I think if I could make a total dream game I'd make a VR romance experience.
#talkForge#and hear me out I think I could do it#both because I know how to make VR games but that's not the issue the issue is that all the VR romance experiences are like n/s/fw#so you get that uncanny valley models and weird animations but listen. forget all that. throw it away.#in walkabout golf labyrinth dlc when you unlock night mode you can go through the course and collect clues from the goblin king to unlock a#unique putter? and you end up kind of acting out both the act of having already finished the course and the movie itself.#and I think. with the right sounds/images/textures.#this could happen#unfortunately I'd need to be a millionaire first because I don't do 3D modelling :(

What's the bnha fic and why would it get you stoned by teenagers lmaoo
I think Deku and Bakugo should be equal yet opposite levels of completely fucking terrible.
ASJKLDF I was helping @bytebun spitball ways to make the Bakugo and Deku dynamic not badly written, and they were detailing some ideas and I was detailing others, and I eventually I was like 'like this?' and wrote this, and they were like 'yeah like that' and etc.
Look. There is an art and a science to writing shonen rivals. It is a clear and concise thing. Deku and Bakugo are not good shonen rivals. This is because they can live without each other. This is because they do not need each other psychologically. This is because they do not fulfill something that was missing in each other. This is because they are not the same person. This is because they are not two exact opposite people in every way. Go read Hikaru no Go and Naruto and get back to me on what an actual shonen rivalry looks like. This is why teenagers would stone me to death.
Literally only two pages of a fic under the cut but I personally do want people to know that this is MY hero academia.
A piece of paper teleported onto Katsuki’s desk. He stared down at it. He looked to the right, where Deku was grinning anxiously at him and pointing at the paper. Katsuki, staring him directly in the eyes, smeared his hand across the front of the page and set it thoroughly on fire. It burned to a crisp in seconds. Deku’s face fell pathetically, like bow-legged dog.
“No quirk usage in detention, Bakugo!”
“Deku was passing notes,” Katsuki said snidely, not taking his eyes off Deku. Deku’s big, wet, pleading eyes promised that snitches get stitches.
Snipe sighed and went back to his VR game, hands twitching. “Just simmer down, you two.”
“Y - yes, sir, of course, I’m sorry!”
Katsuki did not lower himself to acknowledge a teacher. They waited in bloated silence until they were both certain that Snipe had lost himself thoroughly in the beauty of fictional marksmanship as a distraction from his real life marksmanship before making their next move.
Deku leaned over, whispering so quietly his mouth barely moved. “You punched me because you resent your mother.”
Jesus motherfucking Christ. Not this shit again. “Stop chasing me down with your goddamn psychoanalysis,” Katsuki hissed. “You can’t fix me.”
“Because you don’t need to be fixed! You just need to admit that you’re jealous of my own perfect mother’s nurturing parenting style and that you needed validation of your feelings instead of your achievements. You’re replicating your mother’s stunted emotional expression but you know how it prevents you from genuine connection.”
“I’m not listening to this.” Katsuki powerfully refrained from listening to Deku or reacting. Deku waited patiently. Katsuki lasted around five seconds. “Rich talk from Mr. Daddy Issues, asshole!”
“Really, Kacchan? Playground insults?” Deku looked down upon him pityingly yet compassionately. He practiced that expression in the mirror. Katsuki had seen it. Deku tried convincing him that he was imagining things, and when his manipulative tactics failed against Katsuki’s iron will he pivoted to convincing the rest of the class of Katsuki’s discomfort with visible emotion. “I processed the trauma of my father’s abandonment and my internalized guilt over why he left. I came to peace with it a long time ago. I’ve realized the power of found family, Kacchan.”
Katsuki narrowed his eyes. “You cried last week because you failed the practical exam and you thought All Might wouldn’t like you anymore.”
“And I recognize the scars that remain.”
“You are actively wasting my life.” Katsuki picked up his slimy pencil and bent over his assignment, flexing his well-honed ability to repress Deku’s existence. “Go jerk yourself off with your therapy language someplace else, asshole.”
Deku sniffed, turning back to his own assignment. “It sounds to me like you haven’t realized the power of found family.”
For the love of - only somebody with daddy issues nattered on about found families. Katsuki was from a nuclear home and he didn’t need to speedrun emotional intimacy with every other emotionally damaged fame-hungry asshole in their pretentious little prep school.
Katsuki leaned over, letting the pop and crackle of his sweat echo in Deku’s ears. For once, the sound didn’t make him cringe away. It just made him sit very still, eyes tracking Katsuki’s movements. Like a pathetic little wounded gazelle. As if. Deku was a lion playing at a wounded gazelle for sympathy, and he always had been. He would feed anything into the gaping maw of the perpetually hungry savior complex. Even Katsuki.
“At least I know my friends like me for me,” Katsuki hissed. He’d never call them his friends to their faces, but - well, Katsuki had more than enough friends who liked him for his accomplishments in his life. He knew how to pick out the real deal. “Your life is a pretense and your personality is a mask. One little thing about you has defined your past, present, and future, and you are nothing but that one little thing. Deku.”
Deku narrowed his eyes at Katsuki. “One could say the same about you.”
Yes, obviously, don’t remind him. “Yeah, but the people around me know it. So long as the people around you don’t know it, you’ll never really know if they like you or not. A friendship like that can’t be real. They don’t know why you’re Deku. I’m the only one in this class who knows nobody should trust a word you say.”
But Deku just turned his head and smiled at him, and the smile was identical to every other smile. “By that logic, you’re the only real friend I have.” Katsuki opened his mouth indignantly. “What? Is your logic flawed? Are you wrong? Kacchan?”
Ugh! Fucking rhetorical traps! If he tried, he could probably think of another argument, but it didn’t seem like an important thing to argue. “We’re trapped in this stupid room for three more hours and I am going to actually explosion murder you if you don’t shut the fuck up.”
Deku smiled, one of his little secret smiles - a little cheeky, a little sly. “Then we should learn to coexist. Tolerance is a beautiful thing.”
“If you’re trying to get me to stop punching you in class you should just say so. Or ask.”
“I have a packed schedule, Kacchan. I’m just trying to maximize the time in my day.” Deku bent over his assignment, pencil flying at light speeds and clearly dismissing him. His eyes flickered to Katsuki one last time. “Maybe I’ll find time to reply to Kirishima’s text requesting help in asking you out -”
Katsuki exploded, and both of their days were lost to another three hours of detention.

Did somebody ask for adventure forward head canons that may or may not interfere with the actual canon because I haven't played the games in a while?
No? Screw you, you're getting them anyway.
Warning ⚠️ I am cringe, but I am free so I feel like that makes up for it.
VERY LONG LIKE INCREDIBLY LONG YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED DO NOT CLICK THAT SEE MORE BUTTON UNLESS YOU WANT TO READ ADVENTURE FORWARD HEAD CANNONS YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Also I say head cannons but like halfway through I derail into my AU of what crown of shadows and vein reveal would be like so I still think it's really interesting but I'm very biased.
("I hate celesteal!" I say, before making a bunch of head cannons around him.) I really like celesteal as a character I hate him as a person but I really love him as a character
Do not expect this to be arranged well it will not be. This is not chronological this is not even like grouping a character altogether this is really messy, I'm just getting all my ideas out.
The two different canceled sequels are both different timelines (that I may or may not make crossover in my head) and I have different ideas for how each of them would go so I will refer to them as crown of shadows (COS) and Vain revival (VR) to specify when it is only for one of the versions.
Anshine and Stratosfear are happily married.
I don't know if this is cannon or not but Sheldon definitely made Miobot. And also accidentally made him sentient, oops, sure hope that doesn't come back causing both of you to get forcefully ascended to a higher existence.
Celesteal admire humans a lot mostly because he can't figure out where they keep coming from (he does not know how reproduction works) and he can't figure out how to make one.
VR! The shard saver is his closest attempt to a human looking mostly correct but having the little quirk of her having pink blood and also thinking it is normal for a person to not remember the first 15 years of their life (She does not know she is not human at first) The shard savior is also the only one of his creations that he considers to be his child.
It took Celesteal a couple hundred years to figure out how to make a sentient being at that point he was kind of already cuckoo bananas.
Yawgate was one of his earlier creations and often accompanied him to where he needed to go because Yawgate does the portaling.
The pure points did not learn how to speak English properly they were just imbued with that knowledge shortly after they were made. Unfortunately they are all British because of this. (Celesteal thinks that accent is the most quote on quote "cool" and therefore he speaks in it)
Celesteal refers to everyone using they/them most of the time because he does not know how genders work at all.
The first Star Savior is a 39-year-old closeted gay man named Stefan. (I accidentally stole that name from a fanfiction like 2 years ago, oops)
Mason is a 40-year-old and is also a closeted gay man. The main reason he became the mayor is because his father was the mayor and his father is now dead. The hat wears is his father's. He is also really tired of the may or may not jokes, yes he has heard it before it lost its funny factor since he was a child and heard it from people saying that to his father. Stefan doesn't think it's lost it's funny factor and still makes those jokes.
Mason and Stefan are childhood best friends and may or may not (Haha get it) have feelings for each other. Unfortunately, that issue won't be resolved for another 300 years. (Talk about a slow burn)
The second Star savior is a 28-year-old man named Nicholas (I also stole that name from the same fanfiction I read 2 years ago accidentally, oops) who has served in the military. His only remaining family members are his aunt, who he has a rough relationship with and his cousin who he has a fine relationship with, but he hasn't talked to since before he joined the military.
Anshine is really bad at naming things like "if he had a Dalmatian he would name it spot" type of bad at naming things.
Stratosfear for a brief period of time forgot his own strength because he didn't really have to do stuff like opening jars when he had to play the role of the star steeler and he's kind of been trapped for 300 years so not a lot of time to get used to how strong you are with objects and stuff.
Stratosfear is immune to poison and venom because he himself can make poisonous stuff if he really wanted to. He can also make red metal into any shape he wants, he just thinks scorpions are cool and so has a bunch of metal shapes in the shape of the scorpion tail, that is one of the very few things he got to choose for himself in that time loop.
Evon has somehow managed to in all her years of being a cashier, which is two, meet every single pre-point and not realize it. Evon goes by Eve. Whett is Eve's boss. Whett and Randall are friends.
Eve lives with her roommate Rose who has very obvious feelings for her and Eve is oblivious. (Would really be a shame if something were to happen to Eve which caused Rose to never be able to properly tell her her feelings, ha. On a completely unrelated note Rose is actually one of Nick's ancestors so maybe that's a good thing because he literally wouldn't exist if they were together oops. This just in, woman (me) who can't handle tragedy made another tragedy.)
Umbra may or may not be in a cult?? It's really unclear to an outsider if it's a cult or just a really dedicated group of people to studying the Moon. She does have powers from this because I think that's cool.
If Cynosura had a nickel for every time he has been brutally transformed he would have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice.
He got cursed by a weird gem thing that was in his backyard when he was like twelve. Given the fact that he's already cursed he can't be cursed again so he goes out looking for those items to stop anyone else from being cursed. (Yes, he has ice powers I thought it would be cool for his pre point to also have them, shut up.)
Cynosura and Umbra used to be friends before Cynosura's cursing and then became penpals because they couldn't see each other in person they recently have started talking in person again. I feel it is important to mention that Umbra literally couldn't care less that he was cursed, she's more mad he didn't talk to her in person for that whole time. (They're like in their thirties I don't know the exact ages)
(Wow sure hope Umbra doesn't see something she's not supposed to see and go to run off to tell him and drag him down with her to be higher being of existence forcefully accidentally because she couldn't keep it to herself) (also Celesteal gets Cynosura pointified Midway through talking about how they probably shouldn't know this and how one of them might get hurt because he quote unquote "thought it would be really funny" Umbra tried to punch him in the face, to little success.)
Despair is an orphan and is also distinctly not human. (He's not exactly sure how to say what he is in English so he just goes with what everybody else calls him, a demon.) he also chose that name when he was an edgy teenager, his friends call him Dee because it's kind of hard to take the name Despair seriously. Despair still finds the name cool even though he is going to be twenty soon.
Cynosura offered him a place to stay shortly after he lost his parents at like 10ish. He takes up this offer randomly and then randomly leaves. They consider each other to kind of be like Uncle and nephew.
Eve, Despair, and Laoin are all friends.
Laoin is part dragon because I think that's cool.
Funny random thing I thought of, Laoin is friends with Trussy (I don't like that name that much I kind of want to change it but I don't know to what) who is friends with Sheldon And Laoin is also friends with Despair who is friends with Cynosura so when Cynosura needed house repairs once Despair mentioned that to Laoin who mentioned it to Trussy who then paired up with Sheldon to help fix Cynosura house while not knowing him directly at all.
Ixol gets pointified last and only gets pointified because his entire friend group mysteriously disappeared and he managed to -in his grief- figure out almost everything he had a board with red string across it and everything he was like one pin away from figuring out the identity of Stratosfear, I am serious. He figured out that the points probably where his friends because it's a little suspicious that each time one of his friends disappears there's a new guy with their exact personality who doesn't remember their past, this happened to him like four times. Cyalm when he realized what Despair had figured out was shocked and really impressed because he proceeded to do that and then never do anything like that ever again.
Yawgate is not supposed to let the pure points into other pure points dimensions but he does it anyway behind Celesteal's back because he feels really bad that they wouldn't be able to see each other any other way. (Celestial doesn't really care that much, he knows Yawgates doing it he just feels like it's not worth his time to stop it. Yawgate doesn't know that Celesteal knows about that) Only reason he didn't visit Stratosfear for that whole time is because Celestial specifically blocked off that pocket dimension.
Morword is surprisingly optimistic for seeing an infinite number of alternative timelines that the future could go into many of which includes people she cares about dying. But she chooses to specifically not think about that.
Pasless is one of the only people who knows about the infinite amount of timelines cause unlike the rest of them there is only one him and he is just split apart infinitely, he does a surprisingly good job at keeping the different parts of him separate and not letting anyone else know that he is constantly doing that. He talks to Morword about it occasionally though. Morword doesn't let him know how much it bothers her that those infinite number of timelines that she sees do actually happen in a different timeline.
That whole speech Morword and Pasless gave about how "you control the future but can someone else control the past and if so would we know" was incredibly pre-planned, they practice that for like a month straight once Morword saw that someone was going to see them.
(Yes, I am a sucker for them considering themselves siblings, how did you know?)
Stratosfear has PTSD.
The Red x did not have a name he consistently went by until someone else decided to name him (I want the first star savior to name him but I am not sure if that directly goes against the canon) and then once he realized he could change his name he went ballistic with changing his name. Like, come on he did it thrice.
Blueband is one of the few humans the Red x personally likes blueband is very loyal to the Red x and as a reward for his good behavior he gets to be pointified and keep his memories (he's the red guy who tried and failed to guard the elemental points) he's a little upset that he can't wear his hat anymore due to the horns. When blue bands pointified form I forgot his name and I don't care enough to look it up see stratosfear he exclusively refers to him as the star stealer, this annoys Stratosfear greatly.
VR! The shard savior is a 20 year old (or at least she thinks she is) named Charlotte (hooray I didn't steal that name form that fanfiction I read 2 years ago) who, as previously established, thinks it is completely normal to not remember the first 15 years of your life and is Celesteal's favorite creation. (She does not know this)
VR! Verfection (Yes, he is a pointified version of the second Star saver, he has lost all of his memories.) is best friends with the Voxier. (Their friendship is the poster child for extrovert adopts introvert) Verfection is one of the very few people that Voxier actually cares about and makes them actually want to exist and not return to the nothingness he (supposedly) came from.
VR! Verfection and Charlie freaking hate each other.
COS! Arrolin and Ixol freaking die. And on a completely unrelated note Compale loses one of his legs. (They're not supposed to be able to lose those but voixer managed to anyway) You see the joke is that it's not unrelated Ixol dies so Compale won't, haha. (This just in woman (me) who, once again, can't handle tragedies has made another tragedy.)
Still COS! Ixol also had the ability to see ghosts and was able to see Arrolin's ghost she was happy about this, Ixol was not. Ixol could always see ghosts, he just thinks he's really lost at this time, he already knew he was probably insane this was just the tipping point for him to actually realize it. Once Ixol is dead he also becomes a ghost and realizes he probably should have told the others before he kicked the bucket.
Also COS! geez I have a lot of head cannons for COS! Said crown of shadows is a corrupting force that corrupts the user and when in a room with only one person will attempt to attach itself to said person's head. Voixer would have without the crown of shadows never tried to actually kill the points just try to figure out a method to go back to the void it's only the crown of shadows that gave him the idea of killing the characters in the story to also kill himself to end the story. Not that the rest of the points will ever know this except for Nicholas.
You know what I'm just going to tell you when it's not COS! Anymore okay?: Oopsie Daisy, Nick, you killed the guy who the crown was on and you were the only person in the room, guess what the crown is going to try to do. That's right! Force itself on your head. So Nick any actively crumbling building thing starts getting pointified, uh-oh. Luckily for him he's in an actively crumbling building (a sentence that has probably been said exactly once) and the rubble knocks the crown of his head, (Yay!) it also cuts off his arm (Not yay!) because he is not fully point yet and he does not get the neat ability to regrow his limbs until after one of his limb is already gone.
He wakes up surprisingly okay for just being under a crumbling building, he's also a point now and actively missing an arm and there's also this evil crown trying to get on his head so in his panic he tries it to stuff it in his bag, this somehow works in stopping it.
A little meme based off of that:
He's going to go by verfection now because he feels a little weird in breaking tradition of choosing a new name when you become a point. He also got the ability to see ghosts, get haunted by your dead friends, idiot. Surprisingly this is good for Verfection's mental health because that means he can't completely isolate himself. Voixer doesn't directly haunt him because he feels a little still messed up in the head and also feels guilt, a lot of guilt, and shame, quite a bit of shame.
Verfection just went back to living at his house because he didn't tell anyone where he lived. Verfection is not doing well because even though he got the crown off soon enough that he didn't go completely mad he still isn't doing great mentally and feels a lot of guilt because he got the memories of Voixer and now feels like he killed someone who didn't deserve it. He's mostly just trying to keep the crown safe to stop anyone else from getting it put on their heads. Surprisingly putting it in a bag still is working. Just for safe measures he locked it in a specific room that no one is meant to go into as well as putting it in a safe in said room. He still has not told his friends he's alive because he feels a lot of guilt and a lot of emotions right now.
Also Signol just loses her memory again, don't worry she'll get it all back when they managed to figure out how symbol breaking works in the crown of shadows timeline which I haven't figured out how they're going to figure that out but I know they will figure it out.
FINALLY WE'RE DONE WITH CROWN OF SHADOWS FOR NOW
VR! Verfection was actually a scrapped idea that Celesteal had he scrapped it because he thought it was too similar to the first star savior's fate. However those scrapped ideas came out whenever the world started literally breaking.
None of them know how points work (except celesteal for obvious reasons) exactly they mostly got it figured out but sometimes they'll just figure out something completely new about how they work for instance,
Okay after this point I'm just going to specify when the vein reveal section is done: There would be a boss fight between Stratosfear and Anshine in which they would fuse and then not figure out how to defuse until after they were uncorrupted. After Celesteal was brought back he revealed but that's just a thing they can do and I've always been able to do he just never mentioned it before.
Despite the fact that Yawgate is on the side of "we need to bring celesteal back or else the world will literally end", it is important to know he is one of celesteal's top five biggest haters. Probably being biggest hater number two or three. He was often threatened with being erased from existence by him and over time him threatening to do that to people that you love and actually doing it at least once causes you to dislike a person over time.
In the final fight of "we shouldn't bring back an evil dictator who literally locked up a guy for 300 years cause he thought it'd be funny I guess" vs "okay but we literally need to bring him back or else the world will literally end we hate him too" Verfection accidentally cuts Charlie's arm off which simultaneously makes Verfection's symbol break due to the intensity of it all and causes Charlie to realize that she is indeed not human because her arm is bleeding pink and is shattering into shards that are actively rebuilding themselves in front of her. All of the same time celesteal is actively getting remade from the shards collected.
Celesteal did not intend to come back after being killed he did not think that the world would just shatter into pieces, he thought it would be more like a crown of shadows if anything. When he does come back he's like "Oh. Oh. I messed up didn't I? I made a miscalculation somewhere... :D Hiiiii Charlie! <3 My favorite creation! How are you doing? Oh, you've grown so much! What are they feeding you around here?" And everyone's just kind of standing there like "what".
ALRIGHT I THINK THAT'S THE END OF IT
I definitely forgot some of my head cannons (I have a lot) but this post is getting so like incredibly long I think I'm good with ending it here.
Ending notes:
"Why do half of the pre points know each other? It's not very realis-"
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫 I don't care. And they all live in pretty close vicinity just because that's easier for me. And by pretty close I mean no one is more than like a city away.
"Where are the elemental points? You barely mentioned them."
Shut up they're still there I just forgot their names and I don't have a lot of ideas for them all I know is blue bands pointified form I forgot his name was supposed to be guarding them, he failed at guarding them. They all want the crown of shadows because it is immensely powerful even though it's a corrupting Force I don't know what happens next I haven't thought about them nearly as much as the others.
I also have several au's including the previously established vein reveal and crown of shadows au's I explained above and several others including "pathetic loser villain OC makes Nicholas have a bad time" (ASK ME ABOUT HIM PLEASE) and "what if Verfection was a pure point" and other various ideas.
#Guys I'm being dragged back into this fandom because of pointtober help me#Man it's so embarrassing when I have to bring up my OCS for the star savers because#Like 2 years ago I read a fanfiction very early into the fandom and those names from that fanfiction stuck with me#I changed their personalities I think but the names are the same from that dang fanfiction#The shard savior name is different though I just made a new girl up#Putting all of your ideas out is really fun I think I'm going to update my adolescent evil turtles list because my ideas have changed#Significantly for my version of the turtles#I am making an adventure forward video and it will come out soon I have a couple more drawings to make#a rare original post#Long post#Adventure forward#Adventure forward 2#Af2#Adventure forward headcanons#Do I want to tag all of the characters individually? Probably not. But I think I'll do some of them that I have the most head cannons for#Celesteal#Cyalm#cyalm af2#stratosfear#star savior#second star savior#Shard savior#Af:cos#Adventure forward: crown of shadows#Adventure forward vein reveal#Afvr#headcanon#Verfection#Voixer

finished replaying v3. and the ending is Not Good and idc what uppity people who go "uhmmm u just didnt Get It and u have a problem with Media Consumption" say
like idc how flamed i get but the ending feels like it was written by a 20 year old who still unironically identifies as an antishipper what with the "everyone was obsessed with this fictional murder series so then it bled over i to hurting real life people!!!! this is how horror media works!!" shit
but like. there is a way i think to have a similar ending without obliterating the rest of the series:
make it a commentary on true crime.
like, the tragedy happened and the world healed but people were obsessed w the killing games and recreate them as a spectacle despite the real victims of the real killing games being very much still alive and vehemently opposing this shit. hell u can even use the neo world progeam angle as a "look! we got the REAL neo world program from the jabberwock island killing game!!" advertising point for the show
like i just think it would be a best of both worlds situation, with the commentary on treating people like props, both in the sense of participants used for entertainment AND using the real trauma of still alive people for entertainment
plus the "its not real it doesnt matter lol" angle with the NWP, which you could argue happened in sdr2, BUT in that game, there was a reason they were put there. it was a means to an end. NOW? it's just entertainment value. it grinds you up and spits you out and team dangan says "oh well its all VR so its fine!!!" to avoid legal issues but you still have the memories of seeing a dead body, you still have the memories of dying, you were used and abused by the system because you didn't know what you were signing up for and that was 100% by design
#idk i jus think jts neat!!!#new danganronpa v3 killing harmony#ndrv3 killing harmony#ndrv3#danganronpa v3

🔥the casts of dr 1 and dr 2🔥
I love both sets, but tbh I prefer DR1. Literally the only way I can phrase my issue with SDR2 is that it's too anime. And yeah, some of that is because of the VR, but like, not remotely all of it. Like, you get what I mean, right? DR1 has some wacky nonsense, but it's a lot more grounded in general. It's wackier and sillier than Distrust was, but the dark horror of Distrust still is felt. It's claustrophobic. You can easily understand why everyone would want to get out without needing Komaeda there to make it worse for everyone and there being a giant bomb. Like, DR1 feels like a Fallout Vault, because that is literally what it is honestly. Door and everything.
SDR2, everyone is dialed up to eleven. Genocider feels out of place in DR1, which is the intent. Would she in SDR2? No. And it's not SDR2's fault that their reactions to some of it don't hit the same way for the viewers. It's the genre conventions. Yeah, they're like "holy shit what the fuck" about the giant robots, but for your average weeb, giant robots are a day ending in Y. It's not a human-level threat, it's an anime threat. Big ticking bomb in the middle of everything doesn't quite create the same atmosphere as a naturally psychologically destructive environment. Like, if you removed the giant bomb and killer robots and Komaeda, nobody would want to escape enough to ever kill anyone.
DR1? Yeah, they'd have turned to murder with just the memory wipe, no Monokuma even needed. Lock 15 strangers in a well-equipped and nice to live in Vault with no idea how they got there and no idea what's going on and they're gonna turn to murder from the sheer stress of it eventually. What makes it bearable is the knowledge that it's worse outside. Remove that and grant the hope of escape and the sheer despair of not having any hope of achieving that hope is enough to break most people.
Also there's the factor of how Junko plays the game. In DR1, she's just pushing their natural impulses and they're falling into their own darkness. SDR2? Fuckin despair plague. Trick house. Real Junko doesn't cheat like that. AI Junko cheats. Remember, Despair Disease inverts the personality of those it infects. That's also relevant for Komaeda discussion. I mentioned the NIS America stuff earlier. Now, if he's saying the exact opposite of what he means, Bizarro style, what does it mean when he expresses deep, strong hatred of Hajime? The exact opposite.
But then, it's just cheating to force Mikan to kill. Because it's so outside her nature, truly the exact opposite of who she is. And then the trick house. "I'll kill you all if someone doesn't kill someone!" Real Junko never resorted to such pathetic, underhanded shit. It's blackmail to force someone to kill. The killer and victim are equally heroic for it. It's not them falling to their own moral issues, it's them being so moral that they're both willing to sacrifice themselves to save everyone, while also being such madlads that they go "hey, that means we can have an all-out fight to the death!" Which, again, so anime.
Like, Sakura in DR1, her entire talent is physical combat. The only use of her talent is being a human wrecking ball and fighting Monokuma. The only actual fight in DR1 is just Sakura fighting Monokuma. An entire trial of SDR2 is framed around who was the winner of the shonen battle.
Because of all that, I just find myself liking the DR1 cast more in general. They're more grounded and human. Like, even knowing Gundham is supposed to be a chuuni, he fails to come off as one. The vibe is such that such a person doesn't feel out of place, and he just constantly is selling it. It's kinda pro wrestling, in a good way. Like, realistically you know The Undertaker and Kane aren't undead, one a zombie who once was brainwashed by his step-dad who raised him from the dead but killed him and took his freedom and the other his brother who killed him and became basically Jason Voorhees, but like, they sell it.
You can believe it, because both of them give the vibes. And yes, I know they're both pieces of shit irl, that has already been ruined for me. Gundham's like that. And then in his execution you just have the waters muddied further. Was that just because of the NWP? Or is he fuckin legit about his magic powers and it just applies here? Because like, he certainly didn't seem remotely surprised. He knew it would work. Someone might go "oh come on of course it's the NWP", but y'all, Komaeda's right fuckin there with his magic powers. Komaru's over in Towa City with her magic powers along with her superpowered retired psychosexual serial killer gf. There's too many magic powers in this franchise now to discount magic powers.
And yes, Genocider displays her superpowers in DR1. She's immune to explosions, remember? But again, that feels out of place. She feels out of place. None of the magic powers in SDR2 feel out of place. Everyone's much larger than life in SDR2. In DR1, that's their initial impression, but then that facade is torn away and they're just people. The talents themselves are also less intense. Sakura and Genocider are the most over the top, and I've discussed them both. The rest? An extremely skilled detective? A nepobaby? A biker gang leader? A gambler/con artist? A doujin artist? Baseball? Heck, not all of them are even weird for their age. Leon, Aoi, and Kiyotaka are just "yeah, that makes sense". Mondo's a bit impressive for that at his age, but not that impressive. Street gangs are youth culture. But like, high school sports? Duh. Literally just the biggest kissass in the nation? Okay, makes sense. Olympic swimmer? Yeah, a massive amount of Olympians are teenagers.
And like, the Aoi/Akane contrast. Both of them are Zero Escape references, sharing the names of a brother and sister duo from that series. Both of them are Olympians. Both have a habit of nudity in public (Aoi mentions liking to stand on the balcony naked and feel the fresh air). Both are darker skinned than the rest of the cast. Neither have sports that should be useful to their present situations. But Akane? One of the best fighters in SDR2. And that's just like... weird? Gymnast-muscular and fighter-muscular are two different builds.
Her backstory makes perfect sense for how she's like this, yes. But like... not her sport. Why's she a gymnast? Frankly, Volleyball Player would have actually made a hell of a lot more sense. That's an Olympic sport, and her build being akin to what Mukuro would logically have (stats be damned) would fit perfectly. Her being a gymnast once again hits the dissonance button. I'm sure there's other examples, but gymnast is an odd one. The main connection gymnastics has to being a great fighter is that both require extremely high bodily kinesthetic intelligence. I have no problem with anything regarding Akane here except that they chose gymnast for the sport she does. It doesn't even ever make it's way to being relevant, it could have been different with no impact on anything except making sense.
But I've gone on for so fucking long here, so let's call it now. Point is, I appreciate the tense and more down to earth atmosphere of everything, including the cast, of DR1 more. It just sets a much stronger horror-suspense vibe that I feel SDR2 doesn't have as much because of the anime vibe.

Game Review: Tetris Effect: Connected
General opinion: Positive.
Tetris Effect: Connected is, obviously, a tetris game, with a modern graphical twist. It has classic and VR modes, both of which have their own pros and cons, but are also both worth checking out if you have the ability to. With several different modes, Tetris Effect: Connected offers a lot of different styles of gameplay for varying skill levels.
Starting off, I want to give the game devs credit where credit is due: this game absolutely slaps for it's visuals. A tetris game in the Unreal engine is certainly a choice to make, and they pulled it off really well. Sparkly particles, glowing animations, and surreal visual effects bring a magical experience to a classic arcade game, no matter if you play it in VR or on your screen.
It has both a main campaign where you play through different levels in a story-like sequence, as well as other, more casual AND more intense gameplay options. Marathon modes through themed levels, gimmick modes where you clear "corrupted" blocks or deal with mind boggling effects, and calm modes where you have no game over are all available to play, giving variety for any kind of player.
On top of this, they have colourblind modes of various kinds for the game stages themselves. You can play with classic colours, custom level patterns, or modes that add patterns and colours that make it easier to distinguish the blocks from each other. There's also multiple difficulty levels, ranging from beginner to hard, so you can adjust how many lines you want to clear per level.
The final point I want to praise is the audio experience. It's amazing. There's unique, original tracks made for the game, and the "title song" (used colloquially because it's not actually the title screen song, but it is the one from the first level in the story mode) is ABSOLUTELY incredible in my opinion. Heavy beats that are influenced by the ways you turn, flip, and drop blocks paired with each level having individual themes to them that inspire and match the music playing make it both engaging as well as good to listen to on its own.
And now the negatives...
One major issue I have with this game is that the story mode does not have options for speed, nor do they have a "no game over" setting. This means people like myself, who have visual processing issues as well as mobility issues, have a harder time clearing levels and unlocking the next theme in line. Some levels have rapid speed ups and slow downs that are a bit jarring, and while I understand the fact they might not be able to give the option to not change the speed, I'd have really liked if they'd given an option to have no deaths. It meant, for me, that I got stuck on several levels that I otherwise would have really enjoyed because they went from speed level 3 to speed level 8 or higher all within one lines difference. Having this option for the story mode would have improved the experience immensely for me, as I'm still stuck on the last level in the easy mode.
The only other thing I'd add as a problem is that if you're photosensitive, it could get painful very fast, especially in VR mode. They do have options to turn down or off particles, change graphics settings, etc. but that doesn't change the fact that there are strobing lights on some levels that you cannot turn off.
The above limits the people I can truly recommend the game to, which is genuinely unfortunate, because I know several people who would LOVE this game, if it had the accessibility features mentioned.
Final notes
Overall, it's a great game that brings a really nice, fresh twist on a game that's a decade older than I am. It really justifies itself as an iteration of tetris, much like Jacob Geller has said.
If you liked this review, please go and check out Jacob Geller's video Tetris Effect And Other Games With Immaculate Vibes! It's the video that introduced me to this game, and he makes some really interesting observations on tetris and marble games, and how they interact with their history.
Additionally, I post these in my free time, but if anyone has movie, game, or series recommendations, please feel free to send them in! I really do love reviewing media, and if I can turn this into an actual job it would be incredible.

Midnight Gaming: Serious Tooning
So last night I played Serious Sam 2 past midnight, checked socials later to find.... nothing notable to report. Welp no news segment today.
So when I did my post on the serious sam games for midnight gaming, I felt a bit bad about how I felt about Serious Sam. I know the games are good when you're facing off against tons of enemies but at times, depending on the difficulty, it can either be slow to build up to that momentum with some difficulty spikes now and then or just downright malicious with enemy spawns. And then theres BFE which is just downright bad. So I decided last night to try and delve a bit more into serious sam and try to lock in to a game in the series that i've felt uneasy going close before: Serious Sam 2, a game that repelled me before because of its cartoony aesthetic.
So I decided to install the game on my steam deck, load it up and had trouble with the graphic settings. Trying to change the resolution ends with me having a black screen and needing to exit the game, I turn off settings like bloom and lens glare because they suck and of course, turn the dialogue and subtitles all off. Yeah similar to Borderlands 3, you can turn off the annoying dialogue which in my previous attempts at SS2 I didnt think to do. As a result I only got maybe halfway through the first world before quitting and never touching it again.
So heres the thing, I may or may not have seen this and forgot about it but apparently in 2021, Serious Sam 2 got an update which added a lot of features, starting a new game will present you with options to change the enemy amounts, allow for combo weapons, sprinting and to enable a radar. This is important because this made playing SS2 a lot more enjoyable this time around. Dual wielding any combination of weapons you want is one of those ideas that make you wonder why they didnt do it more often. Usually its just the pistols that can be dual wield, the vr titles let you do that while SS4 has it locked behind skills. Being able to fire a rocket launcher in one hand with a double barrel in the other for close encounters feels like the most ideal way to play serious sam, combine that with the grenade hotkey which is original to SS2 and you can effectively have three weapons at once.
That radar that was included in the update is also just a nice quality of life, showing enemies on the radar so you dont have to scan the enviroment for them. Wheres that screaming bomber running from? Right there on the radar pal. I actually ended up getting much further into SS2 this time around compared to my previous attempts, got to the asian stereotype planet before I called it for the night and I felt pretty satisfied. Before I said the cartoony vibes didnt vibe well with me but thinking on it, it actually does fit with the chaos of the Serious Sam series, the colourful hordes of enemies exploding in a color of death, what other genre works better than the one thats most associated with slapstick violence. The main issue was that the dialogue and cutscenes were trying to go for a saturday morning vibe with corny jokes that seem more geared towards children, in a game that contains a lot of over the top violence and gore. Speaking of cutscenes, for some reason the cutscenes played in two windows both overlayed with a green and purple hue. Since i've mostly been skipping them, its not that big of a deal.
So yeah, Serious Sam 2, a very unappealing game for its cartoony look, has now become one of my favourite serious sam games thanks to that update. Its kinda sad that the reception to this led to croteam abandoning any notion of doing any similar to it, in favour of the prequels but now I want a game that matches the chaos of 2 but without the corny attempts at humor, maybe aim for something like the saints row series? Infact, The Next Encounter was kinda like that.
All in all, i'm sorry Serious Sam 2, you were a lot better than I gave you credit, all it required was a few qol features and changes to break through the surface to what was great about you. Like a durian fruit, stench like hell but a taste like heaven. And for you reading this, maybe consider giving it a go too.
Croteam please bring The Next Encounter back. Remaster it or put up a port come on.
Thats all for today, thank you all for reading. Feel free to leave some feedback or game suggestions. Anons are currently on.

Contrast time! Impulse and Superboy both have issues featuring a surprise birthday party for the protagonist that's his first experience celebrating. But it plays out a bit differently for each.
(Impulse #22)
Most of the issue is Bart dragging Jesse Quick, who is babysitting him, along on a series of misadventures following Max, whom Bart believes is in danger. They arrive back in Manchester to find a surprise party for Bart's birthday waiting.
Max being in danger was a ruse. Iris needed Bart out of the house so she could set up the party, and Max, Jesse, and Wally were all in on it.
This is probably technically Bart's third birthday, although it's his first birthday party. No one was showing him this kind of love while he was running around in VR for two years.
The guests include his family (minus Helen, who wasn't living with Max and Bart yet, and Meloni, who wouldn't show up until #23) and his school friends Carol, Preston, Roland, and some others. (By the way, I am very amused that Roland has no idea that he spent the afternoon teaching video game techniques to the freaking Flash.)
(The Young Justice kids aren't there because the group hadn't formed yet, and the only one of them whom Bart knew at this point was Robin, whom he had recently met. And even if they had been close enough to warrant a party invitation, there's no way Tim would have been allowed to attend a civilian event like this.)
The story as a whole is light-hearted, and the emphasis is on the extent Bart's family is willing to go to to give him a happy birthday. He gets to celebrate surrounded by people who love him. It's very sweet.
(Superboy Annual #2)
Kon's first birthday is eventful. He makes a televised appearance at a charity event (where a grateful mother brings up the uncomfortable issue of his nonexistent parents), returns to Cadmus, comes face to face with the twelve failed clones who preceded him, meets and fights with his gradually deteriorating eldest "brother," finds out that he was cloned from Cadmus director Paul Westfield, and watches Experiment 1 die (and says it's like losing a part of himself). He has just come from a semi-helpful pep talk from Clark, who is too busy to stick around for the "red-letter day," and returns home to a surprise party.
Tana has done the math on how long it's been since Kon escaped from Cadmus and, with the begrudging help of Roxy, puts together a party for her boyfriend's first birthday apparently without once stopping to register how creepy it is that she is dating someone who literally just turned a year old.
The guest list is an interesting mix. Tana, of course. Dubbilex, Rex, Roxy, and Krypto, who live with Kon. FBI agent Sam Makoa, who...tolerates him. A few school friends. A boy in a red shirt and glasses whom the DC wiki identifies as Bart (whom Kon hardly knows at this point, goodness knows how Tana got hold of him). The truant officer who makes Kon's life miserable. Some of Tana's co-workers, I think. Note the guy with the video camera! Tana is having this televised. Of course she is. Just think of the ratings for a heartwarming news story like this!
Quite a few people show up, but note everyone's body language. With the exception of Tana's hug and Makoa doing a stiff hand-on-the-shoulder, no one's getting too close to Kon. These are not people on especially warm, close terms. Cf. Bart's guests above, who are drawn in tighter-knit, more dynamic arrangements. Kon's guests are more distanced and sometimes are just faceless silhouettes in the background.
Part of Clark's advice to Kon on how to deal with the news of a disappointing lineage was "Having a strong family helps." Dubbilex's comment, "For better or worse--for what it's worth--we are your family!"...isn't exactly reassuring.
There are people in Kon's life who care enough to throw him a party, and he's touched by this gesture. But all the same, there's something oddly missing from all this.
#comicsposting again#BA: fastest attitude alive#KE: all I got is who I am#I would like to think that for Kon's second birthday his YJ friends go out of their way to make it fun#...this was for tomorrow but I was editing and hit post instead of schedule so I guess you're getting spammed tonight

I HAVE RETURNED WITH A NEW IDEA!
Idea 15: Vanessa is good at bedtime stories
This idea is inspired by a point I made during idea 2 that I wanted to attempt to elaborate on. This is actually based on the fact that Vanessa's voice actor, Heather Masters, was known for reading children's books before getting involved in FNAF (I am not kidding, check her interview with Dawko ).
It is logical to assume that most young kids would probably get more nightmares when their parents are not at home. As such it would be a good idea to learn how to calm them down. Vanessa, as a teenager, initially made stories using the video games that she plays as a base. This turns out to work a lot better than she expects, so she continues to refine and use it until she stops babysitting when she goes off to college. This will be important later.
Anyways, let us set the scene. It has been a few weeks since the Pizzaplex decided to reenact the Sampoong Department store collapse. The robots have been handling their new “jobs” at Silver Parasol fairly well. Roxy and Monty serve as sources of motivation for the team. They have also taken up smaller versions of what they used to do; RC car racing for Roxy and setting up a small putting green for Monty. Chica makes lunch for everyone, proving she can make other things besides pizza in the process. Freddy helps organize schedules with the management. The Daycare Attendant serves as a sort of mental health checker, working with Roxy and Monty. And of course the ALMIGHTY MAPBOT “gives out” (forces people to take) maps for the building to the people working there, except for Vanessa, whom he decided to forgive after she fixed his speech issues. All of the animatronics do still interact with children when employees bring their own or their friends' children in for various reasons.
The VR games also turned out to be a hit, and with Fazbear Entertainment no longer taking any percentage of the profits, it is earning Silver Parasol a large amount of money. In fact, they have so much excess that they start making plans on buying a building to serve as a proper location for the animatronics. This idea was actually spearheaded by Vanessa because she feels bad that they don’t have a real “home” and wants to return the favor for them being so nice to her.
Speaking of Vanessa, after all these months, she can finally say with full confidence that she feels like her old self again. She is able to use knives, look at rabbits and not feel scared among other minor things. She has also become a lot more confident and outgoing than she used to be. Vanessa recently even went on an actual proper date with Luis.* It went really well, considering that they both are awkward nerds! So a lot of things are going well for our blonde…beneficiary?
* Everyone is just surprised that it didn't happen sooner. Roxy and Monty even had a bet going on for when they would do it, Roxy bet over 4 months and Monty bet under. Roxy won, meaning she and Chica got to “redecorate” Monty. I will let you decide what that means.
However the same cannot be said for Gregory. He has recently started to have terrible nightmares, which he hasn't had since before his mother died. The reason that he only appears to be having bad nightmares now is ironically because he now knows that he is in a safe and STABLE living situation. Back when he was living on the streets, staying silent at all times was key to surviving and not being caught. This included being quiet when sleeping, so he just stopped having nightmares. This continued for the first month or so he was living with Vanessa since he still didn't completely trust her yet. But now that she has proven herself to be an actually really good person and safe to be around, the nightmares have returned in full force.
They start out consisting of what you would expect for a kid like Gregory. Vague things such as being abandoned. Then they start to be about things like being chased by hundred pound animal themed death machines. He could handle those ones easily enough. As the months go on, they get worse, more specific. They start to involve Freddy turning evil, Vanessa turning back into Vanny. They usually end at that point because the real Freddy, in his plush form, notices that something is wrong and would wake Gregory up. He then comforts him by simply reassuring Gregory that it was just a nightmare and giving him a hug. However, this method has been getting less effective as time goes on.
Something else that you have to know is this, most of the animatronics are not good at storytelling or making up stories. They are simply not designed or programmed for it since they are not meant to be doing any activities that involve sleeping. You would think that the daycare attendant would be good at this since he is supposed to help kids fall asleep. He does tell stories, but they are preprogrammed and all end with some variation of the theme, "Buy Fazbear Entertainment merch" . This is because he was originally intended to generate his own stories like DJMM can generate music. However FE couldn't risk him coming up with a story that already existed and getting sued so they attempted to make their own. Also some of the in-game logs indicated that he isn’t even that good at getting kids to go to sleep regardless (yes I know he was partially hacked, but something tells me that the getting kids to go to sleep problem existed before this issue). Basically, Freddy and the gang are not good at getting kids to go back to sleep beyond basic reassurance.
Then one night, he has a nightmare that is worse than all of the others. He is cornered in a dark storage room inside of the pizzaplex, surrounded by all of the animatronics including Freddy. Gregory knows that they aren’t themselves, their eyes glowing a distinct purple. In the center of it all, is Vanny. She is in that disturbing suit that he saw burnt before his eyes, her posture aggressive and towering over him. The shadows over her mask make it appear even more deranged than normal, and her knife in hand ready to kill him and make his death as painful as possible. Before Gregory can even react, Vanny grabs him by the neck and forces him to the ground and raises her knife into the air. As he struggles to breathe all he can hear is Vanny’s insane laughter, so unlike Vanessa’s it is almost impossible to believe that they were once the same person. Vanny raises her arm and then plunges it into his chest. As searing pain and darkness overtake Gregory, he wakes up with a horrible scream.
Vanessa wakes up when she hears the noise and upon realizing that it came from Gregory, immediately rushes over to his room to see what’s wrong. Both Vanessa and Freddy are very concerned, because Gregory has NEVER cried or screamed before. Sure, he’s looked freaked out before, but never has he ever appeared to be this scared. Vanessa slowly and quietly moves to his bed and sits down to try and calm him down. Eventually Gregory’s crying is reduced to occasional sniffles Freddy is at a loss of what to do, so Vanessa decides to, hesitantly, ask Gregory if he would like to hear a story. Gregory at first wants to refuse because he is a big boi . However he looks up at Vanessa’s face that shows genuine concern, and with a sniffle says yes.
Vanessa starts telling a story about a kingdom and princess, one who brought joy and hope to all who saw her, who could almost literally brighten someone's day. She tells of how this princess was deceived by a stranger in purple, who then locked her inside her own castle dungeon and spread evil throughout the kingdom. But it was done in such a way that no one noticed anything was amiss. The differences were simply too subtle for anyone to notice.
Everyone except one person, a knight. One smaller than most, but no less brave. He was the only one to realize that something was wrong and ventured into the kingdom to figure out what was wrong and fix it. He quickly found some assistance in the form of a large yet friendly bear, who had somehow managed to avoid the corruption that had befallen the other creatures.
They discover that the kingdom has been corrupted and learn of a way to get rid of it using 3 keys or sorts. So the 2 go on an adventure to find these keys and save the kingdom. They encounter a multitude of trials and tribulations on their journey as the bear and knight bond and work together. In the end though they find the 3 keys, unlock the dungeons to free the princess and defeat the corruption, saving the day! And thus the 3 of them, the kind bear, the brave knight, and the imprisoned princess all lived happily ever after
By the time Vanessa has finished speaking, Gregory has fallen back asleep hugging both her arm and Freddy close. Freddy is just looking at her with that dad-like “I’m so proud of you” type expression instead of saying it since he doesn't want to wake Gregory up. Vanessa rolls her eyes but accepts the gesture. Upon seeing that she can’t go back to bed since Gregory has effectively latched onto her, she decides to just spend the night with him.
And thus, with no more nightmares to trouble them, the 3 of them have a rest filled night and will proceed to have many more. For although healing might take a long time and be full of setbacks, the end can make it all worth it. :)
Awwww I'm so happy that they have a happy live now (also YES I KNEW LUIS AND VANESSA WOULD DATE YES YES YES) AKHEM
The tale was adorable I wonder who the characters be based on *wiggles eyebrows*
(also r relationship between Gregory an Vanessa r more like sister and brother or mother and son?)

Project HD Devlog #1: Late to start writing
Project HD was the second of my late 2022-2023 VR game prototypes, it progressed far within the first month of development until I lost track of what I wanted it to be and started to develop Project CWD. Project HD was sort of a half accident half intentional mix of goofy action oriented gameplay mechanics for a VR action platformer, mostly revolving around having hammers for hands and needing blood to heal (Very original I know).
The blood part was sorta vaguely because I wanted that sort of blissful ignorance for how much health you have in games like Ultrakill, need health? just kill an enemy and bathe in their blood! I still have not implemented any method of this as in it's current form it lacks any organic entities, just the Squeakers which are named from their early prototype form (and the rubber domed tutorial version) producing a squeak from a dollar store Halloween rat decoration.
Originally they were just a red block with a knife that would either stab or do a spin attack, they have since grown to be weird stabby trashcans that slide around and if you're unfortunate enough to be sitting when it attacks you might get stabbed in the eye. The big conflict with the Squeakers is that their current version uses a character controller instead of a Navmesh agent and it can be very derpy (video below), which has been causing me to consider reverting them to the Navmesh version.
So now that I've infodumped about stuff nobody will care about or find interesting here's the real shit! Project HD relies on the ability to adjust how much mass your hand hammers have with the analog triggers which allows you to jump very significant heights and distances. The problem with this is that my headset uses inside out tracking which I thought caused a lot of inaccuracy and inconsistency in these jumps, however that was not the case. My partner (romantic) has a Valve Index which uses lighthouse tracking which is pretty much the best kind of tracking if you have space for it. So after 3-4 months of leaving Project HD dormant I opened it up in Unity and prepped the testing scene for a build.
After I sent my partner it I immediately had to rebuild it with proper controller configurations for the Valve Index controllers which was as simple as clicking a button or two. After trying it for a bit her takeaway from it was that it's movement and mechanics were "counter intuitive and inconsistent". Both things I didn't expect but now I was filled with glorious purpose, a reason to pick up the hammer and smack some C# with my crappy oem keyboard. In hindsight I should have seen both these problems coming, most weird movement mechanics in VR are sorta the inverse off a mass jump leading to the counter intuitiveness of it. The inaccuracy however was just me being a moron, an absolute hamster pressing the buttons and waiting to see a red error telling me to try that again. However in this case everything worked, not well but I didn't know any better at the time I wrote a lot of it. The entire hand controller script was updating with the framerate, sounds pretty normal for most things. Until you consider the fact that half of it was controlling physics objects.
So back to the purpose stuff, today (technically yesterday but hey that's what happens when you don't sleep till 6am like some kinda vampire gremlin) I started to change some stuff around to try to fix some of these issues. I started by adding interpolation to the rigid bodies of the hammers, which makes them feel a little sluggish but they almost come out feeling better like this. I then changed the entire hand script to run off FixedUpdate, meaning it updates with the physics tics which are consistent rather than the frame rate. Clearly having a wave of inspiration from the time spent on Project CWD I started to work on implementing post processing effects to get it closer to the visual style I wanted. I also set it up to change the effects based on health which ended up working really well with the existing effects of your energy hammers fading away more and flickering.
After two gameplay tests by myself the inconsistency of the mass jumps had been resolved feeling smooth and vastly more precise to respond to my intentions. The bloom and other post processing effects helped to really make things feel a lot more alive and even made me reconsider my stance on scrapping a certain parry indicator (story for another time). Thus I have begone developing Project HD again by accident and this time I wanted to share it somewhere other than Discord creative channels. I'm still very uncertain of what I want to do, I really like to make stuff like this and I really think it's a very fun game concept but my financial situation forces me to consider it as business and I'm not sure I'm good enough to ship a product worth paying for. My skills are varied across so many fields and none of them have a diploma to my name or are relevant to my existing job experience. That's part of why I post to accounts like this to serve as a sort of portfolio to prove to myself that I am capable of making things. That the years I've invested into this haven't been a waste. I've been considering trying to apply for a digital art position at some game development companies, but I'm also very much afraid of losing my time to projects I have no passion for and not having time or energy on the side to do what I really want to be doing. To anyone that read this far thank you and sorry. Writing this has given me some confidence that this is what I should be doing, that I should keep crawling like the worm I am.

*Everyone is just surprised that it didn't happen sooner.
Then they start to be about things like being chased by the animatronics.
Also some of the in-game logs indicated that he isn’t even that good at getting kids to go to sleep regardless (yes I know he was partially hacked, but something tells me that the getting kids to go to sleep problem existed before this issue ).
I'm not crying; it's my allergies
I just watched the interview, and all I can say is that it will never not be funny that Heather Masters had zero idea that Baby's purpose is to kill kids.
And for context, for other people, this was the second part of the theory:
Idea 2: Vanessa is great with kids
Contrary to most fics, where "freed" Vanessa acts exactly the same as Vanny, just not evil; I believe that in the pre-Help Wanted era, Vanessa was actually great with children. My reasoning is as follows:
Fazbear Entertainment wants to improve their reputation before the VR game release and the pizzaplex opening.
Decide to make each of their "branches" (companies that work for them) send one of their employees to schools to talk about their job as a way to "be transparent."
Vanessa's job is basically "play/ break video games," so Steel Parasol, the company that made FNAF VR in this universe, decides to send her out.
Vanessa finds working with the kids to be very enjoyable. Her positive and bubbly personality (as evidenced by the cut FNAF AR emails) makes the kids really like her. They are blown away by the idea that they can be paid to play video games.
Vanessa especially likes when some of those kids get that look of "I have found what I want to do with my life."
It's a win for everyone! Vanessa inspires some kids to get into tech, the children get a newfound love for technology, and Fazbear Entertainment's reputation goes up...slightly.
All this just serves to make the whole "Vanny" thing even worse, especially if some of her victims were those same kids Vanessa once talked with."
--
I don't have much else to add, but Vanessa being good with kids/being kind person at heart, will forever be my favorite type of theory (and story).
This story was beautifully written, and I enjoyed reading it. I love the idea of Vanessa turning her own personal trauma into something helpful.

I have returned with another idea!
Idea 15: Vanessa is good at bedtime stories
This idea is inspired by a point I made during idea 2 that I wanted to attempt to elaborate on. This is actually based on the fact that Vanessa's voice actor, Heather Masters, was known for reading children's books before getting involved in FNAF (I am not kidding, check her interview with Dawko).

I'm not sorry to say yer not getting that arm back anytime soon Ness. This likely won't be the last nightmare Gregory has, so you'll have to get ready and set for some impromptu sleep overs whenever that happens. XD And it's absolutely adorable and precious and I can totally see Gregory accidentally calling Ness "Mom" when asking what happens next.
And yes, I shamelessly support Mama Ness dynamic alongside the Sibling One. XP But that aside, while I am beyond glad that Vanessa is healing, I do can't help but find the unlucky happenstances rather depressing, on account that Vanny, the psycho furry she is, specifically, and sporadically went after kids that Vanessa read, talked, and watched over during the whole possession period.
I can only hope this new dynamic doesn't really cause any flashbacks or unintended parallel's within Vanessa while she reads Gregory bedtime stories in order to distract him from the nightmares.
But aside from that, I do fully stand behind the fact that the Glamrock's are not at all programmed to take care of kids. Entertain them yes, as well as being careful as to not crush them accidentally underfoot, but caring for them for extended periods of time? Not so much.
And the thing with the Daycare Attendant only knowing Preprogrammed Fazbear Made stories make sense on account that on the Party Room White Boards; the one's with the Birthday Set's for the room, there's a note that says Freddy or any of the Glamrock's are only allowed to sing Fazbear approved birthday songs and the like.
So it'd make sense if such a thing was attributed to the Daycare Attendant as well. Who, i will also readily admit, probably had a lot of trouble getting kids to take a nap on account of how frecking colorful the Daycare is.

So I had a sudden need to invent 2 new side characters for my novel on the fly (how I make most of my characters, I'm not good at prep work or character development in advance when writing. I make characters to fit a need and flesh them out or not as the feeling takes me later). Anyways, these two had to be online gaming friends of the main character and her best friend, so I didn't have to come up with normal names or know how they look irl, I just needed their online names and the appeances they chose for their game avatars. Here's what I came up with:
Hi_Im_Fish - nickname Fishy. Plays an alchemist/witch/healer class. Avatar is small and chubby and cheerful with a witchy aesthetic. She has splash potions and comes up with interesting ways to attack people by use of chemicals and a little magic. Good with poisons and also healing.
Sleepy_Moon - nickname Moon. Plays a straight mage. Is tall and large and soft both physically and aesthetically and is of indeterminate gender. The game they play is a full dive vr and Moon has sensory issues from being autistic so that's why their aesthetic is so soft, they choose the softest clothes. They picked magic in the first place because the robes looked soft, but then it became their special interest.
Anyways these two are now my special babies.

Vanny raises her arm and then plunges it into his chest, blood soaking into his shirt.
Sure, he’s looked freaked out before, but NEVER appeared to be this scared.

GUESS WHOS BACK?
I got a new idea/ rambling to share!
*Everyone is just surprised that it didn't happen sooner.
Then they start to be about things like being chased by hundred pound animal themed death machines (sadly not like those ones).
He does tell stories, but they are preprogrammed and all end with some variation of the theme, "Buy Fazbear Entertainment merch". Aight going through this one bit at a time with a read more because this is all real long
Babysitting and college? I don’t remember where any of that came from. Is it canon she did those things or something you like to think she did? Just curious
Okay I was gonna go through it slowly but this all sounds so good. Like, Vanessa making up the story of Princess Quest would be so cool and she could carry on from there, right? The adventures of the little brave knight and the friend’s he makes on every step of his journey. All of which, inspired by shenanigans everyone gets up to together. The Little Brave Knight and the Wingless Dragon taking on the dreaded, monstrous dust bunnies – they were making a huge deal of tidying up one day – and then the story of The Little Brave Knight exploring the forest at night with the Wolf that can outrun even the fastest of cheetahs – they snuck out to see what the nearby forest was like at night and it turned into an impromptu camping trip where they had to desperately run back before anyone woke up and find them gone – and The Little Knight on a quest to find the secret ingredients for the Magical Chicken’s Magic Cure for the princess – Vanessa got sick and they were both playing doctor’s over it. Like, they’d all have one!
The Little Brave Knight being rescued by the Great Boating Lake Kraken (DJ) – they went to a lake and DJ had to fish Gregory out of the river. The Little Brave Knight saving Princess Sunny from the tower guarded by the Wingless Dragon – Monty was running around with Sunny over his shoulder because his leg was damaged and Sunny kept getting upset Monty was taking him literally everywhere but where he wanted to go. The Little Brave Knight discovering the secrets of the Moon – Moon was being shady about a gift or their feelings or whatever and they all were struggling to figure out what was up. The Little Brave Knight and the four Spider Musketeers outsmarting the princess and the new prince and escaping with all the treasure – Vanessa and Luis wouldn’t let Gregory eat all the cookies before dinner so he and the Minis stole them all.
Infinite potential here! Fun stuff!
And what’s to say she only tells these stories to Gregory? If the others sleep – which, given that they’re all conscious I’d be very surprised if they didn’t – then maybe they also have the problem of nightmares? Vanessa appearing to an unconsolable Roxy or Chica who took a nap at work and Gregory convinces her to tell them a story to distract them. At some point, they suggest she start up a children’s book company.
She’d be great at it!
