hiiiiii i can’t stop thinking e being a whole Lover and it made me so curious about their family history and their relationship with both parents. i just find their character so refreshing cause they grew up with just their dad but here they are still wanting a partner they can commit to and eventually get married to and UGH i’m so in loveeee
Oo, yes! E is such a hopeless romantic. Love letters? They’ll write them. Notes around the house for you to find? They’ll definitely do. Doing the absolute most for the holidays and their lover’s birthday? Yes, yes and yes!!
They’re such a delight <3 soo I’ll leave a bunch of E facts under the cut because E’s family is my fave!
E’s dad, Javier, is Colombian and their mum, Rosalie is Canadian. E was born in Toronto, but they moved around a bit because of Javier’s footballing career and then they all moved to London when E was 9.
Surprisingly, Javier and Rosalie ended up getting a divorce when E was around 14. I say surprisingly because they definitely could’ve stayed together and even now they’ll call the other the love of their life.
Despite the divorce, Javier and Rosalie were and will always be the best co-parents! They have healthy communication, always put E first, and actually don’t mind being around each other—to the point where you wouldn’t even notice that they’re divorced.
^ I think this is where E’s love for love stems from. They know their parents are good together, hopes one day they’ll end up back together, and thinks ‘I’d love to have my own relationship like theirs, just without the breaking up part’.
If you’re to ask E who their favourite parent is, they’d say they love them both equally. But Rosalie knows it’s Javier and deep, deep down Javier knows it’s him too.
E and Javier just have the most amazing relationship. They’re super close and they’ve always been like that, and Rosalie has just accepted that because she loves E’s relationship with their dad.
Javier dad jokes like, “E, you’re my favourite, talented child.” “…I’m your only child.”
E knows Spanish fluently, they know a bit of French.
^ Rosalie always jokes that when E and Javier speak in Spanish around her they’re talking about her.
Soo, Rosalie’s back living in Canada (mostly because she misses home but also because she’s a film director and she’s directing a film over there). E regularly visits her when they can too.
And every Friday E and Javier have dinner together, and they FaceTime Rosalie so the three of them eat together.
Rosalie also being the one to encourage Javier listen to E’s explicit ‘Wild Ace’ album like, “Jav, you always support E with their music” “I do, but just because I’m not going to listen to this album doesn’t mean I don’t support them”—after a couple of months Rosalie won’t let it go so Javier has no choice.
His opinion about the album is that the songs are catchy but…yeah, explicit and not parent friendly!!
I imagine an interviewer asking E “is your wild ace era over?” and E would laugh and say yes, along with “the album was basically a retelling of all the scandals the media likes to write about me, along with me telling a few people to, uh, kindly fuck off. so, yes, the wild ace era is over…mostly for the sake of my dad’s blood pressure.”
But when E’s confidence does falter and the media does get to their head and they start overthinking, then their parents are super sensitive and motivating and they have the right words to tell them.
Javier and Rosa know about E’s occasional one night stands and sometimes Rosa will say to E, “I was married twice by your age” and E would smile and say, “and you’ve now been divorced twice, this isn’t turning out to be a good love lesson from you, is it?”
^ But they also know how much E would love to have a real relationship, so when E’s actually in a relationship and their parents know—Rosa and Javier have so many questions like “are they treating you well?” “are you happy?” “I will be pissed if they even think about breaking your heart.”

hii lovely! 💗 7, 8, 20 for the asks 🥰 (and happy alex’s birthday ✨)
Hiii, hope you're doing well, and happy Alex's birthday indeed! ❤️
7. how long have you been a fan? tell us about your journey!
Already answered that one here 🥰
8. do you have any cool arctic monkeys memorabilia or keepsakes that are meaningful to you? (eg wristbands from a show, merch you’ve bought, signed stuff, tour posters)
I have a bunch of old tees, a mug, many magazine clipouts and posters and ofc the The Car™️ air freshener 😂 I also got the little lyric booklet which I adore! Plus all the albums on CDs and vinyls.. And ofc the poster from my show, which is hanging framed in my apartment 🥰 I also saved my plane ticket for when I traveled to the show.
20. favourite record ender track?
Omg what a DIFFICULT question! First things that pop to mind are A Certain Romance and The Jeweller's Hands, both of which are genuinely some of my absolute top 5 favourite songs of theirs ever.
And then also Perfect Sense, which is so on the nose, just the perfect ending. So emotional and it hurts so good and Alex is so mean for putting that one last, he fucking knew what he was doing to us...
Thank you so much for these lovely questions, have a nice evening ❤️

Hey what are the joker out's songs you like the best ?
Hello anon <3 <3 <3
There are a few I like a lot! The first one I started learning the lyrics to was Gola, and that was purely by accident. I was just playing it on loop and suddenly realized I could sing along a little, so then I actually looked up the lyrics. It was the first song of theirs I really fell in love with.
The entire Demoni album is good, but my absolute favourites have got to be Katrina and Ne Bi Smel. The guitar riffs, the drums, the melody itself. With Kattina I intially liked the music video, which made me listen to the song more. However, the added higher end vocal lines are on point. Overall, I like the darker, heavier sound of both songs.
The one that continually wows me, though, is Metulji. The orchestral parts especially always grabs me by the emotions. How the dofferent parts blend together to create and bring out so much depth. Amazing.
Honestly, I could keep talking about their songs for a lot longer, but I think I’ll leave my absolute favourites list there. These ones are the ones I gravitate to the most.

Hi! It’s your Nancy Drew Secret Sleuth here. I am so excited to be working on your gift this year and want to make you something you’ll really love! 💖 So I had a few questions. And please feel free to give long answers with lots of explanations if you’d like!
What are some of your favorite Nothing But Thieves songs?
What about favorite settings or places? For example, do you love nature, like a beach or the woods, or do you prefer a bustling city? Or both! Any places from ND that you really like or want to see?
Can you tell me some of your favorite supernatural or mythical creatures or tropes?
Is there anything else you’d like me to know? :)
hiiii little secret sleuth!!! hope you're doing well! ♥️ so excited to hear from you and i'm sure i'll love whatever you'll come up with! so, let's see:
absolutely favourite song of theirs right now is "free if we want it" (like, never skip, put it on repeat whenever possible favourite), closely followed by "impossible", "amsterdam" and "particles". i seriously enjoy almost all of their songs so much, i can highly recommend all of their albums.
i'm with my boy ace, "the woods, they speak to me". like, if i had to choose, i'd always choose woods (i wouldn't call myself an outdoor person—like, i do not like camping—but i really enjoy a walk through the woods). although i do live in a bustling city and i do see the appeal and i love visiting and exploring different cities, too. places from the show i like the most: the claw (of course, it's just home) and nancy's house because they feel the most lived in. would've loved to see more of ace's apartment (for reasons 😏) and i do find icarus hall intriguing but damn, it just feels so expensive and also confusing (layout wise) and also hard to get cozy in there.
at the risk of sounding very basic, i do love the concept of ghosts and mermaids the most. most fascinating mythical creature as a concept is medusa though. (from the show, the wraith was my favourite.) as for tropes, that's a hard one—i really loved that the show did a variant of the sex pollen trope, also the truth serum (although ace wasn't around). i guess i'm kind of a sucker for character's having to confront their feelings for each other under dubious circumstances. 😂
i just really, really love Them™️:
i came late to the show but just constantly seeing gifs of nancy and ace on my dash made me so excited to finally give it a chance and i wasn't disappointed. (and actually watching the last episodes of s4 live was really nice as well. i didn't have that experience with a show for quite a long time.)
so, i hope any of this made sense. thanks so much for all your questions!!! ♥️

Any more microtonal music recommendations? I'd rather get recs than hop blindly into the youtube unknown lol
YES, of course! I'm so glad you asked since now I have an excuse to share here more of my micro-obsession
Little disclaimer - at first most people find it absolutely unlistenable and some even find it deeply disturbing, but it's only because they are not used to it. It takes time
So it might be reasonable to start with
"King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard" - this is Australian indie rock band that often uses microtonal instruments for their music -- not all of it, but enough to be a good starting point to get used to some of it. I'd start with "Nonagon Infinity" - this album is FIRE, and the cool thing about it is that every song of this album flows flawlessly into the next one, and the last one flows almost flawlessly into the first one if you listen to them on loop. Other album I'd recommend is "Flying Microtonal Banana", and one specific song that I was absolutely obsessed with that I also want to link is Crumbling Castle This band is where microtonality is mixed within familiar type of music, so it feels comfortable and familiar and not intimidating
Okay, moving on to other microtonal examples on the beginner-friendly side
I remember really liking this one in 19EDO, here it's really gentle microtonality, just enough of it to be noticeable without overwhelming someone who'd listen to it for the first time. Also perfect example of how microtonal music can convey the kind of mood that would be impossible in 12EDO
Next, this one is really nice, and it's a pity there's not much more from this musician as I find it adorable.
Brendan Byrnes - Cave Dance I just realised I completely forgot that he exists, I only remember that this songs slaps, should probably dive into his discography myself
Now getting closer to my absolute faves - Xotla and Sevish. All of my following recommendations are just individual songs and albums of theirs. Xotla is probably more beginner-friendly, so I'll start with his songs
Xotla - Surprise me This was the song that made me obsessed with microtonality, here is where it started. I remember listening it on repeat just because 4:15 <-- MY GOD I can't even describe how amazing this place felt when I listened to it for the first ten times or so
Xotla - No Longer 2:50 ❤️
Xotla - Cosmic Microwave pure goosebumps the first listening
Xotla - Dance of the Forest Lights (Reimagined) - the new version of this song. I love both of them
Xotla - Robots Dream To Dance absolute bop
Xotla - Sipping Tea By The Sea already familiar to you, It's from "Seeds of Moonlight" album. If you liked this song maybe you should check out the rest of the album. My favourites from this album (other than that): Metallic Lilypads and Losing Connections. Although this album is not my favourite.
Okay, I realised maybe I should just recommend albums. All of them (except Planting Seeds of Microtones, it sounds too much like pop music and it's not the Xotla I love), my favourite is Science Fraction
Lastly in regards to Xotla I wanna note Funkrotonal (0:56 !!!)
Also Between Space (3:24 !)
Okay, now I'll link THE WHOLE SEVISH DISCOGRAPHY (no, but really)
But really, this is the most important place of this post
SEVISH
SEVISH
SEVISH
SEVISH
Sevish is the kind of microtonality that you probably shouldn't jump on when you're just getting used to microtones, because this is where most of my irls noped immediately. But if you're ready and your heart is open, his music is literally out of this world
Sevish - Outside (!!!!) - this is where my head exploded when I listened to it for the first time. The moment I realised that microtonal harmony is absolutely unearthly GEORGEOUS
Sevish - Better Left Unanswered - more of absolutely gorgeous microtonality
Sevish - Gleam - if you're using tiktok there's a possibility that you've actually heard this one, it was trending at some point. The moment from 0:50 specifically
Sevish - Horizons - I just want to leave here this comment that was written under this song on youtube:
Here I'll just link the whole Morphable album - I listened to it more times than I could count, but here are some songs from it that I like more than others:
Tritavium (absolute insane percussion at 1:17, I'm not normal about it at all)
Launch (1:29 is 🤌✨😩)
Smashing, actually damn I can just link every single song from this album, they're all uniquely amazing
Songs from other albums
Sevish - Freathy the end of this one is heaven-like (3:12) and I mean it, it's like church-choir
Sevish - Desert Island Rain - this was one of the first I listened by sevish and it scratched my brain in a way no other song ever did, also 4:34 here is a completely different vibe. This is also the song I tried to show to my irls that made them make such a face expression as if they're in physical pain. Well, definitely not the best one to familiarize anyone with microtonality, as this one is amazing if you're ready, otherwise it's miserable
Also check out "Formless Shadows" album if you love ambient
Damn
I LOVE microtonal music
I got so used to it that when I now listen to usual 12EDO it feels like something is missing

So I just ordered myself some Gerard Manley Hopkins and my plan is to combine it with some mcr so I can call this my Gerard era but mcr is so Big and I am so Small I need like 5 songs at a time to digest so this is my humble request for 5 songs beyond How it’s Going To Be and I Am Not Afraid To Keep On Living Etc whose name I always forget. Is it Danger Days you love? Where do I start bestie halp
KHSDBHDSFSDA GERARD ERA ok!!! yes I am a danger days girlie I would definitely recommend that and the conventional weapons singles to start with (especially as they're less shouty and have more of a pop sound sometimes, so I found it easier to listen to them from the start). Normally I have a whole spiel, danger days was their last album and it was a major tonal shift so a lot of people hated it (not me because I have taste), Black Parade is probably their best album, it's a concept album about a man dying from cancer so it's probably best to listen all the way through, and then their earlier two albums are good but I had to sit with them, they took me more time to love. But if you want five specific recommendations!!!!!
Summertime - this is cheating because I know you've listened already to it but consider it's my favourite song!!! Find a way in the dark and out of harm babey!!! (also written about Gerard's actual wife so once again we see that wife-guy songs are just the absolute best)
The Only Hope for Me is You/Save Yourself, I'll Hold Them Back - this is also cheating because it's two songs but I always group them together. They're both Danger Days and the whole thing about this album is it's about how there's so much suffering and opposition but there's also love!!! and it's so important it's more important!!! And both these songs say it so much!!!!!
I don't know if you've actually listened to Welcome to the Black Parade itself, I feel you may have and I just forgot. If not, yes it's overplayed and a meme but consider!!! Though you're dead and gone believe me your memory will carry on!!! defiant to the end we hear the call!!! Also if you HAVE already listened to it listen to Disenchanted my beloved, the second-last song on the Black Parade album, truly changed my life in an indescribable way!!!
I Don't Love You is an underrated masterpiece and the thing is there isn't even a huge bridge in this but there is a turn and it's just *chef's kiss*
The World is Ugly/The Light Behind Your Eyes - I am politely asking mcr to write more love songs because they're so good and it and have only written like. four.
Bonuses!!! Because I'm annoying!!! Desert Song changed the game! changed my life! people died!!! Also Fake Your Death is the last song they released before the breakup and it's so good, and Planetary Go was the first song of theirs I truly loved. Also SCARECROW is a bop truly!!!
Alright that was way more than 5 but I hope it narrows it down a bit!!! Truly all the songs of the century!!! I'm so excited about your Gerard Era!!!
OH also the entire Hesitant Alien album means so so so much to me, I couldn't divide it down so if you ever felt like some solo Gerard I'd say listen to that, but he also wrote Baby You're A Haunted House which is unexpectedly wonderful.

Hii Jeri !! I’m trying to get into The Rose, (if memory serves I’m p sure you listen to them? Feel free to ignore if not 😊) what album/s would you recommend? 🥰💕 - @juiceofmoons 💙
Hiii Rena my love! ❤ Sorry I'm only getting to this now, I've been napping haha. I adore the The Rose! I'd consider them the only other K(pop)Band I "stan"! They only have one Full Album which is their newest, it's called HEAL, and it's a masterpiece! I'm going to recommend my favourite tracks because of this; though HEAL itself is an absolutely amazing album - the album is full of pretty emotional songs that go through the motions of, well... Healing. My favourite tracks from HEAL are; See-Saw (I'd recommend having tissues near lol), Shift & Cure. Their older stuff is all from Mini Albums; Void (their first) and Dawn. From Void I absolutely adore Sorry & I.LY. And from Dawn; Take Me Down & She's In The Rain. For singles; RED (omg this song is my all-time favourite of theirs and I hearing this live was a dream come true!) & Beauty & The Beast. And for OST's; With You & Strangers are beautiful - And Woosung has a few amazing solo OST's; Feel My Heart, You are my Star & Wanna Be Bad being my favs ❤ I also highly recommend checking out this, their live cover of ILYSB because it's just one of the most beautiful covers. I could ramble on about them forever, they mean just as much to me as SKZ do, if I'm totally honest! I found them both during the same difficult time in my life and both groups helped me through it.

PARAMORE (OPENING FOR THE ERAS TOUR)
16.08.2024 @ Wembley Stadium, London (92,000 Capacity)
Written Oct 2024
Paramore are absolute icons in the music industry, Starting out as a pop-punk band from Tennessee in 2004 with their debut album, the band has grown into an international favourite, experimenting into multiple other genres such as new wave/synth-pop in 2017 with their 5th album ‘After Laughter’ and post-punk/alternative in 2023 with their 6th album ‘This Is Why’. Williams & Taylor Swift have been friends for years, since both of their careers started (almost), and have stayed so throughout their crazy careers (Williams was featured on a Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) Bonus Track) so sharing a stage must be pretty special to them as well as their shared fans.
It was phenomenal to see one of my favourite bands of all time opening for one of my favourite artists of all time. As I'd seen Taylor before, I think I was a little more excited to see them than her. We missed out on tickets for their last UK tour back in 2023, but I now know that I won’t be making that mistake again! Seeing ‘Misery Business’ live was mind-blowing, and a truly amazing experience I’ll never forget. One of my favourite songs of theirs is a more acoustic-feeling rock ballad called ‘The only exception’. When the band played it, it was focused on Hayley & Taylor York (the band’s guitarist, and Hayley’s boyfriend) at the end of the catwalk with just her and his acoustic guitar, and it was a special moment that you can tell meant so much to them and everyone else in the stadium that knows how long it took for them to get here.
I also love that they kept their setlist like Taylor Swift’s and played songs from all/most of their albums, especially as they were an opener. It was a real fan-service to those (like us) who had never seen them live before, despite being huge fans for a long time. Similarly to Swift, Paramore also had a surprise song within their set that they changed out/rotated every night - we got ‘Crave’ which is one of my favourites off of ‘This Is Why’ and it’s one that really shows off Hayley’s unique and insane vocal talent.
Paramore really were the perfect opener for this tour, they’re pros in the music industry, they know what they’re doing. My only regret was not going to see them sooner. Their songs are well-known in the general public enough to hype up the crowd, but still remain a special set for those that are fans.

4, 5, 12, 13, 48? :)
48. Who’s an artist you think it’s criminally underrated and deserves more recognition?
Not a single artist per say, but Home Free as an entire group I would say are. They're an acapella group who are country, they have some pretty incredible song writers within the group. I enjoy their original music more than their covers, and their covers are incredible. Tim Foust; the bass singer of the group has written the hilarious song Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget. And I don't remember which one of them wrote it, but on their mostly original album Dive Bar Saints, my absolute favourite song of theirs is Catch Me if You Can. They have some original Christmas music that's fun too, like Full of Cheer and Cold Hard Cash. Both are rather funny, and Cold Hard Cash is extremely catchy.
13. Who’s the most popular/mainstream artist you listen to?
Perhaps Shania Twain. Unless we go even further back, but Shania is probably the most frequent and broadest of who's music I listen to. (But none of her stuff newer than her album Now. I don't really care for her newer stuff.)
12. Who’s the most obscure artist you listen to?
It might be Home Free. Maybe Colter Wall, but I don't listen to him a lot. Home Free is probably more accurate.
5. Is there a song you don't like but like its music video?
Probably Safe and Sound by Capital Cities. The song annoys me greatly for some reason. Mainly the refrain of safe and sound throughout the song. My annoyance does feel a little irrational, but it's there. The music video is more enjoyable than the song, but still not my favourite.
4. Is there a song you love but don't like its music video?
There's always the possibility of one being out there, but I wouldn't be able to tell you at this moment.
#hopefully the links to the different home free songs will work#even if you don't like country you should give them a try I really think that they're that amazing#they have so many incredible songs and even just talking about them made me have to listen to catch me if you can again#Colter Wall has this incredible voice that's nearly reminiscent of Jonny Cash in some ways#just this sort of raspy older voice though he's younger than me#and he's a relatively local boy#his dad used to be my province's premier#I don't listen to a lot of newer music more of the oldies

Weekend Top Ten #576
Top Ten Years for Music
Yeah I’m doing it again, and this was the hardest one to do. Because generally speaking I don’t really associate music with the year it came out. Almost all of the time I come to it a lot later – which is why there are hardly any recent years on this list. I’ll probably be into a half-dozen songs from 2022 in fifteen years.
Music, to me, was always a background thing. I never had a desire to seek it out or find out what I was into in the same way I’ve always wanted to know more about film. And as such, when I became a bit older, I felt very out of touch and ill-informed by what music was around. The first CDs I ever bought were soundtrack albums because I just didn’t know what bands I liked, and by then I was also infected by the teenage need to like the right bands. What if I accidentally bought something by someone who wasn’t cool? Or if I mentioned liking them but then exposed how I only liked them because I liked that one song of theirs that was in a Curly Wurly ad or something?
Despite this, we’re still going to see a whole lot of nostalgia on this list. Is it always the case that the music that really resonates is the music you listen to in your teenage years? Even if – like me – you weren’t going to concerts or buying tons of CDs, the music permeates your social consciousness from the radio, from hearing it played in stores, from seeing the artists on TV, and from your friends talking about it. I didn’t own a Blur CD until 1999 and I don’t think I’ve owned one by Oasis, but I could have explained the broad strokes of their music and their rivalry back when Country House and Roll With It released in the same week. So it all sticks and it becomes part of your DNA, the soundtrack to whatever dumb crap you were doing at the time.
Anyway, enough wallowing in the Our Price of history: let’s just look at the years of my life that I thought had the best music. And, yes, this is the most subjective because I think of all things, maybe music is the most subjective? So it’s stuff I liked. You don’t like it? Get your own blog, they’re free!
1984: yes! Seriously! 1984 continues to be one of the best years of all time. If it’s not enough that films like Terminator and shows like Transformers and comics like Turtles all came out, you’ve got the debut albums of both Bon Jovi and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – I mean, come on. Queen’s The Works gave us songs like Radio Ga Ga and I Want to Break Free. Prince made Purple Rain. Springsteen released Born in the U.S.A., for cryin’ out loud! Dancing in the Dark, people! We had Spinal Tap! And speaking of movies, Ghostbusters! I mean, can you imagine? Flippin’ ‘eck, what a year.
1997: it’s tough to single out one year from the nineties, because there’s a period – ’93-’98 really – that’s just chock-full of absolute iconic bangers for me. But this is probably tip-top. We’ve got one of Nick Cave’s best, most soulful albums, in Boatman’s Call, which features possibly my favourite song – Into My Arms. Foo Fighters’ The Colour and the Shape, Radiohead’s OK Computer, Savage Garden’s, er, Savage Garden. Robbie Williams – love him or hate him – did release two of his best songs, Let Me Entertain You and Angels. And a personal favourite of mine was Del Amitri’s Don’t Come Home Too Soon, the best song ever about football.
2016: woah, we’re getting right up to date here! Can you believe it?! But it was a cracker, despite Trump and Brexit and everything else that was happening. Both Bowie and Leonard Cohen released their final albums, and in a way delivered their own epitaphs with Blackstar and especially You Want it Darker, the latter of which is an absolute masterpiece. “I’m leaving the table, I’m out of the game”, for goodness’ sake. If you really want it dark, Nick Cave’s Skeleton Tree was haunting beautiful but also a wail of absolute grief; “They told us our gods would outlive us but they lied”. Slightly cheerier was Foreverland by Divine Comedy, with its propulsive revolutionary undertones and superheroic love songs. And rocketing right to the other end of the scale from all the mournful ballads was Lonely Island’s soundtrack to Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. Is Finest Girl the funniest song of all time?
1996: yep, back to the nineties, and back to the Bad Seeds (Murder Ballads, which includes Cave’s famous duet with Kylie) and back to Divine Comedy (Casanova). Almost defnining my mid-teens, we had the Manics’ Everything Must Go and Spiders by Space, as well as the debut album from the Aquabats. Probably one of the most seminal releases – certainly for me at the time – was the soundtrack to Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet, featuring possibly my favourite song of the year, the Cardigans’ Lovefool. What else? Well we had two other big debuts: the Spice Girls and Eminem. What more could you want?
1993: still in the nineties and it’s back to another perennial year for me: ’93, the year of Jurassic Park and, well, tons of other stuff. Check out m other lists. Anyway, musically we had Bat out of Hell 2, which was nice as I wasn’t born when the first one came out. He’d do anything for love, y’know, but he won’t do that. Radiohead’s Pablo Honey gave us Creep, my favourite of theirs, because I’m basic. Crash Test Dummies released Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm, a weird delight. We also got 500 Miles, Loser by Beck, Insane in the Brain – which everyone my age was singing in 1993 – and sort of Whitney’s I Will Always Love You, which technically released at the end of ’92 but dominated the early part of the year and was ‘93’s biggest song.
1995: sticking with the mid-nineties and it’s another belter. Alright by Supergrass; These Days by Bon Jovi; the Foo Fighters’ eponymous debut; The Bends by Radiohead. I could go on. And I shall! One of my favourite albums, Different Class by Pulp, gave us some corking class-warfare ballads like Common People. And, yes, it was Britpop’s holy year, with the Blur/Oasis clash and the release of both What’s the Story (Morning Glory) and The Great Escape. Quite possibly my favourite song of the year – sorry, Jarvis – was Alanis Morrisette’s You Oughta Know from Jagged Little Pill, one hell of an angry tune and my generation’s equivalent to The Winner Takes it All. But with a bit more swearing.
1982: right back as far as we can go in my lifetime, really, and it all starts off so well. Madonna’s first album! Bloody hell! And Jacko’s Thriller! Scary stuff. That alone could get it rocketing up the charts, but we also have one of my favourite Bruce Springsteen songs, Highway Patrolman, even if (whisper it) I kinda prefer the Johnny Cash version. Also there was Iron Maiden’s Number of the Beast (spoiler alert: it’s 666), and Billy Joel’s Nylon Curtain, giving us tracks like Allentown and the phenomenal Goodnight Saigon. And – yes – Survivor’s Eye of the Tiger.
1998: another all-round classic year – Half-Life came out and I started going out with my wife – and the music wasn’t bad either. Space’s Tin Planet featured The Ballad of Tom Jones; we had Torn, Bittersweet Symphony, and You’re Still the One, just a bunch of stone-cold hits. Evanescence’s debt album provided turn-of-the-millennium action movies with great songs to cut scenes to. The Divine Comedy’s Fin de Siècle had some of the tracks that really drew my attention to the band. The hilarious One Week was a fast-paced good-natured highlight of a song, but let’s wrap up by lifting a glass to a genius movie ballad, Aerosmith’s I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing. I could stay awake just to hear them singing.
2002: another good year for Robbie, with probably – aw hell, definitely – his best album, Escapology, which has his two best songs (for me): Monsoon and Come Undone. Flight of the Conchords’ first album had so many all-time hilarious songs I don’t know where to begin. A Rush of Blood to the Head is my favourite Coldplay album, largely because of The Scientist. Avril Lavigne’s debut album was released, giving us both Complicated and Sk8ter Boi, and holy cats, can you get more millennial? But musically I have to say the year belongs to Johnny Cash and The Man Comes Around, an album full of incredible, emotional, resonant songs – including, of course, his cover of Hurt.
1994: Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds’ Let Love In gave us a lot of tremendous songs (including the haunting and disturbing two-part Do You Love Me) but really it should be known most for Red Right Hand, one of the biggest and most important songs of my life (I first heard in The X-Files!). Also there’s Green Day’s Basket Case, Blur’s Parklife (in both cases the first albums I had from both bands), and the biggest song of the year, Wet Wet Wet’s Love is All Around. It really was everywhere I go in ’94. Sticking with movies for a bit, two of the best soundtracks of my life: Pulp Fiction and The Lion King. Yes, musicals absolutely do count; maybe I should have tried to look them up in a bit more detail. Too late now!
I very, very nearly had 2006 in there at the end instead of another nineties number, but despite a few good tracks that year I ultimately decided I was letting the sheer cosmic weight of Arctic Monkeys’ debut lift the year up too high. I’ve always tried to find a good balanced spread when doing this and not stick a year in there just because there’s one or even two things I like, and ultimately the epoch-shifting excellence of I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor was not enough to champion the whole year. But I’m mentioning it now, in dispatches, so to speak, because it’s still probably the most exciting and impressive debut of my life.

news of the world is great too, god they just have so many albums of back to back really good songs haha
i've actually just been getting into ELO!!!! i knew quite a lot of the hits but i finally got round to listening to out of the blue, i can really see how there would be a crossover of ELO and queen fans hahaha. i feel like they're one of those bands where their best known song is like, good but not their *best*. because i know they're both well known but livin' thing goes harder than mr blue sky 👀
oh my god you have TASTE!! i keep meaning to get into Duran Duran more as well (because john taylor is a beautiful man..) and i adore ABBA, what's your favourite of theirs?
post about the hair bands!! what hair bands are you into?!!
for me my allllll time favourite band is Thin Lizzy and some of the members' solo stuff and other projects, I really love The Kinks, love a-ha, i'm kind of the same in that my taste is a bit all over the place and from so many decades hahaha
not to change the subject after this essay of an anon but it *IS* secret santa and i've been putting up my first christmas decorations so i have to ask, do you have a favourite christmas song?
-🤘🎅
Out of The Blue is an excellent album! So many good songs!
And yes you're so right about John he is gorgeous, the whole band honestly has charm, they're all pretty cute in their own ways 💖 I mean seriously?!
I'm still listening through their catalog, but definitely listen to their first two albums, Duran Duran (their self titled) and Rio, they're both fantastic!
As far as ABBA goes I'd say Knowing Me, Knowing You is probably one of my absolute favorites. The guitar between the chorus is just *chef's kiss*
I think your the first person I've met on here to mention Thin Lizzy as a favorite! I've not checked them out too too much, but I do like the song Romeo And The Lonely Girl.
Anyways... Hair bands! Yes! I'm pretty partial to Motley Crue because of my mom, that was one of her favorite bands growing up. Idk if KISS counts but I like a good selection of their hits, a little sprinkling of Def Leppard, Cinderella (a pretty underrated band), Skid Row (I know a couple of these aren't technically hair metal, but they get lumped together a lot)
A-ha is on my list to check out! What songs/albums would you recommend?
As far as Christmas songs Idk if I have a favorite, but I lean towards the oldies, like crooner music lol. I really like Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin's Christmas stuff. How about you?

It was the day of the concert. You had been listening to the 4NEMO music that your friend had been recommending you and had gotten quite familiar with it. Now, you were dressed in your favourite outfit, ready to attend the concert with your best friend. It was two hours before the concert started, but Venti advised you to come early so you and your friend could hang out with them and watch them warm-up. 4NEMO had gotten closer to you in the time before the concert. The boys texted you constantly and you got attached, welcoming them into your tight little circle of trust. You even all had a group chat with just you and the boys. They proved to be a pleasant way for you to blow off steam from your classes and relax so you welcomed them. Just a week after you all had met, 4NEMO had a new hit album called "Coffee Dream". It had become your new favourite album from them, containing all of the things you loved in music. Almost as though it was made with you in mind. You even set your ringtone to the instrumental of one of the album's songs. A beep resounded from your phone as you looked yourself over in the mirror. A text from Venti, " Hey cutie, just wondering if you need a ride to the concert, I'd be happy to give you a ride!" The nickname 'Cutie' had been something that sort of just happened, no inside joke, just Venti teasing you. You smile and chuckle a bit then answer him. "Yeah sure, I'm already ready so you can come now and I'm sure that they're ready too so you can pick us up now." Five minutes later you received another text telling you that Venti was now at your apartment. Making sure to fix your hair, you went outside. Outside was a black limousine waiting for you. "Get in, cutie! The others are starting warmups!" Venti called to you as you got in the limo, admiring the interior of the vehicle. Vent pulled you to his side, thighs touching. You were confused at his actions but then Venti slung his arm around your shoulder and explained. "Well we've got to make sense for your friend, right? Ehe." He giggled at the end. In return, you shrugged but it did make sense so you didn't mind. Plus, this was Venti, he's always like this. Once you got to your friend's house you saw them with a 4NEMO glow stick in hand and wearing a 4NEMO tee with the group's logo on it. "Hey, bestie! And Venti!" You laughed at the stupid nickname and replied. "Ok, you know you are my best friend and I love you platonically, and that I would die for you if necessary, but do not call me bestie. You can call me anything else, hell I'd even prefer if you called me your 'stupid butt-kicking partner in arson,' than whatever that was. Now, let's pretend that never happened and erase that from our memories. 'Kay?" This was just harmless teasing as you two had done much more stupid things and had many more inside jokes that no one except for you two knew about. "Aye aye, captain!" You talked about random subjects as the car ride went on. And Venti held onto you the whole way, almost as if he thought you might disappear. Maybe even a bit more than usual. Once you got to where the concert would take place, Venti escorted you both to the private room where the boys were practicing. "Hey, guys, I brought a little something!" Venti called to the other 4NEMO members, a hand on your shoulder tugging you to him. All the group looked up from what they were doing. From Kazuha trying out different chords on the electronic piano to xiao going over some dance moves that you hadn't seen yet, to Aether doing vocal exercises. Aether and Kazuha meeting you with soft smiles. Xiao looking away from you after he met your eyes. "So that's what you went off to do, and I almost thought you were trying to skip out on practice." Xiao retorted. "Well it is nice to have you here with us, and you too." Aether addressed you and your friend. It was surprisingly relaxing watching them warm-up for the concert. The practice was flawless, clear that everyone had already gotten everything down to the most minuscule detail. "4NEMO, you ready? Shows about to
begin." One of their workers called, you fairly remember her name being Rika or something along those lines. The boys nodded already dressed in their beautiful yet casual costumes. "Wooh! Go 4NEMO!" You called to them as you and your friend headed for where the audience had already situated itself. (On the other side) That past week, they had been almost three times more productive with you as their inspiration. Starting and releasing a new album dedicated to you in just a week. With you on their brains, inspiration was abundant. They were more devoted to you than even some of their superfans, Kazuha even stalking your social media in secret so he could make sure that his next compositions were to your taste. 4NEMO had been trying to express their love for you in the clearest yet unsuspicious way they could. Even referencing the day you met with the album. Nevertheless, you seemed to be only interested in friendship. No matter, everything would go their way in the end. Venti had put in so much effort to have you by his side, even if it was for just before the concert. Having to sneak away from the group without being noticed to go get you, paying the limo driver extra as he was only supposed to have driven 4NEMO there. Even holding back what we wanted to say to make you ditch that lousy friend of yours. Just for you to voice your feelings of devotion for them while he was in the same car!? So oblivious, so innocent, he had to protect you. The other boys were also surprised to see you but welcomed your presence. They all thought you would only show up at the concert, not before. But they all loved to indulge in you, so no one really minded Venti's little stunt. 4NEMO appeared on the stage. Smiling at the crowd with meaningless movie star smiles. At everyone except for you of course. All their eyes scoured the crowd for you, happy to see that you were close to the stage. Close enough, to tempt them into pulling you up to be with them. But, they had an image to uphold. So they held off on the longing looks at you and just focused on impressing you. "Hey, guys! Who's ready for a 4NEMO concert!?" Aether grinned and asked the crowd? The audience wooed back, even you, something the boys genuinely smiled at. "Well then, we've ought to get this party started!" Venti cried as the first song started. The boys knew that this had been your first concert as you preferred more quiet, secluded ways to spend your time while your friend was the one dragging you to interact with the outside world. And they were determined to make it special. Make this day the one that makes you as head over heels in love with them as they are. They started with a fast fan favourite, the one that you had as your ringtone. The one they created as a way to only express a fraction of the passion they felt for you. Xiao moved beautifully and elegantly as he sang. Venti hit a flawless high note that even most female singers couldn't reach. Kazuha harmonized with them in such a beautiful way that it could take one's breath away, rapping clearly and rapidly. Aether was the one who pulled it all together, he was the leader after all. 4NEMO was pleased to find that you were enjoying the change of environment. Moving your head and singing along with some of the songs you knew. Just one small problem. Though it was an irritation, the boys kept up in the perfect way only they could achieve. The problem was that you just had to bring your friend with you, Venti told the others what he had heard in the car, about how you would even die for them. And they just had to separate you two, it was too much jealousy to handle. It drove them even further, made them crave your praise even more. Even just a small compliment would suffice. So they worked their hardest at this concert. Making sure you have the time of your life. The concert was finally over and now you could be reunited with the boys. They swarmed around you once you had arrived at their private room. Asking you how the experience was and was delighted that you said that it was "absolutely
surreal" and that you loved it. It might not have been a direct 'I love you.' But it would work for now. Though they couldn't be with you in public due to their status, they would still have you. They would still make you theirs. They would remove anyone to make that happen. And it seemed like your friend was going to be the first.

“You wanna come over tonight?” Liam asked me as we were walking out of the sixth form building. “Our kids coming to pick us up so was wondering if you wanted to come with.”
“Yeah alright.” I nodded, linking my arm with Liam as we walked out of the gates together. Going over to the Gallagher residence wasn’t an uncommon matter, if anything I was over at theirs at least once a week. Since their father had left the environment was always pleasant, his mum always cooking the best, most delicious meals which caused your body to crave it again each and every day until you returned back for dinner once again. As well as that, being able to spend time with Liam was always an enjoyable experience - him being my best friend since first joining the college, we hadn’t been able to separate ourselves from each other since. Of course, we would have different friends, different groups, but we always turned back to each other - something that I adored most about our relationship; we didn’t constantly need to be with one another to consider each other our best friend. Whenever I was over we would relax in his room, talking about practically everything and everything, sometimes smoking a joint by his window to prevent his mum finding out, even though the stench of it would stick to our clothes like glue - giving it away instantaneously.
After exiting the school gates, we walked for a bit until we reached the nearest neighbourhood of houses, where Noel said he would pick Liam up. To waste the time, Liam brought out a spliff from his pocket, placing it between his lips, then lighting it, him failing a couple times to get the lighter to produce a flame. “Give me a hit,” I said, watching Liam as he quickly inhaled the roll of weed, then passing it to me, a wave of smoke hitting my face from Liam’s mouth. “Stop that you twat.”
There was hardly anybody outside, from the look of the area, merely just the occasional car whizzing past us, causing the empyrean of smoke discarded from our throats to diffuse into the atmosphere. It produced a clear contrast against the skies, which had little to no clouds visible at all. Having a clear, sunny day in Manchester wasn’t something ordinary; it was a rarity, but for the past year the weather had been brilliant, though brilliant becomes unlivable when the temperature continues to increase to the thirties, celsius wise. That’s when the nature of constant traffic, crowded streets and lengthy queues at the ice cream machine disperse into their homes - the sun being too strong it becomes a chore to leave the house. Having the world so silent, hushed, brings another kind of tranquillity to the mind. Watching an inanimate street fixated in the same position, as if it were a ghost-town, encompasses that feeling of being the only person present in the world at that moment, which makes you realise that the life you live is not lead to be controlled of dictated by others - it is yours, and it is something in which you hold complete control over.
After a couple minutes of small talk shared between me and Liam, a small car drove past us, stopping promptly as the windows rolled down, indicating that it was Noel. Me and Liam quickly rushed out of the sun that was beaming down at us, to get inside his car; Liam hopping in the passenger seat next to his brother whilst I occupied the middle seat in the back. “Hi Noel.” I said softly, smiling at him through the rear view mirror, our eyes connecting for a short second whilst he greeted me back, then turning to greet Liam before taking off. Mine and Noel’s relationship wasn’t anything special: we spoke here and there, but since he usually was occupied by hanging out with friends, or travelling as a groupie for Inspiral Carpets, we never conversed much. It was a mere relationship formulated from my closeness with Liam, as manners are important - even if Liam shows the opposite. I was quite intrigued by Noel disregarding his conventional absences; he seemed to lead a life which was exciting and alluring, and was a complete contrast against Liam’s persona from what I had noticed. Liam was more into sports, mainly football, and causing havoc wherever he could (me constantly joining him since he knew how to have an absolute good time), whilst Noel seemed completely consumed by music and the wonders of working with bands. Regardless, they shared some idiosyncrasies, one thing in particular definitely being their love for weed.
Once we arrived at the house, we were greeted by Liam’s mum, who welcomed me in lovingly. “Always a pleasure to have you over, Y/N,” she said as I broke away from the embrace we shared to allow me to take off my shoes. “Liam, I'm going to need you to help me in the kitchen today.” she then said to Liam, whose face then dropped in complete annoyance.
“Why?” he moaned in response, sighing at his mum whilst removing his shoes. “Y/N’s literally here!”
“Maybe because you haven’t done the washing up for over a week, Liam,” she responded, turning her gaze to look at me, rolling her eyes at his demeanour. “Y/N’s not going anywhere, it won’t take you a year.”
After we were able to get Liam to do his chores, I told him that I would be waiting upstairs for him, in his and Noel’s room. Once I went inside, I wandered around the medium-sized room, finding my way over to Noel’s side, especially fixated on the stack of records that he had owned, aligned by the table next to the record player. He had all sorts of bands; the Beatles, the Who, the Smiths, Sex Pistols... All the best artists. The more and more I found out about him the interest I had about him increased. He seemed like a cool older brother to have, and share a room with, even though Liam sees boys in bands quite odd - which is humorous, since he’s practically an entity of his own. Proceeding to pick up a vinyl by the Smiths, the album in particular being the Queen is Dead, I admired the cover whilst grasping it in my palms. The Smiths were the only band that seemed to use the most aimless, but oddy aesthetic images of random men as their album covers - most likely courtesy of Morrissey’s desires - though I suppose is one element which creates the artistic composition of the band, and their music. Snapping me out of the trance I was consumed in, a voice echoed in the room, one which was definitely not Liam’s. “Like what you see?”
Turning around to find out who it was, I was accosted by the sight of Noel, who was holding a warm mug of tea. Flustered, I placed the vinyl back in the stack before taking a seat on Liam’s bed. “Sorry,” I mumbled, looking at Noel whilst playing with my fingers in my lap.
View stuck on him, I watched him walk to his bedside table, placing his mug of tea on the coaster, then reaching out to grab the vinyl that was once embraced by my palms. “You like the Smiths?” he asked, his eyes now connecting to my gaze.
“Yeah I do,” I said, smiling slightly at his question. “That’s my favourite album of theirs actually.”
“Didn’t expect that from you,” He replied back, taking a sip from his mug of tea before taking the vinyl out of its sleeve and placing it on the record player, watching the needle intently as it gently dropped onto the black disc before sitting back on his bed. The title track’s intro then seeped into the silence of the room, paired by Noel humming along to it. “Think their debut was better, if I’m honest.”
“Well preference always matters,” I answered back, walking over to his bed to grab the vinyl sleeve, gazing at the lyric sheets, also taking a seat next to Noel. I felt his stare on me, but I attempted to ignore it as I focused on the little verses of poetry in one of the songs. “Morrissey is such a depressing writer.”
A laugh rumbled at his throat at my absentminded comment. Averting my gaze, I looked at Noel and smiled again. “I’m not wrong!”
“What else you into?” he asked me, curiosity laced in his tone as he diverted the topic.
“Everything else you listen to really, I looked through most of your vinyls,” I replied, watching Noel as his eyebrows furrowed together in shock, my smile widening as I felt my cheeks start to burn slightly - I had never thought that I’d be having a genuine conversation with Noel. “Especially the Beatles, Liam’s told me how much you love them.”
Noel was impressed, and it showed on his face quite evidently. “What’s your favourite album by them then?”
Looking away for a couple seconds, I thought of a response. “Probably Sergeant Peppers. Was their most innovative stuff, in my opinion at least.”
We continued to ramble on about music for a short while, Noel continuing to act excessively shocked whenever I had told him I had indeed listened or liked an artist he questioned. It was nice to finally discuss music with somebody since Liam was never really into it. “You’d never expect me to listen to all of this because I’m friends with a lunatic.”
Another laugh left Noel’s mouth, a smile stuck on his lips. “All he’s obsessed with is football, I don’t even get how you’re both mates.”
“Opposites attract.” I answered back, leaning back to have my back against the wall as we continued to talk. My cheeks began to hurt after a while of us chatting, due to the smile that was unable to leave my lips.
“How come we’ve never spoken properly before?” He asked, walking over to flip the vinyl to side B. “You’re cool.” he added in a mumble, almost as if he didn’t want it to be heard.
I felt blood slightly rush to my cheeks after the compliment fell from his lips, my top teeth clinging onto my bottom lip as a wave of nervousness washed over me. “Maybe because you’re always out.”
A hum of agreement rumbled from his throat as my eyes fixated themselves on the white ceiling. I could see that Noel was staring at me through my peripheral, which caused my cheeks to increase their redness, only slightly. “We should hang out sometime.”
Connecting eyes with him, I admired his dark brown orbs for a second, before I responded. “We should.”
Breaking our moment together, we were welcomed by an exhausted Liam rushing into the room, breathing heavily from his jog up the stairs. Falling onto the bed, me and Noel shared a moment of laughter as we simply stared at Liam’s state. “What’re you lot laughing about?”
Me and Noel turned to look at one another, sharing a gaze once again. There was a specific glint in his eyes which I marveled at, his face beaming at me, only causing me to reciprocate in the same manner. Our stare meant more than what it was, a certain tension was held between us that was felt by both participants. Especially for Noel, whose heart was pumping as if it were about to burst out of his chest, his cheeks a little flushed out of admiration for the girl sitting next to him. “Nothing.” we replied, giggling slightly as our eyes stayed glued on one another.

Ateez reaction their s/o loving their scent (Hyung Line)
So for this imagine, to change it up a bit I decided to have it both ways, wherein they love your scent in some reactions, but you also love theirs in others. Thus, for the members that seem like they would openly tell you about your scent, the reactions have been written in that way. For the members that might not, I have written it so the reader loves their scent instead. Sorry that this is so confusing ahaha.
Also I probably sound so weird, I promise I’m not a weird person. Doesn’t everyone imagine what people smell like? no? just me? okay.
Word Count : 2k
Genre : Fluff
Hongjoong :
It was comeback period, and they needed to have a full album with 9 songs in just under 3 months. This definitely took a toll on Hongjoong, as he felt constantly stressed, 24/7. You noticed he wasn’t coming home as often as he used to, and you noticed how he had distanced himself from you too. You tried reaching out, and calling him, only for him to give short replies and get back to work. You knew this wasn’t good for his mental health, but there was only so much you could do. You knew that if he kept overworking and taking stress, his body would soon not be able to take it anymore and that’s exactly what happened.
About halfway through their live, Seonghwa and San got a phone call from their leader. Thinking it was a normal phone call, they declined it as a joke. Even after a few minutes however, Hongjoong didn’t call them back, so they called him themselves getting worried. They were instantly met with his hoarse voice begging for help.
“Seonghwa-yah, I can’t breathe. I- I-” He gasped and cried. Seonghwa and San instantly went into panic mode, quickly ending the live and rushing to their leader. They found Hongjoong in the corner of his studio of the floor, head in hands, sobbing.
“Hey, hey, hey, Hongjoong hyung, what’s wrong?” San asked, only to be cut of by gasping from the leader. Hongjoong was sobbing loudly and he couldn’t breathe, this had never happened before and he didn’t know what to do. Seonghwa started to get worried, and had called the rest of the members. They all watched helplessly, as their leader was crying and was violently shaking, flinching at any contact made. Seonghwa and Yeosang both started to cry feeling incredibly helpless. San decided to call you for help, knowing you’d be able to calm him down.
“Y/n-ah, I think Hongjoong hyung is having a panic attack, he won’t stop crying and can’t breathe, please hurry!” He sternly said. You gasped and ran out the door, with nothing but your phone. When you arrived at the studio, you found all the boys huddled around Hongjoong, while he was sobbing and gasping. They made way for you, and you immediately jumped into his arms. You straddled his lap, and ran your fingers through his hair. As soon as he recognised the familiar scent, he gasped and cried a little louder, whispering apologies to you.
“Shhh” You whispered, tears flowing nonstop from your eyes too. He buried his head into your neck and the both of you just sat there and cried. His breathing slowly calmed down, and his cries subsided. When he finally could breathe normally, he looked up at everyone with bloodshot eyes, muttering apologies.
“I’m sorry, I don’t know what happened to me...” He whispered. At this point, most of the members were crying, or at least had teary eyes seeing their leader so broken. He was thankful to have you in that moment as you knew him well enough to know your scent calmed him down.
Seonghwa :
You knew it was wrong, Seonghwa was the son of your mom’s boyfriend, but you still found him so intriguing. He could possibly been your stepbrother, if your mom decides to get married. You wanted your mom to be happy, but at the same time couldn’t help but hate their relationship. It didn’t help when once recently you were caught in his room smelling his stuff. Your mom and Seonghwa’s dad had already moved in together, but weren’t married yet. Despite this, it was only obvious, for them to take the next step and get married. At the moment, you and Seonghwa had your own rooms, but you were banished form his at all costs. Despite this, you let your curiosity get the best of you, and one day decided to sneak into his room. Bad idea.
You were greeted by the most heavenly scent of a mix of roses, honey and musk. His room was cozy and the fact that everything smelled like him did not help one bit. Your legs moved on their own and you walked towards his closet. You felt like you were ascending. Overwhelmed by heavenly scents, you grabbed a bunch of the clothing and stuffed it into your face, inhaling the wonderful smell. You must have seemed like a creep, but you didn’t care. You soon walked to desk and noticed a small black bottle. You realised it was cologne and your curiosity getting the best of you, you smelled it. This was it. This is the heavenly smell you loved. You immediaetely drenched yourself in it loving the smell.
Meanwhile, a certain someone was watching you from the door. He walked into the room, and in a daze, you didn’t realise he walked in. He back hugged you and you jumped.
“Hey, calm down” He whispered
“I see, you’re enchanted by the way my room smells” He said turning you around, and there it was again, the sweet smell, mixed with a bit of sweat, pure heaven in your opinion. You tried your best to try and block out the smell, only for your eyes to roll back into your head from pleasure and comfort.
Seonghwa laughed at you, pushing you outside the room.
“You better stop doing that, or else I might have to tell mom and dad” He said giggling, his demeanor instantly changing. You were confused and even more frustrated now. You were falling for Seonghwa but couldn’t be with him. What a tragic life you had. Little did you know, a few months later, you both would run away and get eloped. Haha, sorry mom.
Yunho :
Could you have possibly fallen harder for Yunho. The answer is no. You were so in love with him it scared you. You weren’t even aware you could love someone this much, yet here you were. You couldn’t be happier though, Yunho loved you even more, if that were eve possible. One thing that you always loved though was the way it smelled, and you actually liked his smell before you even met him.
See, your best friend, was Yunho’s younger, cousin sister. When you had come to visit once, she was talking about her boyfriend and was talking about how he made her feel so loved. She showed you this blue hoodie he had lent her and you just nodded your head, unsure of what to say. You weren’t too interested, since you just felt more single anyways. When she left to go the washroom, however, you decided to take a closer look. You picked up the hoodie she was showing you. Was it really that nice to have your boyfriend lend you a hoodie? You picked up the hoodie and smelled it, it smelled like sweat and you threw it as far as you could away from you.
“Wow, I can see why she is smitten” You said to yourself sarcastically, rolling your eyes. You were about the go back to sit on the bed when you noticed a dark grey hoodie. Sighing, you picked it up. You brought it close to your face to observe the words on it only to be greeted by the sweetest, most heavenly smell ever. You immediately gasped and stuffed the fabric in your face. It smelled like honey and you couldn’t get enough of it. You were absolutely mesmerised and decided to put it on. Your hands were moving on their own and you removed your shirt and put the hoodie on. Right then, your friend walked in and you gasped.
“This isn’t your boyfriends hoodie is it?” You asked stuttering, hoping it wasn’t, or else you would definitely be in a weird position.
“So you have found Yunho’s hoodie huh” She replied
“Yunho? who’s Yunho?
“My cousin”
“Thank godd!” You said a bright smile on your face, now you could openly voice your interest without feeling worried that it was her boyfriend’s hoodie instead.
“What’s with that smileee” Your best friend teased you
“Dudeee, this hoodie smells like honey and it reminds me of heaven. I just want to like bathe myself in this smell, why is it so enchanting?” You said exasperated.
“I mean it smells alright...” your best friend said, not understanding you.
“ALRIGHT?!??! IT SMELLS LIKE HEAVEN DUDE, LIKE MUSKY AND I WANT TO BE SURROUNDED BY THIS SCENT” You said yelling
Right then, a tall boy walked through the door. He stood in front of you and you raised an eyebrow. You were about to say something, when he hugged you all of a sudden. You were taken aback at first but recognised the smell, and instantly wrapped your hands around his neck and brought yourself closer.
Thats how you met Yunho.
Yeosang :
You and Yeosang were the perfect couple. Balancing each other out, yet matching each others energy, you couldn’t have asked for more. One of your favourite things to do was lie on him when he was shirtless as you loved his natural woody scent. It was so calming for you and it was just one of the many other reasons you loved him.
The problem was, you could never stop yourself. You just loved him smell so much, you just tried to be close to him whenever you could. It didn’t help that you were at the dorms recently with all the members and wanted to cuddle. You were all watching a movie, when you saw Woosan, Seonghwa and his girlfriend, Hongjoong and his girlfriend, and Yungi cuddling. It made you pout, so you pulled on one of Yeosang’s arms. He just looked down at you questioningly while you pulled him closer. He giggled and realised what you wanted, guiding your head to his chest, laying it gently and running his hands through your hair. This was still not enough for you though. You pulled up the blanket you were sharing and pulled it over the both of you, until your head, and his chest. Under the blanket, you slowly and gently ran your hands down till the bottom of his thin shirt and lifted it up slightly. You glided your hands under his shirt and gently pushed them upwards. He instantly shivered and the cold touch and closed his eyes. You ran your hands across his stomach and chest and he lightly moaned, only for you to hear.
You laughed and pulled the blanket over your heads completely until it was covering the both of you. You then took the opportunity to take off his shirt. He simply obliged, caught up in the moment. When you took off his shirt, you slid back down, to the waistband of his pants, and kissed his stomach. You moved up his stomach and chest showering him with kisses, after finally finding a comfortable position, and resting your head on his chest. He kissed your head and wrapped the blanket around the both of you comfortably. When the movie was over and the Matz started waking everyone up, it was safe to say they were thoroughly confused when they saw him shirtless, with your head in the crook of his neck. They decided to wake Yeosang up first, not wanting to embarrass you. He looked at all of them and blushed, carrying you to his room. He never told you about what happened, until recently when you had another movie night together and Wooyoung didn’t pass you the blanket.
“Yah! Wooyoung, pass me the blanket idiot!” You yelled after he kept snatchin it away.
“Why? so you can do nasty stuff, while Yeosang is shirtless, like you did last time?” He said raising his eyebrows. You were first confused, then blushed bright red, and started to chase him. Yeosang simply sighed and joined the two of you.

tag 9 people you want to get to know better
Thank you for tagging me @academicdisaster24! Loved reading your answers, and I'm obsessed that you love Captive Prince. I need more people to gush to about this amazing series of books! Also, I'm very very excited for your original work - that's incredible that you're embarking on it and I wish you every ounce of luck in the world!! 🖤
--
Favourite colour: Green. It's always been green! It's a colour I wear a lot of (when I'm not just wearing black/grey!) and my flat is very green-orientated. I have a mcm style bottle green velvet couch which might be my favourite possession, and I also have a lot of plants which are, of course, green. I've just always felt drawn to it more than any other colour. It makes me feel peaceful.
Currently reading: In terms of fics, I'm reading @lostmykeysie's The Horcrux Hunt and @wolfstarting's We never went to church. Both highly recommended. In terms of books, I've finally picked up Dave Grohl's The Storyteller and I'm also reading Exciting Times for a book club I'm part of.
Last song: Just opened up my Spotify and apparently it's The Waves Have Come by Chelsea Wolfe! I've also been on a bit of a Metallica kick recently and have had Kill 'Em All on repeat, my favourite album of theirs. Listening to it while houseworking/writing makes me feel like I've had about 1000 cups of coffee. Also, I will die on the hill I've created, insistent that Kirk Hammett (especially 80s!Kirk) is the perfect Sirius fc.
Last series: Succession season 3: devastating.
Sweet, savoury or spicy: Okay this is hard because I love all three of them together! But I always reach for savoury snacks first. I am absolutely obsessed with salt and vinegar crisps (Co-Ops own brand is unmatched imo). BUT I love spicy wings and put hot sauce on an alarming amount of dishes, so.
Currently working on: My Wolfstarbucks get-together one shot, which I'm hoping to get online next week; the next chapter of Pages of You which features a camping trip in the Surrey Hills and an awkward tent situation. Next up is, probably, my Nick Hornby Wolfstar fic. And, on the back burner, I also have an original novel that I've been meaning to work on for a few years now. I would like to work on that this year, if I find the courage.
Anyone who sees this, feel free to take part! But for rules-sake, I'll tag @lostmykeysie @wolfstarting @wanderingbandurria @aqua-myosotis @slytherinreggieblack @aeridi0nis @remuslupingf @dykesiriusblack @mollymarymarie 🖤🖤🖤
