watched "porky & daffy" last last night (watta great title) and man theres something about the animation in 30's clampett cartoons that i really love, its so uniquely fluid and fun to watch, this was a really fun (and funny) cartoon

Most people know of Bob Clampett’s work as a director. His work as an animator is a little less known—let’s change that!

In honor of his 110th birthday, I bring you a reel of some of his animation work! He was such a versatile cartoonist--animation, directing, comics, puppeteering, stop motion--that it feels criminal only such a select portion of his work gets talked about. He’s one of only a handful who have the distinction of animating in a short they also directed!

genuine question: why is "falling hare" such a beloved cartoon? i think its a pretty good bugs bunny cartoon, but some folks call it one of the best bugs cartoons of all time and even one of the greatest cartoons of all time and i never got why it got such high praise, i feel that there are tons of clampett cartoons, from this year, before and after, that are way more deserving of such praise, to me this is just another standard clampett bugs cartoon
