Delving into the harrowing details of a case from Boise, Idaho, about a string of missing women, was enough to make your eyebrows knit together and your lips press into a tight line.

“They went missing roughly two months apart,” the blonde, known as Jennifer Jareau—JJ—trailed off, her gaze briefly shifting to something, or in this case, someone. “Well, hello.”

Following her line of sight, you glanced over and met Spencer’s eyes before your stare traveled up to his new and improved hair.

His hair. Once long, now short.

And did he look good.

A profound silence envelops the room, as he pulls out his chair and slumps into it, his lips curving into that all-too-familiar tight-lipped smile. He didn’t want to discuss it and instead chose to concentrate on what was displayed on the screen.

Until Hotch decided to open his mouth.

The man with a neutral expression looked over at him, then asked, “What, did you join a boyband?”

With that, everyone seated around the round table either let out a hearty laugh or a smile, their eyes twinkling with amusement. They watched him intently as his eyebrows furrowed, his mouth opening and closing while he struggled to find the right words, before finally settling on a, “No.”

Sensing his mild embarrassment, you hummed softly and cut in, “I think it looks good.”

Silence.

You can visibly see the tips of his ears flushing with a rosy red tint, causing you to smile. He sends you a grateful nod and a quiet, “Thank you,” when Emily transitions the conversation back to the topic of the case.

He would need a moment to calm down.
