Poisoned loaf poster by Bartosz Kosowski, 2013:
propaganda: made for an opera that tells the story of post-war immigrants from Poland trying to live the American Dream but never really succeeding in it. Love the visual reference to art nouveau.

America by Mieczysław Choynowski, 1932:
propaganda: Collage are a super interesting medium for me, but I don't think there was one in the tournament so far, so here is one of my fav: i love how tiny the statue of liberty is in the corner, even if the shackled hands could reach it would it be enough?

Delaine Le Bas, 2020:
propaganda: All of Małgorzata Mirga-Tas art is interesting but I chose this one, because if I asked most people around about any Roma artists they know, they wouldn't be able to name anyone, so I want to high light this amazing art by a Roma artist paying tribut to another Roma artist Delaine Le Bas.
Re-enchanting the world (Przeczarowując świat), 2022:
see more photos of the installation
[the installation is comprised of 12 big fabrics, each divided in three parts. the upper half illustrates scenes from roma history, the middle one shows the roma women's perspective, and the lower part is about contemporary life in the artist's home village]

Blood, a collage by Marta Janik:
propaganda: The way their faces are replaced by hearts, replacing the features that make them regonicable as individual specific people but makes them the same. The way they are added on to the background just as the flowers making me connect them closer to the flowers then the snowy landscape in the background, like their heart blood, their love made the flowers grow like saint blood. The way I have to think of this poem by Pablo Neruda: "Tie your heart at night to mine, love, and both will defeat the darkness like twin drums beating in the forest against the heavy wall of wet leaves."

Dice board - concept art for The Witcher 3 by Bartłomiej Gawel, 2015:
propaganda: I love when medieval inspired fantasy remembers that colors have existed back than (this becomes more and more a thing, but a lot of "medieval" media from my youth was so grey-brown!); I am also a fan of the macabre whimsical vibes, that too feels in line with the medieval inspiration, and is something I like to see more of.

La ronda en el tiempo (National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City) by Fanny Rabel, 1964:
propaganda: okay I am not sure if Fanny Rabel counts, she emigrated to Mexico with her family, when she was young, but even if not, I don't think you will mind looking at her work - Rabel studied under Frida Kahlo and her art is great.
