Cats 1998 Anniversary Event - Favorite Song: Macavity

The 98 Macavity song has always been a particular favorite of mine. One of my earliest memories is dancing and singing along to it as a kid. Rosemarie Ford and Aeva May's singing and dancing is simply iconic.

I realized I never posted these here on tumblr! 2020 did unspeakable things to my mind and body…I staggered away from lockdown with a whole pitch of how I would make an animated Cats adaptation. I got the whole thing up here *taps skull*—it would be Very Good. I can’t think about it too much lest I awaken my sleeping obsession…still want to finish Old Deut and Macavity one of these days.

Fun fact: The term "Jellicle Cat" is actually the cats’ mishearing of the term "Dear Little Cat" (this gives me much joy)

Baby’s first zine participation!! It was an absolute honour to be invited on as guest artist and been given the chance to work with some of the community’s most talented creatives in the @namingofcatszine ! This was definitely one of if not the most ambitious pieces I’ve ever attempted over the course of a few months in 2023 but I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone and create something I can truly be proud of. Thank you so much to all the mods, artists, writers for their incredible efforts and of course the unwavering support of the Cats community for making this happen 🫶 it has been an amazing experience from the beginning until the end 🥹

CATS!! I can't stop thinking about this musical and these characters! I keep trying to figure out how Id personally translate their designs for things like animation and/or comics. plenty of these I'm not 100% satisfied with and I'm sure they'll change but here's at least my first attempt for posterity. I didn't intend for this to become a series but I'm pretty happy that it did. Some of the pieces mirror/reference each other bc I wanted them too (tugger and bomba being the big one, grizabella and jemima are going to mirror each other two bc of the show)

A colored sketch commission completed for someone over on instagram!

Was tasked to draw 1998 Bomba, Demeter, and Munk! The person who commissioned me needed to give a presentation at a con that talked about online safety and stalking, and it needed to incorporate a fandom they were a part of! So I got to draw this piece to help with their presentation!

It was SO FUN getting to work on Cats art again, I really (really) missed drawing these characters!
