Why do my brakes still squeaky even after I have new brake pads and discs?
If there is a squealing noise during braking, it is generally not a problem, and the braking performance is not affected. The noise is mainly caused by friction between the brake pads and the brake discs, which is related to the materials used in the brake pads.
In some brake pads, there may be larger particles of metal wire or other hard materials. When the brake pads wear down to these substances, they can create noise when in contact with the brake discs. Once they are worn past these particles, the noise will disappear, so it is considered normal. It does not affect safety, but the noise can be annoying. If you cannot tolerate such braking noise, you can consider replacing the brake pads with higher-quality ones to solve this problem.
Possible causes of abnormal noise in brake pads include: excessively hard brake pads, brake pads worn down to their solid frames, excessive wear on the brake discs or brake hubs, rust on the brake caliper piston, ineffective handbrake cables, slow return of the brake master cylinder piston, etc.
If it is a new set of brake pads, it is necessary to check if any foreign objects have been trapped between the brake disc and the pads. If there is a muffled noise, it is often related to issues with the brake caliper, such as worn-out guide pins or detached retaining springs. If there is a continuous squealing noise, there may be multiple problems with the caliper, brake disc, or brake pads.
If the noise persists, first check for dragging brakes. Poor caliper retraction can cause prolonged friction between the disc and the pads, resulting in abnormal noise under certain conditions. Also, check if any foreign objects are wedged between the pads and discs. If it is a new set of pads, examine the brake disc for grooves because localized friction can lead to noise. If there are no issues with the disc, consider whether the brake pads are too hard or if there was an incorrect installation of noise reduction shims.
It is important to note that any abnormal noise during braking should be inspected and diagnosed by a professional to ensure the safety and proper functioning of the braking system.

Impact of Friction Materials on Brake Durability - BBL Brakes
The durability of your vehicle’s brake system is largely determined by the brake parts used, particularly the friction materials that form the essential contact surfaces. These materials play a pivotal role in ensuring that the vehicle stops safely and efficiently, but they also influence the overall lifespan of the braking components. In this blog, we’ll explore the impact of friction materials on brake durability and the importance of choosing the right materials for your vehicle's braking system.
Tumblr media
Understanding Friction Materials in Brake Parts
Friction materials are the substances used in the brake pads or shoes that come into contact with the brake rotor or drum. These materials are specifically engineered to provide the necessary friction to decelerate the vehicle. They are made from a variety of compositions, including organic, metallic, and ceramic compounds, each offering distinct benefits in terms of braking efficiency, heat resistance, and wear characteristics.
The primary function of friction materials is to convert kinetic energy into heat, which is dissipated during braking. The effectiveness and longevity of these materials significantly affect the performance and durability of the entire braking system, particularly the brake parts like pads, rotors, and calipers.
The Impact of Friction Materials on Brake Wear
One of the most critical ways friction materials influence brake durability is through wear. When the brake pad presses against the rotor, friction generates heat and causes wear on both the pad and rotor surfaces. The type of friction materials used determines how quickly this wear occurs.
Soft friction materials, like organic compounds, tend to wear down faster, requiring more frequent replacements of brake parts. In contrast, metallic and ceramic materials offer superior wear resistance, leading to longer-lasting pads and rotors. However, these materials may come at a higher cost, but their durability often outweighs the initial investment in terms of reduced maintenance and extended brake life.
Heat Management and Its Effect on Brake Durability
During braking, friction materials generate significant heat, and their ability to manage this heat directly impacts brake performance. If the heat isn’t efficiently dissipated, it can lead to issues like brake fade, which occurs when the braking surface becomes too hot to maintain effective friction. Overheating can also cause brake parts like rotors to warp or crack, reducing their overall lifespan.
Ceramic friction materials, for example, are known for their excellent heat dissipation properties, making them ideal for high-performance vehicles or heavy-duty use. The better a material can handle heat, the less likely it is to cause damage to other brake parts, ensuring the system remains effective and durable over time.
Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) – Friction Materials and Brake Comfort
While the primary function of friction materials is to stop the vehicle, their influence extends beyond performance. Friction materials also play a significant role in the noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) levels of the braking system. Materials that are too soft or poorly engineered can create excessive noise and vibrations during braking, which can be distracting and reduce the overall driving comfort.
Quality friction materials, such as those used in premium brake pads, are designed to minimize NVH issues. This not only improves comfort but also helps maintain the integrity of the brake parts, reducing the risk of premature wear or damage that could otherwise affect the brake system’s durability.
Conclusion: Optimizing Brake Durability Through Friction Materials
Choosing the right friction materials is crucial to ensuring the longevity and performance of your brake system. Whether you opt for organic, metallic, or ceramic materials, it’s important to consider how each type impacts wear, heat management, and overall brake comfort. By selecting high-quality friction materials, you can significantly improve the durability of your brake parts, reducing maintenance costs and enhancing safety.
At BBL Brakes, we understand the importance of durable and reliable braking systems, and we offer high-performance friction materials designed to keep your brakes working efficiently for longer.

You can't just buy ink ribbon for a type writer. The stores have ink ribbons for specific brands and their specific models. BUT when you take that 1.3 cm wide ink ribbon out of the box, you have an ink ribbon! I am going to switch it to my old type writer. I hate this place, even ink ribbons aren't just ink ribbons.

What happens to everyone else in the Leave Together Ending?
In the ending where the Princess and the protagonist are reduced to one stable form each and leave the cabin together, the Hero and the other voices stay behind.
I think the voices have to stay behind. If they go with the protagonist, then the protagonist is the Long Quiet. If they stay behind, the protagonist can be a person who stays with the Princess.
If I’m right, that means that not only will all the voices end up in the cabin, so will all the Princesses. If the Princess wants to stay as herself and leave with the protagonist in that ending, she can’t be the Shifting Mound. The rest of her has to go somewhere.
I hope the Voices get to have bodies and then find some sort of happy ending of their own. Preferably, hanging out with the Princesses.

Why Brake Parts and Friction Materials Matter for Safety
When it comes to vehicle safety, few things are more critical than the braking system. The performance of your vehicle’s brakes is directly linked to the quality of the brake parts and friction materials used. Without well-maintained and high-quality components, your ability to stop quickly and safely could be compromised, leading to dangerous situations on the road. Let’s explore why these elements matter for safety and how they work together to ensure your vehicle is ready to respond when you need it most.
Tumblr media
The Key Brake Parts That Ensure Vehicle Safety
A vehicle’s braking system is made up of several key components that all work in tandem to stop your car effectively. These include brake parts such as:
Brake Pads: These are the most vital component for stopping power. They press against the rotors, creating the necessary friction to slow the vehicle down.
Rotors: Attached to the wheels, these metal discs work with the brake pads to stop the vehicle by converting kinetic energy into heat.
Calipers: These clamp the brake pads onto the rotors to create friction and slow the car.
Brake Lines and Master Cylinder: These parts ensure that brake fluid is properly distributed to each part of the braking system.
Each of these brake parts plays a crucial role in ensuring that your vehicle can stop when needed. Any malfunction or degradation in these components could affect your ability to brake effectively, increasing the risk of an accident.
Friction Materials: The Heart of Braking Efficiency
At the core of effective braking lies the concept of friction materials. These materials are responsible for creating the necessary friction between the brake pads and the rotors to bring the vehicle to a stop. There are different types of friction materials used in brake pads, including:
Organic Friction Materials: Made from a blend of materials like rubber, carbon, and Kevlar, these are often quieter and gentler on the rotor.
Metallic Friction Materials: Composed of metal shavings, these friction materials are more durable and perform better at higher temperatures.
Ceramic Friction Materials: A high-performance option that offers both durability and quiet operation, commonly found in premium vehicles.
The choice of friction materials is essential for both the performance and safety of your brakes. High-quality materials ensure that the brake system can handle various driving conditions and stop your car quickly and safely.
How Brake Parts and Friction Materials Work Together for Maximum Safety
For your vehicle’s brakes to function at their best, brake parts and friction materials must work together seamlessly. The friction materials in the brake pads generate the necessary resistance against the rotors to slow down the vehicle. When these materials are paired with well-maintained brake parts, such as rotors and calipers, the braking system functions smoothly and efficiently.
However, if either the brake parts or friction materials become worn or damaged, the entire braking system could be compromised. Worn-out pads may not create enough friction, while damaged rotors may fail to distribute heat properly, leading to longer stopping distances and reduced safety.
The Impact of Poor-Quality Brake Parts on Safety
Using poor-quality brake parts can have serious consequences for your vehicle’s braking performance. Low-quality friction materials can wear out quickly, reducing their effectiveness and causing the brakes to become less responsive. Additionally, subpar brake parts like warped rotors or faulty calipers can lead to uneven braking, increasing the risk of accidents.
For reliable safety, it’s essential to invest in high-quality brake parts and friction materials from trusted manufacturers. At BBL Brakes, we understand the importance of top-notch braking components, ensuring your vehicle is equipped for the best performance and safety.
How Proper Brake Maintenance Contributes to Long-Term Safety
Regular maintenance of your vehicle’s brake parts and friction materials is essential for long-term safety. Routine checks and timely replacements help prevent the wear and tear that can lead to brake failure. Always pay attention to signs of wear, such as squealing, grinding, or reduced braking power, as these could indicate that it’s time to replace your brake pads or inspect other brake parts.
Conclusion: Prioritizing Brake Parts and Friction Materials for Safety
In conclusion, ensuring that your vehicle is equipped with high-quality brake parts and friction materials is vital for both your safety and the safety of others on the road. These components work together to deliver reliable braking performance, and their maintenance is key to preventing accidents. Always choose trusted brands and maintain your brakes regularly to ensure that your vehicle’s braking system is functioning at its best.
