Other than learning from the masters, it’s also important to experiment on your own. To paint from life seems very daunting, but @billy_showell always encourage us to do it. So I started with a small project: just 2 leaves. I tend to lay the first colors a bit too dark, here I am again. But we learn better from fixing our own problems. Birch painting which I did just a few hours ago 🤗 ...#LeafLoveParty really is a challenge right? 😅 i’m not used to painting leaves and I took this challenge as a way to practice it. For this piece, I tried another way of adding the veins, by marking the paper with the tip of my brush handle, then I keep adding layers. I wanted to paint loosely but I just can’t stop adding more details. Hence it’s an in-between, a semi-loose/semi-detailed piece. •• Happy painting, people! I’ve yet to go through your lovely entries, but please do keep painting, and remember to enjoy the process!
