Brand Reveal: Jessica Livingston

After finding success for over 20 years working as a real estate agent across the greater Seattle area, the time came for Jessica Livingston to build a unified look to take her business to the next level. We are thrilled to have helped her in this chapter of her business journey.

While her previous tools and systems were a little miss-matched due to years of revisions, she knew she wanted to continue with the lovely purple-and-gray palette from her website and the minimal san-serif font used. Her overall goal was to establish a visual that was professional, casual, friendly, but polished – a great visual representation of what she already brought to the table in her established business.

We discussed a variety of logo options, and she shared her vision for a logo that mimicked the beautiful Cascade Mountains. With this hyper-local touch-stone, we brought in a hand-written style font for her name and a translucent marble texture for a touch of luxury without weighing down the design. A polished take on NW vibes!

Since she wanted to target the Mercer Island community, we wanted to make sure that she would stand out from the crowd, but also let the beautiful homes take center stage. That called for a minimal layout with lots of space for photos. With the foundations set, she has a beautiful brand to grow with and we are excited to see where she takes it.

i could be projecting cuz there's a reason i connect with the vast, but i feel like there's a lot of angst potential to simon fairchild.

the vast is, by nature, an uncaring god. it represents a universe in which you do not matter. and that can feel both comforting and terrifying at the same time.

we don't know simon's real name. he's probably forgotten it himself by now. it doesn't matter to him.

it's not as overtly tragic as something like the lonely. instead of isolation and depression, it presents as hedonism and recklessness. you feel free. you feel light and unburdened. but the reality of it is that you're losing yourself. you've stopped caring about yourself. you've stopped even considering yourself a real person, after all, in the grand scheme of things, you're nothing at all, and you're more than alright with that.

you figured out that what you do doesn't matter, and instead of letting go of that, you fixated on it. you're clinging to your own meaninglessness as a lifeline. if you don't matter, you can do what you want. finally. if you don't matter, you're free. finally.

and if you don't matter, your name doesn't matter. why not just take someone else's? and if you don't matter, your actions don't matter. why feel guilty about anything? you're free, isn't this what you wanted? doesn't it feel good to not matter?

the reality of the situation is that you no longer matter to yourself. and you don't want to matter to anyone else ever again.

Branding Spotlight: Vegas Born Real Estate Services

We are so pleased to present updated branding for Vegas Born Real Estate Services! Designated Broker and Owner, Crystal, came to us looking to take her already-established brand and logo up a notch. The Vegas Born logo already included a collection of instantly recognizable Vegas landmarks. Our goal was to take it up another notch with a little polish, providing additional interest with area-appropriate fonts and energy.

From the start, Crystal knew she wanted a gold-and-black color palette, so we needed to find the right textures to fit her vision. Charcoal stone with gold veining provided just the right amount of depth and interest to enhance the other brand elements.

We love how all the elements came together, but working with Crystal to bring her vision to life was our favorite part of her project. Her brokerage includes brokers who have a long background in Vegas – an important draw for local Las Vegas buyers and sellers. Like the Vegas Born tagline reads, “Where live happens off the Strip,” Crystal’s and her agents bring a deep level of knowledge that reaches far beyond just the Strip and into the community. With her experience of watching Las Vegas rise from the desert, her clients are lucky to have her!

RPF Services Edition Fic Rec: Peaches by @tahnawanda (uniformly on AO3)

Fandom: The Pacific Relationships and Characters: Robert Leckie/Wilbur "Runner" Conley

Heavy Artillery's Rolling Remix 2024 authors have finally been revealed and I can now properly credit this Good Good So Good™️ post-war fic that sent me on a Runner/Leckie spiral. Touches on the circular and nebulous grief in the safety of American shores after the war—the fixations turned coping mechanisms that come with it. Birth names don't sound foreign next to the one you picked up on an island whose name you could barely pronounce the first time you landed on its shore.

There's a knock on Runner's door and the person behind it looks a lot like war but feels much more like home. Absolutely loved this fic.

Art featured is a mock up I based off of Armed Services Editions. I used elements from the original book cover for The Big Rock Candy Mountain by Wallace Stegner, fonts from the time period, and detail Libby's Peaches and Cream ad from April 1922.
