in the age of AIs and scraping and binge watching and ever-growing pressure to become a content creator, an influencer, an "how-many-followers-do-you-have"; I think I'm going to have to make a choice.
and my choice, my promise to myself is this; I will find unbridled joy in creation. I will love the the things I make, because I made them. I will not worry about the time, or the efficiency, or whether I create enough. I will create out of love. I will find joy in what my friends, my acquaintances, strangers across the world are creating. On their own time; freely given out of love.
In the end I'm going to choose not to let it get to me, not to let it matter, how the world cycles and churns a grinds.
It does not matter; because I love.

My #1 post of 2022
Illia Strand by @rickety-goose
I commissioned Ren to draw Illia in her gala serithan and I’m stunned, crying, screaming how gorgeous this is. Thank you Ren!
Illia is the gallery here, trying to decide if she goes to talk with Veyer or Phaedra!
She has such a soft and curious look on her face, and look at her nose and all the freckles, ahhh
I love all the details, her scars, the sea dragon and sea dragon head, the jewelry, the Frostmark Mountain range on her collar bone, not to mention the serithan itself, which is incredible detailed and stunning. I love the take on the (ill gotten) Lars Drakehand jewelry!
some details under the cut!!

HOWL-O-WEEN RETURNS - ACTIVITIES OF THE WEEK
With October in full swing, the annual Howl-o-ween Festival has rolled into town in an attempt to lift the Lunar Covians spirits. The Coalition having taken on the October festivities this year planned an activity nearly every day counting down until Halloween (Bri has hired Dilan on Ben's behalf given Ben is currently out of commission to help with running things) and, while the town debated whether or not to cancel the whole event, they inevitably felt that the small wins are worth celebrating. The Catalyst is gone and so is the terror that had been plaguing the town for so long. But, while there are a number of fun activities you can find below (and will be more to come each week until we reach the 31st), the Council has not forgotten about those who are missing and the damage that has been left, once again, in the Catalyst's wake.
A van with their plates removed was discovered in the river. The vehicle had been intentional dumped and the tires match the tread marks outside of Dhruv's place. Only, no other clues as to Dhruv or Meena's whereabouts were found with the truck. The pack tried to reach Dhruv via the pack bond, but have only been able to hear static amongst the occasional scream. While the Clan Advisor heard what seemed to be Meena's voice calling out to her though, the only sound that was able to be made out was an M. No one has heard from either Dhruv or Meena telepathically since, but it does seem likely they are both still alive, for now that is. The pack bond seemed to be blocked as well as any tracking spells that are attempted to be cast, hovering over Lunar Cove and the surrounding area, but not being able to pinpoint exactly where they are as if magic is hiding their location. The search parties have continued to patrol every night. Though, now over a week later, they have been losing momentum, with many residents beginning to lose hope as to whether Dhruv and Meena will turn up. Eclipse is closed the foreseeable future until the Clan Leader is returned as well. While, the Rec Center has put together a clean-up committee who is determined to repair all of the damages made to the Pendulum by November 1st. So, if you'd like to help out, you can donate towards restoring the local playhouse or put on a hardhat and help with clean up crew repair the town staple from the ground up.
REMINDERS
This is a plot-driven event that will run until 10/31 both IC and OOC. So, please keep a look out for future plot drops to come! We will be dropping one a week leading up to 31st, so while we encourage you to react to any of the below in threads or starters, please know that more fall and festive activities are to come.
The tag for the event is lunarcoveevent13. Everything from pictures, outfits, Halloween costumes & threads etc. should be under this tag. Starters should have both the starter and event tag.
This event is mandatory and is occurring all across town so feel free to post starters or have private threads reacting to any of the below.
We also have the WC for the True Crime Podcasters who may come into play in a later plot drop that you can find here and would love to see a Banshee who runs Good Omens if you'd like to check out our seedlings.
For anyone looking to bring in new characters, we are back to our regularly scheduled acceptance and will be holding acceptance this Wednesday.
Last, but not least, we hope you have some skele-fun!
ACTIVITIES OF THE WEEK
MONDAY/CONTINUING ALL WEEK LONG
Search Parties - Heading out every night around town and the surrounding areas
Town Clean-Up Crew- Meet at the Rec Center every morning where you will then be assigned different locations around town to help fix up. There is also a donation booth set up for anyone who wants to donate towards the Pendulum repairs.
TUESDAY
Corn Pit- After a number of you fell in love with the Corn Pit last year, it’s now back! Swing by Out of Stalk to lay in some corn and let all of your worries fade away, one kernel at a time.
WEDNESDAY
Hedge Maze- It’s back for another year of fun! Will you be able to find your way out of the maze in record time or will you have to invent your own way out? The werewolf sized imprint from two Halloween's ago is nearly completely grown over and yet, there is an odd looking whole that resembles a woman's fist... But, don’t worry! That should likely growing back by next year too from those rather eager maze-goer’s attempt to create their own exits.
The Full Moon- There is a full moon tonight so the search parties have been canceled. As a reminder, the full moon affects werewolves and sirens. Werewolves are told to remain in Echo Acres with everyone else being advised to keep out of the woods tonight if you are not a wolf. For Sirens, the salt water pools specifically at the Fae Court are for you (the regular pools are still open to residents on the other side of the Emerald Hotel far away from the sirens). You can swim there to your heart’s content without the worry of luring any nearby people into the water (though some Sirens still decide to rebel and swim out in the Cove, singing their song for all to hear).
THURSDAY
The Pumpkin Show- Come to the Town Green, in place of the Farmer's Market, see the biggest Pumpkins in all of Rhode Island. The Pumpkin Show offers a variety of different sized pumpkins and pumpkin themed food.
Pumpkin Carvings- Time to show those pumpkins who’s boss! With the help of Farmshop and their very sharp knives, you too can create a pumpkin friend with a few precise cuts. Or a lot of jagged ones. Choose from stencils or make your own design, but get ready to show off those skills!
Pumpkin Patches- It’s time to pick your pumpkin! Come down to the Holloway Farm located in Echo Acres. Sure it might just be in Holloway’s backyard, but they've spent all year growing these pumpkins so pick the pumpkin that is perfect for you.
FRIDAY
Fear Street Block Party- Ready to dance until you drop? Lunar Cove will be blocking off Main Street to host a block party for only the bravest of souls! Everyone is encouraged to help decorate the houses on this street and band together to take home the prize for the most eerie abode. Note: Feel free to post photos of your characters decorated homes to win the title of Most Eerie Abode.
SATURDAY
Apple Picking- If you’re looking to bake the perfect apple pie this fall, make sure you get your share of fresh apples straight from the Echo Acre Orchard located at Holloway Farms. For only a small fee, you can pick as much as your basket can fill and drink warm hot cider with friends. Disclaimer: We are not responsible for any apples falling on heads, but if you do discover a phenomenon as important as gravity, isn’t it all worth it in the end?
Bobbing for Apples- What better way to show off your supernatural chompers than to properly bob for apples and court your latest paramour? This is how you answer the age old question “What that mouth do?” Bob for apples.
Caramel Apple Booth- That’s right, they’re back. The best Caramel Apples this side of the coast are only available for the week leading up to Halloween. Supplies are limited, so be sure to snag a spot in line before they’re gone for another year.

Time for some art shoutout!! One of my dearest friends in the Brian May community is Ronnie @seventhmoonforreal. She is one of the first Bri-artists I discovered when I joined this fandom, and I fell in love with her work immediately. Anyway, her commissions are open right now and today I want to show everyone how fkn WORTH IT commissioning her is.
I am a massive Animal Crossing fanatic, and so is Ronnie, so I asked her to draw me stargazing with Bri and Celeste (my favourite AC npc ever), chibi style. Knowing her, she blew it out of the water. Appreciate and feast your eyes on this utter masterpiece ✨
If *you* want a personalised artwork that’s this level of stunning go and message her!!! She also does manga-style and realism 🥰 It’s extremely worth your buck and I’m saying this with the utmost sincerity 💖

Anonymous asked: “So Deku, what's your opinion of what Hawks did to Twice?” (for villain Deku) -- this is totally not from Bri
“I mean, I wasn’t exactly close to Twice-kun while he was still alive,” Izuku sighed. “But I know that Toga-chan took his death very hard. I feel bad for her.” Toga was one of the few League of Villain members he actually liked.
“As far as Hawks is concerned, I’m not exactly surprised that the bastard was a double agent,” he said with a snort. “After all, I’ve been one--infiltrating U.A. as a hero student and all that shit...”
A low chuckle left his lips. “Though, it does make heroes look even more like hypocrites, don’t you think?” He shook his head. “To think the Hero Commission can get their hands dirty just as much as villains can!”
“Though, because they deem themselves the good guys, I guess they can get away with it!” he exclaimed before louder manic laughter escaped him. His eyes were crazed and laced with venom. “Really, I shouldn’t be that surprised! Strip them of their Quirks and you can see just how heroic they can be--bribing me with money, attempting to blackmail, or outright threatening to murder me!”
He sucked in a deep breath and let it out in an attempt to calm his anger. “Heroes are no better than me or anyone else. All of them are flawed--they just happened to win the genetic lottery...”
“Twice-kun didn’t deserve to be stabbed in the back by someone who claimed to be his friend,” he growled. “But I guess heroes no longer see villains as human because they set the rules! They rigged the system!”

When You Break The Rules

Another weekend, another convention, another panel with the girls.
You sat on stage, ankles crossed like a lady, knees peeking out from beneath the hem of your sundress. It was hot, too hot for jeans, especially under those stage lights, and besides, your lover liked to see your calves.
No one else seemed to notice or care about your unusually fancy attire, too focused on Brianna and Kim having a fiery debate over which Winchester would have been with which sheriff. That was just fine with you, it was entertaining to watch them bicker even though you knew they’d give the standard answer: Jody and Sam, Donna and Dean.
To your left, Ruthie cleared her throat into the microphone and raised a heavily painted brow. “Excuse me! Why does no one ever ask who Rowena should be with?”
Her angry pout made the audience laugh and Kim jumped all over it.
“Well, who would Rowena be with?” she laughed as she turned towards Ruthie.
Bright red lips smiled coyly. “Samuel, obviously.”
Kim’s face dropped with annoyance and she crossed her arms, popping a denim-clad hip. “Oh, now we have to fight.”
Instantly, Brianna was at Kim’s side, comically holding her back as Kim lunged forward, growling at Ruthie. The tiny redhead looked to you for help but you shrugged and threw your hands up, laughing into the mic.
“Hell no, I’m not getting involved here. No way!”
That was the exact wrong move, for the dueling trio turned to you, ready to attack. Thankfully, Brianna was able to wrangle Kim in, and the fiasco was averted.
“Moving on…” Brianna sang, flamboyantly waving at the next fan in line waiting to speak. “Hey. How are ya, who are ya, where ya from?”
The tiny purple-haired teen looked up at Bri in awe, nearly drooling at the sight of her bare midriff. “I-I’m Lisa-”
“Hi, Lisa! Nice to meet you!” Brianna smiled brightly and the girl nearly fainted. “You got a question for me?”
Lisa nodded shyly and swallowed down a wave of fear. “It’s for everyone. If you could have kissed anyone on the show, who would you want to kiss?”
Kim hummed into her mic. “Oh…”
Ruthie grinned devilishly and tapped her cheek, deep in thought.
You shivered and tried to hide your nerves. This was the exact sort of question you hated answering. There was never a right answer.
Brianna and Kim looked at each other and smirked, answering in unison. “Jensen.”
The crowd cheered, seeming to agree.
Ruthie knocked her head side to side, unable to decide. “Well, you know, I did rather enjoy smooching Richard…”
“Did someone say my name?”
The Trickster himself appeared from behind the curtain, summoned by Ruthie’s answer. You breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that time was up and you wouldn’t have to answer.
You were wrong once again.
“Y/N, what’s your answer?” Richard asked, rounding the line of chairs to stand next to Ruthie and drape an arm around his friend. “You’re awful quiet.”
Embarrassment churned in your gut. “Oh, I don’t know guys, I can’t choose. Everyone’s so beautiful.”
Before anyone could move on and end the panel, a fan in the front row shouted up to the stage. “You got to kiss Sam!”
Which, was true. The character you played on Supernatural had, in fact, made out a bit with Sam Winchester in the episode right before Dean accidentally killed you. Still, it wasn’t really an answer you could give.
“That’s true…” you agreed, praying Richard and the band would cut you off and the universe would have some mercy.
“And?” Kim pressed.
“And… Sam’s a… pretty good kisser,” you said, much to everyone’s joy.
Kim couldn’t let it rest and leaned in. “So, Jared is too?”
Heat filled your face and you bit your lip, sure that you were going to get in trouble either way.
“Yeah,” you nodded, smirking at the crowd. “He sure is.”
To say that the auditorium went crazy was an understatement, but all you could hear was your heart pounding; all you could see was one face out in the back of the theater, one face blazing with anger.
Misha grabbed your arm as you left the stage, practically dragging you off of your feet before you knew what was happening. You knew better than to question it, so you let him pull you down the service hallway and into a dark conference room.
Your pulse was racing when he let go of you, shoving you into the room before slamming the door shut behind him.
He turned, face contorted in special anger; blue eyes narrow, right brow raised.
“What did you think you were doing up there?” he asked, voice like gravel as he flipped on the light.
Swallowing hard, you batted your eyes and tried to give your most innocent smile. “What do you mean?”
Misha wasn’t buying it. He stormed forward, chin down, eyes tight on yours. “You. Talking about kissing Jared. I saw you.”
Despite his expression, you laughed. “Misha- I was just- that was just a question. I was only doing my job. Ya know, entertaining the masses.”
His upper lip twitched as he grit his teeth and growled. “Your job is not to embarrass me. Your job is to be mine.”
Anticipation and nervous energy swirled in your belly. “I’m...I’m sorry.”
He rushed at you in a blur, big hand curling around your back to grab a fistful of hair. “Not yet,” he assured you, teeth gnashing with jealous rage. “But you will be.” He let you go forcefully and you stumbled backward a step, knocking into the long oval conference table. Misha rolled up the sleeves of his blue sweater. “Turn around, girl. You need to be punished.”
A lustful haze overtook you and your eyes rolled just a bit. “Y-yes, Sir.” Before the words faded in the air, you had spun around and planted your palms on the polished oak table. Your bend wasn’t deep enough and Misha placed his big hand between your shoulder blades, pushing you forward until your tits smashed against the table.
Your breath fogged the shining tabletop as Misha ran his hand down your spine, all the way until he hit the hem of your dress.
“You wearing panties today, little girl?” he asked; tips of his fingers ghosting the back of your thigh.
Your voice shook when you answered. “Yes, Sir. I had to. I-I was on stage.”
Misha shook his head in disappointment. “Too bad.” His hand curled around the skirt and yanked it up, exposing your panties and lower back to the room. “I hope you didn’t like these.”
Two firm rips later, your underwear lay in shreds on the ugly navy carpet. Cool air hit your pussy and you realized then just how wet he was making you. A moan left your lips before you could catch it.
“Oh, my little slut likes this?” Misha asked, dragging his right hand down over the globe of your ass.
“Yes, Sir,” you whispered in reply. “Feels good.”
“Does it?”
A crack filled the silence of the room as Misha spanked you, nice and hard, on the right. You gasped as the tingling pain spread across your cheek and sank deep inside, your flesh absorbing the heat of it.
“Yes,” you moaned, knowing that not answering him would lead to a worse punishment.
“Good.”
Another slap, harder this time, burned his handprint into your skin. You bit your lip to keep from crying as his hand came down in the exact same spot once more.
“Bad girls break the rules,” he reminded you, continually whacking your tender flesh. “When you break the rules, you get punished.” Each snap of his wrist made your heart skip and your eyes roll; your body was shaking under his reprimand, leaking with arousal. “You don’t want to be a bad girl, do you?”
“No, S-s-sir!” It was hard to think, hard to speak, hard to do anything but take each blow and drag it deep inside, let your body swallow it down. Your cunt was aching, dripping, begging for release, but the hits kept coming.
Side to side he moved, making sure to cover the most sensitive spots, knowing you would feel him the rest of the day. Every time you sat down, any time someone bumped into you, there would be a silent hiss and your eyes would grow wider; remembering your punishment, remembering his hands on you.
“Are you ready to be my good girl again, Y/N?” Another crack on the left and a soothing rub.
“Yes, Sir! Please! Wanna be your good girl!”
Misha leaned down, covering your back and pressing you into the hard table. “I’m not so sure.” His teeth caught your ear and you whimpered pitifully.
“I-I’m sorry,” you prayed, barely able to breathe with his weight on top of you.
“Are you?”
A deep shiver ran through you as his voice filled your mind. “Yes!” you pleaded. “Yes, I’m so sorry. I’m yours. Always. No more Jared talk I swear!”
“Then cum.”
“What?”
Misha stood up and you gasped as the air filled your lungs. “If you’re so sorry, then cum,” he said again. “Right now. I want to feel it.”
As you took your next breath, Misha shoved his hand between your thighs and pressed his palm up against your cunt, pressing hard. Every muscle was tense and you could feel each line of his hand against your wetness, feel the heat from his skin. With his free hand, he slapped your ass once more and you came, feeling the balloon pop instantly. It was small but the stream of pleasure rolled through you, making your shoulders shake and your jaw drop in a heavy pant.
Satisfied by the flood against his hand, Misha grinned and tapped your hip. “Good. Now, spread your legs nice and wide.”
Your feet moved without a thought, shuffling over the carpet to spread yourself open for him.
Misha dropped his zipper and let his jeans hang around his thighs. “There’s my girl.” He was inside before you could blink, slamming deep inside your pulsing cunt without an ounce of hesitation. He felt like heaven after the beating, felt so good to be filled up by his familiar heft, but his thighs slapping against your ass burned. He rode you into the table, belt buckle stinging your sore backside; rough denim scratching your aching thighs. It was heaven and hell suddenly, and you couldn’t think for the pleasure building inside again.
Misha came, slamming you hard into the edge of the table, surely bruising your belly. You could feel the press of his firm thighs, the explosion of heat, his heavy breath raining down upon you. He stayed there even as he came down, letting your pussy convulse around him as long as it could.
“Have you learned a lesson, baby girl?” His palm slid up your back as he leaned over you once more.
Dazed and happy, shaking and sleepy, you answered in a rambling string of words that passed no filter, they just were. “Yes, sir. Yes. I promise to behave. Always.”
“Good.” He kissed the nape of your neck and nuzzled in for a brief moment, breathing you in, holding you tight.
Finally, he moved away and you stood up; legs and back aching from the long-held position. “Wow,” you commented with a lazy smile. “That was...wow.” Your hair was a mess, but you did the best you could, brushing it back from your sweaty face.
Misha smiled sweetly as he righted his outfit, taking care to retuck his undershirt and adjust the sleeves of his sweater.
The big clock on the wall gave made you startle. “Shit! I have like ten mins before photos. I gotta go get cleaned up.” You shivered to clear your head and then took a step towards the door, ready to sneak out and find a restroom.
Before your second step, Misha’s hand shot out and took hold of your wrist, pulling you back. “No,” he growled. “I want my cum dripping out of you in front of all those fans.” His eyes were filled with the devil and you shuddered at the thought. “I want them all to suspect, to smell it on you. You’re mine.”
You swallowed hard as you stared up at your Sir, nodding in absolute obedient compliance.
“Yes, Sir. Only Yours.”

( janet montgomery, 128, cis woman ) by the gods is that JUNIPER BRYMOIRA ? the locals say she’s ENIGMATIC & PERCEPTIVE and DETACHED & OBSCURE. SHE is known for being a SEAMSTRESS. word around the tavern is that SHE HAD DECLINED WHEN OFFERED A PLACE IN THE PALACE FOR HER SERVICES IN THE WAR, but you didn’t hear it from me.
NAME: Juniper GENDER: cis woman PRONOUNS: she / her / hers AGE: one hundred and twenty-eight ( 128 ) ORIENTATION: demisexual, partial to women OCCUPATION: seamstress, weaver, merchant POSITIVE TRAITS: enigmatic, perceptive, insightful NEGATIVE TRAITS: detached, obscure, cold
CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION
NAME: Sionia Brymoira ( see-YON-ya bri-MOY-ra ) PREVIOUS AFFILIATIONS: rebel forces, antiregime PREVIOUS OCCUPATIONS: double agent, spy, poisoner ROLES IN THE BATTLEFIELD: archer, assassin
TO OTHERS
Very little is known about the woman who lives in the cottage by the wood. She goes only by “Juniper” and has, as far as anyone can recall, lived on her own in Delos since the closing of the Blood War. Her shop, The Crimson Thread, sits close to home and is fairly modest, nondescript — the last among a row of cheerier-looking bakeries, haberdasheries, and warehouses. Far from being the only seamstress in town, she seems to have neither real need nor intention to keep her shop open regularly. She sometimes receives special commissions, and while Juniper is known to take her sweet time with these requests, the outcome is always the same: beautiful, of superior quality, and somehow inexplicably enchanting.
Tucked away from the more peopled areas of Delos, her cottage is where she appears to spend most of her time when not selling her wares. Hunters and foresters have noted seeing her walking alone within the darker corners of the forest, often with a lantern and a basket in tow. Many assume she does so to collect materials and resources for her threads and dyes, and as no one has seen anything to prove otherwise, this could very well be the case. Still, others prefer to concoct theories of their own.
Ever the enigma, Juniper is not completely without company, but even these people would have little more to say about her than what is already known.
TO HERSELF
Something inside her died in the war.
Though she may as well have been right at Death’s doors in those final days, it wasn’t the physical and bodily harm that did it. Harrowing as it was to lie bleeding and beaten, helpless inside a healer’s tent, the elf had been dying long before. Growing up under the shadow of what seemed at the time to be one never-ending war, Sionia Brymoira’s had to be many things: a poisoner, a spy, a murmur in the crowd, a knife in the dark; and in her last days, a warrior in the field. Some said it was meant to get easier with every death — the burden to lighten with every drop of poison and every slit throat — but this elf was not quite so lucky.
After the war, Sionia refused a position in the palace, instead asking that her life be her own, away from the noise of the capital. In Delos, Sionia took on a new name, one of healing, of cleansing and blessing, and retreated silently into obscurity.
RANDOM OOC TRIVIA:
Juniper is based on a D&D character I have but never quite found the right game to play with. She was meant to be a changeling and a Circle of the Moon druid, and her name at the time was Rowan!
She’s influenced by a character of the same name, as written by Monica Furlong. I absolutely loved reading Wise Child, and the way her namesake, Juniper, was characterized in the novel gave me a whole lotta Great Vibes. This character is an homage to that book ♥
Check out her playlist HERE! I’ve also linked it in the sidebar :>

Good news for REFERRAL seekers! The REFERRAL system is one of the systems offered in online poker games. The REFERRAL system is one of the biggest draws for online poker players because online poker players have the opportunity to get additional income in the form of commissions without having to work hard.
To get this REFERRAL commission, you only need to invite new players to join and play online poker on the online poker site where you play. From every player that you successfully invite to join, you will get a bonus of 15% of the commission which has been 10%.
For example: the predefined table FEE is at 5%. When an online poker player wins Rp. 10,000,000.00, that player will only get Rp. 9,500,000.00 because it is deducted by Rp. 500,000.00 which becomes the table's FEE. 15% of the Rp. 500,000.00 will be the REFERRAL commission that you are entitled to receive or Rp. 75,000.00. That is why many online poker players can get REFERRAL commissions which are worth hundreds of thousands of rupiah to millions of rupiah even tens of millions of rupiah every week.
FAQ:
1. How can I play the games available on the Pokerace99 online gambling site? You must register first on the Pokerace99 site by clicking the REGISTER button available on the front page of our site.
2. What is the minimum deposit and minimum withdrawal at Pokerace99? The minimum deposit at Pokerace99 is IDR 10,000. Minimum withdrawal at Pokerace99 is IDR 25,000.
3. How long will it take for my deposit to be confirmed? If the bank is online, we can process the deposit as soon as possible, provided you have processed the deposit correctly.
4. What is the correct way to confirm a deposit? - Make sure the account number to which you are transferring is correct as stated on the deposit menu and always check before making a transfer because we change the destination account number regularly to avoid long queues. - If you do not have a unique last name (for example, the name: Andi), you are required to make a deposit with a unique and confidential nominal so that there is no mistake in the process of depositing funds, for example a deposit with a nominal value of Rp. 100,126, - - Make a transfer before confirming.
5. Can the deposit be combined from multiple transfers, or can I transfer multiple times before confirming the deposit? You can make multiple transfers with different or the same nominal. But when you confirm your deposit, you can't combine more than one fund at once, you have to confirm the funds one by one.
6. Why does my withdrawal sometimes take time to process? All withdrawal queues are processed based on confirmation time. During rush hour or the bank has just come back online, the withdrawal queue can become so large that it takes longer to process.
7. Why can't a confirmed withdrawal be canceled again? Due to the large number of cases the player's password is known to other people. To minimize the risk of chip theft, we enforce this policy.
8. Why is my memo sometimes taking long / not being answered? There are tons of memos that we receive simultaneously and it takes time to understand the questions and complaints and then answer them one by one. Due to efficiency reasons, we will not respond to memos that are questions that are not related to the technicality of the game, questions that are rude and offensive.
9. If I get disconnected from the game, will the chips I bet on be replaced? We will be responsible if the damage is on the Pokerace99 server when all players are down / disconnected. We are not responsible for any losses that occur due to the player's network or internet connection being lost in the middle of the game.
10. How do I find out the online / offline bank status? You can see bank status info in the information column available at the bottom of the site page. The bank's status will be regularly updated according to the bank's service status at that time.
11. Why must bank data be filled in correctly? What are the possibilities that can happen in the future if I don't provide the correct bank data? We need accurate data so that deposits and withdrawals can be processed smoothly. If the data provided is inaccurate, the deposit process will take longer and possibly withdrawals cannot be processed until you provide the correct information.

John Conyers
John James Conyers Jr. (May 16, 1929 – October 27, 2019) was an American politician of the Democratic Party who served as a U.S. Representative for Michigan from 1965 to 2017. The districts he represented always included part of western Detroit. During his final three terms, his district included many of Detroit's western suburbs, as well as a large portion of the Downriver area.
Conyers served more than 50 years in Congress, becoming the sixth-longest serving member of Congress in U.S. history; he was the longest-serving African American member of Congress. Conyers was the Dean of the House of Representatives. By the end of his last term, he was the last remaining member of Congress who had served since the presidency of Lyndon B. Johnson.
After serving in the Korean War, Conyers became active in the civil rights movement. He also served as an aide to Congressman John Dingell before winning election to the House in 1964. He co-founded the Congressional Black Caucus in 1969 and established a reputation as one of the most liberal members of Congress. Conyers joined the Congressional Progressive Caucus after it was founded in 1991. Conyers supported creation of a single-payer healthcare system and sponsored the United States National Health Care Act. He also sponsored a bill to establish Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a federal holiday. Conyers ran for Mayor of Detroit in 1989 and 1993, but he was defeated in the primary both times.
Conyers served as the ranking Democratic member on the House Committee on the Judiciary from 1995 to 2007 and again from 2011 to 2017. He served as chairman of that committee from 2007 to 2011 and as Chairman of the House Oversight Committee from 1989 to 1995. In the wake of allegations that he had sexually harassed female staff members and secretly used taxpayer money to settle a harassment claim, Conyers announced his resignation from Congress on December 5, 2017.
Early life, education, and early career
Conyers was born in Highland Park, Michigan, and grew up in Detroit, the son of Lucille Janice (Simpson) and John James Conyers, a labor leader. Among his siblings was younger brother William Conyers. After graduating from Northwestern High School, Conyers served in the Michigan National Guard from 1948 to 1950; the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1954; and the U.S. Army Reserves from 1954 to 1957. Conyers served for a year in Korea during the Korean War as an officer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and was awarded combat and merit citations.
After his active military service, Conyers pursued a college education. He earned both his BA (1957) and LL.B. (1958) degrees from Wayne State University. After he was admitted to the bar, he worked on the staff of Congressman John Dingell. He also served as counsel to several Detroit-area labor union locals. From 1961 to 1963, he was a referee for Michigan's workmen's compensation department.
Conyers became one of the leaders of the civil rights movement. He was present in Selma, Alabama, on October 7, 1963, for the voter registration drive known as Freedom Day.
U.S. House of Representatives
Elections
In 1964, Conyers ran for an open seat in what was then the 1st District, and defeated Republican Robert Blackwell with 84% of the vote. He was reelected 13 times with even larger margins. After the 1990 United States Census, Michigan lost a congressional district, and there was redistricting. Conyers's district was renumbered as the 14th district.
In 1992, Conyers won re-election to his 15th term in his new district, which included western suburbs of Detroit, with 82% of the vote against Republican nominee John Gordon. He won re-election another nine times after that. His worst re-election performance was in 2010, when he got 77% of the vote against Republican nominee Don Ukrainec. In 2013, his district was renamed as the 13th district.
In total, Conyers won re-election twenty-five times and was serving in his twenty-sixth term. He was the dean of the House as longest-serving current member, the third longest-serving member of the House in history, and the sixth longest-serving member of Congress in history. He was the second-longest serving member of either house of Congress in Michigan's history, trailing only his former boss, Dingell. He was also the last member of the large Democratic freshman class of 1964 who was still serving in the House.
In May 2014, Wayne County Clerk Cathy Garrett determined that Conyers had not submitted enough valid nominating petition signatures to appear on the August 2014 Primary Election ballot. Two of his workers circulating petitions were not themselves registered voters at the time, which was required under Michigan law. But on May 23, Federal District Judge Matthew Leitman issued an injunction placing Conyers back on the ballot, ruling that the requirement that circulators be registered voters was similar to an Ohio law which had been found unconstitutional in 2008 by a Federal appeals court. The Michigan Secretary of State's office subsequently announced they would not appeal the ruling.
Tenure
Conyers was one of the 13 founding members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) and was considered the Dean of that group. Formed in 1969, the CBC was founded to strengthen African-American lawmakers' ability to address the legislative concerns of Black and minority citizens. He served longer in Congress than any other African American. In 1971, he was one of the original members of Nixon's Enemies List.
In 1965, Conyers won a seat as a freshman on the influential Judiciary Committee, which was then chaired by Democratic Congressman Emanuel Celler of New York. The assignment was considered an elite one, as Judiciary ranked behind only Ways and Means and Appropriations in terms of the number of Members who sought assignment there.
According to the National Journal, Conyers has been considered, with Pete Stark, John Lewis, Jim McDermott, and Barbara Lee, to be one of the most liberal members of Congress for many years. Rosa Parks, known for her prominent role in the Montgomery, Alabama bus boycott, moved to Detroit and served on Conyers' staff between 1965 and 1988.
Conyers was known to have opposed regulation of online gambling. He opposed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006. After the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. in 1968, Conyers introduced the first bill in Congress to make King's birthday a federal holiday. He continued to propose legislation to establish the federal holiday in every session of Congress from 1968 to 1983, when Martin Luther King Jr. Day was finally signed into law by President Ronald Reagan.
Conyers introduced the "Commission to Study Reparation Proposals for African Americans Act" (H.R. 3745) in January 1989. He re-introduced this bill each congressional term. It calls for establishing a commission to research the history of slavery in the United States and its effects on current society, which is to recommend ways to remedy this injustice against African Americans. The current version was introduced and referred to committee on January 3, 2013. Conyers first introduced the proposed resolution in 1989, and has stated his intention to annually propose this act until it is approved and passed. Since 1997, the bill has been designated "H.R. 40," most recently, H.R. 40. If passed, the commission would explore the longstanding effects of slavery on today's society, politics, and economy.
"My bill does four things: It acknowledges the fundamental injustice and inhumanity of slavery; It establishes a commission to study slavery, its subsequent racial and economic discrimination against freed slaves; It studies the impact of those forces on today's living African Americans; and the commission would then make recommendations to Congress on appropriate remedies to redress the harm inflicted on living African Americans."
Nixon and Watergate
Conyers was critical of President Richard Nixon during his tenure. He was listed as number 13 on President Nixon's enemies list during the president's 1969–74 presidential tenure. The president's Chief Counsel described him as "coming on fast," and said he was "emerging" as a "black anti-Nixon spokesman". Conyers, who voted to impeach Nixon in July 1974, wrote at the time,
My analysis of the evidence clearly reveals an Administration so trapped by its own war policy and a desire to remain in office that it entered into an almost unending series of plans for spying, burglary and wiretapping, inside this country and against its own citizens, and without precedent in American history.
National Health Care Act
Conyers submitted the United States National Health Care Act (Expanded and Improved Medicare for All Act) (H.R. 676); as of 2015, it had 49 cosponsors. He introduced it with 25 cosponsors, in 2003, and reintroduced it each session since then. The act calls for the creation of a universal single-payer health care system in the United States, in which the government would provide every resident health care free of charge. To eliminate disparate treatment between richer and poorer Americans, the Act would prohibit private insurers from covering any treatment or procedure already covered by the Act.
Downing Street memo
On May 5, 2005, Conyers and 88 other members of Congress wrote an open letter to the White House inquiring about the Downing Street memo. This was a leaked memorandum that revealed an apparent secret agreement between the United States and the United Kingdom to attack Iraq in 2002. The Times reported that newly discovered documents reveal British and U.S. intentions to invade Iraq and leaders of the two countries had "discussed creating pretextual justifications for doing so."
The memo story broke in the United Kingdom, but did not receive much coverage in the United States. Conyers said: "This should not be allowed to fall down the memory hole during wall-to-wall coverage of the Michael Jackson trial and a runaway bride." Conyers and others reportedly considered sending a congressional investigation delegation to London.
What Went Wrong in Ohio
In May 2005, Conyers released What Went Wrong in Ohio: The Conyers Report On The 2004 Presidential Election. This dealt with the voting irregularities in the state of Ohio during the 2004 U.S. Presidential Election. The evidence offered consists of statistical abnormalities in the differences between exit poll results and actual votes registered at those locations. The book also discusses reports of faulty electronic voting machines and the lack of credibility of those machines used to tally votes.
Conyers was one of 31 members of the House who voted not to count the electoral votes from Ohio in the 2004 presidential election.
Constitution in Crisis
On August 4, 2006, Conyers released his report, The Constitution in Crisis: The Downing Street Minutes and Deception, Manipulation, Torture, Retributions and Cover-ups in the Iraq War, an edited collection of information intended to serve as evidence that the Bush Administration altered intelligence to justify the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
The Constitution in Crisis examines much of the evidence presented by the Bush Administration prior to the invasion and questions the credibility of their sources of intelligence. In addition, the document investigates conditions that led to the torture scandal at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq, as well as further evidence of torture having been committed but not made known to the public. Finally, the document reports on a series of "smear tactics" purportedly used by the administration in dealing with its political adversaries. The document calls for the censure of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney. Conyers refused to back impeachment proceedings, however.
On anti-Muslim intolerance
Conyers proposed House Resolution 288, which condemns "religious intolerance" and emphasizes Islam as needing special protection from acts of violence and intolerance. It states that "it should never be official policy of the United States Government to disparage the Quran, Islam, or any religion in any way, shape, or form," and "calls upon local, State, and Federal authorities to work to prevent bias-motivated crimes and acts against all individuals, including those of the Islamic faith." The bill was referred to the House subcommittee on the Constitution in June 2005.
In 2005, Conyers introduced House Resolution 160, a house resolution that would have condemned the conduct of Narendra Modi, then the chief minister of the State of Gujarat in India. The resolution was cosponsored by Republican Representative Joseph R. Pitts (Republican of Pennsylvania). The resolution's title was: "Condemning the conduct of Chief Minister Narendra Modi for his actions to incite religious persecution and urging the United States to condemn all violations of religious freedom in India." The resolution cited a 2004 United States Commission on International Religious Freedom report on Modi stating that he was "widely accused of being reluctant to bring the perpetrators of the killings of Muslims and non-Hindus to justice". (See 2002 Gujarat riots.) The resolution was not adopted.
Conyers v. Bush
In April 2006 Conyers, together with ten other senior congressmen, filed an action in the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Michigan, Southern Division, challenging the constitutionality of the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005. The complaint alleged the bill was not afforded due consideration by the United States Congress before being signed by the President. The action was subsequently dismissed on grounds of lack of standing.
Ethics controversy
In April 2006, the FBI, and the US Attorney's office sent independent letters to the House Ethics Committee, saying that two former aides of Conyers had alleged that Conyers used his staff to work on several local and state campaigns of other politicians, including that of his wife Monica Conyers, for the Detroit City Council (she won a seat in 2005). He also forced them to baby-sit and chauffeur his children.
In late December 2006, Conyers "accepted responsibility" for violating House rules. A statement issued December 29, 2006, by the House Ethics Committee chairman Doc Hastings and Ranking Minority Member Howard Berman, said that Conyers acknowledged what he characterized as a "lack of clarity" in his communications with staff members regarding their official duties and responsibilities, and accepted responsibility for his actions.
In deciding to drop the matter, Hastings and Berman said:
After reviewing the information gathered during the inquiry, and in light of Representative Conyers' cooperation with the inquiry, we have concluded that this matter should be resolved through the issuance of this public statement and the agreement by Representative Conyers to take a number of additional, significant steps to ensure that his office complies with all rules and standards regarding campaign and personal work by congressional staff.
Copyright bill
Conyers repeatedly introduced the Fair Copyright in Research Works Act, a bill that would overturn the NIH Public Access Policy, an open-access mandate of the National Institutes of Health. Conyers' bill would forbid the government from mandating that federally funded research be made freely available to the public. The legislation was supported by the publishing industry, and opposed by groups such as the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Writers Lawrence Lessig and Michael Eisen accused Conyers of being influenced by publishing houses, who have contributed significant money to his campaigns.
House Report on George W. Bush presidency and proposed inquiry
On January 13, 2009, the House Committee on the Judiciary, led by Conyers, released Reining in the Imperial Presidency: Lessons and Recommendations Relating to the Presidency of George W. Bush, a 486-page report detailing alleged abuses of power that occurred during the Bush administration, and a comprehensive set of recommendations to prevent recurrence. Conyers introduced a bill to set up a "truth commission" panel to investigate alleged policy abuses of the Bush administration.
Bill reading controversy
In late July 2009, Conyers, commenting on the healthcare debate in the House, stated: "I love these members, they get up and say, 'Read the bill' ... What good is reading the bill if it's a thousand pages and you don't have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?" His remark brought criticism from government transparency advocates such as the Sunlight Foundation, which referred to readthebill.org in response.
Bribery conviction of wife
On June 16, 2009, the United States Attorney's Office said that two Synagro Technologies representatives had named Monica Conyers as the recipient of bribes from the company totaling more than $6,000, paid to influence passage of a contract with the City of Detroit. The information was gathered during an FBI investigation into political corruption in the city.
She was given a pre-indictment letter, and offered a plea bargain deal in the case. On June 26, 2009, she was charged with conspiring to commit bribery. She pleaded guilty. On March 10, 2010, she was sentenced to 37 months in prison, and also received two years of supervised probation. She served slightly more than 27 months at the Alderson Federal Prison Camp. After supervised release, she was fully released from federal custody officially on May 16, 2013.
Response to accusations regarding American Muslim spies
In October, Conyers responded to allegations from four Republican Congress Members, in the wake of the launch of the book Muslim Mafia, that the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) sought to plant Muslim "spies" in Capitol Hill. He strongly opposed the accusations, saying:
It shouldn't need to be said in 2009, and after the historic election of our first African-American president, but let me remind all my colleagues that patriotic Americans of all races, religions, and beliefs have the right – and the responsibility – to participate in our political process, including by volunteering to work in Congressional offices. Numerous Muslim-American interns have served the House ably and they deserve our appreciation and respect, not attacks on their character or patriotism.
WikiLeaks
At a December 16, 2010, hearing of the House Judiciary Committee on the subject of "the Espionage Act and the Legal and Constitutional Issues Raised by WikiLeaks," Conyers "argue[d] strongly against prosecuting WikiLeaks in haste – or at all." He strongly defended the whistleblowing organization, saying:
As an initial matter, there is no doubt that WikiLeaks is very unpopular right now. Many feel that the WikiLeaks publication was offensive. But being unpopular is not a crime, and publishing offensive information is not either. And the repeated calls from politicians, journalists, and other so-called experts crying out for criminal prosecutions or other extreme measures make me very uncomfortable. Indeed, when everyone in this town is joined together calling for someone's head, that is it a pretty strong sign we need to slow down and take a closer look. ... [L]et us not be hasty, and let us not legislate in a climate of fear or prejudice. For, in such an atmosphere, it is our constitutional freedoms and our cherished civil rights that are the first to be sacrificed in the false service of our national security.
Conyers's statement was "in marked contrast to the repeated calls from other members of Congress and Obama administration officials to prosecute WikiLeaks head Julian Assange immediately."
Criticism of American foreign policy
Conyers and his Republican colleague Ted Yoho offered bipartisan amendments to block the U.S. military training of Ukraine's Azov Battalion of the Ukrainian National Guard. Some members of the battalion are openly white supremacists. Conyers stated, "If there's one simple lesson we can take away from US involvement in conflicts overseas, it's this: Beware of unintended consequences. As was made vividly clear with U.S. involvement in Afghanistan during the Soviet invasion decades ago, overzealous military assistance or the hyper-weaponization of conflicts can have destabilizing consequences and ultimately undercut our own national interests."
Conyers has also voiced concerns about sending anti-aircraft missiles to Syrian rebels.
Sexual harassment allegations and resignation
In 2015, a former employee of Conyers alleged that he had sexually harassed her and dismissed her. She filed an affidavit with the Congressional Office of Compliance. She said she was paid a settlement of $27,000 from public funds. BuzzFeed reported on this settlement on November 20, 2017, based on documents from Mike Cernovich, a conspiracy theorist and provocateur. BuzzFeed reported accounts of other ethical concerns associated with Conyers's office, such as sexual harassment of other female staffers, and staffers allegedly often finding him undressed inside his office.
In November 2017, Melanie Sloan, founder of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), publicly accused Conyers of having harassed and verbally abused her during her tenure working for the House Judiciary Committee. On one occasion, she was summoned to his office and found him sitting in his underwear, and she quickly left.
Conyers responded to these reports, saying, "In our country, we strive to honor this fundamental principle that all are entitled to due process. In this case, I expressly and vehemently denied the allegations made against me, and continue to do so. My office resolved the allegations – with an express denial of liability – in order to save all involved from the rigors of protracted litigation."
On November 21, 2017, the House Ethics Committee launched an investigation into multiple sexual harassment allegations against Conyers. Later in November 2017 there were reports that a second woman accused Conyers of sexual harassment. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who had initially stated that Conyers was an "icon" and had done a great deal to protect women, called upon Conyers to resign. She said the allegations against him were "very credible".
On December 5, 2017, Conyers resigned his House seat because of his mounting sexual scandals. The announcement came the day after another former staffer released an affidavit accusing Conyers of sexual harassment. The same day, an article by The Washington Post published allegations by Courtney Morse that Conyers had threatened her with a similar fate to that of Chandra Levy, a staffer found murdered in a park in Washington, DC. She said that after she rejected his advances, he "said he had insider information on the case. I don't know if he meant it to be threatening, but I took it that way."
At a time when the #MeToo movement was pushing for action against men who harassed women, some media and supporters in Detroit believed Conyers had been unfairly treated. He was reported as the "first sitting politician to be ousted from office in the wake of the #MeToo movement." One supporter said he had been "railroaded" out of office.

Political positions
According to The New Republic, Conyers was a member of the Democratic Socialists of America in 1983.
Conyers supported legislation aimed at strengthening the U.S. civil justice system. In March 2016, Rep. Conyers and Representative Hank Johnson introduced legislation to protect consumers access to civil courts, titled the "Restoring Statutory Rights Act." This legislation would "ensure that the state, federal, and constitutional rights of Americans are enforceable" and consumers aren't forced into secretive private arbitration hearings.
Detroit mayoral campaigns
While serving in the U.S. House, Conyers made two unsuccessful runs for mayor of Detroit: one in 1989 against incumbent Coleman Young and again in 1993.
1989
Incumbent Democratic Mayor Coleman Young decided to run for a fifth term, despite growing unpopularity and the declining economy of Detroit. In the September primary, Young won with 51% of the vote. Accountant Tom Barrow qualified for the November run-off by having 24%, and Conyers received 18% of the vote. Despite the difficulties of the city, Young defeated Barrow in the run-off with 56% of the vote.
1993
In June 1993, incumbent Democratic Mayor Coleman Young decided to retire instead of seeking a sixth term, citing his age and health. Many observers believed he had decided not to test his growing unpopularity. In a Detroit News poll in February, 81% said Young should retire. Conyers was one of the 23 candidates who qualified for ballot access.
Dennis Archer was the front runner in the mayoral campaign from the beginning. The 51-year-old former State Supreme Court Justice raised over $1.6 million to finance his campaign. He won the September primary with 54% of the vote. Conyers came in fourth place. Archer won the November election.
Electoral history
Personal life and death
Conyers married Monica Esters, a teacher in Detroit, in 1990. She was 25 and he was 61; they had two sons together, John James III and Carl Edward Conyers. She later served as a vice administrator of the public schools, and in 2005 was elected to the Detroit City Council. In September 2015, Monica Conyers filed for divorce, citing a "breakdown of the marriage". However, they reconciled in late 2016.
Conyers' grandnephew, Ian Conyers, was elected to the Michigan Senate in 2016. He generated controversy by telling of Conyers's planned retirement in interviews before the Congressman announced it himself, and claiming his great-uncle's endorsement. While Ian Conyers announced he would run in the special election for the Congressman's seat, John Conyers endorsed his son. John Conyers III chose not to run. Ian Conyers was defeated in the Democratic primary by Rashida Tlaib.
Conyers died on October 27, 2019, at his home in Detroit. He was 90 years old. His funeral was held on November 4 at Detroit's Greater Grace Temple.
Representation in other media
Conyers frequently posted at Daily Kos and Democratic Underground. Beginning May 2005, he had been a contributing blogger at The Huffington Post and on his own blog.
John Conyers appeared in Michael Moore's documentary Fahrenheit 9/11, discussing the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. He said many members of Congress "don't read most of the bills," as they are very lengthy. They rely on staff to study them in detail.
Honors and awards
In 2007, he was awarded the Spingarn Medal from the NAACP.

Oogie’s Henchwoman || Headcanon:
( Under Cut For Length )
Name: Bricklyn ‘ Brick ‘ Burton || Bri
Age: Irrelevant, certainly she looks to be in her thirties.
Species: A mish-mash of a dress form, mannequin & some human parts - only where necessary.
Aesthetic: Decaying film noir dame meets opulent casino temptress.
____________________________
Biography:
As an equal opportunities employer, ( and a fella that got real lonely in the Casino surrounded by only his boys ), Oogie commissioned the creation of a female henchwoman to even out his ranks.
Doctor Finklestein created Bricklyn using one of Sally’s worn out dress forms, some mannequin legs, human arms & pieces of female faces from the recently deceased. He brought her to life using the ‘ Finklestein Electric Method ‘ & sent her off to Oogie Casino 13 days later.
She has stood faithfully on stand-by since.
Fun Facts:
• No one upstairs actually knows about Brick’s existence until several years after Emily comes into the picture.
• Brick only got her name after she successfully stopped Wolfman from ripping her boss into pieces, remaining unwavering & unmoving as the beast wore himself out ripping her up. Before this she was simple called ‘ Electric broad ‘ or ‘ Dress Dame ‘.
• Brick is believed to be non-verbal & does not know any logical form of sign language, instead relying on the people around her to understand her clumsy pantomimes or hums || growls & grunts. This may have been an oversight on the scientist’s part & a voice modulator was never configured correctly // at all ... or this may have been part of her design. Her capacity to learn language is unknown, though she seems to understand a few decently enough to be given commands.
• Her intelligence is either average or borders slightly above - given that she herself has corrected her boss’s plans to make them run more smoothly.
• After Emily moved in and needed more clothes than her wedding dress to wear - her measurements were taken & specialty padding was made to accommodate her hips, bust & bottom. These are now pretty standard to Brick’s form, but can be removed if need be.
• She will only serve those in the Boogie household, but none quite as readily as her original master - - - though this is not a real issue given that she lives in a broom closet in the back of the Casino.
#• Let's Just Think About It A While Longer • ( Metas. )#• Sometimes They Answer Too !!! • ( NPCs. )#• Casino Cutie • ( Brick. )

Les Huguenots obv, Don Carlo, Trovatore, Eugene Onegin, Simon Boccanegra, Cav/Pag?
Alright, here we go:
Les Huguenots:
Setting-wise, I’m thinking either full-on period drama or modern present-day. (I mean, have you seen social media? People nowadays are often straight-up vicious.)
Also, little to no cuts, and I would play it straight (as in “no overarching external concept” straight, not “heterosexual” straight because there are definitely some characters who are not straight in the slightest) but I think there’s more than enough in the libretto to keep any director busy.
Lots of action, lots of spectacle, but at the same time going for an intimate focus on the principals, their relationships with each other, and where they stand in terms of society. No wonder this one’s so hard to pull off.
Another thing that’s hard is pulling off the “this massacre is pretty much inevitable” thing in the early acts, because there are little signs everywhere hidden within the ostensibly happy stuff that serious trouble is brewing. It’s necessary, though.
Finally, for Pete’s sake, Nevers will die onstage.
(Addendum that’s not super-related: apparently there was a production somewhere in Germany a few years back where Nevers was an artist and everyone else were either characters in his paintings or people commissioning his work. IIRC [I only read reviews, I couldn’t find any video] instead of dying, Nevers was just kinda there the whole last act and towards the end he started dumping red paint everywhere and the result was a painting of the Saint Bartholomew’s Day Massacre.)
Okay, after I wrote all that, I found out that apparently people are doing their modern-day cast picks, so mine are: John Osborn or Yosep Kang as Raoul, Rachel Willis-Sørensen as Valentine, Lisette Oropesa or Erin Morley as Marguerite, Nicolas Testé or Michele Pertusi as Marcel, Artur Rucinski as Nevers, Ying Fang or Karine Deshayes as Urbain, and Christian van Horn as Saint-Bris.
Don Carlo:
First things first: I couldn’t care less about whether it’s in French or Italian (both work fine IMO), but including the whole Fontainebleau act and the Lacrimosa is a must. (I’d also include the Eboli/Elisabetta mask switchoff scene.)
I would absolutely go period drama with it, but for sets and costumes, I’d take a little simpler and less elaborate/more abstract approach. Also definitely dark and moody (except for the first part of the courtyard at San Yuste scene).
EXTREMELY GAY IN ALL THE WAYS. That is all.
The more people in the chorus, the better, not just because grand opéra, but also because then it feels more overwhelming. The production should be overwhelming in just about every way, like getting-hit-by-a-wind-tunnel overwhelming.
The ending: just leave the ending alone. As much as I understand wanting it to be a more closed-off ending, I actually really like how cliffhanger-y the ending is. (I’d be willing to play the Fontainebleau act as a flashback Carlo’s having before Act II.)
Cast: Fabiano or Kaufmann, Harteros or Yoncheva, Furlanetto or Abdrazakov, Tezier or Keenlyside, Garanca or A-Rach, and Halfvarson because he’s the classic Grand Inquisitor.
Il trovatore:
Ooh, I really liked the McVicar idea of setting it during the Peninsular War, although I’d also love to hightail the plot to Italy and set it during the Risorgimento.
Manrico is the least interesting lead in the entire thing IMO, but I would find a way to make him interesting, not just the “oh he’s the tenor and the title role so we have to focus on him” deal.
I’d put a lot more focus onto both di Luna and Azucena, especially Azucena (there’s a reason why Verdi wanted her to be the title character). Maybe the production should progressively get more bizarre as it’s clear she’s more and more traumatized/insane by everything that’s happened.
I’d have Manrico die onstage, too.
Cast: not completely sure, maybe Lee, Radvanovsky, A-Rach, and Tezier or Rucinski (considering my first choice is no longer here...)
Simon Boccanegra:
Setting: Either keep it in very over-the-top period or (for a slightly more original idea) start the opera at the end of the Risorgimento movement and end it 25 years later.
Go big or go home on the sets and costumes with this one.
I’d like to stage the Prologue as Simon’s flashback, but otherwise play it completely straight. Also, cranking up the energy on the Simon/Amelia dynamic is a must.
(A very interesting not-playing-it-straight concept I’ve toyed with that could potentially go with the end-of-the-Risorgimento setting: make Simon Boccanegra a parallel to Verdi. That would also be incredibly sad, given that Verdi’s two kids died very young.)
Cast: Tezier (really my go-to current Verdi baritone), Rebeka or Yoncheva, Fabiano, Belosselskiy
Eugene Onegin:
Setting can be summed up as “Pushkin or Chekhov, take your pick.”
I’m envisioning a set that’s half “looks like a charcoal drawing or muted oil painting” and half minimalist, and really beautiful period costumes. Also, snow everywhere in Acts II and III (the current Met production setting the final scene in a snowstorm? Genius. However, I’d probably have the snow raging outside and the two leads raging inside. Related: huge windows for the final scene to see said snowstorm.)
Eugene Onegin is definitely bi and horribly regrets the duel.
I would make this production have a huge emphasis on writing: Onegin is the brooding author/hero, Tatyana is a writer of course, Lensky’s a poet... maybe they’re all writing their own part of the story?
Also, it’s cruel but I think it would make sense for Onegin to commit suicide at the end.
Cast: Kweicken, Mattei, or Rucinski; Corinne Winters; Michael Fabiano; Alexander Vinogradov
Cav/Pag:
I know one’s technically set in Sicily and one in Calabria, but because I tend to like multiple-bills more if there’s a dramatic throughline, I’d set both in the same place and try to connect the two operas’ characters somehow.
To me, both operas are about the personas people project versus who they really are- and God forbid that women don’t fit the perfect public persona and are instead genuine. As a result, I’d try to add a little theater to Cav and for the reverse effect (since Pag does take place on the Feast of the Assumption), a little bit of Catholic ritual (and guilt) to Pag.
I don’t think the aesthetic for the two operas should be so different: we’re talking the course of one day for both operas, except Pag both starts and ends later in the day (IIRC Cav starts at sunrise).
Cast: not really sure tbh, although I heard the Dutch National Opera apparently had a really nice cast for it recently (A-Rach and Ailyn Perez!)
To end: this is probably a good time to share my hot take that I like Cav more than Pag.

I have a face!
And for the first time since I’ve been here, it isn’t Ralph’s!
ReisArt (on Instagram and Tumblr) made this for me.
I had an opportunity to do something amazingly cool last week, but I lost out because I didn’t have a picture of myself supporting Miyagi-Do. I realized this was a serious lack of preparation on my part, so I talked to ReisArt. And because of him, if that opportunity ever arises again, I won’t miss it.
Because I have a face!
He is open for commissions, if anyone is interested. His art has been circulating around the fandom for a while now, and everything he does is just absolutely beautiful. If you’re interested in a commission piece, definitely look him up.
And, now, without any further ado ... my beloved Quiver sisters ... meet bri.

JSE Commission - Stepping Stones
Summary: Commission for @luvstoriesatstoplights2. After a car accident robs him of his legs, his family and his joy, Chase copes through entries in his journal. Perhaps, with time and effort, he can heal through them too.
April 11th
Well…hey there, diary, it’s Chase Brody. That sounds stupid already, but I’m writing with this pen Jackieboy got me, so I can’t go back and fix it. Whatever.
Apparently having a diary or a journal is supposed to be therapeutic. If I need to clear my head, I can just write down whatever I’m thinking about here, put it all out where it’s private and I don’t have to worry about anyone else judging me for it. Jackieboy says it’s gonna help with my healing, but I don’t think he gets it. It’s my legs that need healing and writing here isn’t going to do anything about that. I’m trying it just so he’ll stop bringing it up.
So…I’m supposed to talk about what’s going on in my head. Honestly, it’s the same old stuff kicking up because I’m too depressed to put it all behind me. Yay, me!
I’m not feeling great.
I dreamt about it all again this morning—the same old dream about the crash. It woke me up before Schneep came in, but I tried to look like I was still sleeping. After dreaming all night about those paramedics dragging me out of the van, I didn’t really want his help. Pretty simple to understand. But if I’d let him go without getting me up, I’d have to just lie there and think about the dream for ages until he came back to try again. Who knows when that would be?
I wish it was just a dream, but every time I wake up and I try to turn over to get away from it, I can’t.
I just…
I wish Stacy was with me.
Anyway, Schneep was really gentle today—a lot nicer than yesterday, at least. To be fair, I know I wasn’t exactly cooperative when it came to the whole showering thing. They finally got it fully modified so I can roll in with the chair and Schneep’s been saying for a while that towel baths aren’t “efficient” enough.
He probably just wants me to start becoming more independent, which, yeah, is a good thing, but then he was telling me how much it cost to get it changed. Yeeeah, telling me how much trouble you’re going to for me really helps to boost the self-esteem, buddy. So I told him I was sorry if I took up too much of his precious budget; maybe it would’ve been cheaper if he’d let me try and crawl there. I think I startled him, but that didn’t last long. We got in a big fight about it and…well, let’s just say I never showered.
It wasn’t a good day for either of us. I know it was a misunderstanding and I know I hurt Schneep’s feelings with everything else I said, so I can’t really blame him for biting back. But now he’s being all quiet and tiptoeing around me and I feel bad for making him feel bad about it.
Wow. I guess I did have a lot on my mind.

April 23rd
Counseling sucks.
How do they expect me to sit there and talk about everything with this lady who’s walking around on her own two feet? And Marvin’s right there in the room watching! It’s not like I’m going to open up at all with him there, but I don’t want him to leave me alone with her either.
Basically I stalled and went around in circles as much as I could until we ran out of time. I’m pretty sure both of them knew what I was doing, but what’s weird is they didn’t try to stop me. Marv barely said a word at all, and the lady just kept asking questions in this really irritating “patient voice”. Does she practice that every morning? She’s got to, there’s no way she could grate on me that much without putting a lot of effort into it.
Counseling’s never done anything for me. Didn’t stop Stacy either, did it?
The shrink’s voice sounds like hers and I hate it.

April 30th
Talked to Schneep and Jackie and I’m trying a different counselor today. We’ll see how it goes.
***
May 17th
The kids finally convinced Stacy to let them call. I cried, I couldn’t help it. Why has she made them wait so long? I’ve missed so much! I HATE FEELING LIKE I’M NOT THERE FOR THEM!
I hate not being there for them.
Connor doesn’t like it at their new school. He says there are bullies, but Brianna’s been trying to stick up for him. Just about gave me a heart attack when she said she got hurt…No nine-year-old should be getting her arm broken at school to protect her brother. What are you thinking, Stacy? Their old school was the best one for them! Oh, but because it’s closer to me and you don’t want to be within a fifty-mile radius of a “burden”, you take them there? Great, awesome, mother of the year!
…Getting off track.
Bri said they decorated the cast to be really pretty. I keep imagining it like the armrests on my chair, with all the smiley faces and heart stickers they put on.
I miss them.

June 11th
I can’t do this anymore, I can’t do it, I can’t do it, I CAN’T DO IT, I CAN’T DO IT, I CAN’T
WHY CAN’T I DO ANYTHING ON MY OWN?
I HATE MYSELF
I HATE BEING USELESS
I HATE NEEDING HELP
I HATE EVERYTHING
***
June 12th
Haven’t gotten out of bed. Marv came in to keep me company. I don’t deserve him. I’m pathetic.
He’s asleep now.
I wish I could fall asleep that easily. I wanna sleep without dreaming about it anymore. I close my eyes for one second and all I see is the bridge and the black ice. I hear the kids and Stacy screaming and crying and I can’t move. I can’t do a thing.
I’m tired.
***
July 10th
Showering’s gotten a little easier. Well, no, not easier, but I’m more used to it. Schneep’s pretty proud.
While I was waiting for the water to warm up and he was off getting a change of clothes for me, I turned myself around and tried a wheelie for a minute. That was…actually kinda fun, even if I ran into the counter like an idiot.
I miss doing stunts. I never actually put up a video explaining what happened; I haven’t even gone on to find out if the channel still has any subscribers. Should get to that sometime, just to see.
***
July 24th
Counseling was actually kinda nice today. It was good to get some things off my chest.
He asked if I still felt guilty for needing the others to help me.
It’s weird, but I’m not really sure. It’s just…life now.
***
August 15th
I can’t believe I’m actually considering this.
Marv took me somewhere a few days ago. Said he wanted to show me this amazing surprise and that he knew I’d love it, which is kind of ironic. I reminded him that it was his birthday, not mine, but he said this would be a gift to himself too, if we were lucky. What’s that supposed to mean?
He took me to this paralytic training center and there were a ton of people in wheelchairs there playing sports—swimming, tennis and basketball and volleyball, even horseback riding. I had no idea that was a thing! It was a surprise, that’s for sure. Marvin kept watching me to see my reaction. Yes, Marv, I noticed; you’re not exactly subtle.
I was…I don’t know, maybe a little mad at first. I thought it was his way of saying, “This is where you should be by now! Why haven’t you been making progress like they are?” But we kept watching it all happen and when our guide left us alone for a minute, he looked at me and…he was crying.
He hasn’t cried since the accident. Not that I’ve seen, at least. But before I could ask if he was okay, he asked me, “Is something like this what you might want someday?”
Like he was giving me a choice. I haven’t had a choice to make for myself in a while now, least not when it comes to the chair, so to think that I could somehow choose to end up like those people…To be asked if I wanted to…I’ll be honest, that scared me a little.
I’m still scared, cause…I think it might be.
I think I do want that.
I’m actually considering Bro Average again and it terrifies me.
***
August 22nd
I’m heading back to the studio. I’m probably insane.
***
September 9th
Got the last of the ramps secured today and I think I like them so far. I’ve been doing some more with the wheelies and planning a few different kinds of spins that I can practice.
The crew is pretty happy that I’ve been calling them again, and the others are excited! Well, Jackieboy and Marvin are. Schneep’s nervous, I can tell, but I just have to keep telling him that I want to go somewhere. I want to make myself good for something. Bro Average was the most fun I ever had and I want to have it again, even if it’s different.
Maybe if When I put out my first wheelchair video, Brianna and Connor could see it. <3
***
September 27th
Why does this have to be so HARD? “Oh, sure, I can do all these tricks and do something useful with my life!” That’s it, smart guy, go ahead and break your face and a camera while you’re trying to impress everyone! I’m supposed to know this stuff by now! I’ve been practicing it for weeks!
Why do I even bother setting goals? I’m just gonna fall short like I always do! Too many expectations for half a man, right, Stacy?
Why did I ever think I could do this again?
***
October 7th
It’s eating at me all the time. Everything I did wrong. I’m gonna try it again.
***
November 25th
I LANDED THREE HANDPLANTS! I LANDED THREE HANDPLANTS IN! A!! ROW!!! Tried to make it a fourth, but it didn’t work out. Jackieboy almost tried to help me when he saw me start skidding, but Marvin kept him back. Said I needed to take the hit and get back up, and I did. At least I didn’t cry like a baby this time, haha. Actually, I haven’t done that in a while. It’s felt pretty good <3
Anyway, the video’s coming out tomorrow and I just know everybody’s gonna flip out! I got a comment from Bri and Connor on the last one. I hope they get to watch this one too!
***
December 2nd
The doc brought up something today and it’s so weird…With everything I’ve been doing and planning and thinking about, I hadn’t noticed.
The nightmare’s gone.
I’ve been dreaming of better things.
