In case anybody didn't know, underlined names in my posts about The Contemporary's RTC production are links! I only have four songs that I recorded (TSIA and Talia are combined into an audio), but that's better than nothing, right?

My friend and I can be heard yapping in some of these, but I did the best I could to capture the experience lol

Since you are bored uh- what are some of your favorite moments from RTC ?

OH MY GOD IVE WAITED DECADE TO HAVE ANYONE ASK ME ABOUT THIS

noel's introduction pre noel's lament. hes my fav and i love seeing how different actors do it. It's the moment i really kind of can see the dimensions of this noels character and the nuaces the actor gives him if that makes sense?? noels lment too!!! i love seeing the dress and how that bit is staged!!

and then similarly to that, BOJD! Jane is such an interesting character and i think its neat because you either a. get to see someone fucking fly while hitting the high notes or b. get to see how a theater works around that an comes up with a way to stage that!! i think that BOJD is one of the numbers that varies the most form production to production choreography wise. When a theater isn't able to make their actor fly, they get creative and no one production approaches the number exactly the same way which makes me look forward to it when watching a boot. It's also just such a pretty song to hear, and i love watching it.

Another one is the post TNBS scenes with spacedools, nischa and blackrose. Not for any technical reason but because they ARE SO. DAMN. CUTE!!! i love them all and i think that these little diolouges slow down the show and let us see how the choir kids interact with one another kind of privately. also constace is so real!!!

what would john doe’s song be about? the same as jane’s with a few lyric changes, or would it have a few more similarities to noels lament?

I’ve been kind of working out the kinks for the song but it’s leaning a lot more towards TBOJD but there are added references to Noel’s Lament (I’m really considering having him dress up as Monique at some point but I’m not 100% on it yet)

I really liked the choreography from TBOJD’s preview so it inspired me to make Ocean and Ricky dress up in mourning clothing to resemble John’s family he left behind. John mostly pleads with them, begging for them to notice and recognize who he is,, though they never acknowledge his presence.

I also ADORED Roxy Theater’s BOJD so the rest of the choir are dressed up in masks and cloaks (kinda similar to Chance Theater’s BOJD (and they also symbolizing death itself 🤭🤭)) but they pull him away from Ocean and Ricky throughout the song and crowd around him,, isolating and kinda forcing him back to obscurity :OO

Might make another post explaining everything a bit more when I have everything sorted out tho >:33
