what did you dislike about wolfwalkers?
The story... It introduced a lot of interesting stakes with the colonial history of Ireland and the environmental message but did not follow up to them and ended up having flat characters and a half baked resolution. The father of the main character was the only one I felt was interestingly written enough.
Comparatively, Kells did some of what it attempted better, mostly with Aisling's involvement in the story. She represents the pagan past of the country in a subtle way, and presents the takeover of Christianity and how it killed previous belief systems. Like in WW, despite the mc being a human child of the people who killed her own, they become friends and spend time together, helped by how the adults in said MC's life fail to make him/her adopt the harmful views to the supernatural deuteragonist. But in SoK Aisling remains the only one, which makes her abilities more special, her presence more precious, and drives home the point of her family being gone. Brendan doesn't ask for anything to believe her, he's just happy being her friend. But in WW, the protagonist becomes one of the wolf walkers, and so does her father, which lessens the impact and was a bit frustrating...
SoK also doesn't have this much of a flat villain. It has the Vikings which I don't even consider characters and serve more as story devices, and who are absent from most of the film. WW has a bad guy who is a character but has little to offer asides of being stock evil which....imo kind of took away from the impact again. This is why I like the father a lot, he's shown both as a colonizer taking part in the changing of the land by the English AND as a loved one to the protagonist. In SoK the uncle had a similar role but gets to be the bad guy of the film too instead of a side character.
I also just plain like SoK's ending better, WW went for a high action and drama climax followed by a happy ending where everyone gets to show how nice or gone they are now. It's disappointing. SoK ends on a much more bittersweet note where the uncle shows growth via years of grieving for what he's done to the boy he thinks is dead, Brendan himself comes back alone after losing the mentor that was kind to him, and Aisling goes back to being alone - to go with Brendan having grown up into an 1) adult 2) christian. It is a satisfying conclusion to what the story brings up with some blur where you don't need details. WW's ending solves nothing but surface level conflicts when the movie starts with conflicts that are NOT surface level
WW (and much better Song of the Sea) both show technical improvements over SoK but I doubt most people give a shit about the innovations in smoothly hand animating stylized models in frame by frame 2d or using 3d for BG layout
#ask#would you like a movie with a satisfying realistic conclusion about two kids trying to fight against adults domecticati-#[sniper takes the shot]

Shattered Lives Ch 40 Pt 5
“Dad took them shopping.” Valter said as he took Sildie’s bag from Gustaf.
“Ahh, that explains it.” Gustaf chuckled.
“She’s looking better.”
“Still not all the way there, but yes, better.” Gustaf said quietly.
“You want me to hang or split?”
“Hang, you’re in the middle of getting you ass handed to you again.” He grinned as he scooped Lily up for some dad dad cuddles. Damn he’d missed this, he thought, all of them, but especially his Lily bear.
“Yeah. Thanks, bro.” Valter said sarcastically as he took Sildie’s bag to the bedroom.
“Boys, take it down a notch.” He said softly. “She’s not fully well yet.” Kissing her temple he snaked an arm around her as she slumped slightly, her energy spent.
“I need to go lay down ok?” She said to the twins. “You can come see me after my nap and we can have dinner together. I’ve missed that.”
“Love you mum.” Brendan hugged her fiercely. She knew it had hit him harder, the poor kid was slightly less of a mess than Gustaf.
“I’m ok B. I’m on the mend now and in a few weeks I’ll be back to normal.” The teen nodded. “It scared you?” She murmured holding him close.
“Yep.” She could see the tears welling in his eyes.
“I’m sorry love.”
“Sok.” He shrugged. “You’re back, that’s all that matters.”
“So what are you cooking?” She asked seeing the half prepped meal on the counter.
“Chicken soup for you. Grandpa helped me go shopping.” He said quietly.
She choked up. “Yum.” Her smile made the kid grin. “I’ll take anything that’s not jelly. Thank you, especially for helping Gustaf.”
“We’re a family.” Brendan murmured.
“We sure are love.”
“Bed Sildie before you fall down.” Gustaf said gently, he didn’t want to pull her away from the kids, but she was crumpling to the floor in front of his eyes.
“Going.” She looked over at Valter, the twins already whooping his ass again. “Thanks Valter.”
“Anytime, although I’m regretting that decision now these two are wiping the floor with me.” He grinned. “Again.”
Gustaf helped her shuffle to the bedroom, Lily intent on hugging her and getting snippy with Gustaf at his lack of urgency. “Hang on a second little lady, she’ll drop you if I hand you over.” Sildie sat on the bed, her sigh turning into a coughing fit. Sitting beside her he let Lily stand on the bed and hug Sildie.
“I’ve missed them.” She choked.
“I know love, they’ve missed you too.” He toyed with a wave of copper that had escaped her braid.
“He was so scared.” She let the tears fall, better out than trying to hold them back.
“We all were.” He whispered, his own emotions getting the upper hand.
“Mum mum mum.” Lily patted her cheek softly.
“I’m ok Lily bear.” She smiled through the tears and swiped them away.
“Nap then food or food then nap?” Gustaf asked.
“Nap. I’m wiped.” She barely had the strength to bend and unlace her boots.
“Let me.” He said softly and got on his knees to undo her boots.
“I have zero energy, it’s crazy. Like someone flicked an off switch or took my batteries out.” She chuckled.
“Your body has been through hell on the inside love, it needs time to recover.” He pulled her feet free of the boots and looked up at her. “I love you.”
“I love you too sweet man, and thank you for taking care of me.” She cupped his face in her hand and he leaned into it relishing the contact. Damn he’d missed her. “Even when I’m a cranky bitch and don’t deserve you.” She snorted, snuggling Lily in.
“You were ill, I think you get a pass on being a cranky bitch. I’m not much better when I’m sick. Makes me grumpy. I’m a bear, fair warning.” His quip got the smile he was after.
“Little lady you need to go to dad dad.” She said. “I don’t have the energy to hold you up.” She said smiling and Lily giggled as Gustaf kissed her neck, scruff tickling.
“Into bed love.” He kissed her softly and helped her get under the covers. “Your phone is there, text me if you need something or need to get up. I don’t want you struggling to get to the bathroom and falling.”
“Honestly, I don’t think I could get there without you.” She slurred, her body already pulling her under.
“Sleep love.” He kissed her temple and Lily said her soft mum mum as they left her to rest. Coming out into the kitchen he found Brendan making soup, their own dinner already in the oven. “Thanks kid.” He pulled the teen in for a rough guy hug. “For the soup, dinner, and keeping your siblings safe. For helping out. I’m grateful.”
“Thanks for keeping mum safe.” He mumbled. “I was scared.”
“Me too kid, me too.” Lily gave her brother a big hug too. “Even Lily thinks you’re awesome.” He chuckled. Settling in the one seat with her he watched the twins and let his mind relax, to just have a moment to zone out and not think. She was home and safe, the kids were ok, he was beat to hell, but they’d got through the worst of it. While Valter kept the twins occupied and smooched a happy Lily in his lap, Gustaf hit the workout room an hour or so later. Mentally and emotionally he was wiped, and he knew the physical tenseness would ease once he went a round with the bag. There was no anger to work through, or issue to address, he just needed to burn off some physical energy to settle. She was out cold when he went to shower an hour later, didn’t move when he dressed and kissed her brow. Relaxed and sleeping deeply now she was home and comfortable. The kids sat for dinner wanting Sildie to join, but knowing she needed to sleep. Gustaf thought about waking her, the need for rest too important at this stage. He took the time to sit with them, to joke and laugh, get them back to a semi normal routine after a week of upheaval. Valter stayed for dinner and left once the twins were getting ready for bed. Gustaf was finishing up bathing Lily when his phone beeped.
I’m awake, need to pee.
Just getting Lily out of the bath.
No rush.
Getting Lily out of the tub he dried her off and dressed her for bed. Leaving her with Brendan he made his way into the bedroom to see Sildie sitting up on the side of the bed. “Good nap?”
“Still tired, but I’m hungry.”
“Bathroom then food. The soup is really good I had a cup before dinner.” He said helping her to the bathroom.
“Did I miss dinner?”
“Yes, but sleep is more important for you right now, they understand. No way was I waking you.” He chuckled. Stepping outside while she took care of business he smiled, she was looking better after her nap and her appetite was coming back. “All good things.” He sighed.
Helping her out to the dining table she sat as he heated up some soup and toasted some dark rye bread. The twins rushed over to her after their bath and sat while she ate telling her about everything that happened while she was in hospital.
“Sounds like I missed a lot of fun things.” She whispered.
“You did. Don’t get sick again.” Finn said grinning.
“Don’t plan on it kiddo.” She coughed. At least it didn’t sound like a death rattle anymore, Gustaf thought. “This sucks.”
“We missed you.” Liam said quietly.
“Missed you too. Come here love.” She pushed her chair out and pulled Liam into her lap, her body feeling the fatigue at the action. “Scared you huh?” He nodded and hugged her. “I’m sorry it scared you. Scared me too.”
“Are you really going to get better?” He mumbled.
“It’ll take a few weeks but yes, I’ll get better, lots of sleep and rest and food.” She smiled and bundled Finn to her. “I’ve missed you so much.” She murmured, kissing each twin on the head. “Bed time for you though.” She said and the boys groaned. “Back to a normal routine, you have school starting soon.” She chuckled and watched as they went to bed to wait for Gustaf to read to them. “Thanks for the soup B, it’s really good.”
“I made Kladdkaka as well, but dad doesn’t know yet.” He grinned, placing it on the table.
“I think he could use a slice.” She smiled at him, he was such a good kid, so much like his mother, considerate, kind.
“He was super scared.” Brendan said, getting another mug of soup for her and setting it on the table.
“I know love.”
“He hasn’t slept in a few days either.” The kid said keeping an eye on the twins door, he felt like he was ratting Gustaf out.
“We’ll have to make sure he gets a sleep in tomorrow, ok?”
“I’ll get Lily and the twins in the morning, you keep him in bed.” Brendan grinned. “As long as we can play games.”
“Oh I see how it is.” She scoffed slyly. “Sounds like a good plan, can you clean up a bit? Take the load off him a little more? I know we’re leaning on you a lot right now Brendan but...”
“It’s ok. We’re a family and we stick together, help each other out.”
“Yes we do, but I feel bad sometimes at how much I lean and depend on you.”
The teen shrugged. “You can’t do it all Mum.”
“No, I guess I can’t.”
“And you shouldn’t have to. Family, that means all of us.”
“I love you Brendan. Your parents would be so proud of you love.”
“I miss them and I want them here, but I love the family we have.” He said softly.
“Me too kiddo.” She winked as Gustaf came into the room, Brendan nodding.
“Night mum.” The teen smirked.
“Night love.”
“Night dad.” He hugged Gustaf hard.
“Night B, and thanks for the past few days.” Gustaf kissed the top of the teens head. One of those rare moments where his subconscious had taken over because he was so exhausted.
“You bet.” Gustaf slumped into the chair as the teen headed to bed.
“You need to finish your soup love.”
“You need to eat your Kladdkaka sweet man.” She tossed back. “I’m working on my second cup.” She watched him over the rim of the mug, so tired. Bone weary exhausted, the slump of his shoulders something she never wanted to see again. The smile that bloomed across his face seeing the chocolaty dessert in front of him with a fork across the top almost made her weep with joy.
“The kid doesn’t miss a thing does he?”
“Nope.”
“Like someone else I know.” He said with a tired smirk as he took a bite. “Damn that’s so good. Want some?”
“That’s all for you love. He made it just for you.”
“I feel like an ass for dumping so much stuff on him lately.” He said quietly.
“He gets it. It’s what we were just talking about. We’re a family, it’s what families do. That’s where his heads at. I’d call it progress to a year ago.”
“It sure is. I’m glad you’re home.” He smiled, it was wearily, but it was that one he only kept for her.
“I am too.” She finished off her soup and could see he was asleep on his feet, already drifting as he had another forkful, the sugar probably the only thing keeping him upright. “Would you help me to bed, come snuggle with me?”
“I need to tidy up before I go to bed.” He sighed.
She shook her head. Leave it. There’s just a few dishes which can wait for tomorrow. Brendan said he’d get them.” And she knew the teen would.
“Let me lock up and get the dishwasher started at least.” He stood and collected her dishes, the soft kiss to her brow making her smile.
“Ok.” She wasn’t going to push, she didn’t have the energy to argue and he was too tired. Pick your battles, she thought. She watched him move around the apartment, home, this was a home, their home and damn had she missed it. He helped her with her nightly routine and took care of his own before laying beside her. “Time for me to take care of you.” She murmured and kissed him tenderly. Pulling him close she guided his head to rest in her lap, fingers stroking his scalp, soothing. “Sleep love, you’re exhausted.” His arms curled around her like a child holding onto his favorite teddy bear and she felt the shuddered sigh, knew the tears were right there. “I’m ok, sleep now.” As his silent tears fell she kissed his head, soothed and cared for him as best she could. “My sweet man, I love you so much.”
“Love you too.” He mumbled, sleep about to claim him hard.
“Rest now, your turn to sleep and rest.” She felt him go under, like every muscle in his body had released its hold on the world. Smiling down at him she let her own tears fall, relief she was home and recovering, guilt for putting that fear into him and the kids. Sleep claimed her eventually, the crushing exhaustion no match for her depleted system. She had no choice but to comply with her body’s wishes.

A Fugazi tagjai összejárnak zenélni
A Fugazi tagjai összejárnak zenélni - http://metalindex.hu/2018/03/23/a-fugazi-tagjai-osszejarnak-zenelni/ -

Miscellaneous Cartoon Saloon doodles to put something in the queue- Lotta them are from a while back, but I hope the blorbos are at least recognisable.
The Elmer and Boris one was made before I actually watched the movie, and the Robyn one was made when I haven't seen WolfWalkers in a while- I may have Issues.
Animals are hard, man. Easier to just give humans floofy features (we were robbed of a Mebh with wolf ears). Anyway, I will never let go of the fact that Ross has furiously defended Mebyn on Twitter, and you will pry these gay little wolves from my cold, dead hands.
Once again I took the blorbos. And I make nonsense crossovers with funny indie RPG's. I'll refrain from tagging said RPG's, but if you guess every one/the roles they were placed in, uh. You'll. You'll get a cookie.

Shattered Lives Ch 43 Pt 2
He woke early and grinned as the sun just started to peak through the gap in the curtains. Today was going to be a shit ton of fun. He left her to sleep, the extra time something she needed to get past Thursday and recharge for what he had planned for them today. Walking out to the kitchen he got the kettle on and fetched Lily, his turn to wake the little lady up, although she’d be awake in about ten minutes anyway.
“Good morning Lily bear.” He said as he turned the monitor off so to not wake his sex kitten in the other room, a soft dad dad and huge yawn all he got as he snuggled her in. “Let’s get you cleaned up and have some snuggles. I’m going to miss your snuggles.” He admitted. He was going to miss them all. Two more weeks together before twelve of them apart and they still had another court case in the middle of it all to get through. He’d already cleared it with the producer and director, he wouldn’t see Sildie go through facing Elias alone, not this time. He would fight as vehemently for her and the kids as she’d done for him. It was his turn to protect her and their family.
“What do you say we go wake the boys up and get them ready for their day of bowling and a sleepover?” He asked Lily as he poured the hot water over the tea leaves.
“Bedan!” She squealed clapping her tiny hands together.
“Yes, even Brendan.” He couldn’t help the grin. This pint sized lady had stolen his damn heart and he was more than ok with it. “I want more just like you.” He murmured against her head with a smile. “More little ones just like you sweet girl.”
Opening the door to Brendan’s room he set Lily down and watched her rush to his bed, climb up with some help from the ever growing teen, and cuddle into her brother.
“Hey trouble.” Brendan slurred and Gustaf chuckled.
“Sorry, she was adamant that it was her turn to wake you up.”
“Sok.” He yawned.
“You good with her?” Gustaf asked and grinned as the girl curled up with her big brother.
“Yeah, I’ll be out in a sec, she likes her cuddles.” The teen murmured.
“Yes she does.”
Rousing the twins he met Brendan in the kitchen and his beautiful family got down to making breakfast. So normal, he thought, and so right. Was this the peace he’d been searching for? It sure felt like it. The kids grounded him, Sildie more so, but this calm was new to him. No overwhelming anxiety on the edges, no fear in the back of his mind, no pain, just, normal. He let out a shaky breath at the realization, peace at long last.
She groaned as she rolled over to semi warm sheets and no lanky man in her bed to snuggle with. He’d let her sleep and if she was being honest she’d needed it. Thursday had kicked her ass emotionally. “Let it be done.” She sighed. “It’s finished now, time to move past it. We have a life to live.” Hauling the blankets off she bundled herself into her robe and took care of morning bathroom business before padding out to the kitchen in search of food, tea, and her man. Her man being at the top of her list. She found him at the table with the boys, a happy Lily in his lap. Family, their family, and the sight brought a smile to her face. She drifted her hands over his vast shoulders and down his chest to lean against him.
“Morning love.” That soulful tone filling her with joy.
“Morning.” She said quietly and snagged a pancake. “You boys ready for bowling and a sleepover?” She asked and the boys whooped as they left the table to get their things. “Obviously not packed and ready.” She laughed.
“I think they’re looking forward to it.” He chuckled and took her hand to lead her around to sit on the thigh that was currently unoccupied. “My two best girls, how I love you.” He murmured and kissed her tenderly.
“Love you too sweet man.” She toyed with the scruff at his jaw, lost for a moment in those eyes of dusty blue that saw straight to her soul. He was at peace and happy, and she’d do it all over again to see him just like this.
“Go shower, you need to get ready too.” He said softly, that mischievous glint in his eye making her slightly wary. “I need you out of the house so I can setup our very romantically cheesy Valentine’s Day.” He grinned. “Megan agreed to take you out for coffee until eleven.”
“So bossy.” She chuckled and flicked his nose. “Should I be wearing anything in particular for this romantic date of said cheese?” She loved seeing this man at peace with himself, her man.
“Black lace and scarlet lips kitten. That’s all you ever need to wear for me.” He purred softly and nibbled that spot below her ear that made her thoughts vanish in an instant.
“So I take it we’re not having cheesy sex tonight.” She grinned.
He devoured her mouth, that slow, toe curling kiss to melt her brain. “Sex with you will never be cheesy or cliche kitten.” He growled, that tone already doing things to her. “You deserve only the best of what I have to give you.” He smirked at the soft whimper as he kissed her thoroughly. “Go get ready.” He purred.
“Only if you kiss me like that again.” She breathed, her body was suddenly yearning for his touch.
His low chuckle before he kissed her made her pussy throb. “Something like that?”
“Mmmm.” She hummed dreamily as she stood. “Just like that.”
“Go shower, come on Lily bear, time to get you cleaned up and dressed as well.” He chuckled as Sildie sashayed to their room. Those hips, he thought as he cocked his head to the side watching her, they were dynamite when she walked like that.
Once the kids were ready Sildie took them upstairs to grandpas and settled them in. After hugs and kisses goodbye, Megan grabbed her coat and the two were off on their first solo coffee date. They took a booth seat and Sildie was surprised how much in common she had with Stellans wife. Talking and laughing she soon found it was close to eleven and her heart felt lighter.
“Thank you.” Megan said softly as they approached Sildie’s door. “Stellan has been so worried for Gustaf regarding... her.” Sildie was glad she hadn’t said Ana’s name out loud. “Thank you for bringing his son back to him.”
Sildie didn’t know what to say to that.
“And I’ve embarrassed you, I’m sorry.” She chuckled.
“No it’s just... I don’t know.” She huffed and smiled. “I’m still acclimating to the fact I have a family and one that cares so deeply for one another.”
“You get used to it after a while, the whole huge family thing. They’ll grow on you.”
“I’m sure.” She snorted.
“Anyway, have a good night and come get the kids whenever, we like having them over.”
“I’ll try to get over before lunch so it’s not eating into your weekend too much.”
“Before dinner is early enough. They have lots to do and you both need some adult time after the events of this week.” Megan hugged Sildie and she felt such warmth from the woman, almost like a sister she’d never had. “Have fun.”
“I’m sure we will, I have no idea what he has planned.” She chuckled.
“Just laugh and enjoy.”
Sildie waited until Megan was securely in the elevator before opening the door, just in case. She couldn’t help the laugh as her eyes fell on the explosion of red and white hearts and balloons that covered nearly the entire living area floor plan, the Gustaf sized bear in the one seat the perfect touch of cliche. Red and white fairy lights were strung haphazardly throughout the living room and a pizza box was sitting on the table ready for lunch, complete with candlelight.
“You sure know how to do chee...” Her thoughts died on her tongue as she turned and saw him standing there in a tux, a single red rose in his hand. Those eyes of perfect blue zeroed in on her and he stalked toward her. The beast ensnaring his prey.
“You seem to have found my very cheesy Valentine’s amusing.” He smirked.
“It’s pretty great actually.” She sighed and let herself be swept up in his arms.
“Shall I get all the cliche stuff out the way now?” He grinned and handed her the rose. “You never told me why you don’t like them.” He said softly, devilish fingers already working their brand of magic on her skin.
“It’s not that I don’t like them, I don’t like the perfect picture they represent. Love isn’t all roses and chocolates.”
“It is today.” He chuckled.
“You know what I mean.” Her smile was playful and he was thankful that she’d managed to move past the events of Thursday. “Love is messy, and beautiful, but it has to be real. Cliches aren’t real.”
“Do you know why I buy you gerberas and daisies?” He asked and she shook her head.
“I figured you just liked them.” She shrugged. “You’re different in a good way love.”
“They we’re my grandmothers favorite.” He said softly. “You remind me of her at times, your strength in particular, and I like to think she saw us both struggling and urged the universe to bring us together. I’m glad she did.” He cupped her face in his hands and kissed her, slowly ravaged that talented mouth.
“I love it when you kiss me like that.” She was floating and she was high on him.
“Mmmm. I’ll be doing more than just kissing you soon kitten. But for now, shall we continue our really cheesy date?” She felt the smirk against her throat.
“Cheese away you goofball. A well dressed, sexy one at that.” She purred and let her hand wander over his chest underneath the jacket.
“It’s rented.” He grinned and her laugh set his heart alight with joy. That laugh made everything in his world right side up again. “I had to do it right.” He led her to the table and flipped the pizza box lid open to reveal a heart shaped pizza. “I’m told it still tastes like pizza.” He chuckled.
“You went all out.”
“Oh you ain’t seen nothing yet sweetheart.” He scoffed and inwardly smirked. Just wait until next Friday, he thought, that’s going to blow your clever mind completely.
“I bet honey bun.”
“That sounds really corny.” He grimaced.
“Don’t like that one?” Her giggle set him off and they laughed as he sat and pulled her into his lap.
“Not particularly.”
“Sugar pants?” She teased.
“Ummm. No.” He grinned, his lips teasing the spot below her ear. “I prefer it when you call me daddy.” He growled softly, his kiss devouring her mouth slowly.
“So do I.” She breathed. He knew how to kiss a girl until she was putty in his hands.
“Mmmm kitten, the things I’m going to do to you tonight.” He purred and smiled against her lips at the whimper of need from her. “But food first. We have other cheesy Valentine’s Day stuff to do before then.” Her pout made him grin. “Patience kitten.” He flicked her nose and kissed her sweetly.
They sat cuddled together, eating pizza and drinking sparkling grape juice out of champagne flutes. With her head resting on his shoulder she let herself just enjoy the moment, her man, her goofball. Her goofball doing everything he can to make her feel better, to laugh, to move past a shitty week. “I have Kladdkaka.” He murmured, nibbling her ear gently. “And a box of your favorite chocolates around here somewhere.”
Her head snapped up. “You went to Chokladbutiken?”
His chuckle was almost a low growl. “Maybe.”
“Ohhhh don’t play.” She said seriously.
“Maybe I’ll feed them to you later kitten.” His fingers toyed with the soft waves of copper at her shoulder. “You’ve been wearing your hair down a lot the past few months.” He said simply, an observation at something different.
“Because I know you like it.” Her voice shook slightly with the admission.
“I love it actually. Especially when I can play with it, feel it run through my fingers.” He kissed her tenderly. “I love you Sildie. I know it’s a little corny in this exact moment with our current surroundings, but I love you.”
“I love you too. Corny or not, I still love you.” She grinned.
“On a not so corny topic. I’ll have the plans for the apartment renovation next Friday so we can go over them if you’d like, have a Friday tea date?” He had them now in his office but he wasn’t about to spill the beans on that game plan just yet.
“That would be great, get it moving along.”
“I know you wanted to wait on the building side of things until I’m back, but I thought getting the plans squared away was a good idea. They’ll have the time I’m away to get permits and all that fun stuff organized so they can start the build when I get back.” He wanted to show her he was moving on from Ana, putting their family and her first. This was his life and his priority now, the family they were becoming.
“Sounds like a good idea to me.” She kissed him sweetly. Oh it is lovely lady, he thought, so good you won’t see it coming.
After a pot of tea and clearing the table he pulled her into his arms, hit play on the iPod, and started to dance with her.
“Is that....? Oh my god Gustaf! Really?” She chuckled. All he could do was grin. She’d been expecting jazz and her entire being cringed at the Kenny G drifting out from the speakers. “No... no way, noooooo, make it stop.” She laughed as he held her tighter to him so she couldn’t run and turn it off.
“One dance and then I’ll turn it off.” He chuckled.
“If my ears aren’t bleeding by then.” She shuddered. His quick peck to her temple made her huff as he curled her in and danced, the gentle sway of two bodies moving as one. “But I like this though.” She sighed. “Being close to you.”
“It’s perfect.”
“It is. Even if the surroundings are as cheesy as it gets.” She giggled as his laugh shook in his chest.
“We both needed the laugh, the ridiculousness of it.” He held her close, the feel of her, scent of her, damn he was going to miss her while he was gone.
“We did.” She kissed him sweetly. “I love you sweet man.”
“And I adore you lovely lady.” He deepened it and let her completely swamp his senses. “So I have some movies to watch.”
“Chick flicks?” She asked.
“A few.” He growled at her ear and nipped it playfully. “Perfect fluff for today.”
“Then you’ll need what I bought while Megan and I were out.” She said cryptically. Leaving him standing there she fetched her bag and sat it on the counter. “Close your eyes.”
“No pranking.” He warned.
“No, just fun. I don’t do pranks.” As soon as his eyes were closed she pulled out the oversized love heart framed sun glasses and put them on him and then a pair on herself.
Opening his eyes the room was bathed in a rosy tint.
“Rose colored glasses huh?” His laugh had her giggling.
“Yeah, figured we could use a day looking through them.” She giggled.
“You goofball.” He chuckled. “I love you.”
“Takes one to know one.” She smiled up at him, so carefree, so at peace, and she loved that look on him. “They look good on you love.”
“They almost match those luscious lips kitten.” He purred as his thumb brushed the bottom lip she’d started to bite. “Careful.” He warned as her teeth clamped down on that lip he’d just touched.
“I’m being very careful.” She smirked.
“Mmmm, pushing your luck I see.” He pried her lip free and ghosted his lips over hers. “I’ll be collecting punishment from you later kitten.” And he would, tonight he would spank her until she screamed, it was long overdue and they both needed that intense release.
“Is that a promise?” She sighed, her body quivering as a finger trailed down her throat and over the swell of her breasts.
“It’s a promise kitten, you’re long overdue.” He kissed her, tongue teasing. “You’ve teased me enough.” He growled before devouring her mouth. “But first I have to torment you with chick flicks.” He grinned and her laugh was everything to him, no pain, no grief, nothing but joy.
“As long as you keep kissing me like that.” She said softly.
“You like it when I claim that sinful mouth don’t you?” He purred, and did it again just to satisfy them both.
“Mmm hmmm.” She hummed as her hand travelled over his thigh to palm his already hard member.
“Wicked girl.” He hissed snagging her by the wrist and tugging her closer so they could curl up on the couch.
“One second.” She said suddenly. “This can’t be comfortable.” She said looking at him still in his tux and jacket. “Lose the jacket.” She purred and slid her hands up his chest and over his shoulders, taking the jacket with them. Tossing it over the back of the couch so it wouldn’t get crushed she kissed him tenderly, undoing the top three buttons of his shirt while he saw to the cuff links at his wrists. “Better?” She asked as he rolled his sleeves up to sit at his forearms just below the elbow, which she found to be just as erotic as the V in his shirt.
“Much.” He sighed as he sat down and patted his lap as if to say, sit where you belong kitten.
“Damn it you’re even more delicious like that.” She mumbled tumbling into his lap, that sly smirk twitching his lips.
“Just how you like me.” He cocked an eyebrow and grinned.
“Just how I love you.” He wrapped his arms around her and snuggled her in. “I like it when you take care of me, make me feel safe, loved.” She said quietly as a finger toyed with the patch of chest and chest hair that was now visible. She couldn’t help the sigh as his lips met her brow and lingered there, both of them enjoying the moment of just being together.
“I like taking care of you, of our family.” He said gently. “You’re my home Sildie, you always will be love.” He kissed her hair and smiled. “Even when it’s the corniest day of the year or I’m half way across the world, you’re my home.” He smiled against her hair and felt her relax into him. Things were much better today like the doom and gloom had been wiped away, vanquished.
“This is perfect though.”
“It is.” He turned the tv on and found the list of movies he’d already preselected.
They spent most of the afternoon curled up together, watching rom coms, laughing, and letting fingers wander aimlessly. He felt the calm that had washed over them both, the absolute peace that now resided in their home. Sure there were still issues they had to face, to deal with, but they seemed manageable now that Ana was no longer a part of their lives. Her laugh was a wonderful thing, he thought as he kissed her head grinning at a punchline in the movie. Next week, he said silently, next week he’d ask her to be his wife. They ate dinner, a selection of finger food, a charcuterie board filled with cheese and meat, nuts and fruit as they cuddled together and watched the sun retire for the evening.
She turned in his lap to straddle him and fed him a fork full of Kladdkaka before enjoying one of her own.
“Damn that’s good.” He chuckled. “The kid sure knows how to cook.”
“Yeah he does. He’s starting to cook for Eija in a few weeks.” She said softly.
“It’ll be good for him.” He agreed.
“He’s excited and scared at the same time, a learning curve but a good one.” She chuckled.
“Eija will keep an eye on him. They seem to get along ok.” He said nipping her jaw playfully.
“Yeah, I just think he’s worried he’ll let her down.”
“I’ll talk with him before I go, settle his mind a little.” He said honestly.
She kissed him sweetly. “You’re a good man Gustaf.” She said gently. “He looks up to you.”
“When I’m not fucking things up and he’s getting mad at me.” He grumbled and she giggled.
“Had that been any other situation I would have laughed. Looking back he was so sweet and comical.” Her smile one of pride as well as humor.
“He loves you Sildie.” He smiled.
“I know he does and I was proud of him actually, for standing up to you.” She fiddled with the buttons of his shirt, it did it to her every time, a white dress shirt made him so damn irresistible. “It took balls.”
“It did.” He smiled. “I’m proud of him too. Just goes to show that he’ll stand up to others for himself and his family.”
“Make sure you tell him that.” She said softly. Those eyes, she thought, they are the window to your soul love.
“Count on it.” He kissed her tenderly. “He’s trying so hard to move past it all.” His tone soft.
“He’s talked to you?” She was somewhat surprised as Brendan barely let anyone see how much he was really hurting.
Gustaf nodded. “A little, not too in depth, but he’s told me a little of how he’s feeling.” He saw the tears well in her eyes and kissed her gently. “Don’t cry love.”
“No these are tears of relief.” She smiled with a soft chuckle. “I’m happy that he has someone other than me that he feels comfortable with, can trust and talk to.”
“It’ll take time love, he’s still a little shy.” His thumb caught the stray tear and she hurried to swipe the rest away.
“He is, but... you’re so good for them love.” She kissed him, that sweetness and unbound love flowing from her. “You’re a good man.” She said gently.
“You make me better.” He smiled. “Make me want to be better.” His kiss was nothing short of earth shattering, the love, the hunger. A hunger for her, only her.
“Mmmm, do that again.” She sighed and with a grin he deepened the kiss, tongue teasing hers.
“I think the corny, cheesy date is over kitten.” He purred softly. “Because I want to do things to you.” He breathed, nipping the shell of her ear gently.
“What things?” She murmured, her finger hooking in the V of his shirt and toying with the button. Biting her bottom lip she looked at him from under her lashes and saw the desire spark in his eyes.
“Things that start with me putting you over my knee.” He growled, gripping her chin firmly he released her captured lip with his thumb before kissing it gently. “Mine.” That low rumble doing all sorts of wonderful things to her girly bits. “I think it’s time you learned what that does to me kitten, punish you for tormenting that bottom lip of yours when I’ve told you not to.” The whimper made him smirk against her lips. “You like the sound of that don’t you kitten?”
“Yes.” Did she ever, she wanted to feel every inch of him take her as he spanked her tonight.
“I want you to go to the bathroom, freshen up, and paint those lips ruby red for me.” He kissed the spot below her ear and she shivered against him. “You know how I like them when they’re red.” He purred running his thumb over her bottom lip before claiming it tenderly. “Then I want you on your knees in front of the chair, waiting for me.” His tone made it known it wasn’t a request. He stopped touching her so suddenly her eyes shot open. “Go now kitten.” He whispered. “Don’t make me wait for you.” His low growl a warning and he saw the ripple of excitement flash in her eyes briefly before she climbed off his lap and went to their room.
