On black panther fandom I found out that Tchalla and Storm were a couple in the comics until get divorced and there are men who ship Tchalla and Storm attacking Movie!Nakia. They're calling Lupita Nyong'o's Nakia “random village girl”. They say "shouldn't we want a black couple in the movie?" but Nakia IS black, they erase Lupita Nyong'o and her character all the time or just mention her just to attack. Movie!T'Challa and Nakia is a healthy black relationship, imagine erase LUPITA NYONG'O????

So one of the things that's happening here is colorism tbh. Like movie Storm was played by halle berry and alexandria shipp both of whom are lighter skinned black women.

not to mention Lupita is a dark skinned black woman

so I think its a colorism/featurism problem here. but then again i'm not black what do you think Black followers?

Some people/ fic writers assume they are feathers on Namora’s outfit..

but wouldn’t it be more logical for them to be giant tiger fish fins? Since feathers wouldn’t do well in the water? I’m not sure about Namor’s headdress though.

Just watched Black Panther: Wakanda Forever with my mum who was watching for the first time and even she commented at the end that the direction made it seem that Shuri and Namor had a romantic connection.🤷🏽‍♀️

It’s so refreshing to have colour and non-English language in a blockbuster movie! ...Buuut, it’s so draining to have no one to cheer for and no sensible storyline, and the numbing length of this means that every frustrating choice, comedic misstep, and illogical leap is really given its screen time. Colourful! but bad.
