[Image Description: Drawing of a small, dark yellow dragon taking a nap on top of a a couple of books, above which it reads 'It's okay to disconnect for a while'. The books are flat and in the middle of a bookshelf. There are other books on that shelf, and we can see the end of books from the shelves above and below. The dragon has pale yellow horns and pale yellow highlights on its wing. If you zoom in, you can see that the base of one of the dragon's paws is facing us. It has a pink pad and toes. End ID.]

Pedri, together with Plátano de Canarias, launches a children’s book called ‘Pedri y la leyenda de las botas de oro’ 📚
“Pedri is one of the best players in the Spanish national soccer and F. C Barcelona, but do you know how he has become so good? Pedri's story begins in Tenerife, the fabulous Canary Island where thousands of bananas grow and there is a huge dormant volcano… and something else. At the top lives a dragon that guards a unique treasure that can change the life of any child who wants to be a soccer player. In theory, I'm dark academia. In practice, I'm chaotic academia
#i don't have any fancy clothes nor do i attend a gothic university with vampires lurking amongst the student body#the closest thing to dark academia that i possess is burnt out gifted kid syndrome#i was that one kid you'd find reading books or doodling at the back of the classroom and just wanted to go home and not study at all#chaotic academia is more my style because of its unrefinedness that makes it really versatile and relatable in a way#dark academia#dark academia aesthetic#indian dark academia#poc dark academia#chaotic academia#chaotic academic aesthetic#indian chaotic academia#poc chaotic academia#the insomniac archives

My question of the day:
How do you approach writing the Room of Requirement?
Do you have it be a room that changes based on what’s needed (ie a simple broom closet, the Room of Hidden Things, a place to keep the Mirror of Erised, Dumbledore’s Army meeting place, etc), or do you treat it like how it is in-game, as kind of a customizable workshop with the vivariums? I’m just curious bc I’m writing about it now and I’m treating it more like the former, but I am positive that other people treat it like how it appears for us in the game🫶
#I don’t really read for this fandom but what I have seen it’s been more like in game#but for all of the hp fanfic I’ve read I’ve seen some REALLY creative uses for it that I thought were so cool too#and even in the books it’s so versatile!!#but I also#love how it’s approached in the game and I love thinking of it as a way to research or study without being bothered#(idk how I feel about the vivariums though bc I’m not interested in magical beasts and neither is Eloise😆)#hogwarts legacy#hphl#hogwarts legacy fandom

Quinn and her dad just trying to have an emotional reunion:
Rust & Cole in the background:

#clown in a cornfield#clown in a cornfield spoilers#quinn maybrook#ruston vance#cole hill#I was fighting for my life trying not to laugh during this scene#tho I was v happy to see rust and cole get their Big Damn Reunion straight from the book#minus the CPR and skipping straight to sloppy makeout#also v happy that Quinn and her relationship with her dad remained her most important relationship in the film#shoutout to Kupadraws on Twitter for the bottom pic- truly a versatile image#I rlly need to see the movie again- curious how non-book readers liked it#was actually a p close adaptation despite the casting and excision of at least one major plot point#actually appreciated what they did add because providing a little more context to rust & cole’s relationship#helped the kiss feel like a natural conclusion to their underlying tension#book two delves more into their romantic relationship and how their trauma from that night strains it#but book one doesn’t provide much background on their childhood friendship that was clearly a little more intense than anyone knew

Bruh, I am prolly slow on the uptake, but I'm realizing that, considering their magic is heavily influenced by imagination, it's no WONDER Kalim's magic, especially his defensive magic, is so weak.
Because he's always had everything handed to him or done for him by others, especially Jamil, of course his imagination would never compare. Bc he's never HAD to long for anything, never had to think of anything for himself besides what he was told/given, outside certain circumstances!
Is it a wonder he was able to manifest his magic at an age when Jamil was attending another school away from him? When Kalim himself WANTED to and tried so HARD at something, likely for the first time in his life, to manifest his magic to be JUST LIKE Jamil?
Tbh, the best thing that ever happened to Kalim was not really Jamil. Bc incidentally, the way they were raised, it only served to limit Kalim both in life experiences and magic, having Jamil do everything for Kalim. He never needed to work on honing his magic when Jamil could take care of potions, when Jamil could defend him and take the brunt of the grunt work.
Thus, the best possible thing to have happened to Kalim really having to make his own friends outside of him at Night Raven. Like when he used Oasis Maker to entertain Crowley with excellent control and skill ( likely something he learned to do for shows with the Pop Music Club, I bet! ). Or how when he had to make a party without Jamil's help, Ruggie let him learn how to cook with only using magic and the food STILL turned out to be a hit despite it being Kalim's first shot at it! Or how he was able to surprise Jamil by making the river to bring Octavinelle, himself and Yuu'n Grim back to Scarabia after the boy'd dismissed his Signature Spell as useless.
#✮┆ ( .ooc. );#//I want to know more about his Signature Spell; tbh#//Bc those are said to be influenced by a person's wishes in the moment; like Deuce wanting to protect Epel; & Epel to Yuu/Rook#//WHY did Kalim get an water summoning based spell; when he and Jamil both say it'd be obsolete in that day and age?#//Could it be bc Kalim wanted a versatile magic; to be able to help and entertain at once?#//Hence; bc water always changes to shift in its vessel; his magic responded & made it so he would Never have to limit the water he summons#//BC THAT'S FUCKEN CRAZY#//If ppl say Kalim has low/small magic reserves; WHY CAN HE HAVE AN INFINITE WATER HACK WITH HARDLY ANY DRAWBACKS#//Did he desperately want smth useful and THAT was the result??#//Esp smith tied to how his family canonically facilitated water acquisition and distribution back in the early days???#//Did he want to be like the great 'Ruler of the Oasis' and want a spell that could ref that AND bring joy to others???#//Bc it would be SO in tune with who he is to have a spell that can bring joy to others; esp considering how beautifully he enacted the#water birds he made for entertaining Crowley. Bc AS FAR AS WE KNOW; he didn’t PRACTICE that before!#//Anyways; this isn't meant to inform or anything#//It's me writing the thinking's down for myself to find for later reference jdfhbfgk#//Its so sad to me that of all things; the best thing for Kalim would be to separate from Jamil entirely. bc that is when he THRIVES#//See: Playful Land. KALIM ultimately saved everyone; no magic required. just some good ol Talk no Jutsu ndbxb#//Likewise Jamil is funniest and most expression Without Kalim too#//Bit they both CHOOSE to stick together even still#//Kalim; who will Always choose Jamil no matter what; who adores him like he’s even better than himself like breathing#//Who didn’t hesitate to jump rightt in after him when the darkness would have taken him away#//Jamil; who even after being told he doesn’t HAVE to bc others can step up; adamantly CHOOSING to stick with & save Kalim in Book 5#//When Rook was RIGHT THERE to protect him or carpet could have gone for him themself#//Still dreamed of having Kalim close; even TRUSTED that dream Kalim; even as real Kalim kept fumbling on purpose#//ESP since Floyd’s dream showed that if it suits the person’s narrative; they could be written out. WHY was Kalim still in Jams life there#//Jamil; who butts into Kalim’s things when even Kalim’s got a handle on things for once (one of the Halloween events)#//Bc Kalim totally NAILED how to scare ppl; WHY did Jamil feel the need to spell him and take over??#//If need be; he could have simply backed him up if he failed; WHY expend that extra effort??#//Idk; it’s interesting to me jcnc#//Veered off topic but ye lol—the biggest reason Kalim’s as ‘incompetent’ as he is IS THE VERY PERSON COMPLAINING ABT IT. the IRONY

i started white nights
if i didn't know beforehand, i wouldn't recognize that this is the same author of crime and punishment
#the writing style is different i think#that also reflects the versatility of fyo in portraying the chaos and silence in one's mind troubled by existential crisis and questions#white nights is a smoother read than c&p#fyodor dostoevsky#dostoevsky#books#white nights#crime and punishment

you know i'm usually the last person to have strong opinions on movie casting announcements but the idea of jacob elordi playing heathcliff stirs a fiery sense of indignation in my heart
#text post#i guess there was also timmy chalamet as dylan that's just downright stupid casting but honestly idc#i'm not gonna see that movie anyway i promise you#im kinda over dylan hype in the year of our lord 2024. let's pay tribute to other 60s acts ok#the 60s weren't just the beatles and bob dylan i promise#wheras wuthering heights certainly doesn't need another adaptation but i can't say i wouldn't watch one#like the story just is timeless and versatile. i think it just does hold up to retellings. it's one of those stories#i don't think i'll ever find one i like more than the 1939 one but that's ok#also it's been said nd this is a huge point so i may as well say it aloud even though i feel like we should all be on the same page already#seriously another white heathcliff in the year of our lord 2024?#i understand that the race of heathcliff is ambiguous but theres almost no room for arguing heathcliff is STRICTLY and CERTAINLY white#like it's not specified or stated in the text but it's just plain uncontroversial to ASSUME heathcliff is at least a biracial poc#his dark skin is referred to all over the place in the book. he's mistreated for it. cmon#it's just gotta have the popular hot white boy of the month#who frankly doesn't even look the part of heathcliff even if you WERE to whitewash the character as has been done many times#be so for real#i don't think margot robbie is super right for cathy bc she just kinda should be playing older roles at this point. all love for her#but like cathy is maybe in her early 20s at oldest. margot robbie doesn't look that young anymore and thats ok#i love her but it's just strange to picture cathy the immature coquette being mid-30s#she also does look noticeably older than elordi whereas they're supposed to be the same age#but i don't take issue w her playing cathy at like nearly the level of elordi as heathcliff#that makes me sick to my stomach honestly#and no i'm not like a hater of this actor for like moral reasons idfc about him but just. as heathcliff? no.#no no no no. never

wouldn’t want spotify likes to be public at all except i desperately want to know who liked my oc playlist
#personal#you cannot tell it is a playlist for ocs in any way whatsoever#also saying it’s an oc playlist is generous and perhaps inaccurate. it’s not how i’m conceptualizing it at all#it’s vibes for a book i will conceivably write one day once i decide to write original fiction again and also learn how to write horror#which is not the genre i thought id go with for it but i’ve been reading a lot of horror novels#and they offer a lot of versatility! because the best thing would be mystery and i have no interest in writing that at all atm#anyway. basically i’m in love with this person

Thank you <3
🐰 What do you think says the most about a person?
There a few things but the first that came to mind was is how a person treats staff (restaurant, hotel, retail workers etc) and homeless peeps.
🌴 Desert island item?
Lord of the Rings Trilogy book box 😂

over the years I've warmed to Wil Wheaton and kind of cooled a bit toward Neil Gaiman. It's all a matter of being a certain sort of part of the community. Wheaton has grown as a person, Gaiman has perhaps grown a bit too comfortable with a level of celebration around television.
#wil is leaning left and having awakenings#neil is leaning into tv land and thinking habits#I'll always love the first sandman books#I'll never quite be able to treasure good omens on television because it is not For Me in the way his old work used to be#now it is For The Normal which is fine! truly! but there's no place for me there#I do not care for the updated material - it robbed the original of its scope and versatility
