The MF5 GT was in the absolute top position. This model series made its debut in 2007 during the IAA at the Wiesmann dealer in Frankfurt. The automated SMG III transmission with seven gears, the ABS and a few other driver assistance systems also came from the M6. Steering components came from the smaller 3 Series with the internal model codes E46 and E90. All around, 19-inch wheels with 265/35 ZR 19 tires at the front and 325/30 ZR 19 tires at the rear were used as standard. When BMW retired the E60, E61, E63 and E64 series and thus also discontinued production of the V10, Wiesmann switched in parallel to the V8 biturbo engine from the X5 M. This produced 408 kW/555 hp from 4.4 liters of displacement, which was transmitted to the rear wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.Initially, the Wiesmann MF5 GT was only available as a Coupé. Moldovan prosecutors and investigative officers detained eight Ukrainian citizens on Wednesday for alleged involvement in corrupt schemes that defrauded 40 Ukrainian military personnel who gave advance payments for the purchase of off-road vehicles needed for frontline operations.

The off-road vehicles were offered for sale on the internet by members of the group allegedly involved in the fraud.

The Moldovan authorities said that the Ukrainian soldiers were inspired by fundraising campaigns to transfer the money in order to use the vehicles in the defence of Ukraine on the eastern front. 

However, after the money was transferred, the cars were not delivered to the Ukrainian military, and the money was not returned.

The day after the money transfer, members of the corrupt scheme would withdraw the transferred money from cash machines in Moldova or use it directly to pay for services or purchases, according to the Moldovan prosecution.

“The detained suspects are refugees from Ukraine [who came] to Moldova after the outbreak of the war in the neighbouring country. They are between 28 and 43 years old, and among them is a woman,” the prosecution said.

The prosecution added that the suspects are part of a criminal group active since 2022. After defrauding the victims and obtaining the money, they then proceeded to commit the crime of money-laundering, according to the prosecution.

Law enforcement authorities from Chisinau and Kyiv worked together on the operation to dismantle the organised criminal group.

They carried out more than 20 searches in Moldova and more than ten in Ukraine. 

In Moldova, the authorities seized 22 luxury cars allegedly bought with money obtained through fraud, including a Porsche, a Mercedes-AMG G63 and BMW models X5, X6, and X7.

The authorities also confiscated 4.5 kg of gold jewellery, money made from the scam, and over 80 bank cards from Moldova, Ukraine and Russia.

The Ukrainian authorities meanwhile claimed that the victims of the fraudulent scheme amount to more than 100. 

The Chisinau Court’s Ciocana headquarters ordered that the suspects be remanded in custody for 30 days. However, their lawyers appealed to the Chisinau Court of Appeals, which has yet to rule on their pleas.

The BMW Group is commencing production of its BMW iX5 Hydrogen model. Manufacture of the small-series hydrogen-powered vehicle is taking place in the pilot plant at its Munich Research and Innovation Centre (FIZ). The first ever Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) featuring hydrogen fuel cell technology has already completed an intensive programme of testing under demanding conditions during the development phase and will now be used as a technology demonstrator for locally carbon-free mobility in selected regions from spring 2023.

“Hydrogen is a versatile energy source that has a key role to play as we progress towards climate neutrality,” says Frank Weber, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Development. “We are certain that hydrogen is set to gain significantly in importance for individual mobility and therefore consider a mixture of battery and fuel cell electric drive systems to be a sensible approach in the long term. Fuel cells don’t require any critical raw materials such as cobalt, lithium or nickel either, so by investing in this type of drive system we are also strengthening the geopolitical resilience of the BMW Group. Our BMW iX5 Hydrogen test fleet will allow us to gain new and valuable insights, enabling us to present customers with an attractive product range once the hydrogen economy becomes a widespread reality.”

We either just called it the Yukon or the Denali, or best yet, "la precidencial" (The presidential in Spanish) as my mom really loved it cause it made her feel like she was a VIP of sorts. And We did so too. It had the best mileage, incredible cargo space and was tank as shit, rarely getting any issues.

But alas, we lost them both thanks to my dad. As the Beemer's oil issues got worseand since my dad is a mechanic, we sort of trusted it to him. Only for him to tell us that it was useless to fix it and he had sold it for scrap. He then later proposed to get us a new car using the 5K he got from sacrificing the Beemer. But in order to do so we would have to trade in la Presidencial to match the price. So for the price of two good cars. We got one shitty car that feels like a mix of all the bad things of both. The low cargo space and mileage of the Beemer and the weird size mix of both. It's a 2020 Nissan Armada and I personally kinda hate it. I've driven it a bit and it just sucks.
