a/n: literally my first time writing again after a year or two and also my first time actually putting myself out there and posting lol I apologize if it's messy or lengthy TvT

Itadori Yuji

I feel like Yuuji would ask for a DVD/cassette collection of his favorite movies and TV shows since he really is a “TV child” and grew up watching those. And also because DVDs/cassettes are not really a thing nowadays, it kind of gives him nostalgia to be watching the same movies he used to when he was younger. 

Another thing I think he’d like is a snack basket. Just a basket filled to the brim with sweets and snacks and sodas. Just something he can eat and share with someone while he’s watching his shows.

Yuuji doesn’t ask for much and he’d be completely fine if you only managed to buy one of them or even a completely different gift. I mean, he’s basically going out every weekend in the cinemas and he’s more than capable of buying a few snacks for himself at the store. Everything else is just a bonus.

What he didn’t expect was for you to go out of your way to buy him everything on his wishlist and even gave him a meal voucher to one of the popular ramen restaurants in Japan. You know he likes rice bowls a lot and what’s better than giving him a voucher that’s worth at least three different rice bowls.

“No way! You bought all of this for me?” He exclaimed, his eyes gleaming with stars as he looked over the rack full of DVDs, a large snack basket, and a meal voucher. He could feel the tears well up in his eyes, seeing you make an effort into giving him something special. 

You smiled fondly at him, chuckling softly at his lightly pouting face “I might as well, right?” You tell him so casually, as if you didn’t just crawl your way into this man’s heart with your gifts.

Without a second thought, he threw himself at you, wrapping you in a tight, almost suffocating embrace before burying his face at the crook of your neck “You’re so awesome, you know that? I was secretly hoping you were my secret santa.” He murmured softly, which you find extremely endearing. Nobara and Gojo snickered behind you and you knew you’d find yourself in the middle of another teasing session over the next few days.

As soon as Yuuji let go of you, he grabbed both of your hands, holding it in front of your chest “We should definitely stop by that ramen restaurant later! You’ve only been there once, right?” He suggested as he shook your hands excitedly like a child.

As much as he wanted to hang out with his friends this Christmas, he didn’t want to miss out on some one-on-one time with you. He’s basically begging the universe for it so he wouldn’t trade it for the world or for an extra day of training. That can wait.

Megumi Fushiguro

I feel like Megumi isn’t even interested in joining Secret Santa. Poor boy was just forced by Gojo and Itadori lol. As he’s not interested in receiving any material gifts anyways, at most he’d probably just ask for a book.

He didn’t even give you any specific book he’d want you to buy so you had to ask Gojo “Oh, he’s not really into fantasy books, if that’s what you’re thinking,” He tells you as he leaned back onto the sofa “He’s leaning more towards nonfiction novels. Like the classics, you know?”

Heading straight towards the bookstore after training hours, you decided to go for “In Praise of Shadows” by Junichiro Tanizaki, simply because the title reminded you of his cursed technique. Though, the synopsis for the book isn’t too far off from his tastes.

Giving him only the book felt empty so you decided to look for mini figurines for his shikigamis at a nearby pottery shop. You wanted to give him something to symbolize his immense care for these animals, which was one of the things you loved the most about him. In the end, you had bought a total of 10 mini clay figurines. You placed it alongside the book inside a neat box with Japanese wrapping paper and a small bunny origami that resembles one of his shikigami on top to finish it off.

When it was time to give your gift to Megumi, he was quite impressed with the way it was wrapped but kept his reactions to a minimum “Ah, thanks.” He’d say, with a hand behind his neck

Only when he opens his present will you see the visible change in his expression. He pulls out the book and the mini figurines of the Divine Dogs, his gaze darting all over it in subtle fascination.

You purse your lips, tilting your head slightly “Do you like it?” You asked him, albeit a little nervously.

“Hey! Say something, won't you?” Nobara shouted, crossing her arms at the boy “Don't just sit there and stare!”

Megumi lifted his head off your bundle of gifts as he gazed back at your smiling face, a sudden feeling of happiness swelling in his chest but he kept it in.

“It’s…nice. I like it.” He spoke quietly, as if he’s only talking to you, blocking out all of the other sounds around him “You shouldn't have bought so much.”

He wanted to say more than that but his real feelings can't be summed up in a few words and he didn't want to come off so cheesy in front of his friends.

You laughed in response, waving off his words “No, no, I want to! You seem so indifferent with Christmas and I just wanted to give you something to smile about!” You lightly teased him, knowing you would have loved him either way.

At this point, Itadori and Nobara were forcing Megumi to smile for you as a joke, poking and prodding at his cheeks like they always do.

In the middle of the teasing session, you could definitely make out a small genuine smile from his otherwise stoic face, one that's easy to miss if you’re not looking closely enough. 

Later that evening, when you finally got home, you received an unexpected call from Gojo, saying “Hey, just called to tell you Megumi loved what you gave him.” He tells you “In fact, he’s arranging those figurines you bought him at his bedside table.”

Without a second thought, you could hear Gojo put his phone closer to Megumi’s room, as the faint sound of soft clashes of wood on wood fills your ears.

Gojo puts himself back on the call “Oh, and the book that you gave him? Yeah, he started reading it on the way home. Looks like you really got him this time.”

You couldn't help the smile slowly spreading across your face like a child “Really?” You say, trying not to let your voice give out what you're feeling “That’s…that’s great! Tell him to cherish it for me, Gojo-sensei!”

Unbeknownst to you, you were on speaker the whole time.

Kugisaki Nobara

Oh it was anxiety-inducing to think of what to give to Nobara. She’s a girl who knows her worth and knows exactly what she deserves. And while that was an aspect of her personality that you love and admire a lot, there’s only so much that you can do with your allowance.

Her wish list states that she wanted stylish clothing, accessories, or anything that looks good on her, given how much she loves shopping. Of course, she didn’t ask for Balenciaga or Onitsuka Tiger. She’s not that delusional.

But you can’t help as if every gift you’d think of wouldn’t be good enough for her. You only wanted to give her the best things because that’s when you’ll see her smile the brightest. And you’d probably do anything to see it on her all the time.

Over the weekend, you made a plan to go to Shibuya, going straight to the popular fashion mall, Shibuya 109. Entering one of the more affordable clothing chains in the establishment, you purchased a cute, oversized graphic tee for her. You also decided to buy her a box set of accessories like hairpins, bracelets, chains, and scrunchies.

Buying one last thing for her with the money that you have, you go to a local chocolatier and order a box of macaroons. Nobara has always been a fan of sweets, after all.

On Christmas Day, when it was your turn to give your gifts, you glanced towards Nobara who was sitting beside you before handing her a beautifully wrapped gift with a ribbon on top.

“Merry Christmas, Nobara. You’re gonna love this.” You’d sweetly say as she widened her eyes, delicately loosening the ribbon string.

As soon as her eyes landed on the top you bought for her, chic accessories, and the box of macaroons, she couldn't simply contain her excitement.

Her eyes were basically stars as she immediately tried on the shirt, twisting and turning to see how it looked “(Y/N), this is gorgeous!” She exclaimed 

Opening the box of accessories next, she quickly tried on the hairclips and wore the bracelets, hurriedly trying them on all at once “Where did you buy all this? It honestly looks so good.” She asked you, a wide smile plastered on her face

You scratched the back of your head and grinned “I…I honestly went to Shibuya this Saturday. I thought I might find you something different from the shops there.”

She immediately dropped everything she was holding and perked up in interest “And you didn't bring me with you? That would have been the best Christmas gift you could give me!” She says, her warm hands immediately wrapping around yours “Then maybe you shouldn't have spent all your money on me. I heard some stores there are so expensive.”

Your grip on her hand tightened into a gentle squeeze “You don't need to worry. I got my money's worth so it’s okay, really.” You reassured her.

You could see the tears forming on her eyes, only for her to wipe it off as she pouted “Well, at least let me share my macarons with you!” She tells you before picking one from the box and feeding you a strawberry cream-filled flavor macaron.

Nobara made a promise to be the one to take you to Shibuya next time and even go as far as to spoil you, even when you told her not to. 

How could she not? She’s so picky with everything but you’re the only one who seems to pinpoint her tastes so well. She’s never met anyone who could match her as good as you do so she’ll make sure to return the favor.

Scenario prompts

A getting physically hurt because they attempted to save someone from a dangerous situation, and B gets visibly worried and beats themselves over it. A chides B for feeling like this, adamant that it isn't their fault in any way. B showers A with so much tender loving care that A finds it amusing how cheesy B can get.

Similar to the above, only that B has not confessed their love to A yet — B goes feral when A gets hurt, and in the midst of the mess of emotions, B blurts out that they love A, taking A by surprise (or not, because they had a suspicion for the longest time, and bites back a smile).

A suffers from a progressive, chronic illness and B crosses paths with them at their most vulnerable state, and vows to be by their side through the ups and downs, the good and the bad. [Bonus: A suffers from progressive memory loss, but B is unfazed and promises to love them even when they forget.]

A loses a loved one and B helps them through the grieving process — coming to terms with it, growing through it, and beyond. [Bonus: B surprises A with a pet, knowing that it will help A through this patch. Their love for each other grows through this shared experience as well, and it opens up conversations for a future family together].

A is dealing with the aftermath of a traumatic event (eg. an accident) and B is there for them, from caring for their physical wounds by their hospital bedside, to their emotional wounds at home. B even sets up a care roster and ropes in all their friends to take turns looking out for A when A chases B back to work.

A has been holding back their emotions for the longest time because they do not want to make B feel bad about the situation, but one day A and B meet someone / something that sets off the trigger, causing A to break down in B's arms. B insists on spending the night with A, not wanting to leave their side even after getting nagged at, with A insisting that they are okay (but B not buying a single word of it).

A has been going through a terribly rough patch at work, and B, knowing that acts of service ranks high on A's love language list, gifts A with a set of "care vouchers" which A can redeem at any time (eg. a massage, cooking a homemade dinner, cuddles, a movie of A's choice, preparing a scented bath, etc).

Similar to the above; B picks A up from work, only for A to burst into tears the moment they get into the car. B knows what A has been facing all this time and feels the rising urge to teach the culprits a lesson, but knows that it's the last thing that A needs right now. Instead, B keeps silent, and reaches across to hold A's hand throughout the ride home.

She has never felt so vulnerable before, her heart so raw and bare in the open for him to see. And he sees it — her pain, her suffering; he sees it all, no matter how much she tries to conceal them. It's almost as if the glimpse of the night sky that she makes out between the flutters of the curtains mirror her current state. Pitch black, dull, and utterly lifeless. She doesn't know exactly how long she's been awake for; one thing she knows, though, is that those memories are starting to haunt her, yet again. Those memories— no, nightmares— have come so alive that it feels too real. He lands a soft, lingering kiss on her tear-stained cheek and pulls her in, closer than ever before.

She has always been living in this way, with the weight of the world heavy on her shoulders. It is what she's been used to — trudging on in life, putting the needs of everyone else's before her own. Not a single complaint, not a single time she had griped about the unfairness of it all. Such is life, anyway, is what she always tells herself — her mantra which she often draws comfort from. But when it all starts to get too much to bear; the burden weighing her down to the bones, she finally decides to allow herself a tiny space to breathe, just for a moment. But her floodgates open without warning as she grows limp on the cold, marbled ground, her tiny body racking away in sobs. A few seconds pass, and then a full minute, before she feels a weight settle next to her; she knows, without a doubt, that it's him — the only one who has been by her side through it all. He puts away the letter in his robes with a smile and looks at everything else.

"Everything looks beautiful. How did you manage all of this without my knowledge? I feel like we should keep all of it as is, it will make the Tower look more lively," he takes your hand, pulling you close, "let us dance. There is nothing I would like more."

Later, he absolutely adores the dress, but it doesn't stay on you for long.

Master of Fate:

A soft smile forms on his lips at the surprise. He pockets the voucher and the letter, intending to read it later to avoid getting flustered in front of you.

"You look wonderful. I'm glad you took my suggestion. Alright, we'll take today off."

He sits down and listens to you play 'Happy Birthday'; it's an okay performance, but to him it's fantastic. Then he takes the instrument and starts playing a gentle melody.

"Let's see how much you've improved. Tell me if you get tired and want me to stop playing, you know what happens after dancing for a God," he chuckles, falling silent to admire you.

College Zayne:

He arrives at his desk and raises an eyebrow at the items he finds. He reads the card then tosses it away, but the macarons are quickly secured into his bag.

"Of course I'm the smartest, no need to point out the obvious... I guess I'll go to that restaurant after class. It better not be a prank. ...Who even did this?"

In his heart, he's actually grateful for all of this since he's not used to celebrating it, much less someone wishing him a happy birthday that's not his parents. He enjoys the meal greatly, and for a moment, he's able to forget about his studies.

Hi!! Can you explain the gacha system if Obey Me NB? I didn’t get into the first game but been really enjoying the second so I’m not sure how the gacha works! Also, will new cards be added to the game as its updates? Thank youuuuu

Aaaah I'll do my best!

So the gacha system is the Nightmare 'app'. As a free player, you'll get one free pull from 'Chapter A' and 'Chapter M' every 48 hours, and one free pull from 'Chapter G' every 24 hours. (If you go VIP, it's every 24 hours for A and M, and every 12 hours for G.)

Chapter A is where you'll have a chance at the higher tier battle cards - those are the ones that give you the best boost in the rhythm game. UR+ and UR cards will give the most bang for your buck, so to speak, with the highest stats. SSR are the next best cards, with SR, R and N cards basically just filling out your pool.

(UR+, UR and SSR cards also generally unlock devilgram side stories you can read and play for extra lore, romance, or shenanigans. They often also have extra goodie unlocks in the devil tree like main screen backgrounds, background music, unlockable chats, and bonus items.)

Chapter M is where you'll get your memory cards. Those are kind of like backup dancers in your game -- they help a bit with the stats, and also provide little boosts from their skills. Same rules apply as far as tiers and what each card is 'worth'.

Chapter G is sort of the 'general gacha'. It gives you SR, R, and N cards, and has a small chance to give you pieces of higher tier cards. It's good to play for the free cards and the chances at slowly building up to better cards, but in the original game its best use was to get raven.

I'm not entirely positive if the same mechanic will apply in Nightbringer, but assuming it does, once you max out a card's skill level by getting it 5 times, any additional times you pull it from a gacha it would turn into some raven instead. Raven is a currency for akuber purchases of things like demon vouchers, joker cards, different outfits for the brothers to wear on the home screen, and surprise guest food gifts.

Do your free pulls whenever you get notified you have some! But I personally recommend saving your demon vouchers and demon points for events.

As far as adding new cards--

They do fairly frequent events themed around holidays, seasons, and just random stuff (fairy tales, steampunk, etc) that will come with limited time Nightmares with special cards. Also, each character has a birthday where they'll have birthday Nightmares of just their cards. I like to save my points to spend on that rather than on the year-round freebie gachas.

Finally, you can also earn cards no luck or gacha system required! Hard mode battles that are marked with card rewards will give you little fractions of UR cards that you can eventually combine into nice demon cards if you keep repeating those battles. (Once you earn at least an A rank, you can choose to skip/complete them daily without redoing the rhythm battle to get card parts. Hard mode lets you do three free battles a day.) You'll also be able to earn cards from events and birthdays! They generally have tiered rewards for participation that should net you at least one demon and one memory SSR, and if you really go all out you can earn a UR of each as well.

Felix immediately puts the Pikachu on their bed, though they only have vague memories of the ballybog-induced Pokemon experience. The emoji voucher receives careful inspection, and they’re excited to find that they can once again access emojis on their phone! (They always could.) 

The Grit Pit bosses never text them back about that bonus, though.

12th Perigees presents time:

Nancor bought a notebook which he decorated the front cover with pressed flowers, as well as a block of dark chocolate for Gliese. He sent the same gift to Argumi as well (since he wasn’t sure if he should deliver it in person due to Argumi’s psiionics), but instead of flowers his notebook is decorated in fabric scraps.

Dismas bought Maidel a couple video games (including a dating sim with a joking comment about how he’s always trying to find ones with the broodingest anime boys possible), and also restocked her pantry with all the snacks he’s eaten the last few times he was at his hive.

Eichio gave Gerrel a bouquet of flowers. The selection seems somewhat random but aesthetically pleasing when put together, but there are a number of yellow hyacinths in there... He also bought some chocolates for Ullane and some fruit for her lusus, as well as a nice pen holder for Viltau that matches a fountain pen Jikiro gave him.

Callan bought Gerrel a decent pair of trail runners that are black with green and red accents, since he’s always hearing about how his moirail goes on a lot of hikes and if he’s gonna get chased by a bigass bird again then he’s at least gotta look cool doing it (and not sprain an ankle). Izuili was given a 12th perigees stocking full of shitty cheap Kris Kringle gifts, because he’s not at the stage where Callan is trying to put thought into his gifts yet. Also a kazoo, because his name is totally Kazooli, isn’t it?

Ashe bought Cheran some more books, as usual. He feels a little bad that he’s not the most exciting gift giver, but he does try hard to find books he knows Cheran would love! He also made little gift bags with candy canes, chocolate coins, and store-bought gingerbread men for his employees and the Crown Clinic staff.

Mikiel managed to get Lyvere booked in for a couple lessons with a professional chef that specialises in a cuisine that Lyvere enjoys cooking the most. He also took Thrixe out for dinner, and bought him some really nice art supplies and a canvas.

Lusien made Anirus a hamper with various jams, preserves, and pickled vegetables that will last while they’re out sailing, wrapped in some starry-patterned fabrics from the local market. He also gave them the sketchbook he had with him while he was traveling with them, since it’s filled with sketches of the boat and other scenery they saw together.

Viltau obviously had to make a cake for Jikiro, but also had a custom suit jacket and waistcoat combo tailored to fit him, both of which are accented with traditional Japanese silk patterns. His gift to Kitaer was distracting him with a murder case for the entire 12th Perigees night, only for his kismesis to come home and find that Viltau had completely covered his hive in tinsel and baubles. At least he left him a 12th Perigees pudding decorated with strawberries dyed black and cut into spade shapes. Lastly, his full-time employees got their 12th Perigees bonus and some movie vouchers to encourage them to go out more.

Glasya bought Mikail some new plants for his hive, a couple of small indoor plants and one dwarf fruit tree for his apartment balcony. Since they’re spending 12th Perigees with him, they made dessert: A box of chocolates, half of which are plain dark chocolate and half that are chili chocolate, and one that is actually a chocolate-covered warhead candy as a fun surprise. They also made bags of candies for all of their friends.

Vallis bought Epsilo some saltwater taffy and some interesting shells that washed up on Vernrot’s beach, because he... May have forgotten about 12th Perigees until the last moment. Whoops! 

Linnae bought some little 12th Perigees trinkets for Arctus, Aislin, and everyone at the clinic (though he asks Ullane if she can deliver Xrumon’s gift on his behalf, because he’s still wary about approaching him), probably just a novelty bauble and a candy cane. He’s not super familiar with 12th Perigees because his caretaker never celebrated it, but hearing people talking about presents made it clear that he’s supposed to buy something!

Fleure figured he might as well give Akidis something seeing as she’s allowing him to live near her hive, so he left a basket of fruit (picked from her own fruit trees so she doesn’t have to do it later) and some wildflowers at her doorstep with no indication that it came from him.

Anjay hasn't had much face time to meet this particular alternate. But-- he knew where his dressing room was-- and left a gift bag on the door all the same. The theme was pink. Pastel pink. With rose gold threaded in, hand made from Anjay's own silk was a matching ensemble of gloves, a dress scarf, and a berret. Angel's name was embroidered subtly across the cap written in calligraphy--. There was a "Happy Birthday" note written in pink-- and a bonus hand made voucher that reads "Drink on me-- Anjay."
