railing and leans on one foot.
"Oh, um... advanced biology." You fidget with the highlighter nervously. It slips out of your grasp and rolls across the deck.
Before you can get up, he scoops the marker off the wood. He approaches and holds it out. You reach for it with a murmured thanks.
"You must be dying out in the heat," he muses.
"Shades not bad," you look up at the umbrella over the patio table. You're in capris and a loose tee. It's not as bad as jeans.
"Guess not," he agrees. He's in a jacket and button-up. He's probably feeling it more.
"I don't know if my dad's around," you say.
"Sure," he says. "No problem. I was just hoping to give him that bottle of scotch."
"Oh..." You're never good with visitors. He's more difficult as you try not to focus on how soft his hair looks.
"I guess I could leave it with you... unless..." he narrows his eyes. "How old are you?"
You sniff, "twenty-one."
"Old enough," he winks and puts the dark bottle on the table. "So... how are you?"
"I'm... good?" You tap the highlighter on the notebook. "Um, you?"
"Good, good." He plants his hand on the table and leans in. "You have a good night after the barbecue? Take that bath?"
"Er... showered," you utter dumbly.
His eyes are lit by the sunlight. It brings out his features even more. The contrast of his hair and irises is almost hypnotic.
"I thought classes were over," He looks at your lap.
"Oh, uh... summer term."
"Summer term? No fun?" He clucks. "Or did dad make that decision too?"
You shrug. You push your teeth into your lower lip and look at the bottle of scotch. "I'll give him your gift."
"Or maybe... there's a cute guy in summer classes?" He suggests.
You snort then shield your nose and mouth behind your hand. You shake your head. "No."
"No? Well, maybe I could sign up." You look at him, confused. He chuckles. "Kidding. Well, don't work too hard, princess. Woman like you, she needs some pampering. Be good to yourself."
"Sure, uh, er, I'll tell dad you were here."
"You can." He stands and taps two fingers on the table. "I'd be lying if I said I just came here for him."
His brows rise and he smirks. He turns slowly and saunters across the deck. You stare, unable to do more than that. He can't mean you. You're misunderstanding.
💜
Your dad's voice booms up the stairs. That's never good. You push your laptop onto the bed and bounce off it. What did you do now? Or is there something you didn't do?
You rush out of your room and down the stairs. You stop at the bottom, breathless. He's not alone. You're mortified.
"There you are. So, where'd you hide it?" He accuses.
You look between him and Nick. It's been a week since the barbecue, half as long since you last saw him. You shake your head.
"Where did I hide what?" You ask.
Your dad sighs. "Nick told me he gave you some scotch."
"Oh, in the cabinet. You told me to put it there."
"Or you put it there and forgot to tell me," he scoffs.
"Ah, take it easy, Chuck. Mystery solved. No harm, no foul," Nick lightly wraps your dad's arm with his knuckles. "Seems like you could use a drink, huh?"
"Sure," your dad grits as he glares at you. "Why don't you go wait in the den?"
Nick lingers for a minute as he sends your dad a look, then you. He backs up slowly then turns on his heel. He tucks his hands in his pocket as he passes through the square doorway.
Your dad steps closer and lowers his voice, "put a bra on. You're being gross."
You flinch and look down. You hug yourself. It's almost nine and you weren't expecting company. You're in a cotton camisole and your coziest pajama pants.
"Sorry, I didn't--"
"Go," he shoos you meanly with his fingers.
You pout and turn away. You go back upstairs as he heads for the den. How embarrassing. Not just the way he talks to you but your carelessness. Did Nick notice? That idea makes your chest twinge.
You go into your room and shut the door. You go to your dresser and look in the mirror above it. You drop your arm. Your nipples poke against the fabric. There's no way he didn't see. Oh gosh.
You cover your tits with your hands but the feeling of your hard nipples makes your pelvis flicker. That's strange. You press your palms snugly to your chest and squeeze. As you do, you picture Nick behind you. You're startled at the image of his hands on you instead of your own. You gasp and rip your hands away.
You're breathless as you gape at yourself. You can't look away from your nipples. You bite your lip and run your hands over your tits again. You hook your fingers under the camisole and pull the cotton down to expose yourself. Your eyes round.
Would he like how they look? Stop! But you can't. You cup your tits then squeeze them. Do they feel nice? You bounce them and turn to the side. They're all the same, right? You brush your thumbs over your nipples and shiver. Just fondling yourself is making you feel... squidgy. Is that a word?
You pull your shirt up and back away. You shiver and go to your bed. You sit. You blow out a long breath.
This is bad. Very bad. Your mind tends to do this. You spiral into these thoughts and get so lost.
Nick is Nick. He's your dad's friend. He's older than you. A lot older than you. He doesn't want a loser like you.
You squirm as you feel something in your pants. It's... wet. You trace along the elastic of your pajamas and lift one side of your butt. You reach beneath you and feel the slickness along your cunt. You squeak.
You're not stupid. You know biology. You study it. But you're not experienced. You just never really put much into it. You figured all that stuff could wait, if it ever happened. You just never wanted it but right now, you feel like you need it. Desperately. It thrums like your pulse.
You can handle this. It won't be that hard. It will go away. All you have to do is avoid Nick and it's not like you'll see him that much. He's busy and you're busy. He has all his work at the agency and you have your studying. Besides, he could never want you like that. He's only nice because of your dad.
