Chapter 33. Little Garden

The boy wrapped his arms around the duck and pressed him down. It was a clear order to surrender, but all actions were carried out with obvious gentleness and caution to not hurt by accident and a smile that spoke volumes of how much he liked the bird.

The moment Carue yielded by stilling against Luffy’s hold, the boy burst out laughing, unwrapped his arms, but didn’t let the duck go just yet. He plopped on top of him, buried fingers into the feathers and started moving them up and down.

Soon Carue melted under his touch, letting out a content trill of quiet quacks.

“Shishishishi,” Luffy chuckled as he kept scratching along the duck’s neck and back. “You might not be the fluffy one I’m searching to recruit into my crew, but your feathers are really soft!”

Vivi thought she misheard him. Recruit what into his crew? “Fluffy one?” she muttered in disbelief.

Nami barked out a short laugh. “Luffy’s quite adamant on finding one,” she said, mischief written in the lines of her features. “The fluffy one.”

Vivi stared at Nami’s grin that screamed ‘it’s an inside secret’ loud and clear.

a fic that brought me the warm fuzzies:

no place like home by dirgewithoutmusic. it's part of their boy with a scar series and even though my OTP still dies it gave me lots of fuzzies:

a fic that brought me on a new ship: this is hard to answer! i've got two OTPs that are inseparable. Remus/Tonks and Dumbledore/Grindelwald are the two ships that I won't ever imagine with anyone else. it was canon that brought me aboard those ships though.

every other ship is fairly negotiable in terms of what I'll read. i prefer canon ships and canon brought me aboard, but there hasn't been a fic that has made me love a ship like I love remadora or grindeldore. ex: hinny. I like hinny and will defend ginny as the only girl for harry, but I don't go out of my way to read hinny fics and the hinny fics I HAVE read haven't really changed how I feel about the ship.

all this rambling to say that romantic ships outside of my two favorites aren't very interesting to me. so if i may, I'll offer friendSHIPs instead!

a wildly AU fic that made me really appreciate harry & luna's friendship was Antithesis by oceanbreeze7. It's one of the few fics that made me cry. i've reread it a couple times and I enjoy it every time.
