did you see nate's eyes turning golden when mc tells the unit that li sar tried to kill them?

the entire unit stares at nate, and adam snaps at him, making him...normal again. do tell your views on that part! tier x related maybe?

YES!! The wonderful @/serendepac had asked if I had made the choice to say that they thought Li-Sar was trying to kill them. I had not taken that choice because Suri didn’t think that Li-Sar was trying to kill her.

And thank you very much for this ask because I’ve had so much to think and say about this!

Eyes. Throughout the books, there have been mentions of N’s eyes and their color. At first I thought it was just character design but - at baseline, they’re usually a deep brown. In more romantic, more sensual moments, they’re a honeyed - almost golden - brown. During the mirror scene in book two, they’re fiery with fury. (going to sneak in a little patreon lore here, when they’re jealous - which is extremely rare - they are green tinted). Now, when they’re experiencing such an extreme reaction to their love being hurt and possibly killed during a mission that should have been routine and safe?

For a while, I’ve thought that N’s tier x has some sort of tie in with emotions, but they’re not an empath. They don’t have mind control abilities, either. I do still think there is something to do with emotions, and transferring them with direct contact. I don’t know if the eye color change is part of their tier x ability or if it’s indicative that it’s going to be revealed/unleashed/part of some transformation

Which UB is attuned to considering how they all turn to N. And that’s where A comes in

Touch. I think touch still plays a big role in whatever their tier x is. I think touch is a bigger deal than has been let on so far. I don’t think it’s something that has affected the mc (and it won’t, it hasn’t so far). And I think N has good control of it. Usually. But they always have their hands in their pockets (there is something behind that). They’ll touch A and F but they don’t touch M (not that I’ve seen). And. AND.

A knew immediately to grab their wrist, knowing it’ll redirect them and calm them down. Instantaneous. There are a lot more examples of this in book one when A and N disagree (note their hand placement) and in book three.

OF COURSE, there is the auction scene in book three! When N sort of slips into what-shall-not-be-named-mode and it’s interesting. Something they snap out of.

So! Still don’t have a concrete idea is what’s going on but definitely think it’s tied to their tier x ability/their big secret

I think it’s going to come out in book four. And I am very excited!

Book of Bill spoilers under cut

I know this isn't nearly what everyone's talking about when it comes to this book but the added context and filling in the blanks about Stanford's story absolutely breaks my heart.

For his whole childhood and young years he was ostracized for his birth defect and interest in the abnormal, only getting recognition for his gifted genius and when he finally had the chance to put his smarts to good use surrounded by people who would get him the only person who was ever there for him ruined his chances (albeit accidentally) and sent a wrecking ball to his entire future.

Although he excelled with the cards he was dealt and found a study he was passionate about he was all alone, despite being the smartest person in Gravity Falls (and possibly all of Oregon) he was still very socially stunted and struggled even talking to a waitress at a diner, alone with his studies until he met Bill who while becoming his muse and aiding him tremendously with his research also seemed to truly connect to him in a way no human ever could and they appeared to grow a strong bond maybe even blossoming into a little situationship. Through this he reconnected with his old colleague roommate who was not only willing to help with a groundbreaking technological breakthrough for pretty much nothing but is also the first to show Stanford true human kindness (even at his own decrement) that he most likely hasn't felt since the fallout with Stanley which he reciprocate.

He was thriving in his element, he didn't have many friends but when push came to shove he only needed the two. The future was looking bright and he was happy.

Then in one fell swoop it all came crashing down.

The secrets of his research and progress came out in the end and in the span of what I assume is a week he not only lost his one human friend but his muse, his friend, his sidepiece, the only being ever who truly recognized and understood him became his worst monster and tormentor and what's worse is that the only person that could possibly help him has been drawn away. He's left completely and more alone than he ever was.

Growing maddened, desperate and with no one else to turn to he reaches out the con man who ruined his future 30 years ago despite fears disaster and mockery hoping he can help.

And we all know how that ended...

When I first watched Gravity Falls when I was younger I never gave too much thought about Ford but reading through his pages in The Book Of Bill and piecing everything together made me cry.

But the only thing that made me cry harder was seeing the picture of him in the present day, surrounded by the people who love and care about him.

Rewatching the saw movies again.

Watched 5-3D over two days

watched 4 earlier today and I’m now watch 5

after I watch 4-3D I will then watch all of them in order

Why?

Simply because- I’ve seen 1-3 many times. I’ve seen 4 a few times. I haven’t seen 5-3D as much. I’ve seen spiral twice. I’ve seen Jigsaw and X once.
