I-na knowing Da-hae’s plan to scam her family and deciding to not snitch just because she wants grandma to get what she deserves??? Lowkey an icon
#I too would be praying on my grandma’s downfall if she deemed me less than just bc I don’t display a superpower#and tbh her dad too bc what has he done for her in her 13 years alive???#she probably sympathized with Dahae when she saw her reasons for scamming the other two lol#Bok I-na#Bok Ina#the atypical family

The way that Hyung-tae knew all of In-Na's habits and her favorite things was soo cute (I get that he was tasked with keeping an eye on her but still lol). Also highlighted just how out of the loop Gwi-Ju was with his daughter (altho we already knew that smh)

besties, does this count as a love triangle?? the fact that Ina cares way more about if Hyerim likes her than if Junwoo does is impacting me so much. Ina's crush literally confessed his feelings for her, but she continues to ignore him and even tries to set him up with Hyerim because she wants to be her friend that bad. she gave Hyerim the brand new pair of shoes OFF OF HER FEET and stole an expensive watch for her. people literally think Hyerim is bullying Ina even though she's never treated her bad, just because of how terribly Ina simps for her.
these kids are by far the best characters in this show. they're so adorable and intriguing, especially Hyreim. if they were the main characters i'd be so obsessed. i hope there's more screentime for them in the last four episodes and they all end up happy :"] they're such cuties

i'm more invested in ina and joonwoo than gwiju and dahae lol is that just me? i sort of lost the plot from episode 4. i don't know how grace got onboard with dahae to get revenge on donghee's boyfriend? also didn't dahae forgive her scam mother too quickly?
(p.s: i finished the last episode but it was just DRAGGING on all they did was forgive each other... the show made no sense! it was interesting at the start but after that it fell off HARD. the atypical family is literally like start up, it got lots of hype but actually has no substance- but maybe i just have higj standards because i've been watching kdramas for yearss)

Ep5 the atypical family short review
Omg..my reaction toward the ending of next ep preview...they getting married in next ep for real for real??? Or I just gonna lowered my hope as that it just flashback of his old marriage.
Today ep everything fall into place..but again who is the mystery guy that save da hae???
Gonna call him scar man😅
I thought it will solved today but writernim decide to lengthen the plot
Oo..Ina know and she just let it be
Do da hae panicking but her fake mother aren't..can't seem to figure out the plan yet
Coz everything seem to be out of place but in place
I'm curious on why gwi ju suddenly change and chasing da hae in next ep
Wonder what's the changes.
So he going back to kiss moment just to see Ina steal watches..
I love him going back and end up tying her shoelace.

i gave up on watching The Atypical Family like halfway into episode 3. Gwiju has zero buisness caring this much about a woman when he's too pussy to speak more than two fragment sentances to his own kid. Donghee's terrible writing and fatphobic monstrocity of a plot are unbearable. i've just been sifting through the episodes and watching Ina's scenes because she's highkey an icon and a legend + her classmates are interesting.
this man is soooo obsessed with saving someone. would you just chill. why don't you focus on saving yourself so that your daughter can grow up with a father?

Do Da-hae and Bok I-na
I'm so excited for the development of Dahae and Ina's relationship because there are no lies between them. They both know things no one else knows, and since there seems to be an agreement to keep quiet, it opens a huge door for character development.
In a way, both are parallels/ folds to each other. Both grew up without a mother, both had alcoholic parents and basically no one else to help them (Ina technically has a family but they're a mess so I'm going to pretend they're inexistent for this). Dahae is what Ina could end up as if surrounded by the wrong people, and we're already seeing crumbs of this with her 'friendship' with the other seventh grader, Ina is a people pleaser because she wants to be loved/accepted. On the other hand, Dahae is a con-artist willing to marry and scam men... why? sure, it's mainly to pay off her debt but no one can convince me she doesn't crave for love and/or a family as well. I mean, she calls the woman that put her in a debt in the first place 'mom', both in public and in private showing that there is emotional dependency from Dahae's side. Dahae is just as in need of familial love as Ina is, which is why I'm excited for them to bond.
Although I know that Dahae and Gwiju's eventual romance is inevitable - as Ina stated, Dahae's feelings are already getting in her way- what I think is going to be the turning point for Dahae to "change" and I theorize, ultimately leave the family alone will not be Gwiju but Ina herself. I mean, Dahae is not a great person, sure, but at least she's not delusional and tries to convince herself that what she's doing isn't wrong. She knows, and this is why I think she'll eventually leave for Ina's sake, as to preclude her to become as lonely as she is. Anyways, I can't wait to see in what direction these characters are taken.
♡
#Do dahae#bok ina#the atypical family#I do understand people's displease with Dahae manipulating a family but so far she's been the most honest when it comes to Ina

Did anyone else absolutely bawl at the end of atypical family because it was so sad for In-na to end up growing up without a dad for her childhood anyway? Like she spent the first 12? yrs of her life with a neglectful dad and then when things finally got better and Gwi-ju finally got his shit together and started being there for her he disappeared for 5 yrs...which means In-na is now 17/18 :( I just hope the rest of the fam pulled it together enuff tp give her a happy rest of her childhood.
And also poor Da-hae. Just imagine living life not knowing when the love of your life will come back and if they even will. 5 yrs is a long time to wait for someone who may or may not come back...that also made me absolutely sob😭😭
Also image from link below..i was too lazy to screenshot anything this time lol

I love a good scamming/gold digger love story where the manipulative fraud has her target eventually stumbling & falling, all wrapped around her finger, as she's solely concentrated on her goal which turns to shit when she's the one to catch feelings next. Throw in some family dynamic superhero shit along with that too? I'm fucking in. I'm kinda obsessed with this pairing actually, and I haven't been sucked into a kdrama pair for a while so I'm curious to see how this develops. I think I wish Do Dahae had a much more ruthless/witty side like her fake Mom (ofc I like my FLs morally-grey but leaning just a lil more towards evil ehehe) so the romance and her relationship with that kid would be more of a slowburn. She's a bit too plain for my taste for now but I'll accept it because this is my favourite trope & the acting is not shit, so I'm willing to overlook that for more Dohae x Gwiju scenes and the story unfolding.
#the atypical family#bok gwiju#do dahae#just found out that she's hated?#yeah I keep seeing moral police type of posts and honestly... yall are boring asf#probs got shit taste in films outside of kdramas 💀 cuz the lack of media literacy is embarrassing lmao#pure misogyny too#anyways if anyone's evil... it's Ina's dad tbh#an alcoholic neglectful father who didn't even try with his daughter after her mom's death#that baby girl is LONELY#I hate men#and i support women's wrongs; they're just never as bad as men's. did dahae hurt anyone yet? No.#Do Dahae is practically an angel compared to how I wished her character was like
