Raz: i have dealt with three large dumbass not!cats already and i'm retired, dammit. Also this one is especially irritating because it keeps licking me.

(Sierra does the same low-haunches yoda-ears wiggly chin/jaw/lip licking to Raz that she does with Samus and occasionally Zelda, and it is is objectively hilarious watching a 70 pound 11 month old puppy try to lick the jaw of a roughly 13 pound cat that doesn't even come up to her knees.)

Mike and I recreated our last date in KL circa 2019. Since that date, I came over to visit Mike in SF right before lockdown began, applied to grad school, navigated our long distance relationship during the pandemic, quit my job, moved across the world with my bosscat Elsa to close the physical gap between us. Since then, I’ve grown a disgustingly large amount and that doesn’t look like it’ll change in 2023. I got engaged to the love of my life. I found my hard limits and burned out a couple of times in the process. I learned to voice my many insecurities and anxieties as they arise and delve deeper into their roots, especially as they relate to polyamory. I learned how to build better boundaries for myself - the hard way. I started couples therapy with Mike as we grapple with the challenges of our partnership and learn to accept each other as we are. It’s been both incredible and difficult and I am so grateful for the encouragement I continue to receive as we learn how to make our relationship work for the both of us. We’ve just come back from a whirlwind trip back home for me - full of friends and family and fun, and navigating again what it means to be two individuals with varying needs, learning to support ourselves and each other. This year, I just want to take things a day at a time - slowly, softly, and surely. Life is a long game. There is no rush.
