Hey! This is my first Tumblr post so I can’t guarantee that’s it’s gonna be any good but I just wanted to introduce myself 👇

⚡️My name is Archie and I’m a fan of Rock and Metal which also happens to be mostly what I play. 🤘

My biggest inspirations are Jason Newsted, Mike Dirnt, John Deacon, Rob Trujillo and Cliff Burton.

⚡️I was also heavily inspired by other musicians who aren’t bass players like my dad ( huge inspiration ) Billie Joe Armstrong, Brent Fitz, and Kirk Hammett.

Some of my favourite bands include Metallica, Mötley Crüe, London After Midnight, Gojira, Avenged Sevenfold, Thunder, Scorpions, Green Day, Guns N Roses, Slash, Kiss, AC/DC

Happy 3rd anniversary to SMKC's album "4"

Although I would dearly love to be a writer who can focus on one project from beginning to end without becoming distracted by new ideas, thus far I have not managed that. I'm therefore dumping all my (relatively far along) fic ideas into a single post, in the hopes that it will make me feel like I have germinated a new project - thereby allowing me to get back to the two WIPs I am actually meant to be finishing. Idea-blurting below the cut:

Patricia Brent, Spinster AU (Fitzsimmons) -I love this book, published in 1918, and I am very sad it was never adapted into an interwar screwball comedy, because it has exactly the right vibes. In the original book, the eponymous Patricia gets so frustrated with the judgemental attitudes of her boarding house co-residents that she claims to be engaged, dolls herself up, and goes off to meet her "fiancé" for dinner at a fancy restaurant. When she realises said boarding house residents are following her, she walks up to the first likely-looking soldier she sees at the restaurant and demands that he pretends to be engaged to her. Hijinks ensue. -In the FS version, Jemma has been doing some kind of meaningful scientific work during the war, but she is predictably shoved to the side again once the men start returning. This provides the necessary additional pressure to account for her out-of-character behaviour - and of course, once she and the likely-looking soldier get to talking, it turns out they have some things in common...

Nancy Blackett, Dragon Aviatrix (Swallows and Amazons/Temeraire crossover) -The idea of this fic has been living in my head forever, and every now and then I write a few more paragraphs, but realistically it will never see the light of day. I can't see how the British military would keep "some dragons will only take Lady Captains" secret until the start of the Second World War, and I don't want to move Nancy all the way back to the Napoleonic Wars. She belongs in the 30s. I just really love the idea of Nancy and John having a bit of the culture clash that Laurence and Roland have in the Temeraire novels. In this fic, Roger Walker has secretly signed up to be an aviator when all his family thought he was joinining the Navy. John only discovers this when his ship responds to a distress call from a downed dragon crew - and the signalman turns out to be his brother. His brother gives him the following advice before he goes in to see the dragon captain: "Fair warning, if you try to treat Captain Blackett like a fine lady instead of a rational creature, she will knock you down."

Crosstalk AU (Fitzsimmons) -I love the idea of taking Peak s2 Angst Fitzsimmons and using the opening premise of Connie Willis' novel Crosstalk to make their lives even harder and more confusing. This would be a non-SHIELD AU: Fitz and Jemma have been best friends for years - working together in the same lab, spending all their time together, so close it's like they're psychically linked. One evening they are the victims of a hit and run, leaving Jemma relatively unscathed (physically), and Fitz with a traumatic brain injury. They end up becoming somewhat estranged with a similar dynamic to canon, although no bottom-of-the-ocean confession, but Jemma is still absolutely desperate to help her best friend. In a wildly unwise move, she agrees to participate some dubious clinical research with on-again off-again boyfriend Milton. Experimental neurosurgery should give them access to each other's feelings, but really Jemma is interested in the other potential outcomes of the trial - chief among them that it is being touted as smoothing and facilitating the rehab process for people with TBIs. This does not help her situation with Fitz. On the day after the surgery, however, she wakes to find that it's not Milton's thoughts she can hear... -(The only thing holding me back from writing this is that I would probably have to read Crosstalk again. That is a long, not-very-good book).

Twelfth Doctor & River solve a murder on Darillium (Doctor Who) -Post Husbands of River Song. There is almost no fic in the Darillium tag on AO3, which is a crying shame, and that which does exist is not really up my street. Yet Twelve and River were on Darillium for one night, aka 24 years; that is more than enough time to have some adventures. In this story, River convinces the Doctor that they need to infiltrate a fancy party to look into corrupt building practices on Darillium. While they are at the fancy party, their host is murdered! River and the Doctor find themselves investigating some very shady characters to find out who the culprit is. (I am never going to write this. Writing mystery novels is hard. Writing a fair play mystery in the Doctor Who-verse would be even harder. However, I love the idea so much that I sometimes play around with it anyway. Likewise, I am constantly sitting on my hands to stop myself writing a Psychology of Time Travel-inspired mystery set at the Time Hotel).

S2 Time Travel Canon Divergence (Fitzsimmons) -I love this idea so much. Honestly, can we ever have enough "Fitzsimmons end up with a glimpse of the future due to Science Fictional Reasons and discover they are married with a baby"? In my version, s2 Peak Angst Fitzsimmons get zapped onto the Zephyr during the "We Had Time" period of their lives, probably via an 0-8-4. Suddenly finding themselves married, with shared responsibility for an Enoch and a spaceship and a human child, proves to be an effective catalyst for resolving some unresolved stuff.

Gawain and Ragnelle! IN SPACE! -I never know whether Arthurian retellings count as fic or original work? Anyway, I am dying to do a space opera retelling of this story, which is probably my favourite Arthurian tale. I love the end of the story so much. I think in my version he meets her in her loathly form, and they still contract the deal, but they defeat many perils between then and the wedding day. They become good friends and Gawain gets an insight into how lonely she must have been to contract such a bargain - so that when he goes in on their wedding night and finds her in her lovely form, he has unexpectedly mixed feelings: sure, she's beautiful and in some ways it's suddenly much easier to be her husband, but she no longer looks like her and he's much more upset by that than he expects. When she asks him whether he wants her beautiful during the day or at night, he realises that she will still be herself both day and night regardless of the outward appearance. Thus his answer - whatever she wants, because she will still be her, and it's that which frees her from the curse. Possibly, once the curse is lifted, she is neither lovely nor loathly - just a very ordinary sort of woman.
