Look... I’m not a huge #rye #whiksey guy. . . And there are not many (if any) younger spirits I’ve enjoyed. . . But then came along this bottle of #singlebarrel @kentuckypeerless rye. . . It’s got a young rye nose but quickly opens up as a mildly spicy rye on the front of the palate, while coating the sides of my tongue in and older-#bourbon-like sweetness. . . This is it! #Day30! We made it! Today’s pour has an interesting story behind it. I had heard that a “not so local” shop did an annual bottle hunt in their very large liquor store. So I bit. Drove to the shop about an hour away from home after getting out of work on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I walked in and spent 20 minutes walking around the store checking every nook and cranny. No luck. About an hour later, employees began to notice I had been in the store for a LONG time and began dropping obtuse hints about the location of this #LotB. Embarrassingly, it took almost 3 total hours of hunting around every square inch of this store to find this bottle and pay $99 for it. It was worth it. Good story.
