We already have the Percy baby au but are we also in that same au "The biggest custody battle ever"?
We start with the normal baby Percy, where instead of a teenage Percy we have a baby Percy, but this au is also a mix of the pregnant Loki au
In the PJ universe, Sally got pregnant and gave birth to Percy normally and since Percy is Poseidon's only daughter she gives her a little attention and affection, but during the night baby Percy is taken across the magic bridge, I forgot the name sorry) to the ror universe and reappears in loki's womb exactly the same way it happens in pregnant loki au
By then we all know what happens so I'm going to skip the part where the Norse and Greek family get attached and start to love baby Percya, my interesting idea comes after this
Meanwhile, in the ror universe, Loki gives birth to baby Percy, who during the gestation period became a deity, I will explain more about this concept below:
for the divining of baby Percy I am based on two myths the birth of Dionysus and the creation of the Milky Way, in the first myth it is said that after showing his real divine form to one of his lovers it is pulverized leaving it in the dust only the baby she was pregnant with and to avoid the death of the fetus Zeus opened a slit in her thigh where he placed it until birth and because he was generated for three months in a divine body when he was born he already possessed divinity, In the myth of the Milky Way, Ivy is tricked by the Antenna into breastfeeding Hercules, but he suckled with such force that he hurt the goddess's chest, who with a scream moved away and ended up spilling her divine milk towards the sky, ending up like this for creating the Milky Way
Percy had already been born when she was transposed into the Ror universe, but as she didn't yet have the Achilles curse, her little body would disintegrate, so to prevent this from happening, Bifrost placed Percy in Loki's womb (I can't think of a specific reason, maybe he was just the closest compatible person at the time? I kind of like to think that Bifrost is conscious and chose Loki thinking about his compatibility with Percy)
for being generated for another nine months (or less) in a divine womb, Percy's humanity was being consumed by Loki's divine power (imagine red paint and white paint, a small portion of the two was mixed which resulted in a pinkish tone, Now imagine that this same pink tone for months received small amounts of a new shade of red, the shade of pink that was once a perfect balance between red and white has now become a new shade of red, you and I know that this shade before it was pink but anyone looking at it now would be unable to know that as the pink/white tone has been diluted to the point where it almost doesn't exist; this is exactly what happened to Percy's human genes, they were consumed and eventually erased by the genes loki's divine genes until all that was left were ror poseidon's also divine genes)
In some myths it is said that a large part of Hercules' strength comes from the fact that he was suckled by the divine milk of Hera (who had the strongest milk among all the goddesses), so drinking Loki's divine milk would be the final nail in the coffin to kill Baby Percy's humanity (mainly because Loki spent several months breastfeeding Baby Percy, unlike Baby Hercules who was only breastfed once by Hera)
Meanwhile in the PJ universe the gods finally discovered where baby Percy went and how to get her back, Poseidon tells Sally that he is going to get their baby and after much imputation on Sally's part he agrees to take her along, the two of the other Greek gods use the Bifrost of their universe to reach the ror universe
That's when all the shit happens:
With an explosion of light from the Bifrost, the PJ Greek gods, enter the ROR universe and meet their ROR counterparts.the first thing Sally sees is baby Percy and she screams for her baby and that's what breaks everyone out of their trance, Loki is obviously offended as a random human screams that it's his baby's hand, pj Poseidon holds her arm stopping her to run towards Loki
The ror gods are exuding a huge murderous aura, especially Poseidon and Loki, so PJ Zeus begins to explain that they are from another world and that in fact Baby Percy is the son of PJ Poseidon
OBVIOUSLY the ror gods do not accept this explanation and a huge fight ensues, the ror gods and the PJ gods are arguing about which of them has the right to the child, and then someone (probably ror Eris) proposes to decide this in a divine court/judgment, the PJ gods argue that ror Zeus will be partial to his brother so everyone decides to bring in another Zeus from another dimension (maybe the Zeus from "BLOD OF ZEUS")
The entire trial would be a much more violent version of that biblical tale where King Solomon had to judge which of the two women was telling the truth about being the real mother of the living baby and which of them was lying and was actually the mother of the dead baby
The PJ gods argue that Percy's biological parents are Sally and Poseidon since it was his seed that impregnated Sally and it was she who originated, carried, cared for and breastfed Percy until she was kidnapped from her crib and taken to this world
The ror gods argue that they are also Percy's biological parents since Loki also carried, cared for and breastfed Percy, they also emphasize that Percy is a complete God and not a demigod therefore it would be impossible for Sally to give Percy the necessary care
Of course, the Norse ror gods also enter the discussion, I argue that if Bifrost chose the ror gods as parents, it is because he judged that the PCs would be incapable of properly raising the child, Grandpa Odin is not willing to let anyone take away his granddaughter. of the family and Uncle Thor (who will be a secret romantic yandere hahaha) won't let anyone take his niece (and future wife) out of his reach
This arouses the interest of PJ Zeus, who now really wants to take Baby Percy back (maybe he will also discover that Percy is essential to the future survival of Olympus) PJ Poseidon argues that he will take Sally and Baby Percy to live in Atlantica
which is countered by ror poseidon who points out that the tides over PJ Poseidon's domain are tainted and who asks why he didn't take Percy to live with him sooner (think that before the trial boz Zeus analyzed each of the worlds and how were the conditions of the parents)
I just imagine Sally crying and begging them to give her baby back, PJ Zeus says that if they want a child so much, just ror poseidon and loki make one instead of stealing one from a pair of worried parents
of course the ror gods are being supported by the other ror pantheon, everyone fears and hates Poseidon and Loki but they still love baby percy who is so cute and charismatic always trying to pull her hair and smiling whenever she is held by someone
Loki is not moved by Sally's crying and absolutely denies that anyone other than him has the title of Percy's mother, Ror Poseidon seems to me like those men who find it disgusting to create someone who has no biological ties to you but the way he is a hypocrite he will probably become the number one defender of that saying "father is the one who takes care"
Meanwhile baby Percy is being held by boz Zeus who is in the judge's place, she doesn't even have the mental capacity to understand what is happening so while the tension and the desire to kill grows she is playing with some toy until she feels hungry, at that moment she cries and boz Hera says that she is probably hungry and at that moment both Sally and Loki get up with the intention of going to Percy to breastfeed her
This is the breaking point because after seeing Sally get up Loki tries to attack her, the PJ gods defend her and in the end they all decide to determine custody in a battle to the death, so now years before Ragnarok the gods are organizing the coliseum to carry out the greatest battle that has ever happened, God against God with only one objective: to have custody of baby Percy
This conflict is so big and violent that it makes all the confusion that generated the Trojan War seem like child's play, baby Percy is literally the new golden apple that started a war between worlds, in the background the PJ and Ror Éris are wondering if MAYBE Baby Percy isn't actually a descendant of one of them
honestly it's very difficult to write an idea and in my head it had much more detail, I can't even imagine how exhausting it must be for you to write a fanfic, you DEFINITELY have my respect I would also love it if you could present how you think the ror poseidon would react, I tried but trying to write about him seemed impossible, and thank you so much for that comment you wrote about how I should be a dark romance writer, it inspired me and I'm really going to start organizing myself to start writing and post on my tumblr 😘😘😘)
first off, this was so beautifully written, i was entertained by every word you typed 😭 you are very big brained 🧠
i can just imagine, as an act of desperation, maybe one of the pjo!gods would (zeus??) would mention the great prophecy and how percy, as one of the children of the big three, would be a strong contender for being the prophecy child that could save/raze olympus
but that would be a huuuuuuuuge mistake to mention because that would just make the ror gods pissed 💀 they're essentially asking for percy back just so they could use her, plus, none of the ror!gods would give a shit if the pjo universe was in danger, they'd be happy if they were all to die
either way, i definitely see the poseidons having a whole cat fight in the middle of the court. idk, maybe one of them tried to teach percy how to say 'dada' and the other one just lost his shit 😂 as for sally, poor woman's gonna need to be guarded 24/7 cuz she's in the BIGGEST danger in here. not only is she human, but she's claiming to be percy's mother, i definitely see some gods trying to assassinate her when the chance comes

Adding up to that Severus has a not-so-secret daughter au! Some good nasty drama
Since the lycanthropy is based on the AIDs and they can be passed down to offspring, let me introduce you to:
After the Prank, Severus did get infected but never went through the actual transformation, so he just carries it in his blood with some side effects (maybe he eats raw meat now and has sharper senses, who knows). But even if he's not a werewolf as such, he still has the infection in him...and his daughter is born with it, turning into a full werewolf each moon and overall suffering all the regular effects of the curse.
Just one more reason for them to dislike lupin (and the marauders in general)
I REALLY hate Lycanthropy being tied to HIV/AIDs. I know the author said so, but she says alot of things that suck, and that's one of them. It's a real stinker.
In any case, Lycanthropy isn't actually passed down from parent to child - that's a myth, perpetuated by the fact so few Werewolves ever have children. Remus was worried - but its just another point on his list of "things he is anxious about that aren't real/don't matter as much as he thinks they do" He has nothing to fear about sex. He would have more to fear about kissing - but even then, that isn't how Lycanthropy works.
It doesn't change your genes. Its a magical disease - you don't become a non-human, your DNA isn't changed. You're only contagious at the Full Moon, about 12 hours a month and ONLY via saliva, not blood or sexual fluids. Even if Severus was partially infected with cursed wounds, like Bill Weasley - as he doesn't transform he cannot pass it on.
Same with HIV/AIDs. A father doesn't pass it to their child. The DNA/RNA in his sperm does not have HIV - just the fluids it is carried in. A mother can pass it down through the pregnancy, childbirth fluids or breastfeeding - but not necessarily.
In order to have a child infected with Lycanthropy Severus would need to be fully bitten by Remus and then also bite his own child - or pick up a child from somewhere that has already been bitten.
And that's cute. Why is Severus so good at brewing Wolfsbane...? He's been doing it for his daughter for years already. But I don't really see how, even if you HC that Lycanthropy can be passed down to children via the fathers DNA, that it is something to 'dislike Remus' about...? Remus wasn't a part of that prank. He was a sick boy who did everything right. He wasn't wandering around, he wasn't being reckless - he was hiding in the shack. He was as much a victim of the prank as much as Severus was.
The Ministry has shifted whether they consider Werewolves as 'Beings' or 'Creatures' for years - and in either case, whether they are considered 'people' or 'animals' - they don't have human rights. Just being found out is a danger to Remus' life.
Remus would be mortified to know he had even partially infected Severus... even more so that his Lycanthropy had been fully passed onto a child. He would be DEVASTATED. He would be torn between feeling some responsibility over the child, to teach them how to manage their condition... and wanting to run as far away as possible, hide in a hole - and die from shame.

Notes on "Ambidextrous Angle" here
Notes on the flowers in ep.8 here
Notes on the colors in ep.10 here
Notes on the numbers on the car plae of No.3 and KMC here
Is justice really blind?
In the drama we have been introduced to the "Lady Justice" several times by now and she in fact takes a very important role in it, even if only in the background.
And throughout the drama, there are a handful of scenes where the characters question "why is she blind(folded)" and we also see pictures of her in KSJ book which depicts her blind version. We can see this very clear by one of the last scenes in ep.8 where KMC picks up the book from his table and flicks through the pages followed by a flashback of KSJ saying "This always bothered me. Lady Justic wears a blindfold because she's afraid of bias in decisions"
But is this really historically and mythologically accurate? Was "Lady Justic" (who btw goes by so many more names) really blindfolded? And if so why?
This post while explain:
The location and date of build of the Lady Justice depicted in KSJ book
Why the location/date is important
Depictions of Justitia
What did she really look like? What are her origins?
The meanings of her three (Actually 5) distinct features
How does it relate to the drama?
First of all, lets adress the Lady Justice' depicted in KSJ book. On of them- the one circled- is a statue of her located in the Old Town of Frankfurt am Main, Hessen, Germany. Below, there is a better photo of her exact location.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Justitia statue fountain is a fountain called the "Gerechrigkeitsbrunnen" sculpted by Friedrich Schierholz in 1887. Its a replica of a fountain sculpted in 1611 (which again, was also a replica of a fontain built in 1543). The 4 virtues depicted below Justitia are:
Iustitia (Justice)- with sword of judgment and balance.
Temperantia (Control)- Moderation, distributing a liquid between two pitchers.
Spes (Hope) with a dove on her arm.
Charitas (Charity) with two children, one of whom she is breastfeeding.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why is the exact location or more date when she was built important to the question of "Is she really blind(folded)?"
Because, when the fountain was build, only then the whole myth of "Justice being blind" started.
It actually dates back to the mid 15th century where it first started as her being one eyed, then suddenly she was blindfolded. And the first known representation of her being blind is Hans Gieng's statue on the Gerechtigkeitsbrunnen in Bern, Switzerland built in 1543.
Tumblr media
Different depictions of Justitia throughout the years/centuries.
There exist several renditions of her and they all changed over time. One source tells about a mortuary temple in egypt, honoring Pharao Ramses the Great. And it is said that in this temple there is a scene depicting judgment wher the associate judges had no hands and the presiding judge had closed his eyes. And from this, another depiction of Lady Justice developed in the middle ages: Justice, depicted as a woman, blindfolded and without hands. The sources then say "she has her right eye closed so that she doesn't recognize neither friends or rich people. And she has her left eye closed so that she doesn't recognize the poor and enemies (of the judge). With it, she doesn't judge by personal bias. And she doesn't have any hands either so she cannot accept bribes."
Which means, two versions - Justitia without hands and blindfolded, and Justitia with hands and blindfolded- coexisted then at the time.
In the late middle ages, both depictions started to merge. But this bears the question: If no hands, how can she hold the scale and the sword? In one of the older depictions of the "Combined Justitia" in the Lawbook of the City Eisenach, Thuringia, Germany- there she is with only one arm, holding the sword, while the scale is placed on the stump of her arm. At the same time, one of her eye is covered while the other isnt.
This later resulted in Lady Justice being blindfolded on both eyes.
But why was Justitia suddenly blindfolded? There is no exact answer to this question, only theories. One says "it seems to have been added to indicate the tolerance, or ignorance to, abuse of the law by the judicial system."
But how did roman/greek Justitia originally look like? What are her general origins?
"Lady Justice" was originall not blindfolded (and also not blind), and because of her "maidenly form" is supposed to guarantee her impartiality which renders the blindfold completely redunant.
In original iconographies of the ancient roman times Justitia was never blindfoded. She only held a sword and as scale, wore something akin to a crown and her Toga (more on these things down below)
Her origins date back to the ancient roman time (or greek, if we follow her greek counterpart Dike) and roman mythology where she was introduced by the emperor (Caesar) Augustus- and thus not a very old deity of the roman pantheon.
Justice was one of the virtues celebrated by Augustus in his "Clipeus Virtuis" (lat.: Shield of Bravery)- a temple of Iustitia was then established by in Rome by emperor Tiberius on January the 8th, 13 BC.
In roman mythology she only plays a role in one part which is the myth of the "Golden age" (based on the greek myth by Hesiod in his poem "Works and Days"). Here Justitia, identifying as Astraea, is the last of the celestials, leaving a "crime-filled earth" of the iron age to return to her supernatural homeland. Other sources say, she gets transported to the sky as the constellation of the Virgin.
She finds mention in the greek term "Dikaiosyne"- There she is counted by some priests as the one of the cardinal virtues.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What does the scale, sword, crown, toga and blindfold represent?
The scale: represent weighing facts and evidence to decide a verdict. It also shows her duty to restore balance to society
The sword: represented authority in ancient times, and conveys the idea that justice can be swift and final.
The crown: its represent authority and strength
The toga: a Greco-Roman garment which symbolizes the status of the philosophical attitude that embodies justice.
The blindfold: Is intended to show Justice as blind to the injustice carried on before her, but it has been reinterpreted over time and is now understood to represent impartiality, the ideal that justice should be applied without regard to wealth, power, or other status.
So, how does it relate to the drama?
Its really nice to see a drama actually diving deeper into the meaning of her, especially questioning her role in the whole judicial system and why she looks the way she looks (also, the dramas focus on her in general is really nice- shes basically omnipresent all the time): Just like the drama, she is a rather ambiguous figure. Her appearance changes for who ever looks at her, her symbolism changes for who ever looks at her. For some, she is justice, for some she is nothing more than a chess figure.
(fun fact: i was able to figure out where the fountain is located not by the statue but by the small bit of the rooftops we see in the photo. umm... a german doing what we can do best: recognize german architecture haha)
Also, who ever has not yet looked at @onomatopagu-et-cie threads on this drama should definitely check them all out ♡

This sculpture has to do with the myth that explains the creation of the Milky Way.
The Milky Way for the Greeks represented milk lost by Era (June for the Romans) while breastfed Hercules, which spilled and scattered in the sky. Hercules, in fact, was the son of Zeus and the mortal Alcmenala, who, for fear of retaliation by the consort of the king of gods, abandoned him immediately after birth.
Zeus, who cared very much about the newborn, made sure with Athena's complicity that his wife herself found him in the fields. He was, intenerated, immediately breastfed him, making him immortal. While she breastfed him, a few drops of her milk ended up heavenly.
The term galaxy, which today designates every gigantic cluster of gas and stars as the Milky Way, comes from the Greek Ilα, milk, and goes directly back to this myth.
“She was breastfeeding Hercules” by Johan Niclas Byström (1783-1848)

Revealing Facts: A Helpful Guide on HIV/AIDS
Tumblr media
You can have HIV without having any symptoms. This is why it’s extremely important to get tested regularly, even if you don’t feel sick.
According to WHO, the cases of HIV/AIDS have increased lately. HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that attacks a specific type of cell in your body’s immune system, which helps the system in fighting off infections and diseases. If HIV progresses, it can lead to AIDS, a more severe condition where the immune system is badly damaged. HIV is transmitted through unprotected sexual intercourse, sharing needles, or from an infected mother to her baby during childbirth or breastfeeding. There are different symptoms at each stage of infection. Having these symptoms may suggest a person has HIV. If left untreated, HIV can lead tseo more serious health issues.
Having accurate information is crucial to avoid any false assumptions related to HIV/AIDS. HIV/AIDS is surrounded by many myths and misunderstandings such as; it is spread through sneezing, coughing or sharing drinks. This is not true, the way it is transmitted is through specific bodily fluids such as blood, semen, vaginal fluids, and breast milk.

Breastfeeding Myths and Facts: Separating Fiction from Reality
Tumblr media
A wonderful and natural method to nourish your baby is breastfeeding. It gives your baby all the nutrients they need for healthy growth and development. Breastfeeding not only delivers the best nutrition for the infant, but it also has many other advantages for the mother.
Breastfeeding for the baby can help strengthen their immune system, lower their risk of illnesses, and minimise their risk of SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome). Additionally, breastfeeding fosters a close link between mother and child by providing safety and comfort to your infant.
Breastfeeding can help moms lose weight, cut their risk of postpartum depression, and lower their risk of developing certain cancers. Additionally, nursing generates hormones that facilitate bonding and relaxation, making it a wonderful method to establish a connection with your child.
Tumblr media
Along with the beautiful journey of breastfeeding, it comes along with lots of myths and misconceptions. Many mothers are not even aware of the reality of these myths.
Breastfeeding is easy: It’s not easy to breastfeed a baby because a mother needs practical support with positioning the baby so that the baby can latch. Breastfeeding takes time and practice for both mothers and babies and is also time intensive, so mothers need space and support at home and work.
Mothers should only eat plain food while breastfeeding: breastfeeding mothers should need to eat a balanced diet. There is no need to change food habits unless the doctor suggests it.
You should separate the newborn baby and mother so that she can take rest: Doctors, nurses, and midwives encourage the practice of skin-to-skin contact immediately after the birth. Bringing the baby to direct contact with the mother helps to establish breastfeeding.
Mothers shouldn’t breastfeed if sick: Mothers can typically continue nursing when unwell, depending on the disease. You must ensure that you receive the proper care and enough rest, good nutrition, and hydration. Often, the antibodies your body produces to combat your sickness or illness will be passed on to your baby, helping him or her to develop their defences.
It’s hard to wean the baby if mothers breastfeed for more than a year: There is evidence that nursing for up to two years is advantageous for both women and children, but there is no proof that stopping breastfeeding beyond one year is more complicated. Since every mother and baby are unique, they must decide jointly how long to nurse.
Breastfeeding is a journey for mothers and babies that is both challenging and rewarding. In today’s generation, too many households believe in such myths and probably there is no one to debunk them. Filaantro along with Child Help Foundation has helped breastfeeding mothers understand the benefits of breastfeeding, the myths, and the facts. The organization has also established 18 Baby Feeding Centres in Pan India at hospitals, temples, and railway stations. Through this initiative, 56,615 beneficiaries have benefitted. Thus, helping mothers with a safe and secure haven to comfortably breastfeed their babies.

Myths Of Breast Augmentation Procedures-Debunked
Tumblr media
Breast augmentation is a hot topic among the women of today. Many celebrities and big stars opt for this procedure, making this procedure a highly trendy topic in the modern world.
In fact, breast augmentation procedures are the most popular form of cosmetic procedures today. There are women who are not happy with the size of their breasts, have sagging breasts after pregnancy, have asymmetrical breasts, etc. These rising concerns are another reason as to why the breast augmentation surgery has gained so much of popularity and importance.
However, there are myths revolving around the breast augmentation procedures which need to be busted straight away! So, here are the top 8 myths about breast augmentation procedures :
All breast implants are fake and huge:
This is a completely delusional fact because a professional and trained cosmetic surgeon at Kaayakalp can help you choose a natural look that will bond with your body type very well. With correct placement and proper size, breast implants look completely natural.
2. Autoimmune diseases are caused by breast implants:
The quality that are used today are highly advanced than the ones used in the 1960’s. They go through a lot of testing and collection of data which the previous generation of implants did not go through. There is no strict evidence about breast implants causing autoimmune diseases. There have been several studies where thousands of women deny any connection between breast implants and autoimmune diseases. However, a very rare type of lymphoma known as Breast Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma has been connected to breast implants. But, it is a rare disease and is highly treatable through surgical removal of the implant and the capsule surrounding it.
3. Women can choose the cup size they want:
Breast augmentations have the primary objective of giving the patient fuller breasts and natural-looking results. When it comes to breast implants, the bigger is not always the better! It is important to analyze the height and weight of the patient, the current breast size as well as the size and weight of the implants for the usage of right implants for the right body types.
4. Replacement of the implants are needed after 10 years:
There is no hard and fast rule about when the implants need to be replaced. The most common reasons for which they are replaced are ruptures, capsular contractures, leakages or a complication with the surrounding scar tissue of the breast implant. They are not intended to stay forever but neither is there any particular date for them to be replaced. The thing is, the longer a patient has an implant, the higher the risk of a rupture or a leakage. The best way to prevent unwanted complications is to have regular follow-ups with the doctor through sonograms, mammograms, MRIs or breast exams.
5. It is dangerous to breastfeed while having implants:
There are studies that prove that no potential threats are involved with breastfeeding while having saline or silicone implants.
6. Immediate results are achieved after surgery:
This is not true because after surgery, it takes time for the breasts to heal from the swelling. In the beginning, the implants are situated high up in the chest cavity and takes some time to get back to a natural position. So, it needs a bit of time after which they look fantastic!
7. Breast implants give you the perfect body:
A breast augmentation surgery is to dramatically improve the way your breasts appear and not create a completely new body. There are considerable improvements in proportions which give you an enhanced overall appearance but they don’t rid you of thigh or waist fat. Realistic expectations are much needed during a breast augmentation surgery to prevent unnecessary emotional distress.Beautiful and enhanced appearance of the breasts can be expected but not that of a perfect body. That is delusional.
8. Recovery from the surgery is ultra-painful:
This is a widely believed myth and a very wrong one. Many women have a minuscule amount of pain after a breast augmentation surgery whereas, other women might experience pain for the initial few days, post-surgery. It differs from person to person. The pain that the surgery brings can be very easily managed through prescribed medicines and over-the-counter relievers.
A breast augmentation procedure or any other cosmetic surgery can be a very big step in your life. So, it is better to know the reality than be enveloped in a series of myths that stop you from being a part of the process of betterment.

Why Breastfeeding Matters: A Closer Look through the Principles of Ayurveda
Tumblr media
Understanding Breastfeeding: Dispelling Myths and Embracing Facts
Breastfeeding involves nourishing an infant with breast milk, usually via direct contact between the nipple and the baby's mouth. Although views on breastfeeding can differ, the predominant agreement is that it provides significant benefits to both mothers and infants. The choice to breastfeed is deeply personal, but making an informed decision requires a clear understanding of the associated facts and advantages.
The Ayurvedic View on Breast Milk and Breastfeeding
In the realm of Ayurveda, breast milk is known as Stanya. Ayurvedic experts explain that Stanya originates from Rasadhatu, a substance produced from our dietary intake. The release of breast milk is primarily initiated by the baby’s suckling reflex.
Colostrum, the first type of breast milk produced, is rich in vital nutrients crucial for the newborn's development. Ayurveda highlights the extensive benefits of breastfeeding not only for infants but for mothers as well. Let’s delve deeper into the myriad advantages of breastfeeding from an Ayurvedic perspective.

7 Myths About Breastfeeding Debunked - Kanupriya
Tumblr media
The ‘first milk’ — or colostrum — is rich in antibodies and gives newborns an immunity boost while their own immune systems are still developing.
Did you know? Breastfeeding protects your baby from ear infections, diarrhoea, pneumonia and other childhood diseases. Moreover, did you know that it also protects the mother from diabetes, breast and ovarian cancers and heart disease.
Myth 1: Breastfeeding is complicated.
Fact: Breastfeeding is a simple process.
Babies have a natural instinct to seek their mother’s breast. Some moms may require practical assistance in ensuring that their baby is properly latched to the breast initially. For both mothers and newborns, breastfeeding comes naturally after the first few tries.
Myth 2: Breastfeeding is painful
Fact: Breastfeeding is generally not painful. Sometimes it is painful due to sore nipples. Sore nipples can be treated with topical application of certain medicated creams, desi ghee, etc.
Myth 3: Before breastfeeding, you should clean your nipples.
Fact: It is not required to wash your nipples before breastfeeding. When babies are born, they are already familiar with the smells and sounds of their mother. The nipples create a sense of security and familiarity for the baby.
Myth 4: To give the mother time to rest immediately after birth, you should separate the infant and the mother.
Fact: Skin-to-skin care, also known as kangaroo mother care, is frequently encouraged by doctors, nurses, and midwives shortly after birth. Bringing your baby into direct contact with your skin, so that their skin is against yours, is a crucial step in assisting both mother and baby in initiating breast feeding.
Myth 5: While breastfeeding, you should only eat bland foods.
Fact: Breastfeeding women, like everyone else, require a well-balanced diet. From the moment they are born, babies are exposed to their mothers’ eating preferences. It is best to consult a dietitian if a mother believes her infant is reacting to a certain meal she eats.
Myth 6: If you’re breastfeeding, you can’t take any medications.
Fact: It’s critical to tell your doctor that you’re nursing and to read the directions on any over-the-counter drugs. You may need to take medicines at a specific time interval, in a specific dosage, or to use a different formulation altogether. Consult your doctor before starting any medication while breast feeding.
Myth 7: Clingy babies are those that have been breastfed.
Fact: Every child is unique. No matter how they are fed, some are clingy and some are not. Common Facts and Misconceptions About Endometriosis
Tumblr media
One of the most common misconceptions regarding endometriosis is the belief that it's merely a case of serious menstrual pain. While painful periods are a symptom of endometriosis, the condition extends far beyond that. Endometriosis can cause chronic pelvic pain, pain during intercourse, digestive and urinary disorders, fatigue, and even infertility. The nature of symptoms can vary widely among individuals, with some experiencing debilitating pain and others having minimal discomfort. At Sunrise Hospital, the expert team of endometriosis doctors understands the multifaceted nature of the conditions.
Contrary to popular belief, endometriosis can affect women of all ages, including teenagers and women in their 20s and 30s. Delayed diagnosis is often attributed to the misconception that endometriosis is a condition that only develops later in life. In reality, symptoms can manifest soon after menstruation, leading to years of suffering if left untreated. Sunrise Hospital's top endometriosis doctors prioritize early detection and intervention, ensuring that patients receive timely and effective care regardless of their age.
Pregnancy is not a cure for endometriosis, although it is true that some women feel temporary relief from the condition during pregnancy. Many women find that their symptoms return after giving birth or when they stop breastfeeding. Endometriosis can significantly impact fertility, making it challenging for some women to conceive naturally. At Sunrise Hospital, the focus is on managing symptoms, preserving fertility, and improving the overall quality of life through personalized treatment plans designed in collaboration with top endometriosis doctors in Delhi.
Another common misconception about endometriosis is that it can always be detected through imaging tests such as ultrasounds or MRIs. While these tests can sometimes identify endometriotic tumors, they are not always conclusive, especially in cases of deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE) or when lesions are small or located in obscure areas. Diagnosis often requires a combination of medical history, physical examination, and minimally invasive procedures such as laparoscopy. Sunrise Hospital's specialists are skilled at using advanced diagnostic methods to accurately identify and stage endometriosis, allowing for targeted treatment and improved outcomes.
Endometriosis is not just a gynecological problem; it's a complex, systemic condition that can affect multiple organs and systems throughout the body. It has been linked to various complications, including autoimmune disorders, gastrointestinal issues, and chronic pain syndromes. As such, a multidisciplinary approach to care is essential for addressing the diverse needs of patients with endometriosis. Sunrise Hospital's team of top endometriosis doctors collaborates closely with specialists from other disciplines, including gastroenterology, urology, and pain management, to provide holistic treatment that addresses the full spectrum of symptoms and complications associated with endometriosis.
In conclusion, endometriosis is a complex and often misunderstood condition that requires specialized care from experienced healthcare providers. At Sunrise Hospital in Delhi, patients can find solace in knowing that they are in the capable hands of top endometriosis doctors who are dedicated to dispelling myths, providing accurate information, and delivering compassionate, evidence-based care. Don't let misconceptions about endometriosis stand in the way of getting the help you need.

If you have any queries about breastfeeding, your lactation consultant will be able to answer them. Some people think that breastfeeding is hard to deal with for women who have smaller breasts because they cannot produce enough milk. This is also a myth if a woman has inverted nipples it would be difficult to feed the baby. But the fact is for a newborn’s mother it is completely normal to produce enough breast milk and feed the baby to its fill as compared to a normal breast size. Colostrum, the first milk after the baby is born if fed to the baby works wonders for the baby. It protects the baby from every possible infection while nourishing the baby. According to a myth breast milk’s colour apart from white may not be good for the baby. Understanding HIV Transmission: Myths vs. Facts
Introduction
HIV, or Human Immunodeficiency Virus, is a global health concern that has impacted millions of lives. Despite the progress in medical research and awareness campaigns, misconceptions about HIV transmission still persist. Dr. Milind Kulkarni, an expert in HIV & AIDS treatment in Pune, aims to debunk these common myths and provide accurate information on how HIV is truly transmitted. In this article, we'll explore the facts about HIV transmission to help you stay informed and protect yourself and your loved ones.
Tumblr media
Myth No. 1: HIV Can Be Spread Through Casual Contact
One of the most persistent myths about HIV is that it can be transmitted through casual contact like shaking hands, hugging, or sharing utensils. The fact is that HIV is not spread through everyday social interactions. HIV is primarily transmitted through specific body fluids, including blood, semen, vaginal fluids, rectal fluids, and breast milk. It cannot survive for long outside the human body, making casual contact a safe practice.
Myth 2: Mosquitoes Can Transmit HIV
Another common misconception is that mosquitoes can transmit HIV. Thankfully, this is entirely false. HIV is a fragile virus that cannot survive within mosquitoes. It requires a specific environment, namely human body fluids, to remain infectious. You cannot contract HIV through mosquito bites, no matter where you live or travel.
Myth 3: Kissing Can Transmit HIV
Kissing is an intimate act that raises concerns for many people. However, it's essential to understand that HIV transmission through kissing is extremely unlikely, even if one partner is HIV-positive. Saliva contains enzymes that can inhibit the virus's ability to infect another person. While open-mouth kissing with an HIV-positive partner might carry a minimal risk if there are cuts or sores in both partners' mouths, the risk is still considered low.
Myth 4: Sharing Household Items Can Transmit HIV
Some people fear that using or sharing household items like towels, razors, or toothbrushes can lead to HIV transmission. Fortunately, this is not the case. HIV cannot survive outside the human body for extended periods. Even if traces of HIV-positive blood were on these items, the virus would quickly become inactive and unable to cause infection.
Myth 5: HIV Can Be Spread Through Saliva, Tears, and Sweat
HIV is not present in sufficient quantities in saliva, tears, or sweat to transmit the virus. These bodily fluids do not typically contain the high viral loads required for transmission. HIV is primarily found in blood, semen, vaginal fluids, rectal fluids, and breast milk.
Fact 1: HIV Transmission Occurs Through Specific Routes
To fully understand how HIV is transmitted, it's crucial to know the three main ways the virus can be spread:
Unprotected Sexual Contact: The most common mode of HIV transmission is through unprotected sexual intercourse with an HIV-positive person. It can be vaginal, anal, or oral sex. Using condoms correctly and consistently significantly reduces the risk of transmission.
Sharing Needles or Syringes: Sharing drug injection equipment, such as needles and syringes, with an HIV-positive person can expose individuals to the virus. This is one reason why harm reduction programs and needle exchange services are crucial in reducing HIV transmission among people who inject drugs.
HIV transmission from mother to kid: HIV can be transmitted from an HIV-positive woman to her child during pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding. However, with proper medical care and antiretroviral treatment during pregnancy and breastfeeding, the risk of transmission can be significantly reduced.
Fact 2: HIV Is Not Spread Through Casual Contact
Understanding that HIV is not transmitted through casual contact is essential for reducing stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV. Shaking hands, hugging, sharing food, using public restrooms, or swimming in pools with an HIV-positive person will not transmit the virus.
Fact 3: HIV Can Be Prevented
While HIV remains a serious health concern, it is preventable. Knowledge about safe practices and risk reduction strategies is crucial. Here are some ways to protect yourself and others:
Practice Safe Sex: Consistently using condoms during sexual activity can significantly reduce the risk of HIV transmission.
Get Tested: Knowing your HIV status is essential. Regular testing ensures early discovery and, if necessary, prompt treatment.
Use PrEP: Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is a preventive medication for individuals at high risk of HIV exposure.
Avoid Sharing Needles: If you inject drugs, use sterile needles and never share them with others.
Treatment as Prevention: People with HIV who are on antiretroviral treatment and have an undetectable viral load are unlikely to transmit the virus to their partners.
Conclusion
Understanding the facts about HIV transmission is crucial for dispelling myths and reducing stigma associated with the virus. It's essential to rely on accurate information from experts like Dr. Milind Kulkarni, an experienced HIV & AIDS doctor in Pune. By promoting accurate knowledge and practicing safe behaviors, we can work towards a future where HIV transmission is minimized, and those living with HIV receive the support and care they deserve. Remember that in the fight against HIV, information is power.
