Her uncle (not actually her uncle but just what she's supposed to call him (technically her father, but neither would acknowledge it even if they could know this)) Ubek. Demanding and demeaning and the only person she respects because it turns out that Braze has self-destructive tendencies that reveal themselves when she doesn't have someone bossing her around like an asshole.

Phox and Chance, two work acquaintances of Ubek that allowed Braze to travel with them after she got separated from him. They're dating: Phox is a merchant rogue who adventures because she's simply too pretty to live a boring life <3. She taught Braze how to put together an outfit and how to navigate people which is something her bastard uncle never really imparted on Braze. Chance is urchin-turned-criminal-turned-bard, who is just slightly more jaded and tried her best to be a mentor to a very avoidant young Braze. In her campaign, when she reunited with Phox and Chance, Braze said (teasing) "I bet you thought you'd find me dead in a ditch somewhere~" and Chance replied (genuine) "Kind of!"

Her mother is a prostitute named Gynida that couldn't keep her, so she passed Braze off to her childhood friend, Ubek, to find her a good home. Yeah, she suspects Ubek might be Braze's father, but it won't do anyone any good to bring that up, so both of them quietly don't acknowledge it. For her own sake, Gynida never asks what ends up happening with Braze, and although Braze asks, Ubek never tells her anything about her mother.

Another experiment, I originally wanted a spiral but didn't cut deep enough channels to survive the beveling process. Something i could fix by forging more to form.. or just cutting real deep.

The spirals do survive on the guard, tho. Something else new is that this pommel is peened in, that is, a thin piece of the tang channels all the way through it and is hammered wide on the other end to secure the pommel is place. Ironically not brazed in place like so many others. I might start doing it more, tho? Peening/riveting is fun.

The handle is standard oiled cherry but tightly wrapped by two tightly spiraled brass wires so you can't see the wood.

My idea was a kind of holy blade that's gaining divine favor in golden tally's on its way to being an ascendant weapon, or something.
