My cat was just laying in the middle of the room and watched me get up to go to the bathroom to look for my phone and come back to sit on the bed, then he watched his mom (adoptive, also his wife, a cat) go to sit under our step stool. Then he ran under the bed, IMMEDIATELY forgot where we are, and ran into the bathroom screaming for us at midnight. I said "What?????" And he bolted across the room to my lap to demand pets and then go harass his mom.
In contrast after being harassed she used the litter box and immediately went to the sink to try to wash her hands, going so far as to turn on our sink and bat her paw in the water. She was clearly confused about how to wash her back paws but I think that's fair?

#dead leaf for leafpool and gull feathers for feathertail#like yeah it's funny that cherith does whatever the hell she wants as soon as she's in the driver's seat#but it's also baffling and frustrating that she wanted this in the first place#crowfeather or at least the version of him in my head is a fun and interesting character because he's shitty#in the newer books there's been a weird attitude toward him where the other characters think he's irritable but also noble and attractive#also tawnypelt is such a nothing character it's upsetting that all she's ever been is an accessory to the men around her#her father her brother her mate her son her grandson(s)#and her pov is no longer merely boring but actually insufferable thanks to her poorly handled “kids these days” plots#if it were up to me#the new prophecy would focus more on tawnypelt feeling out of place in shadowclan and struggling to prove her loyalty#contrasting brambleclaw who is generally accepted in thunderclan but victimizes himself due to his insecurity#i would also explore how tawnypelt and rowanclaw get together since he hates her in one scene and then they're lovey dovey in the next#although this does seem to be the basis of many warriors relationships#i'm not sure how i feel about tawnypelt getting a second mate as an elder but i don't want to begrudge old people finding love again#so i'm fine with it as long as it's not crowfeather#as for crowfeather#he would fall hard and fast for feathertail because she's pretty and shows him kindness but i want it to be one-sided#then he would fall hard and fast for leafpool for the same reasons#she runs away with him not because she loves him but because clan society is suffocating and she needs an escape#so when they get back to the clans she moves on pretty quickly but he lives a long and miserable life pining after her#his clanmates quietly avoid him because they don't like him that much because why would they and so he never becomes deputy#i can see him trying to reconnect with breezepelt and nightcloud as an elder#not necessarily because he realizes how shitty he is but because he wants a relationship with his granddaughters but it's strained#and then he dies! i'm tired of writing and being frustrated by these stupid books so i'm ending it here#changing skies spoilers#crowfeather#warrior cats#eel art#eel text

i don't think I've ever enjoyed a birthday party with friends as much as today i am genuinely getting a bit teary eyed
#initially i wasn't planning to do anything but then i thought what the hell what if we go out to drink something#except it was all very up in the air so a good deal of folks couldn't come (which is fine that one's on me)#but the two who COULD make it are genuinely some of the funniest motherfuckers I've ever met and one of them brought his gf along#and we hit it off IMMEDIATELY and THEN we ran into another pal I hadn't seen in a while and hadn't had the chance to invite in person#who also joined in after he finished hanging out with other people and they got me a present????? 😭#i haven't had a birthday with friends in fucking . 3 years between covid and everyone i knew moving away#I'm so happy i think my heart is going to explode#which ik. hey isn't that a very boring and simple hangout YES but also not to me baby i have been in a depression isolation all my teens#i started to genuinely enjoy my day to day life like. 4 months ago ever since starting uni#it feels like turning a new leaf yknow? like. i made it. i made it out. god i could cry#sorry I'm a little drunk

obsessed with the oilers constantly crashing headfirst into nonsense that only the toronto maple leafs of the 1940s have done and noone else ever (went down 0-3 in the stanely cup finals and forced a game 7, played the joint-most measurably boring game in history). wonder what else they will do
#so fun fact the leafs game was more boring because it was tied 0-0 with 0 penalties#like onlyyy the goalies were playing that night#did some digging in that season they also won a game 12-3 so.#also the game page on hockey-reference for that 1944 game is like a ghost town#like straight zeroes across the board except for the goalies who both had 60.00 toi#bc they didnt track shots or skater toi back then so like . noone freaking did anything for a full hour#anyway. does anyone know what the toronto maple leafs of the 1940s did and if theres any further possibility of the edmonton oilers of toda#managing to repeat it
