"You should be honoured," he whispers. "Most girls are beneath my notice."

“Charlene!”

"There you are, you little sneak!"

"I've found you," he whispers. "At last."

"Don't worry, darling," he coos. "I'm here, now."

He looks you up and down, then rolls his eyes. "I've no time to waste on you."

He narrows his eyes before turning away with a scoff. "Not worth the effort."

He stops, fixing you with a glare. "I'm a busy. Lucky for you, I have places to be."

He walks on. You feel tense.

(Else: If Avery not angry)

He raises an eyebrow, smirking. "Is that your idea of a proper greeting?" He laughs as he walks on.

He stops and stares at you, brow furrowed. He brushes past you without a word.

He crosses his arms and holds up his phone. "Do you mind?" He walks on, trying to pick up his conversation.

You feel a little silly.

Bailey:

He doesn't break eye contact as he passes, but ultimately leaves you alone.

He stops in front of you, stares in silence, then continues on his way.

He stands in front of you and raises his phone. You hear a click. He leaves without a word.

You let out a shaky breath as he walks on.

Briar:

He smirks, eyes you up and down, then walks right past you.

He bursts out laughing. "You? That's rich."

He lets out a sharp bark of laughter. "Cute. Now get out of my way.”

He peers at you over his shoulder as he walks on. You feel tense.

Harper:

He stops. His polite smile doesn't falter.

“Lashing out at innocent passersby is a sure sign of stress, you know."

"For some people, anger is just a cry for help. Please, be well."

"You look troubled. Don't be afraid to ask for help."

He walks on. You feel tense.

Eden:

(If in the forest)

He stares for a moment, then silently slinks between the trees

He stares for a moment, then silently slinks into the fog.

You let out a shaky breath.

Kylar:

He mutters something under his breath. You can't make it out. He scurries past you.

He tenses as you turn around, barely managing an awkward smile and a wave before hurrying past you.

He freezes up, before bolting in the opposite direction. You're left bewildered.

Leighton:

He tuts. "How uncouth. If I weren't so busy, I'd discipline you myself."

He raises an eyebrow, then turns away. "I'll overlook that remark."

He looks down at you with contempt, muttering under his breath. "Disrespectful brats."

He walks on. You feel a little silly.

Morgan:

He stops in his tracks and gasps. "You're right! I forgot the scones!" He runs off in the opposite direction, leaving you bewildered.

He stumbles past you as if you weren't there. You watch him leave, babbling to himself all the while.

He smiles and waves as he walks past you. You feel silly, and more than a little confused.

Whitney:

He shoves past you, almost knocking you over. You dust yourself off, thankful nothing worse became of it.

He throws his hands up, smiling innocently. "Just admiring the view from back here." He smacks your bottom as he walks on.

Just as he draws near, he jumps at you with a loud "Boo!" You flinch on instinct. "Wuss," he laughs as he leaves you behind.

Avery chats on his phone as he passes. He ignores you.

Avery peers at you from the corner of his eye as he passes. He leaves you alone.

Avery walks by. He doesn't glance at you.

Bailey:

Bailey walks by, too busy on the phone to acknowledge you.

Bailey peers at you from the corner of his eye as he passes. He leaves you alone.

Bailey thumps his shoulder against yours as he passes. He doesn't look up.

You let out a shaky breath.

Briar:

Briar winks over his shoulder as he walks on by.

Briar stops, stares at you over his shoulder, then continues on his way.

Briar walks by. He doesn't so much as glance at you.

Eden:

Suddenly seized by primal fear, you turn around. You're alone.

Eden stomps past you, almost shoving you to the ground in his haste.

You hear movement behind you. You turn to catch a glimpse of Eden/a large figure disappearing between the trees/into the fog/into an alley*.

*(Depending on location: Forest, Moor, elsewhere)

Harper:

Harper jots notes in a journal as he passes. He ignores you.

Harper peers at you from the corner of his eye as he passes. He leaves you alone.

Harper walks by. He doesn't glance at you.

Kylar:

Kylar walks right by you, his gaze fixed to the floor.

You feel a tug on your arm from behind. When you turn, nobody's there.

Kylar passes without looking up, leaving you alone.

Leighton:

Leighton leers as he passes, but otherwise leaves you alone.

Leighton gives you a passing nod. He continues on his way.

Leighton walks by, too busy tinkering with his watch to notice you.

Morgan:

Morgan cheerfully hums as he passes, all but ignoring you.

Morgan stumbles past you as if you weren't there.

You hear a gasp behind you. You turn in time to catch a fleeting glimpse of Morgan/a figure scurrying away.

Whitney:

Whitney flicks a cigarette butt over his shoulder as he passes. It bounces off your cheek.

Whitney smacks your bottom as he passes. He flashes a smug smirk over his shoulder.

Soul Mate AU

Soulmarks: tattoo like in appearance, soul marks form on all involved parties when the youngest member reaches their age of majority. Touching someone's soulmark without their consent is considered incredibly taboo and violating. Touching someone’s soulmark when baring the matching mark is supposed to be incredibly pleasurable for all parties involved, more so if it is the two marks that are touching.

Lower dominance waits for more private moments. A teasing stroke over your mark while shielded from prying eyes, shivering if you return the favor and ghost a hand over their mark.

God, there’s so much pressure on you to act absolutely perfect if you actually want Avery to let you walk around with a matching mark. 

That said, they like touching your mark.

At low anger, they’re tender, tips of their fingers gliding over the marks. 

They may even let you touch their marks, though not often. It’s very rare for Avery to allow it. Something about you touching their marks makes them feel out of sorts, out of control. So, it’s only when they’re drained from work that they indulge in the lazy pleasure of allowing you to take care of them in this way. A hand tucked between their legs and your tongue tracing their marks. 

High rage Avery presses down on your marks hard enough to make your vision blur, pain mixed into the act that would normally bring pleasure. But, you won’t make them do that too often, will you?

What do you mean that the pain they brace themself for never comes? Or, it does, but mostly covered in strange euphoria. 

But, Bailey knows what that means, new anger sparking within them and fueling their ability to pin you down, to tear at your clothes, to expose your mark.

And they press down on it, thumbs digging into the soft of your thighs as you squirm under them. They hope you feel more pain than pleasure.

They have to keep you, they think. Who knows how you could be used against them if others find out? 

And what are you to them, anyway? Important, one way or another, apparently.

Varey rarely touches your marks after that and forbids you from touching their’s.

Yet, sometimes, you’ll wake up with Bailey’s hands pressed against the mark, palm flat and fingers splayed, dark eyes fixed on that point of contact.

Oh, new lil star walking into Briar’s lovely establishment with marks that match the one that just recently bloomed across their knuckles. How interesting. 

Enjoys taking your hand in theirs, ringed thumb rolling over the mark on your knuckles, watching you shiver at such a simple action. 

Especially likes touching your marks in public and letting others see how it affects you. 

That said, not keen on you doing the same to them. When especially tense, they don't mind the pad of your thumb following the line across the ridges of their knuckles while in their office. Lets their head tilt back, eyes shutting as their muscles relax.

It's actually quite easy to overlook their mark, looking almost like a scar. 

Brushing your thumb over the mark has Black Wolf relaxing, regardless of if they’re the alpha or not.

When they’re the alpha, they’ll climb on top of you, rutting against your thigh as you trace the mark.

When you’re the alpha, they roll over, wanting you to straddle them as your fingers linger.

As for them, they like licking your mark, regardless of how close to your eye it is.

So nervous when they realize they share a mark with you. 

Covers up their own mark and it takes them a while to build up the courage to tell you that you have matching marks.

Very gentle the first time they touch your mark, asking if it’s okay in a voice barely above a whisper, fine tremor running through their hands.

Nervous when you first touch their mark, but doesn’t regret it a bit.

Likes hooking your pinkies together, a cross between holding hands and a pinky promise.

Very gentle when they touch your mark, brushing over your wrist like it’s something fragile, breakable. 

Only really allows you to touch their mark when at their apartment, though if you’re holding hands then it’s easy to pretend that it’s an accident if you press your marks together and make Doren stumble a little.

Don’t touch their marks. 

Don’t do it.

Even though you bare their match, their mirror, do not touch Eden’s marks.

At least, not until they trust you.

Even then, you’re risking your ass to touch Eden’s marks.

They like it, though it feels incredibly vulnerable, thus, don’t do it.

You can get away with it during sex, usually. Unless they’re punishing you. Then you’re gonna get slapped. 

Also more likely to get away with touching their marks when they’re falling asleep, little shiver of pleasure running through them as they drift off.

All this said, they’re touching your marks whenever the fuck they want.

Especially loves grabbing you by the chin and rubbing their thumb along the marks under your jaw. Double so if you’ve been acting like a brat. A good reminder that you’re theirs, no matter what.

The more corrupt they become, the more likely it is that you can coax Sydney into taking off their shirt and letting you trace the marks on their back.

At their most corrupt, Sydney will slip their hand up the back of your shirt in somewhat public places to stroke over your marks.

Forever in love with the shady bastards... Primarily Bailey, Remy, and Briar!

Going to the same school as Bailey, Briar, Eden, and Darryl... and meeting the aristocrat-level Remy every now and then. The thought is very yummy~

The perks of being friends with your fellow orphan Bailey was that he was a delinquent who could bend anyone who dare to lay their hands on you most times. He's like Whitney except that you were his soft spot (or perhaps a weak spot). If he couldn't take them all down, he got friends who were willing to help him, Briar and Eden.

Darryl was just a sweet boy you met in the library every now and then. He looked unnerved every day but your presence always soothed him down.

There were times you'd sneak out of the orphanage without Bailey to explore the whole town. Chilling in the park, you met this one attractive older guy, probably in his late 20s to early 30s and before long, the two of you were friends. He would usually just have your arms slung in his and fuck you for the night but there was this ‘aura’ of yours that made him reconsider how he saw you.

Either way, he was content with the random occasional meeting that ended up in the cute cozy cafe across the park. Bailey didn't seem happy whenever you came home with his expensive car but couldn't say anything because Avery did handle your 'rent' either out of good heart or not.

But visiting the park was getting boring for you and before long, you met the rich preppy boy in the horse riding school. Apparently, Avery planned to spend the day with you riding horses and Remy was just coincidentally there to play around, killing his time with horses.

It wasn't anything special when Remy got closer to you, he was just trying to look closer at you considering how pretty your clothes were, alas a bit inconvenient to be worn as a horse rider. Just as he thought about it, the horse tipped you down and your pristine white clothes were soiled. Avery wasn't necessarily skilled but he seemed to know how to take reign of his horse, trying to approach you. But Remy was faster than Avery and it gave him a chance to play savior while all he wanted was to look at your face.

Avery's voice snapped Remy out of his daze, he barely helped you with anything and apologized immediately.

The day was spent with Remy staring at you while you and Remy rode around. Just before you could leave, Remy made sure to slip a letter for you unknowingly by Avery. Wren whistled playfully as he watched the flustered Remy.

If you ever want to ride these horses again, you are free to come on your own, at no charge.

And ever since then, you'd frequent the horse riding school when you have your free time, getting to know more about Remy and Wren as time goes by. Aside from Avery's financial support, it seemed that Remy had more influence with the orphanage owner, allowing you to live there rent-free. The money from Avery then went to Bailey, helping him pass the week bruise-free. Remy would also make you play with his 'friends', mainly Harper and Niki. Harper was not hiding his feelings for you at all, always trying to please and win your heart even though he knew it was impossible. Niki on the other hand was content to eternalize your beauty with his camera.

Times passed and Eden dropped out, completely gone from the city and roaming within the forest. Years passed. A long time had passed to the point Briar was the brothel owner. Darryl was then the strip club owner, a space way safer than Briar's brothel could ever be. Niki, Harper, and Wren worked with Remy's underground farm, completely fine with how he trafficked humans to turn them into mindless cattle. Avery started to switch companions whenever he got bored or furious over his current one. And Bailey was the same monstrous orphanage caretaker, somehow even worse than the previous ones. Far from how you would ever expect him to be.

Everyone grew older, but you didn't.

No one knew how you died but Eden mumbled something about the city being dangerous. Everyone knew it was dangerous but this was the first time he took action, to leave the cursed city. Bailey knew you were seeing multiple rich guys but it was his first time to meet Remy. He looked devastated unlike what Bailey expected. He thought Remy wouldn't feel anything should you be in danger or perhaps, the unthinkable death.

Remy seemed genuine in his fondness for you, just like Bailey.

"Your family is loaded and shit, why can't they protect them? They can just load their guns and..." Bailey choked, it had been years since he last cried. Even from how much he shook, his fist remained in Remy's shirt collar.

"Your people could have prevented this."

His implication was to have people stalk you. He would never be against it if it meant he could have you avoid this unthinkable fate.

"Your fucking people could have loaded their fucking guns and shot the bastards who did this!"

Another fight almost broke out if not from Briar and Wren separating them two. Remy who had always been smart with his mouth remained silent, pupils shaking from the tears threatening to spill again. He didn't want to speak as he could feel his throat croaking. Briar and Niki tried to calm everyone down, proving to be the only two people who could keep their emotions in check the best.

Harper was already bawling like a baby, trying to use his limited knowledge as a doctor to perhaps bring a miracle for you. Niki would love to eternalize this moment if not for the fear of his camera's clicking noise. The despair and angel simmering once your 'aura' completely dissipated in thin air, it was a delectable scene for him. Like a painter trying to record the moment as their next masterpiece.

Darry was devastated to be one of the last people to notice your passing. Avery was... inscrutable. Or perhaps Bailey just couldn't pay enough attention to anyone else anymore. The two of you promised a future together. Not entirely in a romantic sense like a marriage or any sort of committed relationship; but Bailey didn't mind that. As long as it was a future for him and you.

You tried to ease down your heartbeats, you could have sworn you saw blood. Knife. And a brat around your age. Stabbed like a lump of meat ready to be minced as dinner. You swallowed your vomit back as you scurried out of Remy's estate, fearing for your life.

Bailey wasn't lying.

You wished you were running instead of tip-toeing like you were on an iceberg otherwise, you could have avoided bumping into Remy with his silver antlered mask.

"Why are you walking around without your companion?" Remy questioned you as his eyes observed you. Remy kneeled on one knee, his gloved hand holding you by the ankle, "And bare feet too. Tired of dancing and standing? We can have you resting in one of the guest rooms."

You couldn't refuse him, too scared to be the next fowl. This was way different than the fear you had for Whitney and his friends.

"Be my guest, darling." He kissed your foot with a smile. Undeniably clean despite the dusty carpeted floors.

What do you think of the shady bastards of the town? Like Bailey, Remy, Briar… Wren, Avery~

Yessssss, thank you so much for asking me about them �� DoL is currently helping me through my depression phase, lol!

To be fair, I somehow managed to avoid Wren until now, idk how, but they probably weren't relevant in my playthroughs, lol. Can't say much about them, though! That said, I like all the characters in the game, but I do have some thoughts and feelings about them, I hope I get to write some in the future!!

So, the shadiest PoI in town from most to least favorite for me:

Avery

Love, love, love them! Absolutely always unlock them because... duh!! Good money, too, lol! Jokes aside, I love saving money all week just to dress up for them and play a nice trophy darling at their events! And the hotel room scene? I love it! And they are always so happy when you impress them with dancing or your English, and I'll be happy to play along with them. Yes, of course, my love, anything you say, my love (and anything you pay for, lol)! I think their title is such a farce; they are probably a trust fund kid, let's be honest, but I'm not complaining, lol! I have seen almost all of their events by now, and I am really looking forward to how their storylines will continue in the future since there's so much still unexplained and baffling, but I'll keep dating them; they are absolutely my favorite, and one of the few PoI that seem to actually care about you despite being fishy.

Harper

Listen, I got sent to the Asylum only once, and I've been avoiding it like the plague ever since. But I found myself quite intrigued with Harper afterward. What is their motive? Why are they doing what they are doing? Is it just scientific interest? Their encounters say otherwise, especially those at the check-up and underground farm! I know there must be more behind this doctor, and I need to find out, no matter what! They really have the "innocent" look down to a T, and then you land in the Asylum or the underground farm, and BOOM! Scumbag! Either way, good character, very fishy person, and the questions are eating me alive.

Briar

Oh, I hate them! But I love them. But I hate them. This could go on forever. Look, they are helpful. They have a good purpose if you want that fake ID. And you can make very good money relatively early on with Briar's help. But no matter how hard I try, raising their love is so damn hard I always give up. The opportunities are too small, and then you sign up for a show and get kidnapped or something, and they'll be so mad again. Also, it feels like you can do nothing without their permission, and it's annoying (kinda possessive, eh?). I just wanted to see Landry, why am I getting kidnapped in broad daylight from the Pub??? (I have not forgiven Briar for that, it really hurt my ego!) However, with Briar, there's a lot to do at least, and they possibly play a lot of roles in your daily life in DoL, and that's why I think they are quite entertaining, but I wish we could do more with them.

Leighton & Quinn

I didn't mind them a lot until I saw their endings for the Avery Event, where you are invited to poker night, and they intrigued me! Since then, I have gotten pretty close to Leighton, doing both the Blackmail Leighton and Get Blackmailed by Leighton events, and I have unlocked the archeology site with Quinn. They are both ultimately really fucking shady, but much like with Avery, there is still so much unexplained (although hinted at), and I wish we could have more interactions with them (and maybe actually make a change, like when we blackmail Leighton or rat them out to the police that it actually has consequences and punishments). So yeah, not my favorite PoI, but I am still really invested in them.

Bailey

Honestly, Bailey is pretty unlikeable. I hate how they want 4k every week; I mean, it's easier in the later game, but man, I'm trying to save to renovate a fucking farm; cut me some SLACK. (Also, can they stop dropping hope in the orphanage all the time?? I am working so hard to build it up!!!) Then again, Bailey saved me a few times from events, and I felt really thankful for that. There's so much going on with them. I hope we can build a relationship that will lead to better co-existence or partnership with them in the future. I feel like they could become a more important role with more direct events in the future. Still, their personality is, yeah, unlikeable and the scummiest of them all, really. Probably feels like that since you really can't escape them either without harsh consequences, so yeah. It's complicated.

Remy

In the beginning, I really liked Remy. Liked visiting the Ranch and riding horses, I thought they were pretty nice. Then I passed out in the moor, and ever since then… they've become really dull. It feels like they are one of the more involved PoI, at least, but the interactions and all just became so repetitive with them that it's no fun anymore. I'd like to know more about their involvement in these strange parties you can go to with Avery and what that's all about, but otherwise, I just try to avoid them these days. I already escaped 3 times from the farm, and although the game isn't programmed like that, I feel like there's no coming back from it for our relationship, lol. Maybe in the future again, hahaha.

Red-faced, nearly knocks you down pushing away from you. At higher dominance, they're more likely to laugh it off. At lower dominance, they scuttle away, unable to look you in the eyes for the rest of the day.

Anxious Guard

Freezes before jumping away from you. Tries to admonish you as if it's your fault, but can't stop stammering.

Avery

A bit flustered from tripping at all. Avery prides themself on being calm and in control. Probably won't acknowledge it. Don't bring it up.

Bailey

Bitter from having tripped in front of you and mostly doesn't acknowledge it. Mutters something about you putting your tits to good use to make their money.

Briar

Also doesn't like the fact that you've witnessed them trip, but laughs at having ended up face-first in your breasts. Gives one of them a playful squeeze and tells you to wear something tight on stage.

Darryl

A mess. Apologizing, asking if they hurt you. Face pink and stuttering. Cannot look you in the eyes.

Eden

Another one who gets flustered by you seeing them trip at all, let alone into your cleavage. Also, this fucker it big. You are on the ground, their face in your chest. They are taking advantage and acting like this was their plan all along.

Harper

Pink faced. Badly suppressed stutter. Insists on giving you an examination to make sure they didn't hurt you. Proceeds to grope your tits for half an hour.

Kylar

Death by tits. Feels like they've died and gone to heaven. Just stays like that for as long as they can before they realize they might have hurt you and starts asking if you're okay.

Relaxed Guard

Plays it off by pinning you down and groping you. They didn't trip, they just wanted their bitch under them and this was the quickest way to do that.

Sydney

Pure Sydney is blushing. Blushing so hard. Unable to move. Stammering mumbled apologies. Corrupt Sydney is just as red but gives your sternum a kiss before moving away from you.

Veteran Guard

Also a fucker who probably knocked you to the ground when they tripped into you. Grumbles at you to watch where you going before giving one of your tits a harsh squeeze before climbing off you.

Flustered as hell that they tripped and takes it out on you. Grabs your tits and makes some crude comments. Likely to pull at your top so they can bite your chest. Probably will bite hard enough to make you bleed.

Avery hates it only because it makes him look bad for going out with a pornstar/cam girl. Like his "friends" love it but he thinks it ruins his image.

Eden doesn't really like it, he doesn't want other people seeing you like that

Whitney is conflicted, he didn't give you permission to show off your cunt to other people but he can also make some money from this. He is now on every stream/video whether you like it or not, he wants a cut of that money.
