(Considering all that, pretty neat to imagine a fun scenario where Barb notices the tattoo on Branch's chest when he gets zombified, and after World Tour finale leaves her pondering what it might mean)

Kaynn and Brazen Elk's relationship started as a rivalry. One part of that rivalry has survived to this day, and it is their eternal struggle for superior style. Kaynn had always thought he had the upper hand, but that came to an end when Tataru fashioned Brazen his ultimate red mage ensemble. Kaynn knew he couldn't best it, so the only answer was to boldly "borrow" it. While not a true victory, he finds peace in knowing he also looks rather handsome in it, but just not quite as handsome as his better half. @brazenelk

ive recently come back to Fallen London and it hit me full force how much i still enjoy the character i've built on my account, so i felt she needed an update to reflect her growth

She came to london out of curiosity and a vague dissatisfaction with the monotony of her zee-life, now she's a midnighter that utilizes the advanced skills she's learnt to go and do whatever she damn pleases (but at what cost)

Pointing at her scarred hands: used to do some rough jobs

Pointing at a scar on her arm and a long, big scar on her side: Burn scar + a deadly incident at the orphanage

Pointing at a tattoo that goes across her chest: a neathian swallow + nautical compass tattoo, to commemorate her origin and her false-star child

Below the image: Some time in the middle of constructing the railway she's stopped hiding her face in front of more noteable people, emboldened by hr status and the fact that there are stranger things than her out there. On the streets she still obscures herself, to keep a semblance of privacy.

The Jonathan/Gail scene is giving me headaches. I basically have five options:

Tack the scene onto the end of Chapter 12 (probably the simplest option pacing-wise but I think it gives the chapter a very different feel that I don’t really want);

Switch to his POV just for that scene in the middle of Robin’s chapter (awkward, considering that the rest of the fic has them alternating POVs for each chapter);

Do a Rashomon and write about the whole quarry party from Jonathan’s perspective (I think this will come across as redundant for the rest of the party because they don’t feel super-differently about the events they’re both present for);

Do a flashback in Chapter 14 to the Gail scene (potentially awkward);

Don’t make it a full scene, just have him tell Robin about it later (I kind of like this although I will be sorry to lose the complete scene).

⋯☆ Summary: She's both a blessing and a curse to him. On the one hand, she's a constant nuisance that vies for his attention any time he's in the library. On the other hand, she knows how to lift someone's spirits. Although, he wouldn't be caught dead admitting that her behavior is amusing once in a while.

⋯☆ A/N: Hi. This is a rewrite of my original Brazen/Cold fic. I'm rewriting due to missing out on a loooooot of important details. I hope it comes out better this time! Enjoy!
