as soon as he could, percy left the goode high school. he looked around, quickly walking past the street, and occasionally bumped into annabeth.

“hey, watch where you're going, seaweed brain,” annabeth laughed, placing her hand on his shoulder. her eyes sparkled and her smile was wide. her dark hair was braided. she wore her camp t-shirt and jeans. her clay bead necklace was on it’s place as well. she looked beautiful like that.

“hey,” he mumbled.

“how was your orientation tour?” annabeth asked, removing her hand.

“not that bad,” percy answered, smiling as well. “calling paul mr. blofis was kinda cringe, though. and what’s new at the camp?”

they talked as they went to the movies. they talked about everything: from some things related to the camp half-blood to the architecture (annabeth was the one who actually talked, percy didn’t catch a word but listened anyway) and to school. annabeth told him about the monsters she fought in the spring and about her time in san francisco. it was a normal conversation between two teenagers that were going to catch a movie and just have a cool afternoon hanging out together.

“so, what exact movie are we going to see?” annabeth asked as they stepped inside the movie theater.

“i was thinking, like, ‘spider-man: across the universe’?” percy said, looking at her and pointing to the big poster of the marvel movie.

“really?” she raised an eyebrow in a quite judging way, yet she agreed. “okay. i hope you’ve never seen it before, have you?”

“no, i didn’t,” he lied immediately. annabeth shook her head, knowing that he’s lying, and ain’t being able to hold back a smile.

she grabbed his arm by his wrist and led him to the box office. “one ticket for ‘spider-man’, please,” she said, as her hand reached for the cash she had in her pocket. she clearly wanted to pay for herself when they went to the movies together for the first time.

“two tickets,” percy pushed her a bit to the side and pulled out the credit card his mom gave him. the girl glared at him, as if she wanted to punch him in the face. unfortunately for her, percy had grown a few inches taller this year and she couldn’t look down at him.

“thanks,” percy said to the attendant before turning to annabeth and smiling. “let’s go get some snacks, huh?”

“what was that, seaweed brain?”

“i’m introducing the marvel universe to you, wise girl,” he said.

annabeth rolled her eyes. “i’ve already seen a marvel movie before, seaweed brain.”

“really? did you like it?” he said, raising his eyebrows. he was happy to hear she did see something of the mcu, but he also felt a little bad about the fact she never told him she did.

“no. though valkyrie made the whole movie better,” the girl said, smiling slightly.

“ugh come on! there were so many other marvel movies you could watch,” percy frowned slightly. “the spider-man movies are good.”

“of course they are, seaweed brain, no doubt about that,” she giggled at his voice, looking away.

“nevermind,” she said, looking at her watch. “the movie’s gonna start soon. let’s go get us some popcorn.”

“and a soda,” percy added.

a huge chunk of the pjo fandom has turned into such a superficial, judgemental and PROBLEMATIC group who defeat the purpose and point that the books were trying to make, it's so fucking atrocious. the prime example of mischaracterizing/reducing the value of characters who are already misunderstood/misjudged in canon. this fandom does this to every.single.character.ever omg

percy jackson is so relatable to many people is because he didn't have to capacity to absorb textbook knowledge but was HIGH on street smart knowledge that got him to succeed. the whole point of his character is that he had low self esteem because he was ridiculed at school by the faculty and the students for being a 'dumb' and 'useless' guy that made him think he's an inconvenience to his mom. the baggage he carried is so overlooked.

the fandom saying stuff like 'annabeth had adhd and dyslexia too but she carried percy' is so fucking disrespectful. one, she's an athena kid who's supposed to be smart that's like the whole point, and that does NOT mean percy wouldn't survive without her. he's a DIFFERENT character and he doesn't need to be a scholar to be a powerful demigod who has his own identity. stop belittling him and comparing all of their adhd/dyslexia struggles. just because annabeth is smarter does NOT mean percy has less value than her, and that whatever comes out of his mouth is just silly gibberish, which is exactly what y'all are trying to imply. no he did NOT get by with just "luck" he's smart and capable enough to actually achieve things. It isn't rocket science.

making jokes like his only purpose is to have a goofy personality and wondering how he 'pulled' annabeth is NOT cute whatsoever. just deprives him of his canon developement and fails to recognise him as an important person because he is not book smart. the level of belittlement. in a way rick also contributes to this character assassination because he added another scene of piper saying something along the lines of 'thank god annabeth is there to keep percy from going wild/doing something stupid' like no miss girl

I could go on about how the fandom infantilizes nico, brushes of hazel's flaws/traits because she's a 'smol' bean (when she literally cusses out octavian, why do y'all hate the idea of her being bold/badass when she literally is??) belittling frank's power because he's 'just an innocent goof', saying stuff like 'in my head leo is a tall guy because rick did him dirty with the height when he is so hot' that's basically implying that he loses his attractiveness because he's short and wanting to confine him into those toxic masculinity standards

slandering rachel and calling her a pick me for liking annabeth as though annabeth already had a claim over percy in BOTL when he wasn't even in a relationship and even had a small liking to rachel (belittling BOTH rachel and percy in the process, is percy not allowed to have feelings too? is he only obligated to like annabeth?), also with the fandom's clear misogyny in their treatment of nico liking percy vs rachel liking percy, go on a moral policing hunt when it comes to jason, piper and percy but goes right ahead to defend and glaze luke's behaviour to annabeth, percy and silena (also victim blaming silena because she was manipulated as a teenager by a fully grown adult who KNEW what he was doing, using her)

stubbornly not wanting to recognise jason as an important character and reducing him into a 'whiney pick me guy who wanted everything to be about himself' and that he's 'boring' not realising that his abusive environment both as a baby and as a teenager suppressed him into struggling and not being able to feel worthy to even have feelings of his own, villianizing and getting on pipers throat for calling percy unimpressive simply because she LOVED and was LOYAL to her then boyfriend?? is she not allowed to have a preference??? heck id be more concerned if she did call percy hot whilst being in a relationship wtf.

I believe fandom does not talk about Luke and Annabeth's relationship enough. I mean, plus Thalia, they had to survive together. And they were like this:

Imagine what they had gone through, being this small. I always think that baby Annabeth didn't understand many things around her, despite being so smart, she was only 7.

I hc when they left May's house, Luke was so frustrated. Thalia tried to calm him down but eventually she left him alone so he can clear his head. Annabeth probably asked Thalia why he was so upset, only understanding his father is not a good man in his eyes, just like hers. So she picked up crayons Thalia found for her in the dumpster and drew a picture just for her big brother, trying to remind him that he has a new family:

I hc Luke carried the picture for years, even though he left the camp and betrayed everyone, he still carried it. It helped him to calm down.

Little Annabeth would be upset that she had to sleep in another cabin but she got used to her new siblings. But it didn't stop her cuddling to her big brother at the campfire, as they mostly thought of Thalia, silently grieving for her.

Luke would remember how she had to hold Annabeth tight in her arms as she screamed and pounded on his chest loudly as Thalia disappeared, her battle cries turning to screams. Even silliest songs wouldn't cheer them up for a while at the campfire.

Eventually, Annabeth would start to forget a bit, still visiting Thalia's tree every day and telling her stories, but her eyes starts to shine. She finally starts laughing again, being a small kid. She would love to follow Luke around, jumping up and down as Luke just wanted some alone time.

No wonder Annabeth spend years thinking he could be redeemed. He was her hero, her big brother for years. She was in denial and even cried at the botl.

I always think, just like Percy, Luke saw Annabeth at the River Styx. But probably small Annabeth, when they first met. He probably saw her hopeful eyes and the moment they become family. At the final battle, Annabeth's tears reminded him of who he lost. At that moment, when Annabeth mentioned his promise, he saw the memory again, where he gained a sister who would love him and look up to him for years. Yet, he lost her, he lost the kid he promised to protect, he promised to love. At that moment, he realized he fucked up, he became Luke again, sacrificing himself so Kronos wouldn't kill her. He was so disappointed and terrified of what he had done after seeing the blood coming out of her mouth...

At the end, Annabeth's and Luke's bond saved the war.

Do you have any backstory headcanons for the other canon Apollo kids?

Not to the extent I did for Michael, but most of them I have at least something, yes!

Going in age order...

Will [disclaimer here that I do not consider TSATS canon; most of this contradicts the weird stuff TSATS tried to claim which didn't actually make any sense...] We know Apollo met Will's mother, Naomi Solace, in Austin, and I do headcanon that Will grew up there. Like most demigods, school wasn't fun for him, although Will was never actually in enough trouble that he got expelled - he was too much of a generally sweet kid for that, who got on well with the other kids in school. His home life was... fine. Naomi loves Will a lot, but trying to make ends meet with her music career whilst raising a son as a single mother was a lot (especially a son with ADHD and dyslexia) and Will often ended up not quite being given all the attention he needed at home.

However, we also know from canon that Will is an unusually powerful son of Apollo, so the monsters picked up on his scent much earlier than they usually do. His first attack was an entire hoard of snakes when he was seven, and with no-one else around close enough to intervene in time, Apollo snatched him away from the attack in person, before telling Naomi that it was probably time for Will to go to camp. She didn't protest, guiltily relieved that looking after Will wouldn't be on her shoulders anymore and that she could fully follow her music career again, and Will ended up at camp aged seven.

He remains a year-rounder because Naomi's career keeps her too busy to give him the attention and stability he should have, although they remain in frequent contact and Will has been known to leave camp for a weekend or even a week, occasionally, to stay with her while she's free between career commitments.

Austin Austin's mother, Latricia Lake, is a music theory lecturer (canon) who met Apollo while she was lecturing at Oberlin College (canon). I have her as being a guest lecturer, who moves around various colleges and universities on demand, which leaves her lifestyle rather an unstable one for raising a child. So instead of lugging around baby!Austin everywhere with her, Austin was mostly raised by his maternal grandparents (location not entirely certain but I'm kinda leaning towards Louisiana, maybe?) to give him a stable place to call home. He ended up at camp the same way most Apollo kids do - the snakes came crawling along and a satyr identified him as a demigod and brought him to camp. Austin got rather a nasty bite (or few) from the snakes on the way, which almost killed him, so his phobia of snakes is worse than most Apollo kids'. He arrived at camp in the period between BOTL and TLO, so he never knew Lee and was still a fresh camper for the Manhattan battle. He now stays at camp year-round because his grandparents are getting a little too old to really raise a hyperactive teenage boy, and Austin doesn't want to bring the added danger of monster attacks to them.

Kayla Kayla, as we know, has two fathers. She's one of the less common children of a male god who was birthed by their godly parent, but Apollo and Darren Knowles had several long conversations about it before she was conceived, because Apollo doesn't do the "drop random unexpected kids on partners" thing. Darren did really want a kid, though, and Apollo was more than happy to oblige. She calls Darren 'Da', while Apollo is 'Dad', and always knew that she had two fathers, and that her other father was an amazing archer. Darren kept her with him most of the time - Kayla's been around archery her entire life, has been shooting bows ever since she was big enough, and is well-known amongst the Olympic candidates in Canada, who are all eagerly awaiting her sixteenth birthday, when she can join their ranks - although they're a bit worried that now she's away at 'boarding school' in America, she's not getting as much training time (if only they knew!) She stays at camp all year because Darren's coaching career does take him across the country, and in some cases the world, to various tournaments, and it's safer and more stable for Kayla to live in one place. (Darren also tries not to let it reach her too much, but not everyone is particularly accepting of a girl with two fathers; she's also away from the bigotry in camp.) She will visit him as often as she can get away with, though!

Yan Yan is canonically from Hong Kong. As they're never given a gender in the books, to me they are nonbinary. They also don't have a canon surname, so I use 'Cheung', which has the same roots as Zhang and means archer! When they were twelve, their mother made the decision to evacuate them from Hong Kong due to the political unrest, and they went to live with a host family in England, enrolling in a local school. This was fine for a year, but then they found themselves being attacked by monsters and were forced to be displaced again, this time to Camp Half-Blood. Their host family knew nothing about them being a demigod - most of it was arranged by proxy of the mother of a kid the year below them in their London school. They later discovered that said kid was also their younger half-brother!

Jerry Jerry is a London kid (canon!). As 'Jerry' is usually a nickname, and considering the fact that he's British, I have his full name as being Jeremy (not that he ever goes by it) and gave him the surname Allen (meaning 'harmony'). Jerry's mum is a massive stress baker by the name of Gwen Allen. Her actual job is that she's a nurse - which is a stressful job, so Jerry was never short on homemade goodies as a kid! Jerry is a huge cricket fan, and grew up near Lords Cricket ground; his dream is to play for England one day. When he was twelve, he and an older kid at school were attacked by a monster and saved by the school's janitor, who was revealed to be a satyr. Jerry did not take well to the idea that he had to move to America for several years (not least because it meant he had to stop playing for the local kids' cricket teams, but also because it meant leaving his mum behind), but Gwen arranged everything with Chiron - and for Yan, too - and saw them off from Heathrow Airport. The pair of them were escorted by an adult demigod onto American soil, but unfortunately the last leg of their trip was rather eventful, culminating in the satyr guide that had picked them up at the airport being killed protecting them, and leaving both Jerry and Yan rather traumatised when they finally reached camp. The pair of them are thick as thieves.

Gracie I don't have much for Gracie yet - we know she's from Idaho, and at this point that's really all I've got, except the headcanon that she's a drum kid. Give her something to bash rhythmically and she's delighted! I'll work something out for her eventually, though! As for her name, like the rest of the TON trio we're not given one, so I gave her the surname 'Crowe' as an acknowledgement of corvids being sacred to Apollo.

(disclaimers that this is def pretty percy centric but that’s bc pjo is from his pov, i haven’t reread hoo recently enough!! and ik the first scene im mentioning is also very popular but i feel like we can always be talking about it more. this is my ramble i can do what i want)

1. for me my favorite scene in any rick riordan book will be when annabeth takes the knife for percy in TLO and then when they’re on the rooftop afterwards. she’s literally his achilles heel. he didn’t tell her where his weak spot is but she took the knife anyway. Get back no one touches her. him letting her feel the spot on his back. You’re cute when you’re worried your eyebrows get all scrunched up. sorry i’m crazy

2. when they got paired up for war games in BOTL and percy said “nice” and annabeth just said “your armor’s crooked” and fixed his straps. I think about it so often

3. annabeth sitting with percy at the poseidon table in BOTL. She was sitting next to me. i mean Right next to me. him saying he liked the fact that she broke the rules to sit w him. the other campers looking….. they’re besties your honor

4. when they’re doing the cabin inspections in TLO and annabeth is cleaning up her stuff in the athena cabin and she’s like This whole thing with beckendorf and silena makes you think about what’s important. about losing people that are important and percy short circuiting and thinking abt how he could only focus on the earrings she was wearing. i hold them in my hands

5. percy’s panic when he thought annabeth was going to go with the hunters of artemis. he literally just got her back he was so scared that he’d lose her for real this time … the way he stutters makes me spin in a circle really fast like i just love the ttc angst pushing them into realizing what they truly mean to each other

6. underrated SOM moment is after scylla and charybdis when it’s just percy and annabeth in a little lifeboat before arriving at circe’s island, and when percy snaps at annabeth and she apologizes hes like i can’t resent her we’ve been through so much together there’s no point in holding a grudge…. my babies!!! (SOM percabeth is just too underrated like to me it’s when they really start to understand each other, what makes them tick, what the other has gone through, it puts them on the same page which sets up their dynamic in the rest of the series)

7. when annabeth is passed out in SOM and they have the fleece on her and percy whispers “you’re a genius” to her because he promised to tell her that if they made it out alive 😭😭

8. percabeth in the attic in TLO getting the great prophecy and reminiscing and then locking eyes and percy remembering another time they were alone together when annabeth kissed him in mt st helens. crazy scene it’s CRAZY

9. annabeth’s reaction when percy shows up back at camp after being at calypsos island. he was the bravest person i’d ever known… he’s…. HES RIGHT THERE!! is just SO ICONIC and her hugging him so fiercely :(((( he literally crashes his own funeral and annabeth being mad at him but also clearly incredibly relieved makes my heart ache even if it’s silly. such a tragedy that we don’t get annabeths pov in pjo because i would have loved to know how she was feeling in the like two weeks where she thought percy was gone

and then there’s obvious ones like the underwater kiss, “a kiss for good luck it’s kind of a tradition right”, mt st helens, aphrodite looking like annabeth, giving up immortality, and pretty much everything percabeth in TLT i feel like is discussed so much too bc of the show lmao

Alot of things my dear friends, alot of things.

So at age 8, Leo was manipulated into starting the fire his mother died in by Gaea, just like canon. His family didn't take him in so he got into foster care. that much is also the same, but the times of running away happens faster, so that when he is eleven, he has ran away from six foster homes.

Instead of getting him into any other foster homes or wilderness school, he was forced to go to Westover Hall to learn to behave and shit like that.

In there he meet Nico and Bianca (who also got out of Lutos hotel earlier so that Nico is eleven too and Bianca is thirteen) and becomes fast friends with them.

One year passes and then Percy and Annabeth and Grover and Thalia are there for the rescue. They had went to retrieve two powerfull children of possibly big three, and they got another weirdly powerfull demigod who was not from big three too.

The events of TTC goes as it does, except after seeing Nico worry for his sister, Leo tried to sneak in the quest just to protect Bianca, and he succeeded, resulting in Bianca in fact not dying and Leo being a part of the quest.

He helps a lot but isn't capable of saving Zoë(I'm sorry). When they got back to chb, Bianca takes Leo and Nico somewhere private to talk about how she’s not gonna see them for a long while, Nico gets angry and runs away and Leo, the good best friend he is, follows him.

Then in Battle Of The Labyrinth, Leo and Nico are together all of the time, and the nice part(for me) is that Nico's happy personality doesn't get ripped away from him, he just slowly gets more closed off towards those he doesn't trust, but he's the same cute baby Percy and others met at first when he's around those he loves(especially Leo).

So Leo is also big help in BOTL, and at the end, him and Nico have to get separated a bit since Leo stays in chb and Nico goes to the Underworld.

TLO follows Leo as he fights alongside Percy and Annabeth. There's nothing else.

Then we get to TLH. Hera somehow forcefully gets Leo into Wilderness school and he couldn’t escape or be in touch with the other demigods, six months before percy's disappearance.

He couldn't escape for Hera reasons, so he instead decided to go along with it while trying to find a way out.

Then he meets Piper and sine he had nothing better to do, they become friends and then there's the paart where Jason joins.

Idk why yet, but the mist memories don't affect Leo, So when he turns he literally has an almost panic attack as he sees a new guy seating next to Piper and Piper talking to him as if she knew him for a long time.

Also fun fact, the mist memories aren't of Jason and Piper getting together and instead it's Valgrace getting together and yet, only Piper remembers.

Percy's probably the biggest people-pleaser ever, and it gets so severe that he unknowningly flirts with almost all of CHB. (Making Annabeth jealous, and then Percy would have to kiss her face whilst whispering "im yours" "im yours" to make her feel better. Because he's the best boyfriend)

I feel like Mythomagic is a big part of CHB. In the show, we see Grover teaching Percy about Monsters using these cards, and it's canon that both Nico and Frank used to play them. This leads me to being 96% sure that there's a Mythomagic trading club at CHB, (a bit like Pokemon Cards nowadays) and that Nico sometimes pops in to flex his limited edition cards. (when none of the older kids are looking, of course!)

^^ The youngsters make up rumours that Nico beats up people until they give him their special cards and thats why he has so many good ones

I feel like when Coach and Mellie go for dates, he'd entrust Percy and Annabeth to babysit Chuck. Mostly because they already babysit Estelle, and that Leo'd get too nervous; Hazel and Frank are not at CHB that often; Reyna has no experience on how to act with children, Nico's too dark and bloody (he'd probably scare Chuck with things like "did you know the bed monster is real?" or something like that.)

I kinda forgot that we've known Will since BOTL. When Nico and Will come out dating, Percabeth are ecstatic because now they're thankful for Will in more than two ways.

Coach Hedge is that one teacher that hates PDA. He also patrols around the Cabins some nights, catching demigods whom have other plans... (he's worse than the harpies.) (he also seems to patrol around Cabin 3... I wonder why).

Just watched the pjo series

Honestly, I'm loving it. The only problems i really have is Gabe and possibly Chiron?

Gabe to me in this seems not as bad as his book counterpart. Like he just sounds like a sleazy douchebag right now and not as deserving to be turned to stone.

And as for Chiron his actor choice is the only one i didnt really like. Everyone else was great he just feels....off to me

Tho that might be just cus i miss his long hair.
