A scene my mom and I thought up after Bofur and Leanna reunite in Laketown, and her mother sees their companionship for the first time. Leanna explains in elvish... but not without awkward eye contact when you're declaring something indirectly towards them...

It's been incredible. -Estilil: Yes, I can see your spirit shining, even after such a frightening experience. -Leanna: Naneth... there is something more. In elvish, translation thanks to this translator: -Estilil: What is it, Nin hén? (What is it, my child?) -Leanna: Mel, Naneth. (Love, Mother.) -Estilil: Cin ped-o i norn? (You speak of the dwarf?) -Leanna: Ho has nin emel. (He has my heart.)

My contribution to @pistachiozombie's bofuranna contest!

I'm not very good at drawing, but I've always loved working with clay. So instead of drawing a cottage scene, I sculpted one.

Aside from the trees, shrubs, and wooden base, the whole thing is handmade with polymer clay and hand painted (I added the snow to the trees and shrubs so that kinda counts)

The photos don't quite capture it, but the snow is VERY glittery

Enchanting

A/N: just a little something-something for @pistachiozombie because one of her latest art pieces inspired me to write so Bofur x Leanna. Again. I hope you can all enjoy this, please drop a comment or a reblog (or both) if you can and go give the lovely creator of the lovely Leanna some love! Her art is *chef’s kiss*! Happy Holidays, everyone! Please stay safe and healthy! 

Warnings: slight innuendo but nothing shocking. Bofur is cheeky. It’s fluff.

"You can't swim?" Bofur looks a little less than horrified. Leanna squirms uncomfortably, wondering how the conversation ended up here.

"No," she says, "few hobbits can."

Her husband frowns and blows out a mouthful of smoke. "What if you fall in the water?" He says worriedly. "Or out of a boat?" 

"I don't think—"

Bofur shakes his head and puts out his pipe. "No. Nope! You're learning to swim. Come with me."

"Bofur, I—"

He ignores her, tugging the hobbit lass up to her feet and out the door of their cottage. There is a small pond out back, full of reeds and lilypads and small fish. It sings with frogs on summer evenings like this one. Bofur is already taking off his boots and outer clothes. 

"Bofur…" Leanna tries again. "I—"

"You trust me, right?" He says softly, looking into her eyes. Of course she does. She nods. He smiles kindly at her and squeezes her hand. "I will not let you drown," he promises. "Now, take off those clothes, you can't swim in that dress."

Leanna frowns. "I don't want to swim naked."

"Then leave your slip," he says, and winks, "it's not like I've never seen ya without clothes, amrâlimê."

Leanna splutters, her face burning with a blush and he cackles. She takes off her clothes, all except for her slip, and lets Bofur lead into the cool water. She shivers as the liquid creeps up her thighs. She isn’t cold, it’s a hot night, the frogs and bugs and night creatures almost deafening, but it’s still frightening. She looks down into the water with wide eyes.

“Leanna,” Bofur says gently, squeezing her hand again. “Keep your eyes on me.”

She swallows hard and looks up at him. He’s smiling down at her fondly, holding her elbows steadily. “I’m scared,” she admits.

“You don’t have to be. I won’t let you go.” He knocks his forehead to hers lightly, and leads her deeper into the water. She clings to his arms as the water buoys her toes off the ground. There’s a fleeting moment of gripping panic and she looks wildly at Bofur. He tightens his hold on her arms and gives her a reassuring smile. “Give your legs a little kick, lass. It’ll help keep you afloat.”

She’s scared to take her feet off the bottom on purpose, but he’s so gently encouraging, so she does, with a nervous gasp. “There you go!” he says encouragingly. “Good job, Leanna.”

He pulls her through the water, and they don’t notice the sun setting until the stars are out. Seeing a light out of the corner of her eye, Leanna drags her eyes away from Bofur to look at it, and gasps softly. “Bofur!”

The water is glowing, really glowing, fish dancing beneath the surface around them, their scales shimmering in the soft moonlight. The sight of it all is so beautiful, it makes Leanna’s breath catch in her throat. “Well,” Bofur says wonderingly, “would ya look at that!”

“What makes it do that?” She asks breathlessly, taking one hand off Bofur’s arm to trail it through the glowing water. “Is it magic?”

“I don’t know,” he says, “sure is pretty, though.”

She smiles up at him. “Did you know? That it looked like this out here at night?”

“No. If I had, I’d have spent more time out here.” He’s gazing at her with a lovestruck expression, enchanted by the way the glowing light looks bouncing off her skin, her hair, illuminating her lovely eyes.

“What?” She asks bashfully, blushing under his intense look.

“Nothin’,” he says, “I was just thinkin’ how enchanting you look right now. Like a faerie.”

Leanna blows out an embarrassed puff of air. “There you go again with the poetry. Flatterer.”

He bends and kisses her forehead tenderly. “You know I mean it wholeheartedly.”

She smiles. “I know.”

[The Hobbit - Bofur x Leanna] Old animation I nitpicked at a while ago and finally wanted to post. She has an audience ♥

I don't know if anyone else has felt this way to this extent, but Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Tolkien, and even Bofur in general, have definitely changed my life and only made things better. I love my other hyperfixations too, but this one is hugely different and stands out from the rest. I may moan about the 'half of the fandom' that may not like my OC, or the hundreds of Bofur/Leanna content I have posted since 2019... but the greatness that came from it outshines the haters.

Not only have my mom and I bonded stronger with my love for all things Tolkien, but because I shared with her my embarrassing love for Bofur, we have made a story, which inspired her to finally make an OC - which then inspired my dad to make an OC - and he doesn't even go on the internet! Not to mention she prefers strictly staying with the lore, so adding Leanna, Estilil, Sven and my beorn dad, was surprising!

I have drawn them so many times i have gotten comfortable with drawing unique face structures and natural wrinkles, hands, poses, expressions, because i want to match the love that emits from the films.

I have met some wonderful friends and followers that have definitely enabled and pushed the love even further and motivated me to keep posting. I didn't get as much hate as I first expected to ship an oc as hard as I do with a canon character. Granted I did get some anon hate through the years that hurt, but what can you do. The inspiration I give fellow OC creators gives me a nice boost!!

Anyways, like I said, I know I bitch about the hater side of the fandom, but nobody wants to be hated for doing something they love. In the end, it was all a positive experience. I hope some of you have felt something similar too.
