Hello everyone and hope youā€™re doing well, whatever youā€™re doing and wherever you are in the world! Today I was inspired to take part in the #threebooksinoneday challenge which I saw over on @breathe.andread page. The idea is, a magical genie šŸ§žā€ā™€ļø appears and gives you the opportunity to read three books from your TBR in just one day. What would you choose? šŸ§ Iā€™ve chosen three chunky beasts: Middlemarch by George Eliot Iā€™ve just recently got back into classics and although Iā€™ve read some pretty meaty books recently (hello Count Of Monte Cristo šŸ˜‚) I keep gulping when I look at this one! The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton This has been on my shelves and Iā€™ve been banging on about reading it for so many years. Will 2023 be the year I just DO IT? Weā€™ll see! Hame by Annalena McAfee This is such a beautiful book that I picked up in perfect condition from a bookshop near Tottenham Court Road, London. Set in Scotland, I must get round to reading this! Which three books would you choose? Feel free to have a go or tell me in the comments below! #bookstagramuk #scottishbookstagrammer #readingtheclassicsšŸ“š #middlemarch #georgeeliotfans #penguinclothboundclassicsaremytruelove #theluminaries #eleanorcatton #hame #annalenamcafee #booksthatremindyouofhome #chunkybooksarethebest #booksineedtoreadasap #booksimexcitedfor https://www.instagram.com/p/Co-hDJ3rlcB/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Hello everyone and happy Saturday to you all! Today is another stop on my #authornamestack inspired by the lovely Kelly at @smeets_x who looked for recurring author names on her shelves. Today itā€™s Clare/Claire. Our Endless Numbered Days by Claire Fuller @writerclairefuller (one of my favourite books EVER) Small Pleasures - Clare Chambers (loved this when I read it fairly recently and already want to re-read it) When The Floods Came - Clare Morrall (TBR) The Night Rainbow - Claire King (TBR) Daughters Of Sparta - Claire Haywood (TBR) What recurring names are on your shelves? Have you read any of these? Letā€™s have a chat in the comments! Have a lovely weekend everyone šŸ¤—šŸ˜˜ #bookstagram #scottishbookstagrammer #favouritebooksever #ourendlessnumbereddays #clairefuller #smallpleasures #clarechambers #whenthefloodscame #claremorrall #thesuddenappearanceofhope #clairenorth #thenightrainbow #claireking #daughtersofsparta #claireheywood #booksimexcitedfor https://www.instagram.com/p/CiVhEf9rzw1/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Hello everyone and am I glad itā€™s Friday today?? šŸ˜… Itā€™s my first week back to work post COVID and even though I donā€™t seem to be experiencing long COVID symptoms, Iā€™ve still been very tired. This book haul was a treat after I met bestie @keeperofpages in London for a catch up. šŸ„° When I Sing Mountains Dance was a cover/title buy but Iā€™m totally won over by the synopsis too. Itā€™s described as being as much about the mountains and mushrooms šŸ„šŸ¤Ø as about the human drama that unfolds in their midst. Iā€™m intrigued. Secondly, Iā€™ve had my eyes on Maps Of Our Spectacular Bodies for a while. Itā€™s described as a passionate coming of age story, a meditation on illness and death and a kaleidoscope journey through one womanā€™s life - told in part by the malevolent voice of her disease. Yes please. Next up, Hurricane Season which Iā€™m planning to read quite soon. The Witch is dead. And the discovery of her corpse by a group of children propels the whole village into an investigation of how and why this murder occurred. Finally, I picked up this title becauseā€¦ how could you not?! Drive Your Plow Over The Bones Of The Dead is a suspenseful and entertaining re-imagining of the detective genre interwoven with poignant and insightful commentaries on our perceptions of madness, marginalised people and animal rights. Have you read any of these books? Or are you now intrigued to check them out? Hi everyone and happy Friday!! Today Iā€™m taking a break from hauling twice a week as Iā€™m almost on top of my hauls šŸ˜‚ and sharing another shelf from my bookshelf tour. This shelf contains fiction from authors where their surname begins with L going into M and are currently all unread. I do have plans to get to Apeirogon, The Shadow King, Consent and Things We Say In The Dark, the latter of which I think I remember @victoria_catherine_shaw loving. Swipe across to see the front of the shelf (yes Iā€™ve double stacked šŸ˜‚) If youā€™ve read any of these books and want to recommend them, please feel free. Also, if youā€™d like to buddy read any of them with me, let me know! Letā€™s have a chat in the comments šŸ„° #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookshelftour #mybookcollection #tbrpile #booksimexcitedfor #apeirogon #columnmccann #consent #annabellyon #thingswesayinthedark #kirstylogan #theshadowking #maazamengiste #iwillreadtheseoneday https://www.instagram.com/p/CXBuHh_A1an/?utm_medium=tumblr

Time for part 5 of my book haul? I think so!! šŸ˜œ Here are three gorgeous paperbacks I couldnā€™t resist. The Wilkie Collins is inspired by the fabulous @savidgereads I canā€™t believe Iā€™ve never read Wilkie Collins before šŸ˜± Then we have Valentine which I heard a lot of buzz about when it was released in hardback but Iā€™ve waited patiently for the paperback to be released. I think the lovely Kerrie from @lovedreadingthis enjoyed this one? Correct me if Iā€™m wrong Kerrie! Finally we have another Isabel Allende. I really want to read more of her work and have also got her memoir on my TBR which I showed yesterday. Iā€™d love to know any of your thoughts on these books or authors. Letā€™s have a chat in the comments! Part 6 coming tomorrow! šŸ¤Ŗ #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #enormousbookhaul #bookhaul #paperbackbooks #paperbackhaul #sorrynotsorry #bookobsessed #valentine #elizabethwetmore #wilkiecollins #armadale #isabelallende #alongpetalofthesea #booksimexcitedfor #toberead https://www.instagram.com/p/CN-1VQvLcJk/?igshid=18tyyjlq312dl
