“yes donghyun?” i asked as he showed a small smile, turning my chair to face him. “are you angry at me..?” he asked with a soft tone and i immediately facepalmed myself, “no, no donghyun… i’m not, how did you even get this information?”

“well… you called me leehan instead of donghyun yesterday in chat and i was worried you were angry at me. and you didn’t seem too happy when i said i would join you for lunch today…” he explained.

“oh my silly donghyun… no i’m not angry okay? i was just stressed over council work! i’ll always be more than happy to have you around me.” i giggled and ruffled his hair as he nodded and smiled.

“also what happened to your head? that’s a pretty bad bruise…” donghyun pointed out, touching it slightly as i winced. “a little fight happened and i was there to witness it.” i took his hand away from my bruise as he rolled his eyes and interlocked our hands under the table, “you need to be more careful ynie! always call me okay?”

i nodded at his reply, trying to let my hand free from his grip but he held it slightly tighter and smiled at me, “shh, pay attention to class, pretty.”

“ I THINK JIEUN HATES ME . “ I STARTED THE COVERSATION AS WE ALL SAT AROUND OUR TABLE. I WAS SEATED IN BETWEEN MOKA AND YUNAH WHILE IN FRONT OF ME WAS DONGHYUN.

“what makes you say so?” donghyun asks as he stole a bite of my chicken. “i don’t know… everytime i’m talking to donghyun, she’s just staring at me with those eyes.” i shivered at the thought of it, taking my chicken back.

“well whatever it is, we’re here to protect you!” moka defended as they as they nodded in unison. soon enough, the unspoken person sat with us. with donghyun.

“oh my, i missed you so much leehan! you weren’t in classes this morning!” jieun says in a cute voice as we all looked away except for me, i mainted eye contact with donghyun.

“yeah. i was late.” he replied dryly as he tapped his finger three times on the table. one of our codes.

“oh.. oh! um, i actually have to get going for council meeting!” i said as i picked my bag from the floor and took my tray of food, “i’ll follow. i have to go to the restroom anyway.”

just like that, we managed to escape from jieun as the rest slowly came up with excuses to leave. donghyun and i were at the school’s library where i was going to have my meeting. “i’ll see you after my meeting?”

“i’ll be right here!” he cheered as we hugged and did our handshake.

quite a long written chapter , my apologies (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶) smau below !

" OH MY HAHA ! YOU'RE SO FUNNY DONGHYUN ! " JIEUN LAUGHED A LITTLE TOO HARD AS WE ALL WAITED FOR THE SCHOOL BUS TO PICK US UP FOR OUR SCHOOL TRIP TO THE AQUARIUM.

"it wasn't that funny... also i told you to call me leehan. i don't feel comfortable with people calling my donghyun." donghyun raised his eyebrow as she pouted and crossed her arms.

oh god is that what i look like everytime i do that..?

"but, why is yn allowed to call you donghyun?" she asks with a pout as the two girls gagged but i mainted a straight face, looking out for the teacher as the head student councillor in charge of the whole trip (with the teacher).

"because yn and i... we're really close." donghyun said as she opened her mouth but he hushed her, "look i don't feel comfortable so just call me leehan."

soon enough, the teacher arrived and so did the school bus.

"can i sit with you, leehan?" jieun asked him as he looked at me, "i was going to sit with yn, if you don't mind.." donghyun said as his eyes glistened.

"ynnie, could i sit with leehan?" i gulped a ball of saliva, muttering 'um ' over and over again.

but i had to be a good example right..? plus, it seems like jieun really likes donghyun from the moment she stepped in. it's been a whole week and she's clinged on him us like peas in a pod.

"sure..? i guess..." i said as donghyun's eyes widened. "who'll you sit with then..?" he asked with a slight pout. usually it would be the two of us sitting together, followed by yunah and taesan, lastly moka and anton.

"i'll be fine, don't worry!" i smiled at donghyun and he sighed dramatically, taking a seat with the girl in between the other four.

"alright..! everyone seated? let's have a fun day today!" i said as everyone cheered. i took a seat nearby the six but an empty one.

i sighed as i plugged in my airpods, listening to songs as i looked out the window. my phone kept ringing off, messages from the groupchat without jieun blasted.

i didn't think about it much and just closed my eyes. however, what i thought would be a peaceful ride, i was awoken by the sounds of anton yelling moka's name.

"shut the fuck up anton..! yn's gonna wake up!" moka slapped a hand over anton's hand and i giggled, "i'm awake now."

before i knew it, donghyun came out of his seat and sat down beside me. "hey," he said as he smiled down to me.

"hey, why aren't you with jieun?" i asked, trying to cover my tone of joy because he sat with me.

"eh she's asleep and she's boring..." donghyun laughed as i slapped his chest lightly, "rude of you."

NOT TOO LONG LATER , WE FINALLY ARRIVED AT OUR DESTINATION.

"everyone, please get into groups of six and stay within your groups. we'll be going to areas separately and we'll come back here to share our new learnings!" i announced as everyone immediately scattered around.

moka and yunah were doing signals with their hands for me to join but unfortunately, they were already six — moka, yunah, anton, taesan, donghyun and jieun.

i smiled in defeat and mouthed an, "it's okay".

"okay group one's leader will be jungwon, group two will be wonyoung, and lastly group three will be leehan." i announced and let out my last words of rules to follow before they dispersed.

"yn—"

"leehan! let's see the fishes!" you guessed it, jieun pulled donghyun away and the other four rolled their eyes before following.

i strolled around the aquarium alone, smiling and staring at the fishes. this one looks like donghyun. i thought to myself before taking a picture of it.

walking around more, i bumped into my classmates. "oh? you are walking alone yn-ssi?" jungwon asked as i nodded hesitantly, letting out a small smile.

"oh! well you can always join us! we don't mind an extra here!" jungwon continued as i shook my head, "it's fine, i'm okay!" i assured jungwon and his group before walking off.

i smiled as i saw donghyun and his group from afar. the way donghyun was passionately explaining the fishes and their different species. i smiled even wider, i picked this trip for him.

thinking i looked stupid, i wiped the smile off my face and walked the other way. walking into the shark aquarium, i read more about the different types of sharks.

"hammerhead sharks... that's cute." i mumbled to myself as someone appeared beside me, "looking at sharks, ynnie?" i looked up to see donghyun.

i smiled widely, "so are you. where's your group, leader?" he fixed his glasses before answering, "told them i went to the restroom!" i laughed at his answer, "am i the restroom?"

"don't be weird yn," we laughed as he stared at me.

"is there something on my face..?"

"hm, no. but follow me, i have something to show you!" donghyun said with a wide smile as he locked his hand with mine and walked us out of the shark aquarium.

" FIVE MORE MINUTES MOM... " I YELLED AS I ROLLED ON THE OTHER SIDE OF BED. THE BANGINGS GETTING LOUDER AS I GROANED AND SAT UP.

i got up and washed up, getting ready for school as i texted donghyun. "ARE YOU HERE YET." i texted but no reply. i groaned as i did my hair and light makeup.

oh yeah, donghyun and i have gotten much closer since our last accidental meetup two years ago. best friends? close friends? i'm not sure but ever since we've met, we texted each other on our socials for almost two years.

"eomma, i think i'm going to school by myself today—" i said as i walked down the stairs. taking my phone out to check if donghyun had replied me but still, no reply.

i was too focused on going down the stairs with my phone plastered to my face that i almost bumped into who i thought was my dad.

"appa— donghyun?!" i yelled as he smiled and gave me a hug, "good morning to you too. i was about to knock on your door again." he said in a joyful tone as i rolled my eyes and hugged him back.

"intruder much..." i mumbled as he gasped dramatically, "intruder?!"

we laughed at his reaction, walking out of the house after saying goodbye to my mother who was making already making lunch before she left for work.

donghyun— or leehan, and i were the closest people in school. along with our four other friends — moka, yunah, taesan and anton. we were what they called 'popular' but, i didn't really acknowledge it.

"oh you texted me?" donghyun asked as i rolled my eyes and crossed my arms, "no!" he laughed, mumbling a small "cute."

"also– i got you these. because i know you won't pay attention to biology class unless you had sweets with you." donghyun said as his hand fiddled in his bag, taking out a bag of candies and passing it to me as we reached the front gates.

"thanks, donghyun. i'll see you during lunch?" i put my hand up for our handshake.

"you won't be in maths?" he asked as he also put his hand up.

"student council matters... so lunch?"

"sure thing, i'll save you a seat." with that, we did our handshake and ended it off with a hug as we said our last goodbyes for the next four hours.

“he’s just out to get out at this point… no point in stopping him. ” yunah pointed out as we all nodded. i rolled my eyes in annoyance, “speak of the devil…“

the three of us stopped in our tracks as we folded our arms in unison. “well there… hello yn,“ he smirked as he raised an eyebrow. “what are you doing friday night?“ he asked as he took steps closer and closer to me.

“none of your business. we’ve broken up, stop disturbing me and my friends.” i spat as i pressed a finger to his chest to keep some distance.

he smirked once more, “i’ve told you i’m sorry hm, princess? we’re still together right?” he asked in a soft voice before grabbing my wrist lightly. moka had a tight grip on my other wrist, ready to pull me back if gunwook does anything stupid.

“no, gunwook. get that into your head, i don’t love you anymore.” he chuckled, “oh baby, please? i know you love me.” he said as he tightened his grip on my wrist, making my hand feel slightly cold and numb.

“let go of me, gunwook!” i yelled in despair as the two girls tried to help me but was pushed back by his two other friends. “oh princess, i’m not letting you go. give me a chance.” he asked, more like demanded.

i yelled in his face, “how many times do you want to hear it huh? i hate you park gunwook! let me go!”

“but baby—“

“hey.” a voice came from behind gunwook. we all turned to see a guy with long hair with a lolipop in his mouth. he sucked the pop once more before saying, “didn’t she say to let her go?”

gunwook snickered and smirked, “and who are you? wannabe superman?” gunwook says, letting go of my wrist as his friends backed him up. moka and yunah ran up beside me and asked if i was okay, in which i nodded to but paid more attention to the long haired guy.

“you don’t wanna mess with me.” was the last thing i heard before one of gunwook’s friends was punched to the ground. i stared at the boy who was on the ground with a shocked face before back at the guy, “you might wanna close your eyes.”

i nodded and closed my eyes, along with moka and yunah. soon enough, no punches were heard but footsteps neared us. “you’re free..!”

i opened my eyes and nudged the two girls, “who are you…”

“leehan. kim donghyun, but just call me leehan. i’m assuming he’s your ex?”

“yeah… thanks donghyun. it’s nice to meet you.”

“yeah cool. no problem. don’t let a year up get to you, word of advice.” he said before giving me a lolipop and walking off, “thanks..?”
