Thrilling Action Starts With HERO — Chapter 5

Sage: [I see…… Yes, I still think those two didn’t play up to their potential]
[Akira has been working with Oscar to hone his body techniques and training his muscles, so I’m sure he’s fast and powerful]
[Gray's movement has been getting better with each LOM. He seems to be good at reading his opponent's moves, so Jude must be a hard opponent to fight……]
[So, I think for whatever reason, he wasn't able to perform at his usual level]
Jude: I see. That´s great, Sage. I was right in calling you.
Sage: [I've known Akira since the academy, and I never miss the LOM of the training team]
Jude: So, what should I do to make them show their ability?
Sage: [Umm, sorry…… I’ve never done that before……]
[Why don’t you ask their mentors?]
[Akira’s mentors are Brad and Oscar. Gray’s mentors are Jay and Asch]
Jude: …………
Bianchi: You know who is he talking about, right?
Jude: Yeah, I know…… I know Brad and Jay barely.
Bianchi: Haa……
Sage: [Brad and Jay should be at a meeting right now. I just saw them go into the briefing room]
Jude: Well, I guess I’ll just wait util the meeting is over and then I’ll head over to them.
Thank you, Sage. You’re a good and useful guy.
Sage: [Ahaha, thank you. I’m glad to hear that from you]
Jude: Well then, I'll let you know if I hear anything else from Bianchi.
Sage: [Yes, see ya]
Jude: Well, I'll be right back, Bianchi. Please look forward to the results
Bianchi: Yes, yes. Don’t bother Brad and the others.
Jude: Of course.
Bianchi: Now that the troublesome thing is gone ♪ Lets work~
**********************
Jay: I feel like I’m going to lose weight after all the meetings.
Oh, we haven’t sparred in a while, right, Brad?
Brad: I appreciate the offer, but I have another meeting coming up.
Jay: So, what about after the meeting?
Brad: I have other tasks to do.
Jay: I see. Then, I’ll bring some Shaking Donuts to drop off ♪ Wouldn’t you at least let me have a snack time with you?
Brad: ……okay. Let’s take a moment.
Jay: Well, I’ll prepare a lot of delicious doughnuts.
Jude: Hey.
Brad: Huh? Jude Ares……
Jay: What’s the matter? Are you inviting me to a spar?
Jude: No, I’m here for something more important than that.
Jay: Oh…… what happened?
Jude: Tell me about your mentees.
Jay: Mentees?
Brad: ……did something happen regarding the request from Olga?
Jude: Yes. I've been sparring with the rookies. They're moving too slow for me.
I thought they were just weak, but apparently, they are not doing their best.
So, I came here to ask you mentors, how they can show their strength.
Brad: I see, I understand the situation.
Jay: I appreciate you coming to me for advice about our rookie. All right, I'll answer any questions you have.
Brad: Akira was called in to be a motion actor, and also Gray from East, right?
Jude: Yes, I think those are their names.
Brad: Akira is easy.
Perhaps when they hear the name "motion actor," all they think about is standing out, and their movements are big.
In such case, it is appropriate to encourage, not flatter.
Jude: Will it work better if I stir up?
Brad: It should be somewhat better. Now all we have to do is teach them by showing them the difference in power in a fight, and they will begin to respond calmly.
Once the engine is running, it will perform as expected.
Jude: After the agitation, you can show the difference between the two, understood.
Brad: How about Gray, Jay?
Jay: Well, Gray must be nervous. So, I want you to loosen it up.
Jude: Relax? How?
Jay: Usually, Billy tells a joke or two to make them laugh, but just listening to them should help them relax.
Fufu, Gray is amazing when he’s calmed down. He’s quick-thinking and responsive!
Jude: All I have to do is talk. Huh, that’s easy.
Jay: Please take good care of Gray.
Jude: Yes, it is a Bianchi request, so leave it to me.
Brad: ……I never thought that Jude Ares would be taking care of a rookie.

Mystic, CT
We pulled up to Mystic, CT around noon and just in time for Aunt Annette and Uncle Brad to get back from a bike ride with Brad’s first cousin Brad and his wife Pam who were also visiting. Pamela Anderson to be exact!! No, not the same Pam Anderson we’ve seen running down the beach in Bay Watch but she’s still pretty darn cool.
After introductions we all hung out ate some snacks and then headed on another bike ride around their little down of Noank. Uncle Brad showed us all the cool houses he worked on and gave us some history of the town! Their town is super quaint and slow but very relaxing. When we got home Uncle Brad took out a big paper bag with 3 HUGE lobsters in it as I chucked some corn. These lobsters were 6lbs and probably some of the largest lobster I have ever seen. That night we feasted on their deck over looking the water and Pearce properly tried lobster. Our lobster was even better paired with the mojito’s Pearce made with home grown mint. MMMMMMmmmmmm What an evening!

The next day we woke up and headed to the older steam cider mill in the United States. This mill is only open on certain months of the year, when the apples are in season, so we lucked out with our timing. We had fresh apple donuts, apple fritters, bought apple pie, and apple spider wine! It was another wonderful sign that Fall is around the corner, my favorite season! When we finished with our cider tour we went home to change up and prepare for our boat tour.

Aunt Annette and Uncle Brad have dreamed of buying a fancy boat to take overnight sailing trips and they finally found the one they’ve longed for. They got the boat in April and have been fixing it up for their month long journey back to Florida. Aunt Annette is learning to be the co-captain and Brad’s right hand woman so when we got to the boat she was in charge of practicing getting the lines on and off the boat for our little trip around the area. Our first stop was Ford’s where we ordered and ate another delicious meal on the boat. With full bellies we continued our tour around the area. Brad and Annette would share their knowledge about the boats and places we passed. It’s a whole different world there and I kind of love it!! When we got back from our boat tour we all grabbed a glass of wine and headed into the water. It was such a lovely evening to watch the colors change on the water! It was another perfect evening, we really lucked out!! And of course, we finished our incredible day with some homemade scallop linguine!! Ughhh! I think one of my favorite parts about visiting my Aunt and Uncle is that you eat sooooo well!

It was a fabulous stay at the Noank house with everyone. My aunt and uncle’s hospitality is unreal! We truly are so blessed to have such a welcoming and amazing family!

bon apetit test kitchen dghda au. HEAR ME OUT. THEY ALL WORK AT A COMPANY THAT AMBIGUOUSLY IS OR IS NOT BON APETIT TEST KITCHEN. or the one where todd is kinda claire-ish and dirk is brad-ish
todd brotzman is an ex punk front man who, after his band failed to get big, went to....culinary school. he started working at the ba test kitchen and producers loved his sarcasm and dry wit, and made him start hosting the webshow Gourmet Makes where he makes gourmet dishes out of college affordable ingredients and equipment. the show is a HIT. todd is funny, albeit in a self deprecating way, and people love watching him both fail (and fail, and fail, this is a test kitchen afterall, and one must test the food to come up with a good recipe) but they love watching him succeed. plus, the recipes he makes are DELICIOUS and plausible to make!!! he makes rice in a coffeemaker! makes gourmet dishes out of instant ramen noodles! he murmurs “i hate myself” when things go wrong! the internet LOVES HIM
dirk gently describes himself as a “holistic food detective” and hosts another web show on the ba test kitchen channel called It’s Connected! where he basically tracks down all the weird inexplicable connections of foods, dishes, ingredients, everything! this means he is often travelling to various locations and talking to lots of people, and the internet loves dirk because he is absolutely BIZARRE and HILARIOUS and everybody is CHARMED. he has a penchant for losing his train of thought and going into rambles about garlic (”i may not know much, mona, but i do know to crush my garlic to release the allicin”) and calling the camera (and thus the viewers) petnames like darling, dear, love. when dirk does actually have episodes in the ba test kitchen, something always goes wrong, but then his dishes are always miraculously delicious and perfect by the end. dirk didnt go to culinary school, he tells everybody the universe taught him how to cook. he is happy to expound on this, every time somebody asks, but nobody ever understands his answer about the fundamental interconnectedness of all foods and flavors
ANYWAY, dirk and todd often show up in each other’s shows, and theyre quite the entertaining duo. in todd’s show, todd always makes dirk grab things for him from high shelves and dirk teases todd about his height. whenever dirk is making a dish that calls for some delicate actions and not at all ridiculous flailing, dirk calls todd over for help and compliments him on how he’s doing the Entire Time. they are both extremely capable chefs who banter each and every time they are on camera together. they once had a joint episode where they made donuts and it took 3 episodes and 53 cumulative minutes for donuts to actually be made. the internet loved it.
also, dirk and todd are in love, but this is an au by me, so this is already a given. also also farah also works at the test kitchen and literally does chris morocco’s show concept; she recreates recipes from taste alone. i really love batk and dghda, guys.
yep
#dghda#dirk gentlys holistic detective agency#i just want to make it clear that i do not rpf i just love these two things and wanna put em together#hc

Stoup Brewing releases a collaboration Imperial Porter with Mexico City and two new "political" IPAs.
If you live in or around the greater Seattle area. It would seem appropriate, what with this week Halloween falling on a Thursday, that we remind you about some recent offering from Ballard-brewed Stoup Brewing Company.
Starting with their Imperial Porter, the gang got together with a brewery from Mexico City to produce a beer that will warm your body while inspiring dark thoughts.
Brewed with Cervecería Ícono and Cerveceria Morenos, Stoup Imperial Porter is described as a beer that is " packed with all of the malts that make a porter delicious." In addition to 'all the malts', Imperial Porter is brewed with Piloncillo, an unrefined cane sugar that is made from boiling and evaporating cane juice. With a flavor profile of between honey and molasses, Piloncillo is not only an homage to Stoup Brewing Company's guests but also provides local something different in their Imperial Porter. Finally, with experimentation on their minds, the brewers used HBC 472 which provides notes of vanilla and oak. At 8.9% ABV and 42 IBU, Imperial Importer is a reward for a night spent chaperoning or feeding trick-or-treating kids.
Backing up their Imperial Porter, the brewers escape from the fresh-hop craze into the welcoming arms of the Hazy IPA.
With the distinctive tagline, Stoup's Politonic IPA asks:
Politics got you down these days? Want a break from the constant stream of empty promises, chaotic debates, poor decisions and expensive yet disturbingly awful haircuts? Try our Politonic IPA..guaranteed to soothe your politics fatigue.
Brewed with wheat, flaked and malted oats before hop-bombed with Wakatu, Wiamea, Mosaic Cryo hops, this beer can inspire many conversations. But if the thought of escaping political discourse for an hour isn't enticing then this beer described as having "big pine, citrus, and a touch of floral flavors" will be wasted on you. Try one of these 6.9% ABV beers anyways and then ask yourself if you are tired of politics yet.
What do you get when you take a bunch of smart-alec brewers, who love current events? The answer is Quid Pro Quo IPA.
Brewed with Loral Cryo, Simcoe Cryo, HBC 692, and Comet hops; Stoup's provocative IPA is best summed up like this.
So a few weeks ago, the brewers at Stoup were on a phone call. Let me tell you, that phone call was absolutely perfect. It was beautiful. It went something like this.
B#1: "Make me a DIPA with fantastic amounts of Loral Cryo, Simcoe Cryo, HBC 692 and Comet hops and I'll bring you donuts".
B#2: "I'll do it, but didn't you already promise me those donuts a couple of months ago? And isn't this quid pro quo? Just curious."
B#1: "Great. This will be the best beer ever made thanks to me. And yes, this is quid pro quo. Obviously."
Cheers to honesty and a delicious new beer, friends! "
At 8% Alcohol By Volume and 69 IBU, Quid Pro Quo Double IPA asks the question. "Can a beer be both fun and political?".
Look for both Imperial Porter and Politonic IPA, available today, and Quid Pro Quor Double IPA making its appearance this Wednesday.
Stoup Brewing Company is located at 1108 NW 52nd Street in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood. For more information on Stoup Brewing Company, visit http://www.stoupbrewing.com.
About Stoup Brewing Company
"Two thirsty science nerds and a curious connoisseur walk in to a brew pub… Okay, so it wasn’t quite like that, but it might as well have been."
Stoup Brewing is a long held dream of Brad Benson and Lara Zahaba – two hopeless drink and chow hounds. That the two found each other twenty years ago seems fated – Brad, a scientist to the very last DNA strand, would proffer a hypothesis based on proximity and human nature, we’re sure (ahem). Whatever your take, the takeaway is this: Brad loves beer and has been a loyal student, courter, and crafter for years that number beyond his fingers and toes. Lara loves all things gastro – from a savory plate to a smart pour. The pair, professionally and recreationally, have spent the better part of their hours improving their palate’s quality of life. It was only a matter of time before they ponied up and joined the community of talented purveyors.
Enter, Robyn Schumacher – friend, teacher and self-professed beer geek graduated Cicerone. She had the same dream. Fitting that Robyn’s infatuation with beer bloomed under the tutelage of a Biology degree. Robyn’s regard for all things hop and malt only deepened while her teaching career flourished. Brewing in her spare time was the final hook. Call it what you will – the stars aligning, simultaneous fermentation – Stoup Brewing was born. We’re thrilled to be a part of Seattle’s burgeoning craft beer community in Ballard’s Brewing District.

I saw your post about Claire Saffitz and was curious because I didn't know who she was and now I'm completely in love with her! She's so cute! And I'm so gay!
She is precious and adorable and I love her! I mean, look at this cute little bean!!!! Look at her!!!
She’s a huge food nerd, and like, super smart, and determined, and sweet! Not enough people are obsessed with the Bon Appétit test kitchen crew, but they should be!
I mean, especially if you’re a BuzzFeed person (which I have become again for the first time since I was seventeen thanks to a few of the really good shows they’ve put out in the last few years)
Tasty/Worth It Lovers: Claire has a series where she tries to recreate prepackaged foods like Twinkies and Cheetos and it’s honestly fascinating and really entertaining all at once. Plus, if you’re a Ladylike enthusiast who likes watching women be cute and kickass in fields usually dominated by men (producing vs culinary arts) Claire and all the lovely BA ladies who feature in her videos to help guide her in her quest to recreate iconic snack foods rock!
For more traditional Tasty video fare, they have plenty of recipe videos done by several hosts, for delicious looking dishes like coconut cream pie, and tachin (a crispy saffron rice dish), and shrimp scampi.
And if you’ve grown a certain fondness for BuzzFeed’s chaotic neutral/trickster spirit/teenage-boy-at-midnight-on-six-energy-drinks-and-a-whole-box-of-Krispy-Kreme-donuts energy à la Try Guys and Buzzfeed Unsolved, look no further than one Brad Leone and his show It’s Alive!

He too is a precious bean – or would be if beans were, you know, six+ feet tall and had New Jersey accents thicker than well-made hollandaise. I have yet to encounter a foodstuff that Brad has not tried to culture, preserve, or otherwise ferment. From kimchi to kombucha to homemade ricotta, Brad does it all in his own hilarious, engaging, eccentric way.
(speaking of homemade ricotta, he actually collabs on that video with Andrew Rea from Binging with Babish, which is not a Bon Appétit affiliated channel, but is a phenomenal cooking channel in its own right, where Andrew recreates iconic foods from film and tv, and you should definitely check him out, too he gives off distinctly Andrew Ilnyckyj vibes in some ineffable way you will understand if you watch him I promise)
I’m sure this is all more detail than this ask truly warranted me to go into, but it deserves to be said nonetheless. I’ve been in love with the Bon Appétit test kitchen and crew for a few weeks now, and no one seems to share my passion, so I’m roping you all in!
