I made this for a OC prompt on Bluesky but completely forgor to post it The prompt reminded me of this little scene I wrote but couldn't fit in the main story
The Exarch of Death and Fawn-eating butterflies
“Fawn, wait!”
Arno strode out to a glade, disregarding the cries that the thick trees behind him had already muffled. The glade stretched endlessly, mirroring the boundless sky, its sweeping green expanse encircled by the forest, which from the horizon could easily be mistaken for dense shrubbery. Fighting the stiff grass, he slowed to a stop. Wide eyes took in the scenery taken aback by the waves of green dancing under the wind’s caress. For a moment, he stood completely still, breathless, mesmerized by the silent beauty and the world completely unknown to the human touch that unfolded under his feet. He took few tentative steps, sharp grass catching the ends of his long skirt, when suddenly a burst of color dispersed around him. A dozen butterflies erupted from the ground beneath, fluttering their colorful wings in a playful dance. Arno spun slowly as butterflies encircled him, following their lead as if thanking them for a warm welcome. The butterflies dipped and soared, brushing past his hands and hair, and Arno allowed to be swayed by the delicate wings, to be part of this joyful, fleeting world.
“Stay just like that.” The voice, soft yet authoritative, was much closer now.
Arno hadn't noticed when Orfeo has settled into the grass by the forest’s edge. He was back in his human form, red locks brushing teasingly against his bare collarbones.
“Do you even know what those creatures are?” he asked, his sharp white fangs visible.
Confusion painted Arno’s face. “They are butterflies, right? I’ve seen them in the village,” he said in uncertain tone, knitting his brows. Few butterflies had by then landed softly on his clothes and in his hair.
“Wrong!” Orfeo roared. “They are the spawn of the Exarch of Death, a creature lurking in the shadows of these woods, with a taste for human flesh. Why do you think this place is so devoid of human presence?” His expression was deadly serious, a finger raised toward the sky in emphasis. “Much like their creator, they hunger for blood. Their shimmering wings lure in prey, only to devour them completely, leaving not even the bones behind. A slow and painful death one can’t escape.” Orfeo retrieved a booklet, thumbing through it until he found a blank page. With a piece of graphite, he began sketching the outline of a figure - long hair and a skirt swirling in the wind, just like the person standing before him.
Arno bristled, standing frozen in place - a futile attempt at dissuading the flesh-eating creatures. Cold sweat trickled down his back as he watched the demon’s casual demeanor, unnerved by the calmness. He remained motionless, helpless under the weight of Orfeo’s piercing blue gaze, which silently demanded him to stay still. He bit his lip, his eyes darting frantically in search of an answer . “But what should I... How do I...” he stammered, his voice breaking between sobs. A single butterfly, nestled in the raven hair, crawled slowly toward his face. Black eyes, brimming with tears, desperately sought the demon’s unwavering gaze . “Please, help me,” he cried out his voice trembling with fear and helplessness. In that moment, Orfeo rose and approached the frightened Fawn. He towered over Arno, a gentle smile softening his features, tenderness pooling from his eyes. Arno blushed as the demon cupped his cheek, wiping away the tear that had slipped down. With his other hand, he grabbed the Fawn-eating butterfly from Arno’s hair. In an instant, it burst into flames, its wings never to flutter again. Arno stared, dazed, his breath slowly calming .
“There’s no need for those tears, Fawn,” Orfeo murmured with a smile. “They’re just ordinary butterflies.”

The Promise to the Ends of the Earth
To the ends of the earth, Heiko and Susann were inseparable. Each day began for Heiko with a thought of Susann. He thanked her for filling his life with joy and making him feel truly alive. Together, they shared precious memories and experienced moments that Heiko had previously squandered. Susann guided Heiko onto the right path and helped him break free from the wrong ones.
One day, they stood together at the shore of the ocean, watching the waves. Heiko embraced Susann and whispered softly, "Susann, you are my everything. I would go to the ends of the earth for you."
Susann gazed lovingly into his eyes and replied, "Heiko, you are my anchor in this world. I would accompany you anywhere, even beyond the horizon."
Their love was strong like an endless journey. Heiko pledged to go to the ends of the earth for Susann, beyond the horizon, to the stars and the moon. No matter where Susann would be, she would never lose him, for Heiko would go for her. His commitment knew no bounds.
"Heiko, what would you do to bring us happiness?" Susann asked curiously.
Heiko smiled and responded thoughtfully, "Susann, I would gather all the stars in the sky and the beauty of nature just to bring a smile to your face."
Their bond was strong like the horizon; they were destined for each other. Heiko vowed to go to the ends of the earth for Susann and to fear no adversities on their shared path. Their love was unshakable.
"Heiko, no matter how far the world may separate us, you will always be in my heart," Susann said softly.
Tears glistened in Heiko's eyes as he replied, "And you, Susann, will always be anchored in my dreams, no matter how far apart we may be."
At the ends of the earth, beyond the horizon, they would continue, hand in hand. Heiko would go for Susann, to the ends of the earth. Because their love knew no bounds, it was strong like the bond between the stars. Whatever may come, wherever she may be, Susann would never lose Heiko, for he would go for her, to the ends of the earth.

die with a smile - kim mingyu
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

synopsis | if the world was ending, mingyu would want to be next to you
warnings | mentions of death, blood, doom’s day?, reader has a smaller build than mingyu, you can guess the ending..
notes | yes, this was based off the legendary collab between lady gaga and bruno mars’ and the song ‘die with a smile’ pls check it out if you haven't this is literally one of the best songs ive ever listened to in the year of our lord 2024
can be read as a stand-alone or as a prequel to this mingyu fic!
Tumblr media
‘Come on, slowpoke! Catch up!’
You were running in a green meadow and the tall, swaying grass that reached right below Mingyu’s hip tickled his knees with every step he took in your direction. The view in front of him was the definition of a living dream. The meadow went past the horizon for as long as the eye could see and the bright blue sky seemed large and vast as it loomed over him. The big, round clouds seemed to sway with the wind that blew gently past him, scattering his bangs that were swept across his forehead. Up ahead, you continued to run and skip through the boundless field, a bright giggle leaving your lips as you continued to taunt Mingyu.
‘Last one is the rotten egg!’
A part of Mingyu thought that he would be okay with dying like this.
‘Wait up!’ He picked up his pace and jogged towards you. ‘Baby-'
A loud rumble interrupted his next words as the bright and clear sky turned dark and murky. It was a gradual change, like storm clouds rolling on a sunny day. The rich, healthy grass under his feet began to shrivel up and dry as the dirt ground began to crack and shake.
‘Babe? Mingyu-!’ And right in front of him, the ground gave away and swallowed up the love of his life whole.
‘NO! [NAME] NO-‘ Mingyu reached for you, his outstretched hand too far away to grab your flailing limbs. ‘[NAME]! NO!’
“NO!” Mingyu jackknifed awake, his hair sticking to his sweaty forehead and with a hand still outstretched for someone who could never be saved.
“Another nightmare?” Your voice seemed to snap Mingyu back in reality. He cleared his throat and climbed out of his tattered sleeping bag to sit by you at the entrance of the cave. The sky was similar to his dreams; dark and murky but now, there was also red. Everywhere. Mingyu gave up trying to differentiate what the different reds were: blood, lava, fire. It didn’t matter. All of it was going to kill him in some way or another.
He settled down next to you and rested his head on your shoulder. “It was the meadow one again.” Mingyu mumbled quietly. Although the sky was permanently the same kind of color all hours of the day, you and your husband tried your best to stick to some kind of circadian rhythm to try and keep yourselves alive for as long as possible. Right now, according to our bodies, it was the middle of the night and you were on guard duty.
“What do you think it means?” You asked quietly as you reached up to run your fingers through Mingyu’s matted hair. Neither of you bothered to care about the blood on your fingers or the grime in his hair. You were far too deep into this to care about hygiene anymore.
“We’re all going to die,” Mingyu mumbled. “But I refuse to watch you die in front of me like that dream. I want to be next to you until our very last moment.”
You pressed your nose into your husband’s temple and breathed in a deep breath. It was random love confessions like these that reminded you of how much you loved Mingyu’s spontaneity before The Incident happened.
Before the first asteroid hit, you and Mingyu were a normal couple. You each had your respective jobs; Mingyu as the head of his own architecture firm and you as a research analyst at a biomedical tech company, and both jobs was more than enough to financially support your little party of two. The two of you spent your days together exploring the city and traveling the world together. On random Friday evenings, he would show up to your office 20 minutes before you got off with a bouquet of flowers and sheepish smile. Although he understood nothing about your work, he would ask questions and listen to your responses with a loving look in his eyes. He would hold your hand in the hallways, your matching rings glinting under the fluorescent lights as you clocked out.
That childhood, innocent side of Mingyu disappeared after the world turned upside down. He became more dark and serious, almost never cracking jokes and fixated on keeping both of you alive. He also had a rotation of nightmares that visited him every night. They were different variations of the same vision; losing you first as the world ended.
“Guess what,” You whispered. “I got us some food. Real food.”
Mingyu’s ears perked up at that. “Food?”
The past 48 hours were full of rationing Haribo gummies, water, and granola bars. Although it was a difficult switch for you to get accustomed to, it was even harder for your husband, who was much bigger and needed more nutrients than the ones he received from gummies, water, and granola bars. It pained you to see the man you loved constantly struggle with hunger but didn’t even let out a single peep of complaint to you.
“They were really desperate for first aid so I did an emergency medical procedure in exchange for some instant camping food.” So that explained the new blood stains on your fingers. Mingyu kept his eyes trained on your trembling, bloody hands as you tried to open a package of camping food. The label read ‘Instant Lasagna. 2 Servings’.
Mingyu could already feel his mouth watering at the thought of real food. And lasagna? That was a total luxury that almost nobody could afford right now.
“Baby, can you start up a fire and boil some water? We need hot water for this.”
Fifteen minutes later, and the food was ready. Your eyes glistened with a newfound joy as you opened the seal and held out the first spoonful of lasagna towards Mingyu. “Take a bite and let me know how it tastes.”
He shook his head. “No, you first.”
“Mingyu, I know how much you’ve been struggling because of our rations. If you don’t eat first, I’m going to get mad.”
And he definitely didn’t want that. He took the first bite.
“Oh god, that’s heavenly.” Mingyu’s eyes almost rolled to the back of his head as he groaned. As a head of a thriving architecture firm, Mingyu’s had his fair share of luxury dinners and fine dining in his 13 years of working, but this single spoon of instant lasagna cooked in a dark cave while the world was reaching its expiration date was better than anything he had ever tasted in his entire life.
You beamed. “Really? That’s great. Have another bite-“
Mingyu held up his hand to stop you. “Your turn. I refuse to take another bite until you do.”
“Touche.”
Tumblr media
This was your favorite position. Your back pressed against the front of Mingyu’s chest with his strong arms wrapped around you. It had always been your ultimate favorite way to cuddle, especially because Mingyu liked to nuzzle his face into the crook of your neck at random intervals and deep in a deep breath that tickled the hairs on the back of your neck. The current temperature (read: fire, lava, the basically non-existent ozone) would usually have you push Mingyu and complain that it was too hot, but now, every second counted.
Another asteroid shower had started not too long ago. Usually, this meant packing up everything and moving further east, but both you and Mingyu came to a silent mutual agreement that you were too tired to continue. The two of you were beginning to come to terms with the fact that the world was ending and your time together was also coming to a close.
With every distant thud you heard in the distance, you felt Mingyu take in a shaky breath and nuzzle his face further into your neck. “Gyu…”
“Shhh… I just wanna hold you right now.”
“Gyu, it’s getting closer,” You felt his arms tighten around you. He also knew what that meant. “Lie down with me.”
Mingyu spread his sleeping bag across the stone floor of the cave and gently lowered your head onto the floor, treating you so gently, like you were a piece of glass bound to shatter at any moment. He made himself comfortable next to you, letting you use his arm as a pillow as you buried your face into his chest. “Can you hold me like this?”
“Of course. Today, tomorrow, and every other day you ask me to.” Mingyu kissed the top of your head and sighed.
The two of you remained in silence like that for a while, your sweaty skins slick against each other from the heat, but you didn’t care. You were being held by the man you loved the most. The resounding thuds of the falling asteroids served as a constant reminder for the impending doom waiting for the two of you at the end of this as it drew closer and closer to the cave you were in.
“Look at me, my love,” Mingyu’s voice was ever so gentle and loving. He gently tipped your chin upwards to face him and his eyes roamed your face, as if he was committing every bit of it to memory. “You were the best thing that ever happened to me. Thank you for allowing me to love you and be loved back.”
You smiled. “I’m going to find you in my next life. I promise.”
“That, I won’t doubt for a single moment, my love.” Mingyu dipped his neck lower to capture your lips with his. Soft and gentle. Like Mingyu. A kiss that represented every kiss the two of you ever shared and the ones you will never be able to have anymore. “I love you so much.”
Through your bleary eyes, you tried to commit every part of Mingyu to memory. Under all the grime, sweat, and blood, was the Mingyu you first fell in love with during your freshman year of college. The boy who sheepishly asked for your number after the lecture only to lose to you horribly on your first date at your campus’ bowling alley.
“I love you too.” You whispered.
Mingyu smiled. “Good night, [Name]. Thank you for being mine.”
“Good night, Mingyu. I love you.” Your lips tugged up into a bright smile.
“I’ll love you in every universe. Wherever you go, that’s where I’ll follow.”

Here Comes Kaboom
Tumblr media
Pairing: Tyler Owens x Reader
Summary: Tyler shares his love for storms with his three-year-old daughter Hazel, who joyfully believes she can summon thunder from the safety of his lap.
Mild peril due to storm-watching.
Tyler Owens knew storms like the back of his hand—their rhythm, their power, the way they could turn the sky into a canvas of light and shadow. But nothing compared to the thrill of sharing that passion with his daughter, Hazel. She was only three, but already she had an uncanny connection to the weather, a fascination that seemed to run in her blood.
Today was one of those rare days when the conditions were just right for a storm, not too dangerous, but strong enough to put on a show. Tyler had been watching the weather all morning, debating whether or not to bring Hazel along for a closer look. After much deliberation, he decided to take her out in the truck, knowing they would keep a safe distance, just close enough to see the action without getting caught in it.
Hazel, with her wide, curious eyes and boundless energy, was thrilled when he told her they were going to see a storm. She climbed into the truck with all the excitement of a child about to embark on a grand adventure, her tiny hands gripping as Tyler buckled her into her car seat.
“Are we gonna see a big storm, Daddy?” she asked, her voice filled with wonder.
“Not too big,” Tyler reassured her with a smile, “but big enough to make some noise.”
As they drove out to the open plains, the sky began to darken, the clouds gathering in thick, rolling masses. Hazel’s eyes were glued to the window, watching the sky with an intensity that made Tyler’s heart swell with pride. She was so much like him, so eager to understand the world around her, to feel connected to something greater than herself.
When they finally reached the perfect spot—a wide, flat stretch of land where they could see the storm from a distance—Tyler parked the truck and unbuckled Hazel from her seat. He lifted her onto his lap, letting her small hands rest on top of his as they held the steering wheel together. She leaned back against his chest, her head nestled under his chin, and he wrapped his arms around her, feeling the steady beat of her little heart against his own.
“Look at that, Hazel,” he murmured, nodding toward the horizon where the storm clouds were beginning to boil and churn. “See how the sky is changing colours?”
“Yeah,” she breathed, her voice a hushed whisper. “It’s like the clouds are getting angry.”
Tyler chuckled softly. “That’s right. They’re getting ready to make some noise.”
They sat in comfortable silence, watching the storm unfold. The wind began to pick up, rustling the tall grass around them, and the first flashes of lightning lit up the sky in the distance. Tyler could feel Hazel’s excitement growing, her little body practically vibrating with anticipation.
Suddenly, Hazel raised a hand, her small fingers pointed toward the darkening sky. “Daddy,” she whispered urgently, “be quiet.”
Tyler obeyed, a grin tugging at the corners of his mouth as he watched her. Hazel was completely focused, her eyes wide and bright as she stared out at the storm. For a few seconds, there was nothing but the sound of the wind whistling through the truck’s open windows.
Then, in a soft, solemn voice, Hazel declared, “Here comes kaboom.”
Tyler held his breath, waiting. And just as she said it, a low rumble of thunder rolled across the plains, growing louder and louder until it crashed like a cymbal, reverberating through the air around them. Hazel’s eyes lit up with pure, unfiltered joy, and she turned to look up at her father, a triumphant grin spreading across her face.
“I did it, Daddy,” she whispered, her voice full of awe. “I made the kaboom.”
Tyler’s heart melted as he looked down at her, seeing the wonder and pride shining in her eyes. He knew, of course, that she hadn’t really made the thunder, but in that moment, it didn’t matter. What mattered was the magic she felt, the connection to the storm that made her believe, even if just for a moment, that she had called the thunder into being.
“You sure did, Hazel,” he said softly, kissing the top of her head. “You made the biggest kaboom I’ve ever heard.”
Hazel giggled, clearly pleased with herself, and snuggled deeper into his arms, her attention returning to the storm. They sat there together, watching as the lightning danced across the sky and the thunder rumbled in response, each crash more powerful than the last. Hazel’s excitement never waned, her eyes wide with wonder as she took it all in, every flash and bang a testament to the incredible world she was just beginning to discover.
For Tyler, it was a moment of perfect contentment. Here he was, sharing something he loved with the person he loved most in the world, passing down not just a passion, but a sense of awe and respect for the natural world. As they watched the storm together, he could feel the bond between them growing stronger, shaped by these shared experiences, these quiet moments where nothing else mattered but the sky and the storm and the two of them together.
When the storm finally began to move on, the thunder growing softer and the lightning fading into the distance, Hazel let out a little yawn, her head resting against Tyler’s chest. “That was the best storm ever, Daddy,” she murmured sleepily.
Tyler smiled, gently rubbing her back. “I’m glad you liked it, sweetheart.”
“Can we do it again?” she asked, her voice already heavy with sleep.
“Someday,” he promised, “we’ll do it again.”
And as Hazel drifted off to sleep in his arms, Tyler sat there a little while longer, watching the last remnants of the storm disappear over the horizon. He knew that this was just the beginning for Hazel—that she would grow up with the same love for storms that he had, the same curiosity and wonder that made him who he was.
But for now, it was enough to hold her close, to feel her small body rise and fall with each breath, and to know that in her dreams, she was still making thunder, still calling down the kabooms that made her eyes light up with joy.
And Tyler wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Requests for Tyler are open be free to send in as much as you wish!

[Boundless Horizon]
Situated in the middle region between the Holy Empire and the Metropolis, the land is known for its beautiful nature and vibrant atmosphere. Rumors said that life itself seems to took particular interest upon this land for even war did not deal any lasting wound onto the prosperous land. The area used to be paced with tourists from every regions, some even decided to settle here, refugees and citizens alike
Boundless Horizon welcomes everyone from every background thus having a diverse cultural background and a neutral stance in politics. Before, it acted as a common trading ground between the two ruling nations, because of that citizens were constantly amazed at the everlasting eternal beauty despite residing in the middle of cross fire of a power battle
The view of the city is of both melancholy yet also full of serenity, numerous evidence of past civilizations still remain despite the change in owner as nature spreads its influence through every nook and cranny that it touches
Upon reaching the destination, standing ever so gracefully despite the passage of time is the city’s gate, once more greeting its long awaited guests after cycles of remaining untouched, the ever so familiar words shine humbly upon the visitors’ gaze

“Now isn’t the time, Zo.”
You sidestep him in the cramped galley, ignoring how the bare skin of his arm burns you as it brushes against your shoulder. You tune out the noisy chatter and the clinking dishes, biting down on your lip as hard as you can, and dart to the exit.
When the cool, salty air hits your face, you gulp down a lungful, exhaling raggedly as the tears finally flow. The stars—twinkling, incandescent—offer you no comfort in their silence. And it feels like the moon mocks you from her lofty seat in the sable sky. The waves lazily slosh against the hull, and for a moment, it’s peaceful. But the air is disturbed as soon as Zoro bursts outside.
“The hell’s this all about?” he demands with a sweep of his arms, half-shouting.
Tactless as ever, you think to yourself.
For a split second, you consider jumping overboard; seeking silence and solace in the bottomless sea can’t be that bad, right? But you know the swordsman would jump in and save you without hesitation—then proceed to give you even more grief than he already has.
So instead, you snap.
“Can you not be dense for—fuck, I don’t know!—five fucking seconds?” You don’t bother turning around, eyes fixed on the boundless horizon.
Your words themselves are harsh, but they don’t bother Zoro. What concerns him is the syrupy thickness of your voice, the way your throat hitches and sticks when you speak. He’s beside you in three strides, coaxing you to face him with a balmy, scarred touch. His palms span your shoulders and warm your spirit, but you don’t—you can’t—meet his silvery stare.
“Hey, look at me,” he murmurs, voice gravel. A dry, calloused thumb nudges your chin upward, your watery gaze meeting your lover’s concerned face. “What’s goin’ on? Whatever it is, ’s gonna be all right.”
Shaking your head before he finishes speaking, a fresh sob bubbles past your lips, wet and desperate. You collapse into his chest the moment his tawny arms wind around your waist, anchoring you together. You weep to the tune of his steady heartbeat and the slow lap of the sea.
The heaviness in your heart feels insurmountable—a tidal wave so strong it will drown you. Zoro rests his chin atop your head and rubs soothing patterns on your back. “I’m always here,” he whispers into your hair. “As long as you want me to be.”
I do, you want to say. I want you to be. But you don’t have to. Because the way your nails dig deeper into his flesh, the way your sorrow falls harder and dampens the fabric of his shirt—he knows.
So he holds you now and will continue to do so forever—or, at the very least, for as long as you’ll have him.
