Sorry if you've been asked this a million times, but who are your favorite couples from the last couple years?
Congratulations Anon! This ask is AMAZING and I've never been asked it before! Shocking right?? :P
My favorite K-Drama Couples 2023- Spring 2024
NOTE: I tried to include 2022 but my list got too long :)
Moving (Bong-Seok & Hee-Soo, Joo-Won & Hye-Won & Doo-Shik & Mi-Hyun): It's very obvious by this list how much I love this drama and how many blorbo-from-my-shows it created for me. And I know I'm only reviewing couples, but I was blown away by this drama. I don't even LIKE superhero shows, but I made an exception for this one and I'm so glad I did. If you like character development and plays on good vs. evil, I highly rec this! Bong-Seok and Hee-Soo are one of my favorite couples EVER and I loved the softness and epic romance of Joo-Won & Hye-Won. (And we all know that scene at the rainy window with Bong-Seok and Hee-Soo). These couples are really EVERYTHING.
Tale of the Nine Tailed: 1938 (Lee-rang & Yeo-Hee): This is the only time I've ever watched a season two and liked it better than season one. It's probably because it featured my favorite tragic half fox Lee Rang and gave him a love line with a mermaid. The two are SO sweet together---SOB!
Tell me That You Love Me (Mo-Eun & Jin-Woo): Wow. Maybe one of the softest couples I've ever seen in existence. Just watching them together was like a warm blanket in front of a cozy fireplace. I didn't like the ending choice which is a shame, but the drama was super well done and I still think people should watch it. There is also a very cute high school couple too!
The Eighth Sense (Jae-Won & Ji Hyun): not to be dramatic (just kidding!) this is the best bl kdrama I've ever seen. Literally this is it! I don't even want to tell you about the couple because I want you to just watch it! I'm dying for the writer to make another one because we need more queer media like this one!
Crash Course In Romance (Haeng-Seon & Chi-Yeol): Give me a noona romance featuring a man who has not felt warmth in 1000 years (ok not literally but this dude needs to have a warm meal made by an amazing lady!) This drama fell apart at the end (this seems to be a theme this year) but the couple makes it worth watching.
King The Land (Gu-Won & Sa-Rang): If you're looking for a low stakes, totally fluffy, rom com with TONS of chemistry (featuring MY BIAS!), King the Land is for you. Amazing skinship, kisses and just like a really fun duo to watch. Plot? Not so much but there are a billion good moments-- just look at the tags: They are full of cuteness.
Love After Divorce Season 4 (Benita & Jerome): Listen, I know I'm cheating by putting a reality tv show on this list but if you're in the mood for one, I highly recommend this season (it's on Netflix). Benita and Jerome will steal your heart and they are still together! I'm rooting for them. <3
See you in my 19th Life (Ji-Eum & Seo-Ha, Da-Hoon & Cho-Won): My bias Shin Hye Sun kills it in this drama featuring past life romance. Honestly it's not fair because this drama is totally my vibe so I'm obviously going to love the mains. But when a drama gives you more than one love line and they are both interesting and lovely?? Chef's Kiss!
Dr. Slump (Jeong-Woo & Ha-Neul): This drama TOTALLY fell apart at the end and left us all very disappointed, but that's not because our leads weren't a perfect couple! They bonded over mental illness and even took their meds together. Communication: check. Comfort/Healing: check. Chemistry: check!
The Story of Park's Marriage Contract (Yun-Woo & Tae-Ha). You probably don't know this but I've been following Bae In Hyuk's career since we was in silly little web dramas. Seeing him as a lead is really wild! To be fair, he's not nearly the actor that Lee Se Young is, but do we care about that when there's a time slip romance drama featuring a historical lady who's been thrown into the future and has to fake marry someone who looks just like her de*d husband for reasons??
Thank you so much for this ask - it was super fun!! Maybe I should do 2022 next?? :D

I have a question (or rather questions but this is the most pressing one), will the drama adaptation differ from the webtoon? Cuz in the webtoon it's very open ended and we don't get a substantive family reunion...
Am i the delusional one for thinking Doo Shik is in trunk and is going to either save Bong Seok or Mi Hyun (although she is a boss and could possibly break those soldiers, I don't make the rules, it's just facts)??
Am i delusional for hoping that I get to see the family reunion in real time, that I get to see friends reuniting in real time?
I'm not even asking for a happy ending per se ( depends, it needs to be done well) I just want a substantive ending. I just don't want the ending to be a "silhouette of a person is seen in real time, he may or may not be Kim Doo Shik on the way to see his family after 10 years" .
#moving kdrama#kdrama#my mind actively thinks about moving#feels nice to be so invested in a show after a while#but also I want answers damn it#also i just realised if anyone read the 3rd tag without context it makes little sense#but yes my mind does also think about literally moving around from place to place lol

My Review of Korean Drama Moving.
Moving is a Korean drama about three teenagers Kim Bong Seok, Jang Hee Soo and Lee Gang Hoon who have inherited superhuman abilities from their parents. Kim Bong Seok can fly, Jang Hee Soo can heal herself and Lee Gang Hoon has super strength and speed. Their parents try to shield them from those who would harm and exploit them especially the National Intelligence Service (NIS). Hee Soo transfers to Bong Seok’s high school and Bong Seok falls in love with her at first sight. Bong Seok’s mother Lee Mi Hyun worries about her son constantly and lives in fear that the NIS will come after her son like they did his father Kim Doo Shik. Hee Soo’s father, Jang Joo Won is a former NIS special agent who only wishes to provide his daughter with a safe and comfortable life. Gang Hoon’s father Lee Jae Man is under constant surveillance by the NIS because of his superhuman strength and speed and mental disability. Moving has a happy ending and is definitely worth taking your time to watch and enjoy.

Hey, I was wondering if you have any recommendations of kdramas where the boy falls for the girl first ? Love your blog, thanks :D Ps: sorry for any mistakes, English is not my first language
Your english is GREAT anon!
K-Dramas where the Boy Falls First
[Updated list 10/20/19)
When the Camellia Blooms: It’s love at first site for Hwang Yong Shik when he encounters a single mom and her son. Dong Baek considers herself unlucky and is being stalked by a murder and has all sorts of problems falling in her lap, but Yong Shik is super protective and totally heart eyes for her no matter what.
Angel’s Last Mission: A kind-hearted and adorable angel falls in love with The World’s Biggest Grump. Get your tissues ready.
One Spring Night: Yoo Ji Ho & Lee Jung In She likes him pretty fast if I’m honest but does fight the urge, where he is just puppy heart eyes from the start.
He is Psychometric: Lee Ahn & Yoon Jae In AND 2nd couple Lee Dae Bong and Kim So Hyun Both boys are totally into the girls so this is like a double whammy of cute boy likes girl first love stories.
Flower Boy Next Door: Everyone is in love with Go Dok Mi She has a love triangle but Enrique Geum is freakin’ adorable and works super hard to bring her out of her shell.
Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo: This is tragic and I don’t recommend unless you want to be left in a devastated puddle but doesn’t everyone think Wang So and Heo Soo are a grump and sunshine pairing (even though there isn’t a lot of room for sunshine)?
Search: WWW: Bae Ta Mi & Park Mo Geon Noona romance where he aggressively courts her but she doesn’t consider him relationship material due to the age difference. They do hook up but she resists an actual relationship for a while.
Encounter: CEO Cha Soo Hyun & Manic Pixie Dream Boy Kim Jin Hyuk Most noona romances have the guy being super into the girl and the girl resists their charms because of age and status, and this is totally like that.
Ho Goo’s Love: Ho Goo & Do Hee He looooooooooves herrrrrr :P
Just Between Lovers: Kang Doo & Moon Soo He likes her first, like waaaaaay first back in time. The two of these lovelies are my faves so, yeah
Secret Love Affair: Lee Sun Jae & Oh Hye Won Because she’s married and is much older, she tries to fight loving him, but he is super into her the minute he sees her. Intense noona romance warning.
Romance is a Bonus Book: Cha Eun Ho & Kang Dan Yi Because she’s older and always thought of Eun Ho as a friend, she didn’t notice how much he loved her at first.
Shopping King Louis: Louis & Bok Sil These cuties are so adorable and Louis sees her on TV and just basically falls for her instantly. I’m not sure she’s exactly uninterested in him but she has a bunch of stuff to worry about so she’s not really thinking romance right away.
Strong Woman Do Bong Soon: Bong Soon & Min Hyuk Min Hyuk is so into her, he has a painting of her in his CLOSET ok while she’s mostly pining for a bossy sexist cop.
The Package: Ma Roo & So So She’s a tour guide so she has no interest in getting involved with any of her clients but Ma Roo is a bit charming and totally likes her.
What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim: Kim Mi So & Yeong Joon I’m not 100% sure this one counts but I think it’s pretty obvious that he really likes Mi So but she knows he’s too conceited to date so turns him down at first.

Han Hyo Joo Gets Called ‘Bong Seok’s Mom’ at BIFF 2023 + Reveals Shocks Fans with Her Brutal Diet for ‘Believer 2’
Han Hyo Joo, the star of the hit K-drama “Moving,” revealed her extreme preparation for her upcoming Netflix movie “Believer 2” at the 28th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) 2023. The actress, who played a badass mom in “Moving,” transformed into a fierce character named Keunkal, a.k.a. Big Knife, in the sequel to the 2018 crime thriller “Believer.” Han Hyo Joo shared how she built her body and avoided drinking water for three days to show off her muscles in the action scenes. She also received a playful introduction from her co-star Cha Seung Won, who called her “Bong Seok’s mom,” referring to her son in “Moving.”
Han Hyo Joo Attends BIFF 2023 with ‘Believer 2’ Cast
On October 5, Han Hyo Joo attended the outdoor stage event of BIFF 2023 with her “Believer 2” co-stars Cha Seung Won, Oh Seung Hoon, and Jo Jin Woong.
(Photo : Han Hyo Joo Instagram) The cast discussed their experience and what to expect in the movie, which is set to premiere on Netflix on October 15. Han Hyo Joo looked stunning in an all-white outfit, as she greeted the audience with her warm smile. However, as she was about to take her seat, Cha Seung Won teased her and re-introduced her as “Bong Seok’s mom,” making everyone laugh. https://twitter.com/forhanhyojoo/status/1709893421652185580?s=20 The actress took the joke in stride and thanked him for the compliment. “Bong Seok’s mom” is the nickname given to Han Hyo Joo by fans of “Moving,” the webtoon-based series that aired on Netflix earlier this year. In the drama, Han Hyo Joo played Lee Mi Hyun, a former top-tier agent who left her career to follow her husband, Kim Doo Shik (Jo In Sung). The couple had a son named Kim Bong Seok (Lee Jung Ha), who was born with a rare condition that made him unable to feel pain.
(Photo : Lee Jung Ha Instagram) Han Hyo Joo impressed viewers with her portrayal of a devoted mother who protected her son from danger and taught him how to live a normal life. She also showed great chemistry with Jo In Sung and Lee Jung Ha, making fans root for their family.
Han Hyo Joo Reveals Her Extreme Diet for ‘Believer 2’
In contrast to her motherly role in “Moving,” Han Hyo Joo took on a different challenge in “Believer 2,” where she played Keunkal, a loyal member of an organization that produces and distributes drugs. Keunkal is also known as Big Knife, because she uses a large knife as her weapon of choice. She is in charge of protecting Mr. Lee (Cha Seung Won), the boss of the organization, whom she treats like her father. Han Hyo Joo said that she was attracted to the role because it was different from what she had done before. She also said that she wanted to pay tribute to the late Kim Joo Hyuk and Jin Seo Yeo, who played similar roles in the first movie.
(Photo : Elle Korea's Instagram) Han Hyo Joo However, playing Keunkal was not easy for Han Hyo Joo, who had to undergo a brutal diet and training regimen to achieve a lean and muscular physique. She said that she joined “Believer 2” right after “Moving” ended, so she did not have much time to prepare. She said that it was harder to build a skinny body that showed small muscles than a bulky one. She worked out all day, but her coach wanted her to show fine muscles even though she was “brutally skinny.” She also revealed that she did not drink any water for three days before filming the last action scene, where she had to tear up all her clothes and expose her body. She said that she tried the hydration method for the first time in her life, which involved removing all the hydration from her body by not taking a sip of water for three days. She said that it was very hard and painful, but she endured it for the sake of the movie. She hoped that viewers would appreciate her efforts and enjoy the movie.
Han Hyo Joo Receives Praise from Fans and Co-Stars
Han Hyo Joo’s dedication and transformation for “Believer 2” did not go unnoticed by fans and co-stars, who praised her for her professionalism and talent. Fans expressed their admiration and support for the actress, who showed her versatility and range in different genres and roles. They also commented on her beauty and charisma, saying that she looked amazing in both “Moving” and “Believer 2.” - Han Hyo Joo is so beautiful and talented. She can pull off any role. I loved her in Moving and I can’t wait to see her in Believer 2. - Han Hyo Joo is a goddess. She looks stunning in white. She is so brave and hardworking to do such a drastic diet for Believer 2. I hope she takes care of her health. - Han Hyo Joo is the best actress of her generation. She is always challenging herself and giving her best. She deserves all the love and recognition. Her co-stars also complimented her for her performance and attitude, saying that she was a joy to work with. Cha Seung Won said that he was impressed by her action scenes, where she showed no fear or hesitation. He said that she was very professional and passionate, and that he learned a lot from her. Oh Seung Hoon said that he was amazed by her transformation, saying that she looked like a different person in “Believer 2.” He said that she was very friendly and kind, and that he felt comfortable working with her. Jo Jin Woong said that he was honored to work with her, saying that she was a great actress and a great person. He said that she was very humble and respectful, and that he enjoyed their scenes together. Han Hyo Joo thanked her co-stars for their kind words, saying that she had a lot of fun filming with them. She said that they were all very supportive and helpful, and that they made the movie more enjoyable. She also thanked the director, the staff, and the fans for their love and support.
‘Believer 2’ to Premiere on Netflix on October 15
“Believer 2” is the sequel to the 2018 movie “Believer,” which was a remake of the 2012 Hong Kong movie “Drug War.”
(Photo : Netflix Korea) The movie follows the aftermath of the explosion at the drug factory, where Mr. Lee (Cha Seung Won) survives and rebuilds his organization. He faces a new threat from an undercover cop named Kim Sung Ryong (Oh Seung Hoon), who infiltrates his group and tries to expose his secrets. Meanwhile, Keunkal (Han Hyo Joo) remains loyal to Mr. Lee, while Detective Jo (Jo Jin Woong) continues his pursuit of justice. The movie is directed by Lee Hae Young, who also directed the first movie. The movie is rated R for violence, drug use, language, and nudity. The movie will premiere on Netflix on October 15, 2023. Are you excited to watch “Believer 2” starring Han Hyo Joo, Cha Seung Won, Oh Seung Hoon, and Jo Jin Woong? What do you think of Han Hyo Joo’s brutal diet and transformation for the movie?
