Hey, Min,

If you get this letter, and/or the gods-know-how-many letters after this one, then I’m probably not far behind. If you don’t…well, I guess it doesn’t matter. This might as we be a journal, at this point.

So, I’m gonna start by saying this: I don’t know how long it’ll be between me writing this and you getting it. I have a sneaking suspicion that it’s gonna be a while, or at least long enough that you guys will probably get worried. I’m…really sorry. I wasn’t expecting to get into this situation, so I had no way of warning you guys.

To explain, uh…basically, picked up a job as bodyguard for a ship. The captain turned out to be an asshole dealing in stolen goods, we had to fight off a bunch of mob goons trying to kill him, and us—myself and the other three bodyguards, more on that later—by extension, we got some help from another ship captain, and since we were all kind of out of a job, she offered us a job on her ship.

Except she didn’t tell us that her ship goes into the SKY???????? Not just into the clouds, but past them?????????? I’m pretty sure there are stars around me. I hate this, actually. So, uh, that’s why I’ve been missing for a while.

And, of course, it’s not enough that I’m stuck in the sky, with no way of getting back into contact with you guys, you know who else is here? Hiko, because of course they show up just in time to make me MORE miserable. Listen, I know you’re still fond of them, but he’s still the reason you’re stuck taking care of our younger siblings instead of me. At least I can get back even a fraction of the money she stole from us…hopefully.

Man at some point I really need to actually like, write down my thoughts on this accidental space-faring fucker

Like, my barbarian’s backstory involves a childhood friend slash surrogate sibling (hi mister chel’s character) stealing most of their family’s money, so they set off to be an adventurer ostensibly to help earn more money for their family but REALLY to chase down said friend and dole out revenge. Selfishness posed as selfLESSness.

And in some regards i think that general concept fits with Tsuzuru? Like don’t get me wrong he is still inherently self-sacrificing and still doing things for the benefit of everyone around him, but I think there IS a layer of selfishness in that too, you know? Like ultimately the whole “writing until he drops” attitude stems from him writing romijuli in a week because he wanted to be a playwright so badly.

I think there’s a lot that can be explored there. Idk.

I tried to avoid making a Tsuzuru for my bunny barbarian but I think instead I made like, parallel universe Tsuzuru

Actually, since I mentioned them writing letters back home frequently, I could just…write up the letters I imagine her writing and post them as like. A session journal.
