手作りのスプーン

昨日に引き続き、今日もスプーン。

今日は手作りのスプーン。

普段、手作りすると言えば商品の補修に必要な部品が手に入らない時か、こんなもの欲しいんだけど とお客さんに頼まれた時くらい。

ただごくまれに、何かのきっかけで何かを作りたくなったりするのです。

スプーン作りのきっかけは、偶然目にした鍛冶職人さんの 「マタギ山刀　ナガサを造る」 という動画 。

ナガサとはマタギさんが使う狩猟刀、刀身と一体になった柄の部分は筒状になっていて、木の枝などを差し込むと薙刀みたいに槍みたいに使える実戦刃物なんですね。

刃物自体かっこいいのですが、その鍛造風景には魂を揺さぶられっぱなしでした。

その中の、鎚だけで平面から筒状の柄を作るシーン、テンテンテンと板を少しづつ湾曲させてゆき、端と端が合わさったところでテーンテーンテーンと丸く筒状にしていくんです。

これは忘れない内に何か作ってみなきゃ、筒を作ってもしょうがないし、刃物つながりでペーパーナイフ、は使わないし、そこでスプーン。

作ってしまってから、そういえばスプーンも使わないなと気付いたり。

筒の中が汚れそう、と使わないスプーンの使った後を心配をしたり。

でも作業自体はとてもおもしろかったので、

筒じゃないスプーンをいっぱい作ってみたりして。

筒は？筒作りは？、、、良いのです、筒づくりはその後の何かの作業に役立っているのです、たぶん。

こんないきさつのスプーン、お気に召しましたら一本￥３２００です。
