Day 7: be mine. I didn't use my dip pen at all last month. Also, I got a set of these iridescent inks for Christmas and haven't tried them out until today. I just couldn't let any of my precious art supplies feel neglected! I wrote this one 6 times and I can tell I'm rusty. I've got to make more time to practice with my dip pen again.

went to pride today (idk why it’s in july here?) and it was so lovely. even after we left, u could spot at least one person with a stickers or flags or rainbow bag on every street. drag queens who looked opera ready in 40°C weather. people screaming when they unexpectedly saw a friend in the crowd. one girl was pushing her friend around on a rollator. someone who dyed their face and beard teal and had perfect blue rhinestone makeup. dancing girls in sundresses. so many stickers. goths and pastel girlies and leather harness guys and last minute embroidery and glitter in chest hair and tiny dildo earrings. flags worn as skirts and as capes and as belts. people writing fun messages on themselves with black sharpie. there’s so many of us. there’s so many of us and we all scream along when abba comes on. i’m so happy.

FYI this is a dip pen, not a fountain pen! This particular nib is a Brause 361 Steno, a popular nib for pointed pen calligraphy. It's inexpensive and fun to play with.

Most fountain pens don't flex. They'd be damaged if you tried. I have a few that do, all of them very old gold-nibbed pens. But as cool as they are, dip nibs have superior flex. They're disposable, so you can put all the engineering into a nice, crisp springy action and not worry about wear and tear.

Eren: is the one who suggests to go to the theater, would get too emotional and rethinks about his life, he falls asleep after 20 minutes

Mikasa: is very impressed, but doesn't show it, she's overwhelmed and very supportive about the play, admires the music in the background

Armin: did some background check about the play, knows the actors, might talk with the director after the play

Jean: wants to look cool and educated but fails terribly, asks Armin later what the play was about, tells Sasha and Connie to be quiet

Sasha: sits on the back just to eat her snacks, if she sees something weird, she would whisper to Connie: "that's you", claps as the loudest

Connie: sits with Sasha and eat with her her snacks, he might pinch Sasha for her commentary

Hange: the loudest. I mean really...the loudest. Might take inspiration to write their (omegaverse) fanfiction. TAKES PHOTOS WITH THEIR FLASH LIGHT ON

Erwin: drops some facts about the play, wouldn't shut up until someone (Levi) tells him to, admires the props more than the actors, HE WOULD DEF. TALK WITH THE DIRECTOR

Levi: stoic expression but he's impressive about effects and stunts, very protective about the actors and the play in general, might punch Hange for the flash light.

Mike: THE BIGGEST SUPPORTER, passes out by the smell of the actors sweat after play, tries to maintain his expression but fangirls inside when the actors are kissing

Moblit: very quiet but babysits Hange all the time, no one knows that Moblit helps the director, cries a few times

Ymir: giggles with Christa and telling her that the figures are "them", daydreams about them to be the figures in the play

Christa: tells Ymir to shut up already because she doesn't want to get distracted, is overwhelmed about the role of the queen

Reiner: BIGGEST FANGIRL, HE SCREAMS EVERY TIME WHEN SOMETHING HAPPENS, PUSHES BERTHOLDT AROUND BECAUSE HES OVERWHELMED

Bertholdt: begs Annie to switch seats, relates to the figure who needs to play the tree, loves the plot twist

Annie: ignores Reiner and Bertholdt, admires the independent figure

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the hand nib is in fact pointing its index finger. Though considering the number of you that interpreted it otherwise, it would probably still be effective at offending your friends from across the table.

Personally, I like to think of it as a little wizard hand that draws at your command.

I finally took the time to photograph my vintage dip pen nib collection, and I need to share with you all how wonderful and diverse their designs are.

These two are my favorite. Just look at them! One of them is named Gorille and the other Mephisto, but to me they're little pumpkins.

And of course you gotta love the Pinocchio nib. You get to write with the nose of a tiny guy! Just not something you get to do anymore.
