And how on the nose Farah is with this question, because Zuri's relationship with Bobby was always... complicated.

I've got two routes with Bobby either being an ex friend or an ex boyfriend, because certain things in both can be applied to them (but I also just wanna see the flavour text lol).

They line between platonic and romantic/sexual vibes got blurred so easily that there isn't really a straight answer to this.

These two raised hell in university together - dude was a pretty bad influence on her, and she was already on shaky ground with how disingenuous Zuri had become near the end of high school. They both ended up burning a lot of bridges so, aside from Tina, they were all that was left of the life they had before moving back to Wayhaven. They've seen each other at their worst (and Bobby thinks he's seen her at her best).

It doesn't help that he entered her life while she was questioning her sexuality again. She could never place how she felt about him and at some point, he knew that. There was a lot of flirting and almosts and relationships that suffered because of the lack of boundaries.

In the "present day", they kind of have to dance around each other, playing this game where they never let the other get too comfortable with them being around but placate each other enough to not push anyone into spilling things that could change public perception of them (Bobby managed to do that all by himself lol, but it could be worse).

One thing about Bobby that will never not be funny to me is the contrast between the character they actually are vs the character they are on paper.

Like, if you try to explain them a kind of detached factual way, they are a journalist for a small local newspaper trying to expose shady operations of the police. And the police in their town is shady. In fact, they are working with an even shadier secret government organisation with the goal to keep regular people in the dark about the actual state of the world. So the journalist sounds like someone you should be rooting for. But then you read the actual text and, well...

Basically, what I'm saying is that Bobby would be hailed as the hero of the people if they could just stop being an asshole for 2 goddamn seconds.

But then if you go for Bobby's story route, then they've certainly been through a lot. Enough to change a person, that's for sure, if it's what they want!

It may be an unpopular opinion but i actually like Bobby... At first i was kinda disappointed with choosing Bobby's path because there's no drama as my detective and her don't have any previous history together (they are just acquaintances). But now, seeing these two play mind games 4d chess with each other makes everything worth it lmao
