Anímate este invierno y atrévete con el snowboard, el deporte de nieve que hace furor entre los jóvenes. Pero no vayas con prejuicios: no es caro, ni difícil y es más seguro de lo que piensas. Se estima que más de 50.000 personas practican snowboard en España, pero el dato más impactante es que el número de seguidores crece un 40% año tras año. Surfear en la nieve es más seguro que el esquí; además es rápido de aprender y resulta más barato. Sus incondicionales creen que más que un deporte es un estilo de vida y hay toda una moda en ropa y diseño. El sueño de todo snowboarder es madrugar y descender por nieve virgen, dejando su huella en la montaña para envidia de todos. No obstante, esto ha de ser una práctica para expertos, pues conlleva riesgos como avalanchas. Recuerda que el “fuera de pista”, siempre tan tentador, no está permitido y que quedas excluido del seguro del forfait. En las siguientes estaciones podrás surfear con tranquilidad: Sierra Nevada La estación granadina cuenta con tiendas que te ofrecen equipo, alquiler y cursos a pie de pista. Además, hay un snowpark, rampas para saltos, bares y demás. Celebran concentraciones de snowboarders con cursillos de iniciación y perfeccionamiento y charlas con los mejores surfistas del momento. Cerler Con 45km esquiables, esta estación del Pirineo de Huesca es un buen lugar para aprender a surfear ya que goza de amplias pistas, suaves pendientes y nieve asegurada toda la temporada. Además, el forfait cuesta menos que en otras estaciones. Baqueira – Beret En la famosa estación del Valle de Arán (Lérida), podrás surfear viendo al fondo la cima del Aneto y la Maladeta y con suerte a algún que otro político. La nieve es abundante y de excelente calidad. Para aprender o perfeccionarte en el snow, acude a alguna de las escuelas que tiene la estación. Pero eso no es todo, organizan un espectacular freeride (una modalidad de snow) solo para expertos. También hay un boardercross para esquí y snow donde pueden participar niños. Andorra En Andorra dispones de estupendas pistas y montañas para el snow. Todas las estaciones cuentan con su propia escuela. Para apuntarte a sus cursillos, solo tienes que llamar o entrar en sus webs y reservar tu plaza. Las que gozan de mayor prestigio son Soldeu – El Tarter y Pas de la Casa – Grau Roig. La estación de Soldeu – El Tarter es la que respira más ambiente snowboarder. Además, cuenta con un snowpark donde podrás soltarte la melena a toda velocidad sin molestar a otros esquiadores. En cualquiera de ella hay un montón de tiendas a pie de pista. Astún y Candanchú Ambas pistas, en Huesca, cuentan con abundante nieve y recorridos, por eso algunos los llaman “montañas de nieve”. En Astún tienes circuitos especiales para snowboard, un halfpipe y un snowpark. Decídete a pegar el salto Para que te hagas una idea, un curso de aprendizaje de snow cuesta desde 50€ el día según la escuela y el nivel, y si decides que sean en grupo o particulares. La edad mínima para iniciarse ronda los 5 años y la máxima…pues según lo valiente y aventurero que seas. El snowboard tiene algunas diferencias con respecto al esquí alpino. Te conviene conocerlas: El equipo de snow puede resultar ligeramente más económico y además te ahorras los apoyos para las manos El equipo es más cómodo de transportar en el coche Las lesiones son menos traumáticas que en el esquí; las partes más sufridas son manos, muñecas y hombros. La carga se realiza con el tórax, no con los pies. Se precisa mejor cuanto más nieve virgen y profunda haya. Es un deporte casi exclusivo de la gente más joven, aunque realmente puede practicarlo cualquiera. El aprendizaje del snowboard es mucho más rápido Para desplazamientos sin esquiar es mucho más incómodo y torpe que el esquí. En el snow se desciende en transversal, mientras que en el esquí se hace en frontal. El número de adeptos a este deporte crece a un ritmo mayor que el de esquí.

En algunas estaciones está prohibido practicar snow. Equipo básico de snow: En el snowboard hay dos disciplinas, una llamada freestyle, y la otra, freeride. La primera es la más acrobática y se caracteriza por saltos y piruetas verdaderamente espectaculares; puede realizarse en pistas preparadas con rampas o en la montaña. En cambio, el freeride es más arriesgado pues se trata de descender fuera de pista por lugares insólitos, bajar por paredes vertiginosas y alcanzar saltos comparables con volar. Para practicar el snowboard, el equipo rígido consta de una tabla, fijaciones (aunque algunas tablas ya las traen) y botas. Hay varios modelos según la modalidad que vayas a practicar y del nivel que tengas. En cuanto a la ropa, no deben faltarte unos guantes, gafas, pantalones y un anorak. Tom sighed, his lips drawn to a pout while he watched Harrison zip down the mountain. It was his third day watching everyone practice and he was bored out of his mind. He liked cheering for everyone, with the exception of Damien, but it got boring after a while, and he got jealous. He wanted to be out there improving with everyone else. He glanced down at his phone, luckily practice was almost over and Harrison and him would be able to go home soon.

“You know you don’t have to keep coming,” coach hummed.

“I’m supporting everyone,” he shot him a glare, “What else am I supposed to do? Sit on the couch all day? At least I can be on the mountain this way.”

“Well I’m tired of watching you pout Holland,” he bit back, “Why don’t you take this time to develop a new hobby? You could learn to knit.”

“Knitting?” he scoffed, “No thanks, I’m bored enough doing this.”

“Hey, don’t scoff at knitting, it’s relaxing.”

He rolled his eyes and set his head in his hands. Another ten minutes passed before he heard someone shuffling out towards them. He was pleasantly surprised when he saw who it was.

“What are you doing out here bunny?”

She smiled at him, “I came to see you.”

His smile spread ear to ear, “Really? Aren’t you supposed to be working?”

“I got off early,” she explained, taking a seat beside him, “I thought I’d come keep you company for a little bit.”

“How sweet,” he hummed, “How was work?”

“Boring, how was watching?”

“Also boring,” he sighed, “Haz knocked some time off on boardercross though.”

“Oh, cool,” she peaked up the mountain, “You know I’m sure sitting out here in the cold all day isn’t good for your ankle.”

“Well the doctor didn’t tell me to keep it warm.”

“Well what if you were keeping it warm at my house?”

His eyes lit up, “I’m listening.”

“I’ve got the next two days off, I thought maybe you’d want to come hang out with me instead of pouting on the side of a mountain all day.”

“I don’t know, he really likes pouting,” coach butted in.

“Oh shove off,” Tom rolled his eyes, “I’d love to hang out with you bunny. What did you have in mind?”

She shrugged, “I didn’t really plan anything, but I’m sure we can find something fun to do.”

“Definitely,” he smirked, “I guess I can skip a couple of days. You won’t miss me too much, will you coach?”

“I think I’ll make it.”

“I didn’t realize we lived so close to each other,” Tom smirked as (y/n) parked her car, “Isn’t that convenient?”

“You sound like you’re planning a murder,” she deadpanned, shivering suddenly as she opened the door.

“I was thinking more along the lines of a late night rendez-vous,” he chuckled, “I can trek through the snow just to come snuggle up with you, it’ll be romantic.”

“You aren’t trekking anywhere on that leg,” she retorted, “Are you going to be okay on the stairs?”

He nodded, “I’ve been making it up the mountain haven’t I?”

“Tom.”

“You don’t need to worry, I promise I’m following the doctors orders,” he promised, “It’s just a partial tear, I can handle some stairs.”

“I just want you to be careful,” she watched him as he paced up the stairs behind her.

“You’re cute when you worry,” he teased while she unlocked her door.

“Shut up,” she rolled her eyes.

Tom examined her home as he stepped inside, it smelt like roses, it was decorated exactly how he’d imagined it would be. It felt warm and homey, it was all soft pastels and fairy lights strung along the walls.

“It smells nice in here,” he complimented, “And it’s cute, very cozy.”

“It’s this candle, it’s seriously the best smelling thing I’ve ever found,” she smiled, moving to light the candle on her kitchen peninsula, “And thank you, I don’t have too much room but I try to make it as nice as I can, you know?”

He nodded, “It’s better than what I could do. I mean our place came pre furnished but my bedroom only has a TV and like one poster on the wall.”

“Well what’s the poster?”

“Me,” he smiled proudly, “At the US open last year, I came in third for big air and second for half pipe, I was only a couple points off of first though.”

She laughed, “You have a poster of yourself up in your room? Did you autograph it too?”

“Oh please, I look hot on that poster,” he bit back, “You wish you had a poster of me up in your room.”

“You wish you had a poster of me up in your room,” she retorted.

He smirked, “Well I definitely wouldn’t mind it.”

She rolled her eyes and stepped into her kitchen, “You can take a seat. Do you want some water or something?”

“I’m okay, thank you,” he watched as she filled her water bottle, “So what did you want to do?”

“I’ve got some video games, we could watch movies, I mean we could always bake or something. You should pick though, you’re my guest after all.”

“Well what do you have to bake?”

“Let’s see,” she hummed, opening up some of her cupboards, “I’m a little low on groceries right now, but we could probably make some cookies, or some cupcakes, I don’t think I have everything for brownies… Oh! We could make macarons,” she beamed at him.

“Macarons sound a little advanced, I think cookies are more my speed,” he admitted.

“Okay, what’s your favorite kind?” she began plucking things from her cupboards.

“I like the ones with M&M’s in them.”

“Well I don’t have M&M’s,” she frowned, “I’ve got sprinkles though. We could make confetti cookies?”

“Fine by me,” he joined her in the kitchen, popping his knuckles in preparation, “Alright, put me to work bunny.”

She smiled suggestively, “Oh trust me Tommy, I will.”

He smiled at the insinuation, “Come on now bunny, you’re making me blush.”

Tom listened to her instructions, though he couldn’t resist the urge to tease her or try to distract her while they worked. She’d mostly ignored his teasing, rolling her eyes at him and concentrating on the cookies. It was obvious she was passionate about baking, and he was happy to share one of her passions with her. He thought it was cute, but that didn’t mean he wasn't going to tease her.

He’d flicked flour on her nose, made bad jokes about how sweet her lips were, and pretended to mix up the sugar and salt. None of which had elicited anything more than an eye roll from her, which wasn’t what he was hoping for. He wanted them to start some kind of romantic food fight and fall onto the couch like they did in the movies, unfortunately she was far too concentrated for that.

“You take this pretty seriously huh?” Tom swiped his finger through the dough while she measured out some sprinkles.

“Well I have too, they’ll be gross if we don’t get the measurements right,” she turned back to him, her lips instantly falling to a frown, “That better not be dough on your finger.”

He smirked, “Why not?”

“Because that’s gross and unsanitary,” she narrowed her eyes at him, “I mean what are you? Five?”

He burst into laughter, “Oh come on, it’s just a little cookie dough, I’m not gonna get sick.”

“I don’t care that you’re eating the cookie dough, I care that you stuck your gross finger in the dough!”

“My finger is not gross, I washed it right before we started,” he swiped his finger into the dough again, “Relax a little bunny, have some cookie dough.”

Her jaw hung open in disbelief, “Did you just stick your finger back in the dough?!”

He rolled his eyes, “It’s not a big deal, they’re just for you and me anyway.”

“It is a big deal, it’s gross, now the cookies are full of your germs.”

He rolled his eyes before leaning in to kiss her, smirking as he pulled away, “Well there, now your mouth is full of my germs already so it doesn’t really matter does it?”

She blushed and pushed him away, “You’re disgusting,” she snapped before dumping the sprinkles into the bowl.

He laughed again, “I think you liked it.”

“I did not.”

“You did too,” he sang, wrapping his arms around her waist while he mixed the dough, “You loved it, you love my germs, you’re absolutely obsessed with them.”

“In your dreams,” she hummed.

“Oh come on, it’s just us bunny, you can admit that you love my germs and you want to be covered head to toe in them.”

“Gross,” she moved past him to grab a spoon and a cookie sheet, “I think you’re the one who’s obsessed with me, I mean this is only really our second official date and you’re all over me.”

“I am obsessed with you,” he didn’t hesitate to admit it.

“Lucky you,” she smirked, “Come help me make the cookies.”

He returned to her side, copying her while she formed the cookies, “I am lucky because you’re obsessed with me too.”

She sighed dramatically, “Yeah, I guess I am.”

“You guess? Oh bunny you’re whipped, can’t you see that? I’ve got you driving me around, baking for me, and nursing me back to health for a tear so minor it’s practically a sprain.”

“I’m whipped? You’re the one who came in every morning to buy a pass you didn’t need just to hit on me for five minutes. You must have wasted what? At least a couple hundred dollars, and you rush down the mountain to come have lunch with me everyday.”

“Well you knew I didn’t need those passes and you let me buy them everyday,” he bit back, “And I didn’t spend any money on them because they were comped.”

“Good, you’ve still got money to take me on dates then.”

“More dates?” he glanced down at her with a smile.

“Duh,” she rolled her eyes, “We just established that we were obsessed with each other didn’t we? Going on more dates should be a give in.”

He smiled and kissed the top of her head, “I guess so. Next date won’t revolve around food though okay? We’ll go out and do something.”

“Sounds good to me,” she placed the cookies in the oven with a smile, “Alright, those have to bake for about 15 minutes, so, what should we do while we wait?”

“You wanna watch a movie or something? We could chill out and you know, cuddle a little,” his cheeks turned red as he spoke, “Only if you wanted to, of course.”

She bit her cheek before nodding, “That sounds nice Tom.”

So the pair sat on her couch, spending the rest of the day snuggling and watching movies.

“Same time tomorrow?” (y/n) joked as she pulled into Tom’s driveway.

He nodded eagerly, “I’ll be ready, and I’ll bring your container back too,” he patted the lid of the small container in his lap, “Thank you for keeping me company bunny, this was much better than sitting on the mountain all day.”

“Yeah, it was really fun, hopefully tomorrow will be fun too.”

“Of course it will be, it’s fun just being around you,” he set a hand on her cheek, “How about a goodbye kiss?”

“We’ve been kissing all day,” she giggled.

“One more wouldn’t hurt.”

“No, it wouldn’t,” she agreed before pressing her lips to his.

Tom smiled as he worked his lips against hers, his hand slipping into her hair while hers rested on his chest.

“I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of that,” he hummed as he pulled away, “Alright bunny, text me when you get home safe yeah?”

She nodded, “I will, I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“You too,” he waved as he left the car, calling after her as she pulled away, “Drive safe! And try not to cry when you start missing me tonight!”
