Emily Robb - If I Am Misery Then Give Me Affection

Philly guitarist Emily Robb is back with another slab of unearthly (but also quite earthy somehow) six-string workouts. Robb's sometime tourmate Rosali Middleman recently released a great collection of electric guitar instrumentals under the Edsel Axle moniker and If I Am Misery is a perfect chaser. The pieces here take great pleasure in the simple essentials — pure volume, amp buzz, feedback, raw melodies. Robb is a master at coaxing unusual sounds from her axe, always going in unexpected directions, but still remaining deeply rooted to the source. While this is a solo album, it definitely rocks — like a VU bootleg or a vintage PSF LP. Don't forget to boogie.

There was apparently another Keith-Charlie song that was written directly (possibly just minutes) before "Alteration Boogie" called "Disposition Boogie" (different from "Mean Disposition," another song written in this period) that I haven't been able to find anywhere, on any of the compilation videos/bootleg album uploads on YouTube from the Voodoo Lounge sessions. I'm still looking for it, but I wanted to ask you about it in case it's something you've found somewhere or have heard at one point or another. My interest is piqued because this is the first song listed in Elliott's book that I've had this much difficulty finding, which makes me think it could potentially be something suspicious/worth burying à la the Denis O'Regan biting picture. It's also possible that it's just an instrumental, since there were a few of those also written in this period, but as it has such a specific title in the same vein as the song which follows it, I'm not sure.

I love listening to the Red Rocks bootleg because I’ll listen to night 3 and think ‘I was there!’ or ‘i know what I was doing at that moment!’ Like right before Digital Black I was playing Pokémon SoulSilver or when they were about to play Cut Throat Boogie I gave my friend “the vegemite stare”. Man. That was awesome
