i have a few questions about your hair routine!
i've already started using the silk cap but im curious about what kind/brand of clay you use to wash your hair and what oils you use if you dont mind sharing :)
also the apple cider vinegar, do you use that in the shower too ??
i've noticed a big difference just from using natural shampoo/condotioner/dry shampoo but if i can do more to help my hair i would love to know !
Thanks !!!
Sure!
So all stuff was bought from Amazon, thereā€™s also natural food stores or apothecaries that sell this stuff too. If you buy bulk and only wash your hair once a week, your stuff will last for months (I bought a pound of clay at the beginning of January, itā€™s still going strong even now) youā€™ll save a lot of money in the long run. Keep in mind, this is just *my* routine, some people have way more complicated ones, some have simpler ones, everyoneā€™s hair is different. I have very fine, slightly wavy hair thatā€™s just past shoulder length, you might have longer/thicker/curlier hair that needs more product than I use.
So my week looks like this:
Friday ā€” I take one eighth cup of Aromine rassouhl clay, put it in a glass measuring cup (this cup has a handle and measures two cups total) and fill the rest of this with water. You want your clay mixture to be VERY watery, not thick and mud-like like a face mask (which you can absolutely use this clay for, too! It makes your skin super soft). I put this on my scalp, you can do this with a plastic squeeze bottle or just dump about half of it on, work it through your scalp, and take the length of you hair and dip it into the measuring cup and let it sit for a sec. Dump the rest of the mixture over your head and work the clay all through your hair. Wash out. Put your conditioner of choice in the length of your hair. Iā€™m using Avalon Organics right now, but Iā€™m going to explore other options once this bottle is empty and see if I can find something with less additives, or maybe look into making my own. If Iā€™m short on time, I let conditioner sit for only a minute. If I have time, I like to let it sit for ten. I take VERY short showers unless itā€™s hair wash day, usually. While Iā€™m sitting with conditioner in Iā€™ll shave my legs (if itā€™s spring or summer, if itā€™s fall or winter we Sasquatchmaxxing in this bitch). Wash conditioner out. I then take my glass measuring cup again, pour about a cup of Braggs apple cider vinegar, and fill the rest with water. I then dip the length of my hair in the cup, sit for a minute, then dump the rest over my head. Make sure to shut your eyes TIGHT when you do this, ACV stings (yeowch!). Work the ACV through your scalp. Again, if I have time, Iā€™ll sit for a sec with it in my hair. Rinse out. When Iā€™m out of the shower, I take a very small amount of sweet almond oil and put it in the tips of my hair. I use Now Organics, and Iā€™ve actually found that I like almond oil much better on my skin as a moisturizer than coconut oil, itā€™s much lighter and I think coconut was making me break out. Sleep in your silk cap.
Saturday through Wednesday ā€” Brush with a hog bristle brush at night, sleep in your silk cap.
Thursday night ā€” I put almond oil in the length of my hair (donā€™t put it in your scalp! Itā€™ll be hard to get out).
So thatā€™s my routine in a nutshell. Youā€™ll notice that pretty much all the products I use have multiple uses; clay can be used for skincare, I use ACV in the kitchen all the time, almond oil is also great for skincare. There are tons of YouTubers out there that have other adviceā€”there are bougie, expensive blow dryers that only blow cold /lukewarm air so as to not damage your hair when you dry it, some people recommend taking sulfur as a supplement, some people do weekly hair masks, and thereā€™s TONS of tutorials out there on protective hair styles, to keep your hair off your back and shoulders (and consequently from rubbing on your clothes and skin and contributing to split ends) Iā€™m going to start implementing some of these now that my hair is long enough, but Iā€™m terrible at doing my own hair so this will be a steep learning curve for me.
The point behind ā€œnaturalā€ hair care is that youā€™re trying to mimic, to the best of your abilities, the type of hair care that people implemented before the advent of store bought shampoos and conditioners. And there are so many various different types of hair care one can find from various different time periods and geographic locations but as a general rule:
-People used what they had access to based on where they lived.
-People covered their hair for reasons other than religious ones; if you worked out in the fields or had a gaggle of kids to take care of while you did your household chores, waist length hair got in the way. Women put their hair up and covered it to prevent exposure to dirt, dust, wind, and sunlight, both women and men often wore scarves/kerchiefs/nightcaps to bed (particularly in colder climates), both men and women wore hats when they went outside, and, most importantlyā€”people just didnā€™t wash their hair nearly as often as the modern person does. All the historical ladies in pictures and paintings had long hair because of this (and because short hair, in the Western world, just didnā€™t really come into fashion until fairly recently).
Final thoughtsā€”
ā€” You might go through a ā€œadjustment periodā€ where your hair gets really greasy, particularly if youā€™re someone who washes their hair often or someone who uses sulfate heavy shampoos. You might want to slowly extend time between washes and alternate clay/ACV washes with shampoo ones.
ā€” Most biotin and collagen supplements are a waste of money. Get your collagen through your diet.
ā€”Katharine Sewing on YouTube is where I got my current hair routine; she has some excellent hair care videos, highly highly recommend.
ā€” If you have finer hair, Iā€™d suggest almond or jojoba oil, if your hair is thick, you might want to try coconut oil or even shea butter (and all of these are fantastic on skin, too, and much better than any lotion you can buy at a store)
ā€”I had something else but I forgot

Homemade weight loss drinks recipes
Apple Cider Vinegar Detox Recipe for Weight Loss
Ingredients:-
Water.Ā Use a natural spring or filtered water.
Raw organic apple cider vinegar with mother.Ā Be sure to get apple cider vinegar with mother. I like to use Braggs ACV.
Lemon juice.Ā We use fresh squeezed lemon juice for this recipe. Donā€™t use the bottled stuff.
Ground turmeric.Ā Turmeric doesnā€™t dissolve well, so youā€™ll want to stir the drink a few times as you sip on it.
Raw honey.Ā Adds a little sweetness as well as nutritional benefits to this drink.
Black pepper.Ā Just a pinch will help our body to assimilate the turmeric better.
Cinnamon sticks.Ā These are optional, but adds a nice flavor to the drink.

I would love to eat fried chicken tenders right now and fried fish with tartar sauce and steak cut fries but Iā€™d simply die if I did right now. Iā€™m drooling but no Iā€™d die if I did right now.
Vegan organic meal of the day:
Tumblr media
That tofu stuffed as fuck organic garbonzo bean vegan delight chilli amino acid Braggs sweet vinaigrette with no garlic here but it has apple cider in its base. I topped it with yes yes yes organic curry powder. The tofu with a bit of organic peanut butter in it among other seasonings like organic vegan bouillon and nutritional yeast was excellent. The garbonzo layer underneath added the perfect the most perfect texture. Not for inspo. Some people might need steak no lie. I donā€™t want my meal to be anyoneā€™s last meal in case it would be.
I ate this for my skin health and eye health. I ate the entire thing. It was my only meal today among a handful of blueberries and organic acai prebiotic and probiotic juice.
When you get into the health food vegan Dandelion cafe spirit this shit is so good. Even though this is my original recipe. I boil my sweet potato in vinegar and sea salt just a splash and a few pinches in filtered water. Not sink water.

was thinkin abt doin an updated skincare list..
my skin type: oily, mature, textured and sensitive / allergic. use to be very acne prone when i was younger but found out it was allergic or dermatitis from using products that werent compatible w my skin. im not someone who is always trying new stuff, when i find something that works i stick with it.
preferred water type: warm and soft/filtered
face wash: my OG HG cetaphil (the reg 1) even off brands of this seem to be good, the rexall one especially.
moisturizer: my OG HG is lush dream cream (this is advertised as a body cream, but i use it on my face) it is so hydrating and smells nice never disagrees with my skin. i have also been using lush celestial since the air is colder and my skin is dry, but only on the dry parts of my face... mouth area, between my brows, my crows feet and corners of nose, chin.
exfoliator: i just dont use these they are too hard on my skin, i used to dermaplane but as i get older i find peach fuzz to be a natural filter lol it just softens the lines on my face šŸ¤· as well my toner eats the dead skin off good enough imo.
serums: my OG HG is the ordinary niacinamide + zinc. i also enjoy the hyaluronic acid, matrixyl, and multipeptide serum as well as the mandelic acid. for awhile i was into the ole henriksen vitamin c serum but havent veen using vit c lately as my hyper pigmentation is mostly gone.
oils: MY OG HG is the ordinary sea buck thorn fruit oil. this basically healed my skin barrier completely and is an amazing product. i dont use it too much anymore as it did its job. now i use the lush full of grace naked skin oil bar and it is really nice, made with mushrooms n keeps my skin free or dry flaky patches.
toner: paula's choice salicylic acid glow toner, this is amazing!!! but i can only use it 1-2 times a week as my skin is very sensitive. and food grade rose water in 1 parts to water as a mist/spray.
face mask: my OG HG is the aztec secret indian healing clay mask mixed with braggs apple cider vinegar. i use this once a week- 2 weeks depending on how much/heavy my makeup has been. as well the Lush " beauty sleep" mask is a nice treat when i remember to get it.
deodorant: lush aromaco natural bar, this oddly enough had helped my skin breathe and be clear....anytime i use a commercial deodorant i get rashes on my face? idk but this has the best smell n i got ambrose hooked on it too lol.
lip balm: used to love the bite beauty lip mask but its hard to find now.... a lot of chapsticks really irritate the corners of my mouth :( but this knock off burts bees *beehive burst* is my favorite right atm, so creamy no irritation and really nice flavor/smell (using vanilla) otherwise my OG blistex DCT medicated (in the beige pot) is the best by far esp in winter. if u apply it on ur nose with a cold ur skin wont chap from blowing lol!
also: the biggest things i have noticed that have done my skin wonders have been * quitting smoking. * drinking water * taking allergy pills *using a humidifier gettin 8 hrs of sleep *using spf (after finally finding 1 that agreed with my skin. ) i am almost 40 so my skin is still changing and i plan on staying au natural (no filler or surgical enhancing) so no matter what i will age, the goal is to do it gracefully.

Hi fellow menopausal (and peri menopausal) women! **Go on TikTok for entire video** This is a follow up from my post back in August. For those of you who are new followers or donā€™t follow me religiously (and why donā€™t you? šŸ˜) I posted what Iā€™d been taking to naturally eliminate or at least, mitigate the symptoms of perimenopause/menopause. Just as that wasnā€™t an ad, nor is this one. I researched paid/pay and use all these products (and some I no longer use due to ineffectiveness). Keep in mind, every womanā€™s body is different but this is what has been working for me. The following products helped me with bloating, weight gain, water retention, mood swings, joint pains, vaginal dryness, skin flair ups, anxiety and some relief from hot flashes: @thehappymammoth MenoDaily and Hormone Harmony (3/day) @betterbodyco Provitalize probiotic (2/day), Previtalize (2/day) probiotic and @herjuicebar Wet Martini (1/day). I take all of these supplements with 2 tablespoons of @bragg Honey Cayenne apple cider vinegar in 8oz of ice cold water.
Sidebar: All of the vitamins/herbs in both MenoDaily and Hormone Harmony supplement(s) can be purchased separately (and perhaps cheaper). However, Iā€™ve always been the Nordstrom in lieu of the Nordstromā€™s Rack girl for convenience. IYKYK. But if youā€™re the latter, go off purchase and take your own sis! šŸ˜
