expanding on this, like. if phil had said that and it WASN'T a freudian slip about the current status of their own relationship, or something they've been actively talking about working towards, dan would have totally reacted to phil's choice of word there. because fiancé is SO randomly specific. i can just imagine dan going like "fiancé? what, are you planning on tying the knot soon? really living out your 100k slowburn nordvpn fanfic right now phil" etc etc. dan wouldn't let something so weird and specific go. unless the word "fiancé" has become so commonplace in the household from constant discussion that it didn't even ping on his radar as out of the ordinary...........

thinking abt like. vessel forcing you to look at him while he's on his knees in front of you, wanting you to see how hungry he is for you, forcing you to watch the meticulous movements of his tongue against you, knowing the layout of your body so well he doesn't even need to look anymore, he can feel his way around just fine. whenever you try to close your eyes in pleasure or look away from his intense gaze, he pulls completely away, stopping immediately.

your eyes are screwed shut, needy whimpers escaping your lips, overwhelmed by the sensation nearly to the point of tears, when you hear it.

that agonizing tut coming from his mouth as he clicks his tongue to draw your attention back to him. the sound alone was almost enough to send you over the edge. there was something so condescending about those tongue clicks, the sound reminding you of training a dog.

"I said. look at me."

the man wanted to watch the soul leave your body as you came, knowing he could get you there. your misty eyes told him that you knew he could as well. but only if you behave yourself.

Really loving this series so far!

Been a long time since I thought a "cool protagonist" was actually cool. Love how important their blue eyes are to their character and plot. A bit of Japanese history that I don't see often talked about.

I enjoy all the characters; dialogue is both witty and heartfelt. Animation is S-tier with great fight choreography. The lone samurai seaking revenge trope as existed as long as samurai have existed but the anime brings more to the table and its refreshing instead of the same ol' stale sake given to prostitutes.

I went through your entire soulmate tag since it was brought it up and IT GOT ME THINKING ☝️ These two have such expectations for their soulmate, right?Homelander believes it’s not in the cards for him and she believes it’ll be someone she’s on the side of, right? So! It’s kinda like their raw beings are attached, not the parts of them that were influenced. She’s not the soulmate of some experiment, no, she’s the soulmate to the man underneath it all. IT’S SO RAW AHHHHH knowing they’ve been a part of one another at every stage of their lives, even at their worst (which is shocking considering what that man’s best is considered 😭)

yes YESSS you've dug down into the core of the reason i like soulmate AU's for homelander. the tragedy of who they could have been to one another without all the bullshit he's been choked by. being shocked by the revelation of his own humanity when it's revealed that yes, of COURSE he still has a soul! of course he's still just a man beneath it all! and yes, whatever his soul is made of, there's someone out there whose soul is just the same.

he's not a product, he's not a god, he's not a monster. he's just a scared boy that grew into a man who was never taught to be one.

for the reader in this story, i want to set up her motivation for joining the boys/going after Homelander to be that she was deeply in love with someone who died as nothing more than collateral damage to Homelander's general carelessness. soulmate au's are fucked up when you sit down to think about the greater implications for interpersonal relationships. imagine loving someone with your whole heart and knowing they love you, too, but they won't be with you in any meaningful way because the universe hasn't fated you to be together. i wanna dig into that complex. the resentment and the fear it would foster. have her be sooo hung up on this person who is gone, who was never going to choose her over the possibility of a "perfect" partner.

only to be horrified by the realization that the person who took them away is her person.

honestly I've spent all week thinking about potential Wild Cards for this season... I feel like everyone getting auto-equipped elytra and rockets for a session would be fun (they can fly but less armor protection) or flooding the map and giving everyone waterbreathing... so many cool options to think about!!!

I've started drawing the Sonic characters with a lot more 90s/70s???? flair and it's healing a hole in my brain that I didn't even know was there - so be prepared to see a lot more Sonic characters looking like they stepped out of the X Files....or Sailor Moon....Or Nightstalker and Columbo.
