Our friend, Plague Doctor Crowrona, wanted us to highlight some spooky and paranormal books that we are unhauling just in time for Halloween! These are just a few of the books you can find in our Pango shop (along with So Many Others, we currently have like 82 books for sale!) if you are looking for some inexpensive used books.
Here's Our Pango Shop Link
Don't forget to use our code "POLYCRAFTORY" for $5 off if you are new to Pango! It can be used in our shop if you see something you like or for any other shop on Pango <3

You know you’re a bookworm when you unhaul a bunch of your old books and immediately start thinking about which books to replace them with 🤭

I unhauled 4 tote bags of books today 🙌
Some are books I’ve read but don’t plan to again & wanted to give them new homes
Others were books I haven’t read but have lost interest in over the years they’ve been sitting on my shelf 🤷‍♀️
Idk how many books total there were 😅 & we also added a box of my moms books
But I got $54 for them & I spent it all on the books in the second pic 😂😂😂
& now I have some room on my shelves for the book order I have on the way 😂

Do you unhaul books or just hold onto everything?
Today is the last day for #ShopYourShelvesBingo hosted by @loveinpanels and I'm wrapping things up with the 'weed an already read book' prompt. My completed bingo card will be in my stories.
I'm terrible about actually getting rid of books, but I do tend to take things off my shelf and banish them to my closet when I don't want them anymore or am deciding whether or not to keep them. These four books are some of my current contenders right now.
• The Holiday Swap by Maggie Knox was cute but ended with a pregnancy, so that was an immediate nope from me.
• My Best Friend's Exorcism by Grady Hendrix was okay. I liked the classic scary movie elements, but it's not something I'll ever reread. I've basically been keeping it as a prop.
• Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng was an enjoyable read and I enjoyed it far more than the show. It's another that I won't be rereading and don't know why I've kept it.
• Daisy Jones & the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid was okay. I liked the interview format and probably would have liked it more if I'd have done the audio. But with recent events surrounding Carrie Soto, I won't be reading anything else by this author and didn't love the book enough to keep it.
It's hard letting go. Especially when you've spent money on things. But it's time. These are coming off my shelf and might find their way to being resold or donated.

Behold! One small pile of items, traded to Half Price Books in exchange for $4. A mix of leftover bag sale fodder and 5 items I officially relinquished from my shelves. Thought it'd be fun to have a record both for myself and for anyone who is curious about other people's offers.
(plz excuse the leaning tower, as the bed is often the only clear surface)

I ended up DNF’ing Tunnel of Bones by V.E. Schwab. I didn’t care much for the first book but I decided that I would try the second book because I believed that the second book might save the series for me and make me want to keep the first book. But, I got 40% of the way into the second book and I just didn’t care enough to finish it.
City of Ghost is going to my unhaul pile.

Spent this week stuffing the local little free libraries!
I went through all my books, read and unread, a massive undertaking that took days. Also sweat and tears. Plus some screaming. Maybe some screeching.
But: ✨️ Over 100 Books Unhauled!!!!! ✨️

I've been inspired by @ofliterarynature to ask Bookblr for help with unhauling some of my TBRs. If you reblog this poll, feel free to explain your choice. I'd even be happy to hear your reasoning for why I shouldn't toss a certain book, as it might encourage me to get around to reading it.
I've copied the book blurbs below the cut for your consideration.
The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein
On the eve of his death, Enzo, a philosopher dog with a nearly human soul, takes stock of his life with the Swift family: Denny, an up-and-coming racecar driver, his wife Eve, and their daughter Zoe.
Solomon Gursky Was Here by Mordecai Richler
When Moses Berger, writer, salmon-fisher and part-time drunk, decides to write a history of the Gurskys—a family of bootleggers turned legitimate—he becomes obsessed with the ubiquitous but evasive Solomon. As he shadows the family from the stews of Victorian London via the port of Stromness in the Orkneys to the frozen wastes of Canada, and from Canada's stock market to the fleshpots of London and Oxford, Moses finds himself hooked on a line of his own making.
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
In the weeks following her murder, Susie Salmon watches life continuing without her—her school friends trading rumors about her disappearance, her family holding out hope that she'll be found, her killer trying to cover his tracks. As months pass without leads, Susie sees her parents' marriage being contorted by loss, her sister hardening herself in an effort to stay strong, and her little brother trying to grasp the meaning of the word 'gone.' And she explores the place called heaven. It looks a lot like her school playground, with the good kind of swing sets. There are counselors to help newcomers adjust and friends to room with. Everything she ever wanted appears as soon as she thinks of it—except the thing she wants most: to be back with the people she loved on Earth. With compassion, longing, and a growing understanding, Susie sees her loved ones pass through grief and begin to mend. Her father embarks on a risky quest to ensnare her killer. Her sister undertakes a feat of remarkable daring. And the boy Susie cared for moves on, only to find himself at the center of a miraculous event.

this is fully me being a bitch but i kinda hate the wine cellar tbr metaphor. or at least i hate the way people use it as a justification for buying copious amounts of books that they’re never gonna read. like the fact that you made a comparison doesn’t make it not consumerism. spending hundreds of dollars of things you don’t need or even particularly want that much is still bad.
