“am i a bad person?” 

the question makes shigaraki look up from his switch. you crawl over to take a seat beside him, leaning over to rest your head against his shoulder. 

“what?”

“am i a bad person?” you mumble, eyes wandering shigaraki’s animal crossing island, clearly avoiding eye contact. 

shigaraki sighs softly and shakes his head, putting the console aside to wrap his arms around you. you clutch onto him like a child to a stuffed animal, face squished into his shoulder. 

“no,” he murmurs. “you’re not a bad person.” laughing quietly, he adds, “i’m a bad person. but not you. you’re…different.”

“different how?”

why do you ask so many questions? it was always the same deal. shigaraki always wondered what the hell kind of thought process brought you to not only have these thoughts but to voice them. 

“you’re just different. you…you care about things.”

“like what?”

“fuck, baby, i don’t know!” shigaraki huffs, a whine making its way into his voice. he can feel you smile a little into his hoodie. 

“do you care about things?”

“no.”

“do you care about me?”

shigaraki heaves an exaggerated sigh, pretending to think about it. “a little.”

“do you like me more than dabi?”

“i like anyone more than that shit-head.”

“more than twice?”

“sure.”

“mmm, more than…himiko?”

shigaraki smiles mischievously. “no.”

your nimble fingers worm their way under his hoodie and pinch him between the ribs. he hisses at the sharp contact. 

“you’re fake,” you grumble, nuzzling your head further into his shoulder. 

shigaraki laughs quietly. 

you lapse into comfortable silence, shigaraki’s index fingers lazily tracing patterns on your thighs. 

“i like you better than toga. i like you better than any of ‘em. you’re my favorite, ‘kay?”

you smile at his quiet words. 

“okay.”

I was watching Chapter 15: The Believer yesterday and something stood out to me that I guess I'd never really thought about before...

When the Juggernaut is getting attacked by the Pirates, we see several shots of Din struggling without his armour. It's a new way of fighting for him and he struggles to adapt at first.

He quickly rallies and skilfully fights them off, though. But more pirates soon appear and after fighting them off, Din is thrown backwards. He sees several pirates approaching.

Din lies down in defeat, powerless to fight them off without his armour or weapons. Knowing his death is likely imminent, without hope of survival.

Instead of giving up and accepting defeat, he does not allow himself to wallow in despair and mystery. After sighing deeply he steadies himself and gets right back up:

Facing down death as the pirates approach, he does not show weakness or fear.

He doesn't allow himself to be cowardly, or dwell on his likely impending doom and the fact he has failed in his quest to rescue the child he loves so much...

Instead, Din stands there with his fists up, outnumbered and without weapons, prepared to fight to the end even in the face of certain death...

Fortunately, of course, the TIE Fighters appear to save the day and Din succeeds in his quest to rescue Grogu and, well, you know the rest.

But I think this little moment in one of the best episodes is such a good insight into his character.

Standing up with his fists clenched like that, outnumbered and hopeless but refusing to accept defeat is perhaps one of the most Mandalorian things he's ever done. Yet only a few minutes later he removes his helmet and that act leaves him rendered an apostate in the eyes of his people. Told he is a Mandalorian no more, even.

It's kind of heartbreaking because he really did not deserve to be told that. Mandalorians are proud warriors, who never give up. Being a coward is the worst insult in Mando'a, their ancient language. Here, Din showed that he is nothing of the sort.

Din Djarin is as honourable a Mandalorian as they come.

Thinking about the end of the Co09 pilot where Nicole asks Jecka if "this is the last 30 min of a romcom where I have to fix everything"

Why yes Nicole, it is. And it'd be even funnier if Nicole did some grand gesture to win Jecka back but it doesn't work, but it's not after she kills a man for her that Jecka is like, "okay, we're besties again :)" asdfkjashd

BACK ON MY SPIDEYPOOL BRAINROT IDEAS with a FUSION! Deadringer's the combo of Spider-Man and Deadpool, with my design notes and thoughts are scribbled above! I'll write some below anyways. If you see a spelling error, no you didn't, okay?

Deadringer's name comes from the fact that both DP's and Spidey's costumes are somehow both incredibly distinct and similar enough I feel like it wouldn't be hard for civilians to confuse one for the other, making it all the more confusing if they actually fused! Also "dead" like "Deadpool". Yes, I am very clever thank you.

Their civilian name is "West Walker", keeping the alliteration of both their halves, plus Walker rhythms with Parker. Keeping the w's meant leaning into how Peter's full name is pronounced with the -er for the last name, and choosing something with e's rather than a's for the first.

Spidey Sense and Deadpool's Boxes/Fourth Wall Breaking combine into a basically a personified soundtrack only DR can hear! Non-digetic sounds play as warnings (ex. horror movie soundtrack if something's about to happen) but it has a mean personality and will play overlapping laugh tracks to make fun of him. It's incredibly overwhelming.

With Spidey's strength and unique web slinging, and Deadpool's use of classic weaponry, DR uses artificially, self made whips to swing around using his own body strength.

and thinking about the difference between bill and fiddleford when it comes to fords hands and fords 'genius'

bill makes fords polydactyly a focal point, something impossible to ignore. he tells ford that he'll fit right in with bills band of "freaks" all because his hands are a little different than other humans. he never lets him forget it, even if he says it as something to be proud of, but he and everyone else knows that ford kinda never stopped holding onto the insecurity that was associated with this trait. bill also never let ford forget his smarts, he played into the what ford always wanted to hear about his smarts, but fords brain was only ever a tool to bill. fords hands were (part of) a reason bill wanted to bring him along in his crew, and fords mind was simply a means to an end

and then we have fiddleford who, upon meeting ford for the first time, immediately saw ford as this genius who cared about what he had to say and they connected over their shared love for all that nerd stuff, and it was something that was important to them both and brought them together, and kept them together

and fiddleford says he didnt even notice, after hours and hours of sitting in a room with ford and them focused on eachother (and math)... he didnt even notice that fords hands were different until afterward, when he was looking at a photo of them both. this thing ford had been forced to worry about his whole life, and it wasnt even a thing to fiddleford.

ford wanted to be known, to be loved, for his brain and what he could do. and, in my opinion, it sometimes feels like he almost wanted to make up for the fact he was different, to prove he wasnt 'less than' because of some difference he was born with, this thing that everyone made such a big deal out of

and between the two biggest people in his life (aside from his brother of course lmao), one focused on and made a big deal out of his difference, and the other didnt even notice it. one saw his genius as a tool, and the other saw it as something amazing and admirable.

hell, if the bit of their conversation in the book of bill when they meet is, well, when they meet and is their first words to eachother... the first name or nickname that bill calls ford is, of course, sixer. and one of the first things fiddleford calls ford... is friend.

and i just feel like it says a lot about those two relationships and him.
