If I get multiple episodes for one show I’ll be running prelim polls to decide which episode(s) will make it into the main bracket.

Also I’m currently running another bracket so I’ll keep these submissions open for at least two weeks‚ we’ll see how it’s looking then.

Also‚ webseries count I do not care how short the episodes are. Miniseries count as well.

MARIO MUSIC SUBMISSION

hey, everyone. I love when people do bracket tournaments via Tumblr, so I'm gonna do one. At the bottom of this post is the Mario Music Submission form. When I get enough submissions, i'll make a bracket of the top 32 most submitted songs from ANYWHERE IN THE MARIO FRANCHISE!!! This is the Mario games, Donkey Kong games, Yoshi games, Wario games, the TV shows/movies, even fuckin' Captain Toad! My list comes from the list jan Misali used in their Super Mario survey, but I did go through and remove games that did not have original music (I might have messed up there... I'm not perfect! I don't know every single one of these games! My bad!)

You can submit AS MANY SONGS AS YOU WANT! I urge you to submit ANY SONG FROM THE MARIO FRANCHISE THAT YOU'D LIKE TO SEE HAVE A CHANCE TO WIN THE BRACKET TOURNAMENT! EVEN IF YOU JUST THINK IT WOULD BE FUNNY! I DON'T CARE!!

I can't begin to thank you all enough for the submissions! I've gotten a total of 127 submissions, the majority of which had amazing descriptions described why their favourite character should be entered into the competition!

I will be reading through all of the responses again now! I will be picking the characters that have been submitted the most. If there are still spaces after that, I have two ideas on what I am going to do:

I will read through the descriptions of each character, and the ones that have the best/funniest, in my opinion, will go through to the official bracket. In this case, the bracket will be announced today, 7:00 p.m. GMT.

If there is a case where there are two many good descriptions for me to choose from, I will set up a poll or two, and the top few will go through to the official bracket. In this case, the bracket will be announced tomorrow, 7:00 p.m. GMT. This one is probably less likely.

Rules and notes for submissions;

Absolutely no real people like youtubers, celebrities, etc. They will not be counted. Only fictional characters!

Characters must either be canonically a teenager, or heavily implied to be one. This refers to characters within the 13-17 age range, though I will take a limited amount of 18-19 year olds.

I will be picking characters based on who is submitted the most for the most part, though I may be biased towards fandoms I'm in, sorry.

Characters don't have to be human by any means!!! Go crazy!!

You can submit as many characters as you want, but for the love of god don't submit the same character more than once.

The bracket has 40 spaces!!

The official bracket will be announced on the 14th of February! May the best teenage dirtbag win!

ars poetica? polish short-form poetry in (english) translation tournament: submissions now open!

inspired by @polish-art-tournament, the poetry edition is finally here! sorry for the long wait; hopefully it will be worth it!

one poem per submission. submit here.

we ask you for the following details: (points with the asterix * mean that they are obligatory and without them the submission will not go through) : *the author. *title in english (translation), title in polish/minority language, *translator’s name, *full text in english, original text, source: (website, anthology, publication etc.), photo/screenshot., propaganda: (both for the poem and the translation of it).

the submissions will be open until OCTOBER 5th. we want to give you plenty of time to actually read and choose your favourites!

general rules:

the original language should be polish or a minority language – we do not necessarily subscribe to the official governmental list of minority languages; simply ask yourself about the heritage/connection of the author to poland; we also accept poems translated from polish that were written by authors who do not necessarily identify themselves as polish. etc. in short: we are flexible. we want to celebrate polish poetry and its translation in all its range and diversity. 

however, unfortunately, as we want to keep the tournament as accessible as possible, we accept only poetry translated into english; still, you are also welcome to additionally submit translations into other languages, if they exists and you want to share them (link them in the “other” rubric.)

we also accept self-authored translations, but they ought to be published somewhere outside of the tournament; by ‘published’ we also mean ‘posted’; so feel free to translate, post on tumblr (or other accessible social media) and send us the link.

your local library. there are more bilingual and english-language editions of polish poetry collections that you would expect. 

a rumour says that admins have a google drive with a collection of polish poetry books scraped from open sources… you can find out if it’s true by dm-ing @tsaricides.

Morally Questionable Anime Milfs Submission Form

No mommy's perfect.

Welcome to the morally questionable anime milfs competition, where we pit hot moms who have made controversial choices against one another.

Fictional characters only please.

The term ‘anime’ is used loosely for simplicity’s sake. Manga, visual novels, manhua, manhwa, donghua, etc. are also allowed. If you have a question about a specific character, just ask. Or go ahead and submit them anyway, and if I don’t feel they fit, I just won’t include them.

Y'all know what milf means. I don't think I need to explain that one. Do feel free to tell me about your milf's sexiest qualities though.

Not limited to biological mothers—as long as the character fills a maternal role, it's fine.

This is NOT the place to submit outright abusive mothers (towards children, at least). The mom must genuinely care about their kid(s)/charge(s) and be someone who is not intentionally malicious. I would say it is alright to submit a 'bad mom with good intentions' who is trying their best, but still messing up, or a character that is a very good mother, but who's moral ambiguity arises from reasons Beyond their parenting. Example being the 'villain who's an excellent parent' trope. Just explain your reasoning to me, and I'll use my own discretion if I feel the character crosses a line.

I have not yet decided the bracket size, and will do so once I see the final submission count.

Some level of horniness in the propaganda is expected, but I will urge you guys try and keep things at a PG-13 level. Here's everyone's advisory notice now: Don't follow this particular competition if this type of content makes you uncomfortable.

Poll propaganda can be submitted through the ask box, replied directly on poll posts, or made as separate posts and then tagged with the blog name. Just be sure to keep things civil.

Welcome to the Toxic Yuri Fight Club

The act of pitting unhinged, unhealthy yuri couples against each other is an act of yuri itself, let's see who comes out on top in doing so.

RULES:

Pairings don't need to be from a yuri series, but they do need to be yuri (so only wlw pairings).

No real life people, this includes cases where real people are playing themselves as characters like MCYT or vtubers.

No Ha//rry Po//tter.

No incest or pedophilia.

The amount of pairings on the bracket will depend on how many submissions we get, and each round will run for one week. The submission form will be open until September 30th!!

Still not sure if I want to let 2-part episodes compete as one, mostly bc sometimes it's not clear whether they ARE a 2-parter. Leaning towards combining the episodes though since that was the consensus!

Welcome to the Hibernation Tournament!

What is a "hibernation" character? For the purposes of this tournament, we will refer to characters who:

Have fallen into some state of deep sleep for an extended period of time.

The sleep can be induced from natural or magical reasons.

The sleep has to be continual (no characters who sleep for a little while and wake up and sleep for a little while. They need to be in a continual deep sleep for extended time. If they go into multiple deep sleeps, that's fine.)

"Extended period" will be defined as at least a year, so the character will have to been asleep for a year or more. (Rough guideline, I may bend it a bit.)

Character must stay alive or at least be in some sort of transitional state of life and death. No characters who have died and are later resurrected. That would be a resurrected character tournament.

Examples of characters that count: Sleeping Beauty (Grimms Fairytales), Link (Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time) (Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild), Flayn (Fire Emblem: Three Houses).

If you're not sure if a character qualifies, just send an ask and I'll be the judge :) If I'm not sure, then I will hold a prelim poll to see Tumblr's thoughts.

Some rules to consider as you submit:

Submissions will be open Thursday, June 27th to Thursday, July 3rd. I may close them early if I get an influx of submissions. Likewise, I may extend submissions for longer if I don't get enough.

My goal is to have enough characters to fill a 64-character bracket, but I would be willing to do as little as a 32-character bracket or as much as a 128-bracket.

Submit as many characters as you want, but do not submit the same character more than once. If I realize someone has done so, I will disqualify that character from counting.

No real people.

No OCs/fan characters/etc. It's not really fair to put someone's little guy versus, like, Disney.

I have the right to reject any submission if I do not feel comfortable with it.

WELCOME TO THE BEST FAIRY GODPARENT POLL!

Thank you for waiting patiently for the beginning of this tournament! Welcome to the next poll tournament I'll be hosting on this blog, the Best Fairy Godparent poll!

Criteria for characters to be accepted:

A character from a fairytale that is a fairy godparent or falls into that role (ex. the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella, the Good Fairies from Sleeping Beauty, the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio, etc.)

A character from a fairytale adaptation who is adapted from a fairy godparent character, even if it is a non-magical character in a non-magical adaptation (ex. Leonardo Da Vinci from Ever After, Rhonda from A Cinderella Story, etc.)

A character from a fairytale adaptation that is broadly a fairy godparent, even if they aren't specifically based on a single fairy godparent (ex. the Fairy Godmother from Shrek 2, Scary Godmother from Scary Godmother, etc.)

A character from a non-fairytale media that is not based on a fairytale but is a fairy godparent (ex. Cosmo & Wanda from Fairly Oddparents, etc.)

Rules for Submission:

Though fairy godmothers are more common than other kinds of fairy godparents, any gendered fairy godparent will be accepted for the tournament! I will try my best to always refer to this as a fairy godparent poll, but if I accidentally call it a fairy godmother poll ever just take it as a mistake and fill it in as fairy godparent!

No unofficial characters (fan characters, OCs, tumblr posts, etc)

No real people. I think this goes without saying, but just in case.

Submit as many characters as you want, but do not submit the same character multiple times. If I realize you've done this, I will ban the character from the tournament.

I have the right to reject any character if they make me uncomfortable or I think it's from problematic media.

The goal is a 32- or 64-bracket, single-elimination. I don't really have enough time or energy to do a 128-bracket, and besides, I don't think we will get enough submissions for a 128-bracket for this particular tourney anyway.

There might be some gray area between a character in a fairytale adaptation that is a fairy godmother vs. someone who falls into the role of the animal companions (Gustave from Ever After or Carter from A Cinderella Story would fall into animal companions adaptation to me, for example). In cases when a character is submitted that I think are animal companion adaptations instead of fairy godparent adaptations, I'll try to be clear and explain why I judged it the way that I did.
