Gaza has no food - How your donations are essential in helping Gazans survive

"Gaza has no food," "At least 798 Palestinians have been killed at aid distribution point," "85% of Gaza's population have entered the 'fifth stage' of malnutrition," you have heard of all this, and I will not go into detail. In response to this, I have heard a lot of people asking - some out of genuine concern, others as an excuse not to help - "If Gaza has no food, how will donating to individual families help?"

But your donations do help Gazans get food, and it is now more important than ever. Here is how (information provided by my friend Ibrahim (@aburakhiaibrahim) (help him here)):

Official aid is severely restricted as Israel has forbid food supplies from entering Gaza. Aid is funneled through the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation," which is infamous for their daily massacres of Palestinians.

Some markets in Gaza still have some food, here is where food from the markets come from:

Aid from GHF. Some people are selling aid for an exorbitant price

Food produce from Gaza's farmlands. This constitutes 10% of Gaza's vegetable supply. Again, they are sold at a really high price.

This is all the food left in Gaza.

There are grassroot efforts sourcing food and distributing aid as well, but distribution relies on personal networks. Hence, depending on the location and access, some people receive nothing at all.

This is the food your donations enable Ibrahim's family to purchase. These are all the food items left for 28 people! 28 PEOPLE!!! These supplies are not enough for even a meal for 28 people, yet this is all they have left! As a result, Ibrahim and his family are heavily rationing their food, and they have not eaten anything for 5 days!

Your donations do help, and they are absolutely essential!

Hold on, because now I gotta ask for understanding- are y'all scared to do Black edits of characters? Or is there confusion about what I'm actually asking for the #Melanin Beam Challenge? If so let me clarify because I feel like I'm not communicating properly!

Characters should either be from PRE-EXISTING media, canonically Black or characters from media that aren't Black, but will be Black once you draw/cast them as such (thus, the melanin beam)!

If you'd like examples to guide your creation, the #Blacktober hashtag is a yearly event (now unofficial, thanks to excruciating racism) where Black artists create Black versions of our favorite characters. So there's PLENTY to look at and study, and creators to follow and support!

To be a child so young in a war is terrifying and difficult. More than we can imagine. Simple comforts such as being able to spend some time drawing are limited and fleeting. How can you enjoy your art when you are starving? Cold? Dirty? Sick? Injured? Unsheltered? Afraid? But Gaza's children still take the time they can to draw.

Ghada's family needs food, water, and medical attention for their child Iman.
