Catedral Metropolitana de San Sebastián Arquidiócesis de Cochabamba, Bolivia 😇😇😇 The Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Sebastian is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Cochabamba. It is located in the Plaza 14 de Septiembre in Cochabamba, Bolivia. The original structure was begun in 1571, atop the foundations of the 14th century Villa de Oropeza, making it the oldest structure in the valley. In 1618, the church administrators agreed to build a bigger church, both to renovate the deteriorating building and to accommodate the increasing populace. The current building was built in 1701 atop the foundation of the previous one. Construction was completed in 1735. 3 MONTHS ON THE ROAD!!🌏🛫🚌 . Potosi & Sucre Bolivia 🇧🇴 Two very different cities which we had a pleasure to visit during the last week✌️ . FUN: We visited Puka Puka village and we had a lot of fun with kids when learning their language Quechua and training to dance to their folklore music . FOOD: There was a lot of food involved during the last week, one of us also had stomach issues 😫 but all is fine now and we add pictures of Calapurca soup with the stone inside😁 . TRAVELLING: We are happy that we decided to explore Bolivia 🇧🇴 as there is so much to see! Potosi is one of the highest cities in the world with 4090mt and yes we could definitely feel it when walking around. Sucre is a very important place for Bolivian people as this is a city where Bolivian Declaration of Independence was signed✌(the first picture is from Casa De Libertad) . 📍Location: Daniel Campos Province, Potosí Department . Salar de Uyuni, amid the #Andes in southwest Bolivia, is the world’s largest salt flat. It’s the legacy of a #prehistoric lake that went dry, leaving behind a desertlike, nearly 11,000-sq.-km. landscape of bright-white salt, rock formations and cacti-studded islands. Its otherworldly expanse can be observed from central Incahuasi Island. Though wildlife is rare in this unique ecosystem, it harbors many pink flamingos. . 📽Video by: @everchanginghorizon . The Salar was formed as a result of transformations between several prehistoric lakes. It is covered by a few meters of salt crust, which has an extraordinary flatness with the average elevation variations within one meter over the entire area of the Salar. The crust serves as a source of salt and covers a pool of brine, which is exceptionally rich in lithium. It contains 50% to 70% of the world's known lithium reserves according to a 2009 Foreign Policy article by Joshua Keating.The large area, clear skies, and exceptional flatness of the surface make the Salar ideal for calibrating the altimeters of Earth observation satellites.Following rain, a thin layer of dead calm water transforms the flat into the world's largest mirror, 129 kilometres (80 miles) across. The Salar serves as the major transport route across the Bolivian Altiplano and is a major breeding ground for several species of flamingos.
