Ok, so, I've been trying for too much to think what Pokémon represents best the IkeVap boys and?? I'm clueless H e l p Like maybe Theo could be a Lucario, Nappy an Arcanine, Moz a Glaceon, but honestly? I Do Not Know And I'm Not Sure™️

Truly, I have never been more understood than in this moment 😂😂 I love Pokémon, so it was fun to do this! I just hope I don’t disappoint~

That being said bc I have absolutely no reading comprehension despite appearances, I originally just made a kind of compilation of the Pokémon I thought they would have (if it’s a legendary Pokémon, maybe they’re just Good Bros^TM at least). But given that much of my selections were made on the basis of similarities between each suitor and the pokémon listed, I decided to just add and bold the one that I felt best embodied each character c:

I haven’t seen much of Disney’s The Owl House but this tiny shot from the intro fascinates me for the amount of cool references it has. Let’s look at them one by one.

1) Probably the one most people has already pointed out. Is from the Hollow Knight! A game I don’t know much about but I find the art direction very cool!

2) Some anime references? The kitty looks lke Luna from Sailor Moon, a show that is also heavily referenced in other modern cartoons like Star Vs. The alpaca with bowtie looks like the one from Hatsune Miku’s song “Leave in Summer”.

3) Moar anime references? is this show trying to compete with Steven Universe or what? Perhaps they could also be some normal stock plushes but Im pretty sure those are Psycho Jenny from Devilman and an Ohmu from Ghibli’s Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.

4) Another one a lot of people has already pointed, Sachiel from Evangelion.

5) It looks like Femto from Berserk, but because is playing an electric keyboard makes me think in the Phantom of Paradise a way more. That movie was also probably the inspiration for Femto in the first place.

6) Piplup? could be a stock penguin but still mention it just in case. And whats that other thing? FINALLY something that is not anime, is the bag from Uncle Grandpa! But what impresses me more is that white creature between them!

Is a reference to one of the critters from Hieronymus Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights! Now THAT’S a cool thing to reference! And goes very well with the medieval theme the show has. Best part is, that is not the only one...

7) Yet another creature from the same painting by Bosch! Though it also reminds me cute little Digitamamon from Digimon a little.

8) Could be a simple stock snail, but the colors make me think in the one from Adventure Time who also was supposed to be an easter egg in every AT episode. So hooray, we found him in another show! Fun fact: Alex Hirsch (King’s voice actor) and Pen Ward (AT creator) used to work together in The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack.

9) Finally, there is a lot of others plushes that seem familiar but I can’t point what they are. I don’t think they would make such detailed models for a random 3-second scene. But what are they? toys? animes? spore creatures? Let me know in the comments!

Disclaimer— a lot of these were hard decisions. I just chose the ones I had the strongest inclination towards.

Bulbasaur: If y'all have been following me for a long time, I've used Bulbasaur as a fc and it was even the branding of my art blog before I changed it to appear more professional (and to avoid copyright messiness). It would be a crime if I didn't choose Bulbasaur.

Cyndaquil: I literally had to Google the names of the other two starters because I forgot them. (I was calling Chikorita "Bayleef" and Totodile "Feraligatr" in my head asdfghjkl.) I also have fond memories of my Typhlosion in the Gen 2 remake so I feel like it's the most natural choice despite not normally leaning towards fire types.

Mudkip: Though I like all three evolutionary lines in gen 3 and I could honestly play as any of them, Mudkip's evolutionary line is cute to me for whatever reason. Swampert is shaped like a friend.

Piplup: Now, I have a huge soft spot for Gen 4 because it's the generation I started with. I'd buy the upcoming Gen 4 remake over Sword/Shield just from the pure nostalgia I feel and I heard Sword/Shield wasn't that good. Like Gen 3 (and technically Gen 1 too—Bulbasaur is sentimental but I still love the other two starters), I could play with any of these starters and I feel like I've had all of them at one point. Piplup is the cutest to me though.

Oshawott: I like all of the starters, though I like Oshawott's evolutionary line the most. I had a Tepig plush at one point, idk where it is though. Snivy is cute too.

Froakie: I skipped X/Y because I didn't get the 3DS until Sun and Moon. Even then, I chose the Gen 3 remake over X/Y for whatever reason. I just chose Froakie because I like frogs.

Rowlett: I chose Rowlett as my starter in Moon because I liked its evolutionary line the best and I love owls. Just look at their little leaf bowtie! They're precious!

Scorbunny: I chose Scorbunny because it's a bunny. That's it. That's the reason.

This took me forever to finish!!

But this is my entry for the Pokémon challenge or thing I started.

So we are only allowed to pick 6 Pokémon to battle with.

1 to travel the world with and 1 legendary Pokémon.

I drew myself the best I could but... I look like a boy... oh well.

I tired to keep the Pokémon style but you don’t have to. You can also give an explanation on why you chosen the Pokémon if you’d like. Put #PokéFamilySO for all to see.

My explanation is a bit long but like I said you can give one if you want to.

My Pokémon that I would travel with would be Natu. Not just any Natu, a shiny Natu. Natu is a Pokémon that I would say I would be if I were a Pokémon. It’s small like a humming bird, it’s design reminds me of Natives, and in the Pokédex it states that it cannot fly yet due its wings being small and that it will stare at you and will flee if you move slightly (meaning that I take it as not being ready and needing to learn much more). I would really spoil my Pokémon and give them piece they may like. For example, Natu has his feather. I think his nickname would be Zay.

As for my 6 Pokémon I choose to take to battle.

The first would be Piplup. Piplup holds a very special place in my love of Pokémon. Piplup is the very first Pokémon that I had in a game. It the very first Pokémon that I evolved, and it’s the very first Pokémon that I bonded with. In my first ever Pokémon game my dad bought me, I picked Piplup cuz he was the cutest (mind you I was a little girl who picked cute Pokémon and chose names very carefully). His name? Welp, I named him Pedro. He is always and forever will be known to me as Pedro. Thus I gave him a bowtie.

The second Pokémon I picked is Luxray. Luxray is the very first Pokémon I caught and raised alongside Pedro. I loved him as Shinx but when he evolved the last time, I immediately fell in love with Luxray’s design. As a kid, I have always imagined myself riding on Luxray on an adventure like in the movies. I have various nicknames throughout all my games I owned but if I had to pick one for life, I believe it would be Aryan. I always liked how bandanas looked on animals like how our pup Ren proudly wore his blue bandana before he passed, thus in memory of our puppy, I gave him a bandana.

The third Pokémon I picked is a shiny Gardevoir. Again, as a kid, I liked cute and pretty things. Gardevoir then came along later in the game. Not that I had own one, another trainer had one. But I loved the design on her. I think her description in the Pokédex is what got me to love her even more as she is such a protector. I always liked those girls in anime who are ‘t afraid to be a badass and fight than those who run and hide. I always wanted to strive to be able to protect myself and others than run and hide. Gardevoir is such an inspiration to me from then on, especially in the show. So she be the third Pokémon to take with me. I always had one name for her, Sakura. Not from Naruto... I just liked the name in general as she is pretty like the flower Sakura and is graceful in battle. For her, I give her a bow to top off her colors.

The fourth Pokémon would be Vulpix. I had always had a thing with characters portrayed either as a fox, personalities like a fox, or is compared to a fox. Then when I learned about Kitsune, it made me fall in love with more characters with fox like aesthetics. Vulpix reminds me of my favorite anime shows and some of my favorite characters. So when she evolves to Ninetails, I fell in love with her more. But I’d like to keep her little. For her, I gave her a flower for her blazing soul. Her nickname is Koko.

The fifth Pokémon would be Lucario. Lucario is another Pokémon that fascinated me. He was one of those who reminded me of a fox like personality, yet at the same time reminds me of those characters who like to think they’re cold, but in reality are actually pretty protective. Honestly, I think with my team, I think we’re a rescue team like a response team than a adventure/trainer team. That and I think Lucario would be a great campion as well who will help you as they tap into auras and know what you are feeling or thinking. Like a therapy Pokémon. For Lucario, I gave him a bandana similar to Aryan but with a gem to help with his powers. Oh, and his nickname is Sammy.

The last Pokémon I’d have with me for battle (campaign) is Sableye. Honestly, I thought he was creepy as a kid. He scared me. But growing up, I became more fascinated with horror movies, gore, haunted houses (the kind you work in and not literal haunted), creepy pastas, and halloween. So I became to have more appreciation for Sableye. Then while watching the show, I found that Sableye is not what he seems. He really is a curious creature. A very shy creature. While the Pokédex says otherwise, I fell in love with Sableye and he had become one of my best Pokémon to raise in a game besides Pedro and Aryan. For Sableye, I gave him a bracelet with an emerald. As for his nickname, Spirit came in mind as his Pokédex says his eyes were to steal spirits of people... but he can’t... he’s too cute...

My legendary Pokémon I have chosen is Celebi. He was the very first legendary Pokémon I have seen. I saw one of the Pokémon movies and he was the first one I saw. He was soooooo cute! But really powerful. I mean he can time travel?! Come on! How cool would it be to travel back in time? Or even in the future?! And not just a celebi, but a shiny Celebi?

As for me, I’d be either a trainer or a ranger. I like forming bonds with Pokémon. Sometimes I wish they could be real. I’d wear by favorite purple sweater and some soft sweats, along with my hat and maybe some gloves, before going on my adventure.

Pokemon World Market

Messing around has once again found me coming across another themed set of Pokemon accessories.This time it’s based around what was mainly seen as the objects which defined the regions Kanto through Alola(Could have seen holding this one back until after Galar became fully official but ehh...).

Not applied to all items is who is our focal point explorers to this multicultural marketplace event,Pikachu and Eevee:

After that we have the booths which are mainly headed by each region’s starter Pokemon and sometimes a bonus face or two...

Kanto

The pair seems to begin their exploration in their own home region.The booth shares a likeness to a Pokemon Center.Bulbasaur,Charmander,and Squirtle are each wearing Red’s hat and seem to have brought along Snorlax for PokeFlute demonstrations.Notable items include:

Similar to Kanto we see Turtwig,Chimchar,and Piplup wearing hats except this time around they’re snow hats to show the weather is colder.Instead of having the headgear the trio share Croagunk is keeping warm with a scarf but the fire monkey is trying to put a helmet on the frog’s head due to the underground also playing a major theme(Which is also why Turtwig has the shovel).Inside their tepee seems to be some sort of Electivire-Themed object.Up in the air is either a one-armed Drifloon or an actual balloon made in its likeness(No wonder kids are never seen again thanks to those things,think again on your design choices).

Unova

Going for the malt shop/vibe of a restaurant chain in the vein of Johnny Rockets we have Snivy seemingly serving a Casteliacone to a Vanillite,Tepig coming with a burger I think is possibly also for said sentient cone(I’m concerned),and it would seem Oshawott might be fantasizing about rocking out when it should be using that broom to clean.The trio is also being a bit like the waiter triplets thanks to the fact they are wearing bowties and their color choice is the type they are generally super effective against.

Combination clothing shop and cafe.Froakie serving a fancy treat to Goomy while Fennekin does not seem too happy Chespin’s running off with a hat.To no true surprise the clothing is mainly the default stuff the protagonists wore.In the window there is also a larger Substitute compared to the last region.

Alola

Rowlet,Litten,and Popplio are serving malasadas with Alolan Exeggutor pens as a souvenir option on the side.Each of them also has a hat the female protagonist could have worn at some point in the games.Pyukumuku’s here as well giving the peace sign and you can never go wrong with that.

What starter Pokemon would the champions start with? I assume Link is close enough with them to know?

(So I'm going to do one for each generation of starters. Since there are 4 champions and only 3 starters there might be one repeated amongst champions)

Kanto:

Urbosa would choose Charmander because she worried that the others wouldnt be comfortable in the desert heat. She also just thought he was super cute and fell in love at first sight

Mipha would choose Squirtle because his ability to create water reminds her of Ruta. Like Urbosa, she just instantly fell in love the moment she saw him.

Daruk chooses Charmander for similar reasons Urbosa did. Living on death mountain can be a challenge, but for Charmander its heaven.

Revali surprisingly chooses Bulbasaur. They may not have anything in common, but once Bulbasaur saw Revali use a bow, he tried to imitate him with his vines and a stick he found. This made Revali melt a little inside.

Johto:

Urbosa and Daruk choose a Cyndaquil since they can survive in scorching climates. Urbosa had a hard time choosing though, since she thought Chikorita and Totodile were equally as cute.

Mipha happily picked Chikorita. This was unexpected to the other champions. Chikorita doesnt exactly fit in at the domain, but she loves how available water is when she needs it.

Revali chooses totodile to mix things up a bit. He and totodile dont exactly see eye to eye at first, but once they get along, Link has a hard time dealing with both their superior attitudes.

Hoen:

Once again Urbosa and Daruk are choosing the fore type. Torchic loves being with Daruk up on Death Mountain, and even more so when it evolves into Blaziken. Who knew all those boulders would make for great training.

Mipha falls in love with Mudkip the second she sees him. She can tell right away that he would feel at home in the domain.

Revali ends up choosing Treecko, which ends up driving him crazy. Treecko likes to climb the pillar in Rito village, which means Revali has to constantly fly around frantically searching for him before he hurts himself.

Sinnoh:

Mipha didnt choose her starter pokemon this time, piplup chooses her. As soon as she walks in piplup immediately runs into her arms.

Daruk and Urbosa both choose Chimchar. Urbosa absolutely adores how cute he is, and loves it when he climbs up onto her shoulder.

Revali sees potential in Turtwig and picks him. Turtwig loves being surrounded by the tall trees that line the Hebra region.

Unova:

Mipha and Oshawott love to swim together. Oshawott regularly brings Mipha pretty shells he finds.

Urbosa and Daruk practically fight over Tepig, until Zelda breaks it up and tells them they both can have one. Daruk was smitten by this cute little pig just like Urbosa, prompting the fight when they both yelled "I want that one" in unison.

Revali took one look at Snivy and knew that they would get along. Snivy of course didnt think Revali was worthy at first, but after a while she grew very fond of Revali and wouldnt want to have anyone else as her Trainer.

Kalos:

Mipha does the unthinkable able and chooses Fennekin with Daruk. No one thinks that their relationship will work out, but fennekin actually loves being with Mipha

Urbosa chooses Froakie, who loves to hide in her hair. Zelda thinks its adorable.

Revali chooses Chespin solely because he thinks it's kinda cute. That's it.

Alola:

Revali chooses Rowlet because finally theres a starter that looks like a bird. He also likes the little bowtie

Urbosa and Daruk choose Litten. Daruk is VERY happy that it resembled a cat and not a dog..

Mipha and Popplio get along so well. Mipha loves to teach him little tricks to do in the water, and Popplio likes to do little tricks for the Zora children.

Galar:

Urbosa is absolutely in love with Scorbunny, and scorbunny loves Gerudo fashion apparently. Daruk also chooses Scorbunny, and Link really finds it adorable when Scorbunny jumps on top of Daruk's head.

Revali opts to take Grookey. He knows that while he's busy training at the flight range, Grookey would have a blast playing in the trees. At the end of the day they can both go home where Grookey climbs everything Revali owns. It really reminds him of Link..

Mipha looks at Sobble and cant believe that no one else wants him. She promises to take the best care of him and always makes sure that he knows he is loved.

        Meet ANZU MAZAKI. Although originally a native to the Kalos region, Anzu grew up with her mother in Hoenn following her parents’ divorce. She’s an aspiring POKEMON PERFORMER competing in Showcases, with her sights set on the coveted title of KALOS QUEEN. Besides being a Performer, she does occasionally engage in battles to strengthen the bond between herself and her Pokemon.

#334 - Altaria - Dragon/Flying Type ( Mega Altaria - Dragon/Fairy )  - Female. Anzu’s “ace” Pokemon when it comes to battling. She is also in possession of the stone which allows Altaria to Mega Evolve into Mega Altaria.

#764 - Comfey - Fairy Type - Female. Lovingly nicknamedd “Peach”, this Comfey spends more time outside her Pokeball than in it. Usually she lays atop Anzu’s head, giving off the appearance that her trainer is constantly wearing a flower crown.

#173 - Cleffa - Fairy Type - Female. Anzu adores her Cleffa to pieces and will occasionally let her hang outside her Pokeball. She provides as much amusement as she does cuteness, especially when she tries to mimic Anzu’s dance moves despite the lack of grace.

#037 Vulpix ( Alola ) - Ice type - Male. One of Anzu’s more recent additions, Anzu and Vulpix are bonding fast and that definitely shows in their battles and Showcases.

#700 Sylveon - Fairy Type - Female. Arguably the star of Anzu’s team when it comes to Showcases. Other than Comfey, Sylveon spends most of her time outside the Pokeball and will often be the first to join in on Anzu’s dance practise. They make an incredible pair, with natural grace and finesse in their performances.

#393 - Piplup - Water Type - Male. Probably the only Pokemon that could equally match Anzu in stubborness. More for battling than Showcases, though he’s been known to pull off a bowtie very well.

              Pip--- Hikari’s sweet, never-evolved, extreme brat of a Piplup was always very particular when it came to shopping for his own contest accessories. Yes, that’s right: a small blue penguin pokemon was the true mastermind of his own outfits and clothes and everything. Though he’d gotten far less entitled over the years, there were occasional circumstances where he’d spot an accessory he felt a great deal for, and would demand to try it on. The squirming in his trainer’s arms indicated that such a stroke of creative genius was underway---on the shelf he tried to pull towards sat a single black bowtie with white polka dots. 

             Hikari never saw the attraction. Though she let her small friend compete in contests often, there were only musicals here in Unova---and they weren’t the same thing. Though they granted Pip far more autonomy than the old contests back home had ever allowed, they also weren’t as competitive. Was he just determined to look good? Who for? Himself? 

                           “ Okay, okay, chill Pip---I’ll let you see it. Hold on a second. “ 

         She shifted one arm free to check the inside of her tote for her wallet; if he liked the bowtie, they wouldn’t be walking out of the store without it. Her money was thankfully with her, and as she took the free arm again to reach towards the accessory, another hand reached in the same direction out of the corner of her eye.
